181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit, Where Are You! on: March 22, 2018, 03:04:48 PM
Your article does not add anything new to it, not sure why you even bothered to post it in the first place Huh
Both Meta and Beginners section are filled with Merits Whining and discussions topic, no need to add more to it Smiley
Next time you might want to use Theymos's topic for Merit discussion instead
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

The application of merit is an incorrect decision. I as a new user in this forum feel unfair
You are always free to find another community Smiley
If your post are high quality you won't have any problem with Merits
182  Other / Meta / Re: Manual Merit and Automatic Activities on: March 19, 2018, 01:18:23 AM
Well, before merit there were even bigger problems: massive spam and account farming. The former is still exist but account farming is pretty much impossible to do now. All the hassle with the merit system is nothing compared to the work needed to combat spammer before the system was implemented.

I think the reason for seeing such merit threads is because, it is manually given. If it were automatically merited,  the infiltration of threads won't be here with us.
How do we automatically judge which post is merit-worthy? Super advanced AI?
I mean, Theymos did have a few thousand BTCs, that did not stop him from building advanced AI if he wish to, just like Wikipedia did to detect any possible troll edits on articles.

Merit has become a distraction to members and I'm sure to the mods too (if they would admit) because they would have had so much merit issues to deal with, from merit collaborators and related issues.
Do you rather forum filled with spammers or forum with less spammers in hand Roll Eyes
Honestly, the mods knew the risk when they signed up to be moderators nobody said it's gonna be easy.

Quote
Members now put up threads on merit issues, how to be merited and that... rather than throwing up bitcoin and related discussions.
That means you have been browsing the wrong section, I only see people protesting against Merit on Meta.

Congratulations, you just defeated the purpose of Merit System.
183  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Dev Team on: March 19, 2018, 01:01:28 AM
There's a guy here said that he has 7 Years of experience in C, might want to try to contact him
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3156060.0
Do mind that he is a brand new account, be cautious and use escrow if there are money involved here.

On the other hand, I might be able to help if you can tell me what you needed exactly for Smiley
184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: confused for wallet ETH on: March 19, 2018, 12:55:48 AM
My Ether Wallet is one of the popular one.
It is online, but you can download the whole site making it available to be accessed without internet.
When creating Ether wallet, MEW will generate wallet file onto your PC, whenever you want to access this wallet you can simply open that file using MEW.

It's safe as long as your PC are safe from Malware or Keylogger Smiley
185  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: EKEN - Warning Cloud Mining Scam on: March 19, 2018, 12:45:29 AM
Damn it....I just invested some and will watch over them now. Thanks for the warning. I hope I saw it before.
You know that you can withdraw immediately, right?
Better do it sooner than later, who knows how long this ponzi will stay afloat

very fishy, the price is too good to be true and they doesnt show their mining farm even with photos or videos. 1 TH/S just for $30 lol.

Oh anyway i found this https://www.facebook.com/eken.io/posts/2377715798922669 they will live stream their mining data center.  Roll Eyes
Probably a camera pointed at monitor or fake videos Roll Eyes
Gotta give them applause for trying though.

It is sad to see so many people on Facebook believing their words, thinking that this will get them rich or something.
I mean $300 for 10TH/s with 2 years Contract ?
Even antminer S9 priced at $1k only managed to mine at 13TH/s, what kind of black magic hardware are they using Roll Eyes
186  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Downsizing GPU farm - GPU's for SALE on: March 19, 2018, 12:20:41 AM
Have you tested the card whether it still working fine or not?
Those are nice price, especially with how GPUs are priced recently(That 1070 looks tempting to me).
Also, International or US Shipping only?
187  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to develop a mining app on: March 19, 2018, 12:03:58 AM
According to this Reddit Experiment
https://www.reddit.com/r/Electroneum/comments/7j73su/mobile_miner_hashrate_experiment/
Even the Snapdragon 835, which can be considered a high end mobile CPU only managed to get 20h/s
That is really slow, there's no way you could profit from it, not even mining Altcoins like Monero or Ethereum.
Forget about creating mining app, unless phone manufacturer decided to make phone solely for Mining Tongue

It isn't viable to mine from Android but it's quite a nice app nonetheless.
Also, there might be a way to connect a USB asic to a rooted tablet to get it to mine but it'll probably overheat or damage RAM due to the intense process needed.
I actually once tried to mine through phone, it got so hot that my phone overheats and shut itself off, the battery got bloated due to heat and I had to replace it.
Not a fun experience nonetheless.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where can I learn more about blockchain? on: March 18, 2018, 11:51:31 PM
There's a course on Lynda that will teach you about Blockchain theory.
It won't make you able to code and create your own Blockchain, but this should give you the fundamental idea of Blockchain Technology and how it works Smiley
https://www.lynda.com/Data-Science-tutorials/Blockchain-Basics/574704-2.html
https://www.lynda.com/Blockchain-tutorials/Blockchain-Beyond-Basics/636127-2.html

The teacher are easy to understand and his explanation are illustrated with animation, making it easier to understand.
189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I keep my cryptocurrency safe? on: March 18, 2018, 11:46:35 PM
In addition to the methods you mentioned, you can also spread your investments in multiple exchanges to remain safe. In case one exchange is hacked, your investment in other ones will be safe.
A loss is still a loss to me though, it'd be better to store your coins/tokens/altcoins on a Desktop wallet.
Only send amount that you are going to trade, otherwise keep it inside.

