No, the posting record is a bit higher than that.

We can always add more decimal space.
3083  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: March 02, 2011, 02:00:49 AM
oh my god.

mtgox.com write:
"
DayX: Person B finds an exploit in my LR code and manages to send himself a good deal of LR from the site.
DayY: Person B steals money from 2 other mtgox accounts after compromising them with a dictionary attack. This is discussed elsewhere.

"

You mean I hacked your website and not deposited liberty reserve to my mtgox.com account? I can prove you that I was depositing money into your liberty reseve account.

my version:
there not was any "stolen" funds, mtgox.com all this fabricate, why he starts asking only after month?, he trying to steal my 45 000 USD from me. Why he don't going to police?
( because he afraid  and can't ). He know how much I have on my mtgox.com account, so he find out that I was on IRC, so he fabricate by sending me "stolen" funds and grab my money.

It's your words versus mtgox.

You also didn't prove anything. You also have a tendency to forgot the most important details we need to check the story out. How are we suppose to believe you when it's impossible to check if your story is true?
3084  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments will want their TAX ??? The solution is obvious but scary. on: March 02, 2011, 01:45:50 AM
To the government, there's no such thing as profit and loss so they don't know zip about economical resource allocation. There's only tax dollars spending it. The return is calculated as how many political suppoters you have now versus how many angry citizens you have now.
3085  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: March 01, 2011, 10:01:47 PM
Problem still not resolved. When will be resolved, I will update topic.

mtgox.com not replying to me for 2 days now.

We need to cross examine mtgox.com to see if your story match up with his.
3086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Common Law System on: March 01, 2011, 10:00:30 PM
Because if I am e.g. an exchange, and I don't follow my national law, YOU risk loosing everything you've trusted me with if I get caught.  I may have the best intentions, but it doesn't help at all if what I do is illegal in my jurisdiction.  "Bitcoin common law" isn't worth anything when real life police knocks on the door.

How are we suppose to settle disputes when you're in one country and I am in another? You want me to use the court to sue your ass out of existence? What if some other guy can do but you can't without getting caught?
3087  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments will want their TAX ??? The solution is obvious but scary. on: March 01, 2011, 09:57:27 PM
I think wb3 either came from r/politics on Reddit or is a master troll.

Indistinguishable in either case.
3088  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments will want their TAX ??? The solution is obvious but scary. on: March 01, 2011, 09:46:23 PM
Happiness is an emotional state, a state of mind. Why should we care about such measure when we can just administer the population with dopamine?

Greed? For some people, it's nasty. For me, I am totally fine with that. Greed for greater lifespan, for intellectual enjoyment, for things...What's wrong with that?

Yet people forget the other sin, envy. Envy is to me, the nastiest of sins. If greed is simply the desire of wealth, than envy is based on what you don't have and hating other guys for being wealthier than you.
3089  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins Lost on: March 01, 2011, 09:04:59 PM
Adam's fair interest is that which Bob intends to accomplish with the $100. Demanding any more, beyond external transaction fees, is exploitation.

Nefario is paying me to develop the software for his bitcoin corporation. I know he will try to make a profit off of it. Meanwhile, I will get paid 120 BTC a week. That's an actual agreement in real life.

Is that exploitation? No. I like the arrangement in question.

This is after all, an amicable agreement between two moral agents. You, the outsider, is just an observer, who have nothing to do with the exchange. Whatever you think is exploitation is completely irrelevant to what I thought is a good deal, or what is moral.

No one will invest in a bank with zero reputation backing.
3091  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments will want their TAX ??? The solution is obvious but scary. on: March 01, 2011, 08:49:48 PM
Will people stop creating all those essay length posts so I can digest whatever you're trying to get across?
3092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some questionable aspects of Bitcoin on: March 01, 2011, 08:39:16 PM
You may already know, but the wish for a currency with limited supply and anonymous payments is driven mainly by ideology. For the followers of this ideology, no price is too high if they think it gives them what they want.

Do you want a currency that inflate over time or a currency that deflate over time? Ideology or no, currency is subjected to economic competition, not social engineering consideration.
3093  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins Lost on: March 01, 2011, 06:15:53 PM
Meh. Not a fan of trickle down economics. It only facilitates the exploitation of the masses. That said, nothing about Bitcoin requires its pioneers to exploit others. We ought to eschew interest, profit, and rent in favor of cooperative relationships.

What is "exploitation"? What's wrong with profit? Have you been reading too much commie literature lately?

3094  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com has blocked my account with 45 000 USD in it! on: March 01, 2011, 05:11:43 PM
Many days later...we don't know if the situation is resolved or what? Is Baron refusing to talk to MtGox?
3095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bubble imminent on: March 01, 2011, 04:56:41 PM
Just like there aren't enough speculators in the gold market to stabilise the gold price?

Bitcoin probably fluctuate more than gold price fluctuate. The point is, there's a lack of volume. If you buy 10,000 dollars worth of bitcoin, it's going to change rapidly.
3096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the Bitcoin "bank account" on: March 01, 2011, 04:45:17 PM
Your "bank account" is more like a wallet. It's actually stored on your computer.

yeah have just been reading through the wiki while waiting for responses. But i cant really find any deeper information about the wallet all i seem to be able to find is this page:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory
that shows where the "wallet" data files are stored. Does this mean that if my computer with the wallet goes down my wallet is lost? If i get infected by a worm or trojan will a hacker be able to "steal" my wallet by downloading it to his computer and then deleting it on mine?

Yes. It's your responsibility to make sure you secure and backup your wallet.dat as well not downloading Trojans or worms.

3098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bubble imminent on: March 01, 2011, 04:11:37 PM
Panic selling the USD for BTC  Cheesy i doubt it...IMO the current exchange rate is the result of speculation and hoarding, there's 5 million BTC out there yet only a fraction of that gets turned over at exchanges, just look at today's MtGox spread, High:0.97Low: 0.845 with that sort of volatility the exchange rate could go anywhere.

Wrong, there's just not enough speculators to stabilize exchange rate.

I'm sure there's a reason why MtGox doesn't have USD accounts? i mean why the muck around with liberty reserve?

It's called paypal screwing with people.

3100  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins Lost on: March 01, 2011, 03:20:33 AM
However, if bitcoins gain global acceptance, we may have to face the fact that the "newcomers" may be drawn from among the young or freshly impoverished. Perhaps it is beyond the scope of a currency's structure to favor the upwardly mobile, but I am (presently) of the opinion that it would be beneficial to have that "upward mobility" element baked into the currency of a society.

I realize I may not have made my point very clearly, but I should be going now. I was supposed to be somewhere a little while ago and got sucked in by the discussion. I'll return, hopefully soon.

If you can save more than you spend, you're already upwardly mobile.  Wink
