201  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: P4ay.com Any reviews or comments about this site? on: March 15, 2018, 12:08:53 AM
To add suspicion from Timerland's comment.
According to whois the domain is farily new, it's from December 2017, always be cautious when dealing with a new domain/owner.
Website looks 'meh' at best, and reviews looks fake and shady.

I don't know how OP managed to find this website to begin with, I tried to do google search and this is the only discussion about P4ay.com Tongue
Anyway, New website + Suspicious rates are a no go.
202  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: billy.ryoko PM phising scam attempt on: March 14, 2018, 03:30:15 AM
Must be a hacked account, password were changed recently.
Also, the post made on 13th of March looks linked to his original Twitter/Facebook account (Both have Billy name on it).
And by looking at the time the PM were sent, it was hacked very recent, maybe under 24 Hours Roll Eyes

Anyway, tagged but since I'm not a DT it won't show up publicly
203  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Debit Card on: March 14, 2018, 03:15:06 AM
Quote
If you get this card, you could withdraw from any atm in the us correct?
That, and most of retailers that accepts debit card as form of payment

Quote
What are the limits per day, week, month etc?  Also is the btc rate good?  What about the fees?  Is it better/worst or much better/worst than as oppose you use coinbase/gdax or gemini to withdraw to my bank account?
This all depends on your Debit Card provider. We have Bitpay, Advcash, Xapo, Wire-x, etc.
Each debit card provider has their own rules, regulations, fees, and rates. You will have to check each website and compare which one is the best for you, although usually their rates and fees doesn't have any major differences.

Quote
The other thing is could you use it outside the US and withdraw money in another currency?  Would you guys recommend the bitpay debit card?  What other bitcoin debit card would you recommend?
Bitcoin Debit Card either has Visa or Mastercard logo on it, meaning as long as your retailer or atm accepts Visa/Mastercard you are good to go.
Bitpay only servers US based customer, if you're not in US you need to look elsewhere. Most of bitcoin debit card will require verification and only serves either US or Europe region after Wavecrest started blocking card outside US or Europe.
204  Other / Meta / Re: Copy Poster on: March 12, 2018, 01:19:28 AM
To add to Darkstar's post, copy and pasting report should be made in public so DT Member can -neg it.
Abhisek's post are confirmed copy and pasting with just added emoticon, at least he didn't use a bot for it, I expected someone who copy and paste to use bot to ease them on their "job" Tongue
I've -neg and notified his Signature Campaign manager, but since I'm not on DT my trust rating won't appear on his profile.

I assume, who can't permaban.
I'm pretty sure Mods can do permaban, or is it global mods?
205  Other / Meta / Re: what is my mistake? on: March 12, 2018, 01:01:57 AM
But, in OP's case he never posted a Bitcoin address, from surfing through his post history all I did see is that he only ever posted two ETH addresses.
Any possibilities for you to make an exception? If not OP's account can be considered gone without any Bitcoin address to make a signed messages.
Creating ETH signed message are the same as creating Bitcoin Signed message, user need to be in possession of their ETH private key before signing a message, so theoretically it should be as safe as Bitcoin signed message.
206  Other / Meta / Re: THEYMOS , CYRUS = Scammers on: March 12, 2018, 12:48:56 AM
Calling them scammers are not a good idea, don't expect any help from them if they read it  Undecided
As for your case, 6 weeks are still normal, people are waiting for months for them to answer PMs and believe it or not, your PM are not the only request that they've received daily.
good luck recovering your account dude, if I were either of them I would probably be offended and refuse to restore your account.
207  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: what (prepaid/credit/virtual) card are allowed to be linked to paypal on: March 12, 2018, 12:37:58 AM
From my experience you can pretty much use any cards and Paypal will accept it.
I never heard an issue with Crypto Debit card and Paypal mixed together under one Paypal account, but do mind that Paypal might freeze your account and ask for a bank statement linked to your card.
This is a problem if you use prepaid or virtual card as there are no bank statement to be made.
Try it at your own risk, I personally wouldn't try it with how itchy paypal's finger on its freeze button Roll Eyes
208  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: instawallet claim on: March 11, 2018, 06:43:16 PM
His last active are on 9 March, at least he sees a notification from TryNinja.
Try to send him few more PMs, if he doesn't answer then you might consider that Boussac doesn't accept claims anymore, which is fair because it's already 5 years.
How much did you lost exactly anyway?
209  Other / Meta / Re: what is my mistake? on: March 11, 2018, 06:12:08 PM
Upon searching from your post, this is the only address I managed to find
hi dev, this is my EtherWallet  Wink
0xbC119335051E4D09692F9393046ab3babD78800D

