1841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you read about crypto? Favorite sources? on: April 10, 2020, 07:25:41 AM
Cointelegraph has always been my favourite source for getting news on cryptocurrency and also for doing other research and getting know things about technical analysis and where the price of certain cryptocurrencies are moving to, especially Bitcoin. Then I got to know about CCN (Crypto Coins News) when I started playing with faucets; they had their own faucet that I liked then and it was among my favourite faucets, that’s the only reason I visited their site and not for any other purpose.

Coindesk is another good site that I got to discover recently and it’s really good.
1842  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: April 07, 2020, 09:08:05 PM
Manchester City won the game against Liverpool SLR, the game ended 2-1. Honestly it doesn't really change the fact that I can't really gamble on these games, this is maybe an exception because Liverpool, no matter how good they are, MAY lose to City, Liverpool could lose to anyone actually evidently from Watford game but when it is SLR it feels like not the same thing and anything could happen, it is not feeling as real and that is why I could see any team beating any other team and that makes me stay away from gambling on it.

I would prefer to wait for some real games to start back up before I can gamble on these. However when famous people play, like the 2K league they are doing right now, it is nice to gamble on them, because I know those people and it is fun to watch it.
Isn't that some sort of the fun? I mean I get that you may not like to wager on them because you have no clue whats going to happen, you have no idea how well the teams are, this is not regular football where you know the talents of football players and know the coach and manager and basically assume what will happen, this is esports so anything could happen and anyone could potentially beat anyone, even an amateur can get lucky and somehow beat a pro sometimes (even though its quite rare).

But, isn't that the thing that makes it even more fun to watch? I mean if you have zero clue about who will win and zero clue about which team is better than the other, you are basically walking into the game all blind expecting absolutely nothing and every single minute of whatever happens is a great joy. At least to me its like that.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the safest crypto online games to start if you are a Newbie? on: April 07, 2020, 08:39:59 PM
I think dice is a good option for gamblers who are new to online gambling, it is one of the most easiest game to learn and it is not that difficult to verify the betting result on dice using the provably fair tools on reputable dice sites. With the provably fair system set in place, gamblers who are new to online gambling would be able to know they are playing the dice game fairly against the casino.
If you trust the verification tools of the casino then I think you should directly trust the bets itself. No?

Anyway I think while verifying bets is a tricky part because not everyone new has as much attention and understanding of the server and client seed but yes if verification part is left alone, dice indeed is the best possible game for someone new to gambling. Another good gambling option for most new gamblers is slots because almost everyone has heard of slots somewhere and it is just easy to pick lines in the slots and make your bets. Although slots have a bigger edge than most games but it is pretty simple as you just have to wager and wait for result. Sports betting can be easy too unless you are betting on tricky markets like Asian handicap which not everyone is aware of what it means like if I am not wrong under 1.75 in Asian handicap means if 2 goals happen you get half your wager back.
1844  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency can not replace fiat currency. on: April 07, 2020, 07:55:38 PM
as long as fiat currency still exists, then cryptocurrency will be an alternative, it is indeed very difficult to form this world revolution, but the opportunity for cryptocurrency is still there, if the crypto currency is supported by many countries I am sure FIAT will lose
Yes, cryptocurrency is not going to replace our current monetary system, but the government might combine it in the future. Lots of countries might create their own cryptocurrency and it will be as an asset that you will buy from your bank just like you can buy foreign currencies from your banks; a new law in Germany will even be allowing banks to buy and sell cryptocurrency to their customers.

So, it’s not going to be any replacement. And moreover when that time comes, it’s not going to be Bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies that we are seeing now that are going to be the replacement, government will create their own cryptocurrencies that will be stable.
1845  Economy / Economics / Re: How long this crisis will be? on: April 07, 2020, 07:09:30 PM
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, yes this is a crisis and yes it will be bad but to call it "worse than what happened after world war 2" would be really snide and means you have no idea what the life was like during those times.

