Well, you have to consider such a board might ignite more interest in arts and writing. Like they say, "If you build it, they will come."

I am not sure if it will happens. I don't want to fracture the forum into tiny sections but we could find out by running a one week experiment to see if writing and artworks start to increase in numbers.
3522  Other / Off-topic / Re: Request: An Art and Writing Board on: February 08, 2011, 02:43:20 PM
Until I see more arts and story writing, I don't see the point.
3523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / When Will Satoshi return? on: February 08, 2011, 07:16:52 AM
So...if he's still alive, when will he return?

I WILL finish this project no matter how how ugly the art piece turn out to be.
3525  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I Unlicense on: February 08, 2011, 06:43:19 AM
Also, the fact is that corporations and rich bastards coerce me all the time. They get to use the state to do it, so when it comes to them, I'm not going to back down.

To defeat copyright, one must create a more interesting stream of materials for people to consume.
3526  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Atlas's Dedicated Energy-Efficient Tiny Miners on: February 08, 2011, 04:39:40 AM
Why would a miner need all that space?
3527  Economy / Marketplace / Re: The Bitcoin Weekly(That's the name for now) on: February 08, 2011, 01:07:52 AM
I wrote a story integrating bitcoin and agorism. So the next issue should at least have two articles.
3528  Other / Meta / Re: Improving the Bitcoin Forum on: February 07, 2011, 02:35:02 PM
Maybe witcoin can be used to establish these communities?  I'm still working on implementation of ugcategories

Well, the marketplace IS the economic hub of the bitcoin economy.
3529  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why I Unlicense on: February 07, 2011, 01:33:00 PM
In your case, if you say, "do whatever you want with any of my stuff", there is nothing to prevent corporations form locking up your work, and preventing others from using it (well, unless they get it from the original source). Of course, the same applies for things I do, but at least I have some legal threats if I catch 'em doing it.

Isn't it wrong to use coercion against people who do not share their own property?
3530  Other / Off-topic / Re: Looking for a source that I once read on: February 07, 2011, 05:03:14 AM

3531  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Liberty Reserve? READ THIS NOW! on: February 07, 2011, 03:40:53 AM

...the multinational banks have also grown and quickly too. So, if it will be "a  good thing" to have the central reserve bank of bitcoin once the current banks buy up the gpu farms and get together as member banks, then concentration of wealth and network control in farms and communes will also benefit everyone, as you say...

As i understand the intent, however, this was supposed to be a p2p network, in which there weren't the usual centralized wealth and control that would weaken it. P2p is not about "specialization of labor," and rather about spreading it out rather equally, to gain certain benefits. Specialization of labor is the client/server model, where the server farms and clusters do the labor and charge us fees for it... Silly, me! I thought we were trying to get away from that with Bitcoin...

It's not like the GPU farms are cornered markets.

The submission deadline had already been passed. So far, we only have Nefario submitted an article. I guess that mean more work for me.
3533  Other / Off-topic / Is the World Run By Conspiracy or Stand Alone Complex on: February 07, 2011, 02:51:51 AM
Stand Alone Complex - Phenomenon where unrelated, yet very similar actions of individuals create a seemingly concerted effort. Eventually, the individual acts eventually culminates into changes to society.

Conspiracy - Cabal orchestrating sophisticated plans that fundamentally change society.

Do you believe that the world is ruled by a few select cabals, or that society tends toward certain organization because of the dynamic caused by individual actors?

You can thank wikipedia for defining Stand Alone Complex.
3534  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Young women for bitcoins on: February 07, 2011, 02:37:46 AM

I think you're wrong. This forum is not about the "market". It is about bitcoin support.drugs, prostitution and weapons on this forum.[/b]

It's still the hub of the bitcoin economy.
3535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: new bitcoin website on: February 07, 2011, 12:28:49 AM
Ya going to try to make money off of this project?
3536  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this payment processor worth considering ? on: February 07, 2011, 12:28:21 AM
Where do you get the money to pay for all the stuff you spend on the bitcoin economy?
3537  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Liberty Reserve? READ THIS NOW! on: February 07, 2011, 12:16:49 AM
The exchange problem appears to be intractable.

3539  Other / Off-topic / Re: I have nowhere else to turn.. on: February 06, 2011, 11:52:54 PM

Give me one single person who is "working their way up" from a bullshit minimum wage job? And I specify JOB, not someone who's working 80+ hours a week with two employers just to keep their head above water. If you're going to accuse me of lying, give me some proof. Everything I've said I am completely capable of backing up with documents, sources, and even third parties. If you don't want to help me, fine. If you think I'm lying, fine. But don't fucking accuse me of shit you have NO IDEA about. Don't present shit as fact if you have nothing but your own personal speculation.

Income - costofbareboneliving = saving is still true.

You should be happy to get whatever money you can, whatever job you can, but you act like you're TOO GOOD for McDonalds.

So what if you are insignificant, replaceable, and unimportant? If you can buy warm blankets and food, as well save a little, it's a win.
3540  Economy / Marketplace / Re: The Bitcoin Weekly(That's the name for now) on: February 06, 2011, 11:11:55 PM
There should be a topic for computer hardware and the best software (as in most efficient, cost effective) setup for mining. I am sure there would be a few authors willing to write about that (read: me).

That could fit under the review section.

Anyway, the deadline window is closing quickly. So, anything you submitted after Monday 0:00 UTC is automatically destined for next week.