Sign a message using that Ether address with format that Mprep Gave to you above, after that send it either to Theymos or Cyrus to be recovered, expect a long time for a reply.
210  Other / Meta / Re: Forum account needs to be KYC on: March 11, 2018, 05:36:08 PM
In fact I did not think so much before this post. But the way a multi-account is being created, bad situation will be created. Two months ago I saw 1.3 million members of the forum and now about 2 million members. How is this possible?
Everything has been done for the bounty. Anyway, the moderator should be more stricter, otherwise Crypto may have some more bad effects on the market.
Bitcointalk does not affect the market, at least directly.

My idea to potentially stops alt account is to close registration to public, instead every new member will need to be invited by current members in order to join.
This should stop alt account to be easily join the forum, the referer's name will be put on public, so we know whose this potential alt/scam account belongs to.
Of course, people will start selling invites to the forum now just like merit being sold on Local Section Roll Eyes
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where did wallets store bitcoins ? on: March 11, 2018, 11:56:24 AM
Quote
that's means I don't have to worry if my phone damaged or gone to space as long as I have the recover key Grin
This is a common sense, but If you are selling your phone ALWAYS format your phone completely to minimize a chance that someone will have access your wallet.
Also, all modern phone now have applocker to put an extra security from meddling hands, use them (Especially if your phone has finger print scanner).

Quote
I had this idea before "putting my money on the exchange to sell and buy and also to store them" but now I will take your advice to store them away  Shocked
Exchange tend to get hacked or running away with their customer's money, that's why only send amount that you wish to exchange and then withdraw it immediately.
212  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paid too much, what happens now? on: March 11, 2018, 11:37:59 AM
Please advise me what action should I now take?
From their website it says that they have Support dedicated to Financial issues, did you try to contact that one?
For now try holding it, there's no way they would just let 2 Bitcoins to be given away to their customer  Embarrassed
But, if they did not interested on those coins anymore you might want to donate it to charity on their name Roll Eyes
213  Other / Meta / Re: Forum account needs to be KYC on: March 10, 2018, 08:45:01 PM
This has been discussed before, Theymos values privacy and anonymitiy and he's never going to add mandatory KYC to the forum.
Not only he values privacy and anonymity, there's also a problem in storing the KYC's data from the hands of meddling hackers.
There's also a problem with trust, I personally wouldn't trust anyone with my info, that's why I never verified my account on Wire-x or Cryptopay.

All in all, KYC on forum will be impossible to maintain and implement.
214  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wallet and bitcoin segwit wallet on: March 10, 2018, 08:07:55 PM
Yes you are able to switch to using segwit enabled wallet and send your bitcoin to it, but it will cost you some fees, because of big centrelized wallet services like Coinbase and Blockchain who have not yet supported it, switching from them to a segwit wallet will come at a cost, your transactions may have lower transaction time and lower fees, but you are going have to buy a harware wallet like LegerNano S or Trezor who supports this technology.
Switching to Segwit will save you money in long term, especially if you send coins daily.
Blockchain itself hasn't supported Segwit yet(You can't search Segwit address on Blockchain), but it's just a minor problem as there are Segwit block explorer already.
Transaction time are still the same as your transactions will need to be included to a block, just like non-Segwit transactions.
Segwit are currently supported by Electrum, don't buy yourself a hardware wallet if your goal is simply just to taste Segwit.