To avoid scams we have a few general rules:
Never download/install anything suspicious to add to the list
190  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Restricting accounts below "Member" from creating new threads on: March 18, 2018, 10:05:08 PM
Maybe add a new benefit to Copper Member?
Those who bought Copper Member are allowed to create topic, other than that only Member and above can post a new topic.
This won't cut spam to zero as dedicated spammers will buy Copper Member anyway, but it should reduce them (and additional funds for Forum) Roll Eyes
There will be a few sub-forum that are excluded from this rules like Meta, Beginner, and Bitcoin & Technical Support

i think the best idea is  let the mods  do the job and add more mods for specific section  to monitor the response of many new comers.   because if you restrict the account below member you put a limit  to them. as far as i know this is a forum that every body can share and can learn about bitcoin even there has many garbage threads, their account is new, evrybody here is equal. dont make their world become small.   how can you motivate them if you restrict their account. you dont the talent of every new comers here. how they can earn a merit from that specific section they want to post a thread if you restrict them.  sorry but i dis agree.

Try to motivate someone whose reason is to make money first, constructive discussion later Smiley
191  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (WIP) Community Compiled List of Sites Browser Mining on: March 18, 2018, 09:53:25 PM
btw thepiratebay.org isn't showing that there's any mining going on. I've tried all the pages until downloading the torrent file and still nothing.
I thought Piratebay stopped their miner when there's a huge community backlash against them last year?

Anyway, as I've said on my last post, here are two additional websites that uses miner, but it's optional and the user can turn them off if they want to Smiley

192  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: iptv Reseller scam on: March 18, 2018, 08:05:02 PM
He has been tagged with negative trust before by Lauda
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2027521
I don't even know why you deal with him in the first place...

Anyway, please post with this scam report format
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0

you guys should delete his post hes been posted for 1 year, so i tought it was kinda safe
Moderators does not deal with possible or confirmed scams, it is up to Bitcointalk member to use their common sense and avoid scams.

Hi Buddy i also got booked today with this same guy and i feel dumb i didnt research earlier he blocked me on +14387922931‬,
is there a way to get the money back.
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, once you sent it there's no way to reclaim it back (Unless the scammers willing to).
193  Economy / Services / Re: Rent account for Bounty without full access on: March 18, 2018, 07:09:08 PM
This forum is mainly used for discussion, making Bitcoins from Signature campaign should come second or later so that shouldn't even be a reason to start account renting (Not enough motivation and lose profit)
This looks similar to account selling, albeit under account rent disguise, DT Member are not going to like this idea and this adds unwanted spam to forum Roll Eyes
Besides, how did you guarantee that the account are not going to get stolen, it is easy to change email or password.
194  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (WIP) Community Compiled List of Sites Browser Mining on: March 18, 2018, 05:16:30 PM
Do you also need websites that asks their users to mine voluntarily or just websites that mines without their users knowing?
I know a few websites that ask their users to mine voluntarily as a donation to the website (User can opt-out if they are uncomfortable)

We can possibly contact the site owners or developers for discussion about their use/abuse of browser mining. We can avoid the sites, we can create better scripts to block their miners; the list goes on and on and other people may have a better use for this than I do.
Basically adblock 2.0, we use them to block ads and website owner started to put anti-adblock messages, and now Adblock has anti-adblock message removal Roll Eyes
195  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: SELLING TOM CLANCYS + RAINBOW SIX SIEGE UPLAY ACCOUNT on: March 18, 2018, 03:28:20 PM
Since you are obviously a newbie account literally made few hours ago.
Do you accept escrow or not, and what's your price?
196  Economy / Goods / Re: Poster printed on Metal - Good for Anime lovers and Gamers!!!! on: March 18, 2018, 01:37:17 PM
Are you one of the owner of Displate or just a fellow artist?
I've got a few questions with Displate and I'd rather ask to one of the owner directly rather than contacting them via website.

Thanks!
197  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any way to receive payments through card anonymously? on: March 18, 2018, 10:36:09 AM
Maybe you'd need to find a better client whose not charging back after the service/goods has been done  Undecided
More questions arise when your Payment Processor are giving you trouble, which it shouldn't be giving you a trouble in the first place.
Receiving payments through cards are almost impossible, Debit/Credit cards are always monitored and you are only giving yourself more problems than before.

Better to ask for Bitcoin payment and nothing else, or make a contract that once the goods/service has been delivered as per customer request there will be no chargeback filled.
You can easily put people into court with that kind of contract Roll Eyes
198  Other / Meta / Re: Why Bitcointalk forum doesn't accept image. on: March 17, 2018, 01:22:26 PM
You need to be at least Junior Member in order to be able to upload an image, if you need to upload an image right now you can buy a Copper Membership to lift some restrictions.

199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Help on: March 15, 2018, 12:37:51 PM
It has over 378 confirmations but still nothing. I do not know what to do, when I check the hash it says that it has included in a block. Do you know how long or when it will be refunded to my wallet?
378 is more than enough, by that point the receiver should confirm your coins and credit it to your account.
You said that you sent coin to someone, who did you sent it to specifically?
Give him your TX ID and ask him to check and confirm that he has received your coins, if not it is most likely that person is a fraud  Undecided
200  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned on: March 15, 2018, 12:24:10 AM
I really don't get it, Why is this account important to you? It's only a newbie with 3 post & 3 activity?
Well anyway. if there is really no email going to the account. you can ask the admin to manually send the code I think. so that they can reset your password if the email provided to that account is really smrfx@gmx.de, but if not, you can't do anything about it.
Looking at his post history, it seems OP has on-going question with IOTA Altcoins/Token, maybe that's why it is important to him.

According to Huppertshl's trust page, its password were changed recently, and since you didn't get email from Bitcointalk it is most likely your account were hacked.
Have you visited a phishing website that looks like to Bitcointalk lately, or any keylogger on your system?
Usually when account are hacked, the user need to send email to Theymos or Cyrus with a signed message, but since you didn't have any Bitcoin address posted on Huppert, signing a message is impossible.

Edit: Didn't see the date for his posts, whoops