We are talking about a period when technology wasn't even remotely close to what it is today, the baby steps of what a computer will be in the end was taken just recently and compared to that to now when people could realistic send people to mars if they want to (but not sure if it will be successful or a big fail so they are not ) is really not all that sensible. Let's realize that we are living in a world of many and yes there will be people who will suffer, way before any of this started there were people suffering already as well, but also realize that civilized world will be fine.
1846  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Crypto Jobs 2020 on: April 07, 2020, 06:08:46 PM
I think Xapo and Exodus also have some open positions. I can remember that there was this open position I saw on Xapo for QA specialists and the good thing about Xapo is that most of their open positions are remote jobs, they employ workers from around the world and you can work from your home. That’s really nice, it’s not every company that does, just a few of them.

There are lots of other positions that are open in Xapo, then Exodus also have lots of open positions for software engineers. Luno also has open positions, but I noticed that you will have to be working in their office, so their jobs are not remote jobs. They have office in UK, South Africa, Nigeria, and some other countries. Another crypto company that has open position is Blockchain. Only Xapo and Exodus are the ones that I have seen that are offering remote jobs.
1847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is USDT trusted to use? on: April 07, 2020, 01:26:54 PM
To "use" tether, you do not need to trust it. So, you may make use of it for your trading like for locking profits from cryptos and to buy back cryptos. But, never ever plan up to use tethers for long term holding. Because, tether is issued by some company and they may face legal problems at any times. Still, as of now it is proven that tether is safe to use.

I am using usdt while I am selling my bitcoins in P2P platform. The maximum holding period of usdt is 1 hour to 3 hours so I guess I am making use of tether in safer mode.
1848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will stablecoins be the future of cryptocurrency? on: April 07, 2020, 09:38:15 AM
I like the concept of stable coins but none of the such coins are seeming legit as per my study. Here I am really afraid of most of the stablecoins currently in the market may end up like how liberty reserve was seized by US governments. So far all the stable coins in crypto space are just corporate coin which may plan up exit scam unlike most other decentralized coins are doing. Yes, I look for decentralized stable coins which only can survive beyond government regulations.

We cannot assume all the stablecoins are future of this cryptocurrency space; only very few may sustain along with us to serve us. But we cannot predict which is going to stay and it is going to die because we are still in the early stages of stablecoins era. But, I am expecting the decentralized stablecoins to be launched soon.
1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggestions for online gamblers on: April 06, 2020, 04:52:02 PM
I like this community I always saw a thread like this that always reminds people to avoid addiction. We are very lucky here that we are always reminded of each other sharing ideas like this. Perhaps a gambler that came from this community will never be addicted because you can apply these kinds of suggestion, --if you are solely in gambling. Indeed, these are nonsense if you did not apply in your self.
Still what were the use of those threads because we are continuously seeing a lot of people are still getting gambling addiction and losing their hard earned money. I mean to say these kind of discussions will not stop those gamblers but they will learn their lessons by their own way. I am not saying that we do not need such threads but I feel only part of this community acts in responsible way and rest of community never understand their own responsibilities.

These threads will serve its original purposes only when we trigger gambler to start realizing their life's responsibilities. Only for a responsible gambler, being controlled while gambling will be possible like OP suggested. The first thing is enabling this community to realize their responsibility as a gambler then suggestions to them wills tart working.
1850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Memory lane (best match you gambled on) on: April 05, 2020, 08:49:01 PM
In 2016, I made my biggest bet and lost $12000 in single game. The betting choices was over 3 Asian handicap total goals. Unfortunately, the match result ended with 2-0 score and I lost all my balance in single bet just for fun. Stubborn people should stay away from gambling/betting.
Betting 12 grands on a single game is actually pretty amazing and I never made that big of a single bet I believe and yeah when we bet for over x.5 goals then it always feel like time is running away and panic happens. I almost never bet on over goals because I feel like it's much easier to pray/expect goals not to happen rather than more goals to happen.