Im thinking if i need to change my wallet to a btc wallet with a segwit.
Whats the difference between btc wallet and btc wallet with segwit? Is it possible to transfer btc from my btc wallet to btc segwit wallet? Is it better to use the wallet with segwit?
Just create and send your coins to a Segwit address as usual, it's good for the Mempool and your TX Fee Smiley
215  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The best mixer for BTC? on: March 10, 2018, 12:32:26 AM
Actually www.mixercrypto.com is the best mixer.
0.5% fee, transactions safer and untraceable.
Not only you bumped an old topic, you got the nerve to spam and promote your Mixer.
Becareful with this Mixer, they are stealing Cryptomixer's design
216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain explorer on local computer? on: March 10, 2018, 12:19:04 AM
Most of Blockchain Explorer are currently Web based, it's very rare to find an Program/App for PC.
With google searches I were unable to find App-based Blockchain Explorer except this one Github Project
https://github.com/iquidus/explorer
Use at your own risk though

Any particular reasons why do you want a program instead of web based explorer?
Web based can be accessed easily in just a few clicks Smiley
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where did wallets store bitcoins ? on: March 09, 2018, 10:09:57 PM

At first , I know there is cold and worm wallet.
The cold is a hardware that store coins in it
And the warm is a software or a site on internet that store coins on internet or in the laptop or mobile ( is what I already know right ?)
Close but a little bit wrong.
A cold storage is a method to keep your Bitcoin offline from the internet, usually used when you are holding a large sum of bitcoins as a security measure.
Bitcoin based company such as Bitpay, Coinbase, etc. Usually has Both Cold and Hot wallet, Hot wallet will be used for their daily transactions while Cold Wallet will be used as their collateral and reserves in case their website got hacked and all of their Hot wallet get stolen.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Cold_storage
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Hot_wallet <<< For reference.

Quote
But what I'm trying to know about soft wallets like Bitpay, Enjin or BitCoin Core wallets , do they store bitcoins on the device or on internet ?
Bitpay uses Both Cold and Hot Wallet, as I've said above.
I don't know anything about Enjin.
Bitcoin Core wallet needs to be connected to Internet to be used, so it is a Hot wallet, although you can save your Wallet file to be used as Cold Storage.

Quote
So if l have bitcoins in my mobile wallet and the mobile drop in water and gone!, did the coins gone too or I can get them back in a new mobile by the recovery key?
As long as you have either the Wallet file or Seed/Mnemonic Phrase Backed up somewhere you are safe.

And I'm sorry for my weak English
I've seen worse Roll Eyes

1-Should I consider buying a hardware wallet?
If you see it necessary, Hardware wallet are cheaper nowadays than two years ago, but as long as you keep your PC secure a desktop wallet is enough.

Quote
2-I'm currently using Windows for wallet, should I switch to Linux?
I'm using Windows and had no problem with my wallet being stolen so far.
Windows 10 has a pretty neat security, as long as you didn't install sketchy program you should be fine.
But, if you want to be really safe, you can just dual boot your PC with Linux and Windows ( or completely change your everyday OS to Linux)

Quote
3-What additional measures should I take?
Don't install sketchy programs, always check your PC for Malware (I did this daily), use common sense before doing anything is by far the best measures against Malware or scams.
219  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC PAYMENTS ON MY WEBPAGE! on: March 09, 2018, 10:00:01 AM
Do people who don't use Bitcoin pay for your legal services online? If not, it's much easier to let them contact you.
You can't just upload one QR-code: you'll never know who paid you!

I would only automate this if you have many customers paying through Bitcoin.
Agree with Loyce, Business usually uses External Payment Processor because they receives dozens of orders daily.
Since you are working a lawyer I doubt you will have dozens of client at one time, making External Payment Processor unnecessary to use and maintain.

If your client wants to pay in Bitcoin, you can just contact your client and give them your Bitcoin address, once you've received confirmations from Blockchain it means your coins have been sent into your wallet Smiley
Many small business still using "BTC accepted here" image, so it shouldn't be a problem for you.
220  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can I shut down Electrum immediately after clicking the Send button? on: March 08, 2018, 10:51:27 AM
How do I know if I have set my fees to be too low?

unless if you have too low fees because you have to open your electrum again then use the RBF feature.

If I enable the RBF feature, does Electrum adjust the fees for me or do I have to input my fee manually?
Here's average Bitcoin's transaction fee
https://bitcoinfees.info/
Electrum has a slider that sets how long do you want to wait for your transaction to confirm, the more right the slider goes the faster the transaction will receive confirmation, and vice versa.

RBF (Replace By Fee) is a feature used if your transaction fee are too low.
Essentially it will use some of the coins that you have sent as transaction fee.

If you want to set fee Manually, electrum has that feature on the options Smiley
