3141  Economy / Marketplace / Re: getting LR out of mtgox on: February 25, 2011, 12:47:42 AM
I just can't understand why people are still using Mt. Gox.
In my opinion bitcoinmarket is and was from beginning way better.

MtGox was more liquid.
3142  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:42:13 AM
If you get a visit from the mib with a warrant and a penalty of jail for saying anything would you post on the forum ?

I don't know what this is about.
3143  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:39:14 AM
Wow, we sure expect a lot more of baron than we do of mtgox don't we.  Which is somewhat understandable but come on.

I am just stating what I think is likely.
3144  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:36:34 AM
I agree, but it's very strange for me.

Who knows. MtGox's complete silence is not helping the situation either.
3145  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:34:14 AM
You all should also Think why mtgox started asking about "stolen" BTC only after month before they was sent?

Mtgox doesn't know everything.
3146  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:29:33 AM
Generally and hypothetically speaking:

Publicly accusing someone, of a crime (without solid, legally obtained, to "beyond reasonable doubt" standard, proof) may be an act of libel.

Taking someone's money based on such accusations, particularly if not proved, may be qualified as fraud.

I sincerely hope than none of these is the case here.

All of which make it very clear that there should be a dispute resolution process of some kind, including knowing who is the accuser. It should also be clear that there should be a Term of Service that details what the operator cannot or can do.
3147  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:23:11 AM
No. I think everybody here's waiting for some words from him.

If mtgox didn't know that this forum thread blew up that could have reputation repercussion...well...
3148  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:20:33 AM
Yes, he posted here already.

But not today?
3149  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 25, 2011, 12:05:12 AM

Trading is usually done on #bitcoin-otc.
3150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Forum Record Broken on: February 25, 2011, 12:03:17 AM
Ladies and gentlemen, we broke yet another posting record:

3151  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 24, 2011, 11:14:34 PM
The use of $ and BTC together is very confusing. I am still not understanding if the 45000 USD is bitcoin or just LRUSD.
3152  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 24, 2011, 11:08:31 PM
Had anybody contact mtgox regarding this matter? Or you guys are just talking about it?
3153  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Weekly Reorganizing on: February 24, 2011, 10:19:27 PM
Need a server? I could host your domain on my server if you need one.

Already done.
3154  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: February 24, 2011, 07:32:18 PM
I actually love all these mtgox scandals. It jerks up the BTC valuation due to all the panic exits, makes my mining contracts more attractive, plus there is something to flame about... how interesting and exciting.

I hereby must declare myself as a biased party.

* kiba sigh.

It could be anything.
3155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17 blocks in the last hour? on: February 24, 2011, 07:04:50 PM
Then it got plopped down.
3156  Economy / Economics / Re: demurrage instead of fees on: February 24, 2011, 07:01:28 PM

Ok, sex is priceless  too Wink
That's not the point neither.

It's called prostitution Wink.
3157  Economy / Economics / Re: demurrage instead of fees on: February 24, 2011, 06:59:09 PM

None of us would stop paying for food, clothes, housing, internet...
But you won't die if you don't buy a car, a tv, a new GPU...
Yes survival is priceless. That's not the point.

No, human beings don't like to just "survive". They like to thrive, have sex, etc.
3158  Economy / Economics / Re: demurrage instead of fees on: February 24, 2011, 06:54:19 PM

Well, of course you would expend the necessary to survive, but nothing else.

Human beings, with few exceptions, are not monks. We like sex, romantic partners, games, gambling and all sort of stuff.

You see, we don't horde money for the sake of hording money and getting rich, we horde them for the good stuff in life.

Would it make sense to wait for 50 years before purchasing sex, games, and gambling? Heck no. We like them, now, all things being equal.
3159  Economy / Economics / Re: demurrage instead of fees on: February 24, 2011, 06:35:55 PM
The problem with an inflationary currency is why would anybody choose to spend or trade within that currency?
3160  Economy / Economics / Re: demurrage instead of fees on: February 24, 2011, 06:14:55 PM
Given the prospect of choosing a deflating currency or an inflation currency, I think people would choose a deflationary currency.
