Is it necessary? Does it gain anything to run for the pool?

Anyone got some advice for mining? I have tried using my 860M (nvidia) to mine using geth and ethminer, blockchain is synced, dag is created, but my display driver keeps crashing and recovering every time I try to start the mining, thus giving me 0 hashes. So far I have not found any solutions online. I have tried using the "standard" opencl ethminer and also the cuda version. My graphics card drivers are up-to-date.

Thought so. So all the large rentals are effectively lowering the earnings due to the larger pool hash rate, while lowering the chance to hit a block.

Yeah.. I hope this isn't another black month for us. Lose all the profits from last month. LOL So glad I turned off the rentals for now!  I think too many rentals is what's doing it as usual. Maybe another BW issue? Also is it possible on rentals, that due to the extra time involved to go from the miner to the rental network, then to the pool adds unattractive latency or delays to the share transmittal? IMO this could add an issue with finding blocks, vs direct mining to the pool. I know this happens on altcoins I've mined before. |

You know something is always up when newb members try to bash a coin (or stock) on the forums.. What about hero members? I think what ETH dev is doing is a complete disgrace, and he will continue to show his true thoughts on his OWN PRODUCT by doing things such as this... Answer me this...If he thought his coin was so great, why in hell would he dump such amounts at once? To me the answer is obvious... he lacks faith in his own project.Have fun and make money while you can with ETH, because the dev has already shown us where he thinks it should go... (insert DUMPster joke here, *badoom doom, tish*) IMO - Don't get stuck holding the bag, get out while you can. Haven't we all figured out that premine and IPO are things that coins do when they're not planning on being legit? Sure there are the rare few, but isn't it wiser to judge on the majority? If you're interested in one that has followed all of the correct ways of doing things from the beginning, shown true innovation, and has broken multiple (and will continue to break) world firsts, there's a hint in my signature as to where to look... Be ready, that's all I have to say. The truly good projects are soon to come to the top where they belong. Doing things the right way takes longer to get you rich, but in the end you still end up with a solid reputation... (Which to some people is more important than instant money.) Doesn't the saying go something like 'it goes as fast as it comes' or something along those lines? That one always rang true to me. Just sayin'. Nobody has the right to complain nor know his life/situation. What if he borrowed a large amount of $$ from a local loanshark who (in RU) WILL go after him and his family if not paid up? You never know. Most of us people in the world are not happy with the status quo and want more, better, faster, etc.. So If I have a chance to make $$$ on selling a large chunk of my investment, let it be. People should not get all caught up in the emotions of stocks or crypto. I am not saying buy everything and hold forever, but even Bitcoin had the same type of ups and down over the years and I just found it funny how most the panickers and people calling for the TEOTWAWKI (Regarding eth) are newb accounts. I see this all the time with altcoins on the exchanges and forums as well as OTCBB Stock forums. It's all BS, all the time.. Nobody other than maybe a deity will try to 'Save you' from an investment decision, on a forum most of all. LOL And finally. Let's just see where it goes. What people seem to 'forget' is how ETH went from a little over $2 to $15 and even now still over $7 within less than 2 months? |

Ok. So best links for mining and gaming OS on ssd please. I have a few systems to finish building to buy miners with, gotta get it done before they devalue. I just got pissed at Windows 10 nag screens and forced updates then quit. I like dual boot systems for me and something the masses can use for the ones to sell for miners so some options would be nice.
Hope this isn't too far off-topic. I switched to the Ubuntu flavor of Linux and have been quite pleased. It will do everything (and some further things) that Win will do, but a heckuva lot faster and without the unnecessary crap. I keep a second boot drive in the workstation with Win10, but only use it when I have to. I know many folks who use Linux for gaming, and are also pleased. Just Google Linux Ubuntu and you'll find a link to download the code. It fits on a USB drive, and that's what you install it from. Sadly you will NOT be playing most current and new games on Linux and Non Windows OS-es are plagued with driver issues. All my gaming rigs and miners are running on Win7/Win8.1 with zero issues, be it for myself or customers. Just have to set it up 'right' and use good quality parts, not buy the cheapest PoS junk on sale. |

there is one thing i dont like about nicehash i have a order for 120TH/s and im at 194 right now almost 200
Yeah it's pretty unpredictable. I sometimes have to set mine lower, i.e set it on 235 to get 250. On the other hand, when you are paying 235 and it shoots up to 275 I don't complain too much. But, yes, it can be a pain in the azz. On a side note, did we use up our allotment of blocks over the last few days that we are in for such a dry spell? Gotta break soon!! Actually when it shoots up in hash rate you PAY at that rate. No freebies from NH. Lol |