For me it was a cricket match, I never had a big amount on it but the match itself is still fresh in my memory, I made a bet for England to win the world cup and I still remember I was almost frozen during the super over that was itself tied and how the extra runs were given and what all happened, I recommend any cricket fans to just watch it, that's out of this world!
1851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling a threat or fun? on: April 05, 2020, 07:43:47 PM
For some people it is a threat, it could ruin your life, you can spend your rent money, your bill money, your food money on gambling and still go on, for some people it is just fun, you can play for a while and stop whenever you want. It all depends on how you approach it. There was an experiment with mouses for cocaine addiction, I know they are not similar and gambling addiction is totally different but the idea that an addiction could ruin your life stands.

In this experiment a mouse was given an option for food and an option for cocaine, it had to pick one of them, and just like a regular mouse it picked food first, however one day it tried cocaine because it didn't know what it was and checked it, after that mouse always picked cocaine until it died from starvation, it literally rather get it is cocaine than eat and it resulted of the mouse to die from starvation.

Addicts would pick their addiction over anything else, that is why it is important to see an addiction and admit having one and go seek help for it.
1852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are calling projects as scam when they are in a bear market? on: April 05, 2020, 07:11:03 PM
Has anyone imagined that even bitcoin gets called scam so maybe it is normal that others would get called scam as well? There are countless amount of people who call bitcoin a scam and calls it "a way some people are making money from the gullible" like they think people buy bitcoin from one source without really knowing what bitcoin is.

So, when you think about it, it is normal that altcoins and specifically smaller timers do get some sort of scam calling because that is how the world works, when people can't make money from it either because they didn't invested or maybe invested but lost, they will call it a scam. Some of the projects could turn out to be scams, some of them could turn out to be bad teams and creators, some of them are innocent but all will be called scam since that's what people do.
1853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: List of cryptocurrency exchange hacks on: April 05, 2020, 06:33:43 PM
Oh my god I am so old, I remember almost all of them. I am going to be honest I do not remember bitcoin7 hacking but to be honest I do not remember hearing about bitcoin7 at all in general as an exchange, like some of the ones here.

However I remember from bitcoinica to this day, it feels like its been just yesterday but the reality is its been almost 8 years. All of them were very very important of course but the most important one will always be mt.gox one because that literally destroyed the whole crypto world for a while, think about like 10 million bitcoins all stolen right now, all gone and nobody spends it and its basically locked and gone, do you know how much it would affect the whole world? We are talking about something as big as binance+bittrex+coinbase all getting hacked together at the same time if it was today.
1854  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not as risky as many think. on: April 05, 2020, 08:08:14 AM
The reasons that has been stated in the article is not enough to prove that Bitcoin is not risky asset.
They are only wrong by saying that Bitcoin is a scam. When it comes to being risky Bitcoin is a very risky asset due to its rate of volatility.

You do know that the price can drop at anytime and people will lose their money. You can compare with what happened in 2017 when a lot of people that the price of bitcoin would go up and instead of an increase what they had was a huge decrease. And like that's not enough, the price continued going down even after that in 2018, and in 2019 as well; the increase we had in 2019 was disrupted by this pandemic.
1855  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading vs. Investing. on: April 05, 2020, 06:46:55 AM
Trading is good but it’s all about knowing how to trade. It’s not easy, and a few times that I have tried short term trading it usually gets things messed up and I lose money. I have also tried to follow some of these trade signals and it turned out that they are mainly scammers, they don’t give you the accurate signal, so what’s the need for it? Even the ones I see on Twitter are fake , and there is a recent news of one of them Photo-shopping his trades lol, so that he can get followers.

When it comes to trading, it’s best to do your best and learn everything, so that you wouldn’t be needing the help of anyone in doing it, seriously if you keep relying on all these people or trade bots, you will achieve nothing, unless you’re just lucky.
But, I see investment as a normal thing that anyone that joins this community is going to start with; when you join the cryptocurrency community the first thing you do is to invest and after that you start trading with your money and you don't even trade with all the money as some of them lies as an investment in your wallet till the time you want to withdraw them to fiat. And talking about trading , it's not so easy, especially if you're the type that will be relying on bots or some influencers and technical analysts.

Anyone that wants to be a trader should first learn how to do technical analysis and other important skills that are need for trading before they start trading. If it's not going to be that way you're just going to keep on losing your money.
1856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the heck is happening to new projects? on: April 04, 2020, 03:18:05 PM
You guys think maybe it is because its quite easy to get funding for the projects? I mean it looks like maybe we are making things quite easy for the projects and that is why there are very low effort scam projects that still pops up all the time?

Let's say you are creating a new coin, you are offering it on some ICO or whatever, people are paying money to you to get that coin "cheap" (which the price will be even lesser after day 1) and you get the money, on top of that you just give more of that coin for free to people who promote it, so your coin gets a bit of famous as well, all in all you spent nothing but a made up coin you will give out but you both got money for free and also got promoted and now have a community. It is too easy to scam like that nowadays.
1857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of cryptocurrency during this pandemic on: April 04, 2020, 02:04:46 PM
i think the crypo world has clamored for this situation for a while. A world where the fiat system is no-longer stable. if not mistaken, i will say that the world is heading into a  serious health crisis with what is happening in china, italy, spain and other parts of the world. many countries has promised their citizens of enough fiat funding printing more fiat money to support themselves.
What is the cryptocurrency family doing to support their own community at this perilous time.
Your last question was kind of funny though lol. Cryptocurrency community doesn’t have any organization that controls it or stays at the top and gives order on what should be done.

So, what exactly are you trying to say, where are you heading to question? Are you trying to say that cryptocurrency should be doing something like providing money? Because that’s not possible. Supporting in situations like these is up to organizations and platforms we have here; for example Binance or Coinbase may decide to donate money to Red Cross, by doing that they are representing the whole cryptocurrency community.
1858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to try yourself in trading and investing on the crypto. on: April 04, 2020, 01:34:55 PM
Possibly there are ways that newbies canpractice cryptocurrency trading, but they are not going to be getting any money by using demo accounts. It’s just like in options trading; sites like IqOption allows users to switch from real account to demo account, the demo account has fake 1,000 USD in it that they can use for practicing trading but they wouldn’t make any real profit till they switch back to real account and invest real money.

For newbies that are interested cryptocurrency trading, I don’t think there is any other way that they can do this, because practicing a demo account would be like a waste of time if they are in need of money.
1859  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Problem with cashing out to fiat on: April 04, 2020, 12:54:44 PM
This is one of those weird trolling messages that people talk about, hmm interesting. I have heard of them before but I never really saw one before today. Honestly, I have been around internter for over 20 years now so it feels like I have seen so much more than this that quality of this looks to be lacking a bit.

I don't mean any harm, sure there was some work put into it and kudos, not a bad trolling message, could probably pass with like 6/10 if people didn't know it was a troll, but looks too much like a troll so it gets like a 3/10 or maybe 4/10 at best this way. What I would suggest is to make it a bit more realistic, remove the grater part and maybe you can have yourself a decent one, that way you can actually look a bit more realistic than this. Grater really kills it honestly.
1860  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term investment vs. Swing trading vs. Daily trading on: April 04, 2020, 10:55:05 AM
I am more into Long term investment (HODL) and when I invest in Bitcoin I don't put a specific time when I'm going to be selling the coins, I just hold them till the price goes up and I start making profit. Just like in 2017, I didn't invest earlier; my investment was around ending of the Q2, but the price still went up very high around December and I had no other choice than to sell those coins and withdraw my money since the price is up.

Imagine that I decided to leave the money for up to two years or three years, I would have missed that opportunity. Maybe that's a swing trade as you called it, but my intention was to hold for a long time, but whereas the opportunity came out, I had to take it.
