101  Economy / Speculation / Re: BETI: Bitcoin Exponential Trend Index and technical analysis on: May 07, 2017, 06:32:22 AM
jl, I see previous bull market support between -0.5 and -0.25, so I assume that is our next resistance.

What is the approximate price around that zone, if possible?

Cheers!

-0.5: e^-0.5 * 3581.65 = 2172
-0.25: e^-0.25 * 3581.65 = 2789

I think this is a reasonable target for the ATH of this cycle

Yes, thank you jl2012 for one of the very best and helpful (long-term context providing) threads on this board.

You used to update a graph (as per OP) that, apart from price and regression line, showed the expected price of any day based on the best regression line up to that day. I thought that interesting. If you get the time and inclination, could you perhaps update it again at some point?

TIA

Please see last page. This chart doesn't need to update every day as it makes very small difference

BETI has been making higher highs and higher lows since the bottom around Sept 2015. Yesterday it was -0.879. It is a resistance and support level historically, so I expect we will see some resistance here. As long as it does not go below $1000, it's still making a higher low and the upward trend is still intact.

Let me know if you need help

Segwit dev here.

Who is maintaining the p2pool for litecoin? As segwit will activate in 2 weeks, p2pool upgrade is needed

I'm working on the segwit PR which already supports litecoin.

Would be awesome to get some testing for Veqtrus's PR on LiteCoin, I googled a little and found a couple LiteCoin node scanners that show no LiteCoin nodes, best I can tell there are around 10 active LiteCoin P2Pool nodes, if anyone wants to try to reach out to them heres a few I tracked down:

114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: @RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC. on: March 23, 2017, 04:20:57 AM
I think the idea is that they would want to lock the coins in place before any fork happens. Your plan seems like it requires the fork to have already happened.

This is not possible without a replay protection, which BU refuses to include

It is possible to lock your coins in escrow before the fork. It isn't possible to do an atomic swap between the Bitcoin chain and an altcoin chain that doesn't exist yet.

Apparently Loaded doesn't want to trust any escrow for 60k BTC.

And you could solve any problem in a decentralized system with a centralized solution (e.g. escrow). It's just not very interesting.
115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: @RogerVer lets make a deal. At least 60k, my BTU for your BTC. on: March 22, 2017, 09:51:35 AM

Edit:

Step 3: When the tx in step 2 is sufficiently confirmed (number of blocks to be determined), Loaded will send 60000 BTU tokens to the following P2SH address:

Reddit seems to have caught that post in a spam filter, it shows up when I'm logged in. I lost the password to my other reddit account.

60K is personal holdings, possibly up to an additional 70K in client funds depending on their sentiment, which pretty strongly leans Core.

Escrow wise, I would hope someone could come up with an atomic swap method.

No split, no transaction. If there is a split, I'd love to double up.

Step 1: Roger will generate a secret random value

Step 2: On the original chain, Roger will send 60000 tokens to the following P2SH address:
Code:
IF <100> CSV DROP <Roger's key> ELSE HASH256 <Hash of Roger's secret> EQUALVERIFY <Loaded's key> ENDIF CHECKSIG

Step 3: When the tx in step 2 is sufficiently confirmed (number of blocks to be determined), Loaded will send 60000 BTU tokens to the following P2SH address:
Code:
IF <10> CSV DROP <Loaded's key> ELSE HASH256 <Hash of Roger's secret> EQUALVERIFY <Roger's key> ENDIF CHECKSIG

Step 4: If Roger is satisfied with the transaction of step 3, he will collect 60000 BTU with the following signature (in not more than 10 blocks of time)
Code:
<Roger's sig> <Roger's secret> 0

Step 5: Loaded will collect 60000 original BTC tokens with the following signature
Code:
<Loaded's sig> <Roger's secret> 0

---------

In case Loaded failed to do step 3, Roger will be able to get his BTC back after 100 BTC blocks

In case Roger failed to do step 4, Loaded will be able to get his BTU back after 10 BTU blocks

You'd better try this on testnet before using real money

You may also want to consider Bitcoin Unlimited. It is currently compatible with Bitcoin Core.  If, in the future, there is a decision to allow larger blocks in the blockchain, Bitcoin Unlimited is already ready to accept them.

BU nodes got banned because of relaying the block with excessive size
119  Economy / Speculation / Re: BETI: Bitcoin Exponential Trend Index and technical analysis on: February 24, 2017, 07:06:48 AM
^^^Well, based on comparison with 2011-2013 we are coming up shallower, but had a couple of sharp bumpletts already.
Most likely scenarios:
1. we are about to undergo a "phase transition" and go for a sharp local super-exponential peak OR
2. wiggle down to -1.2-1.25 before doing #1

Both scenarios would favor long positions, but wiggle down to $800-900 might be possible on ETF rejection, for example, which would be hopefully dismissed by the market.
jl2012 provides numbers for the all-time high, but I am curious, what would 1 or 1.5 peak look like in current numbers (1.87 might be too extreme).

the formula for BETI = x is: 3166.72 * e ^ x. For x = 1, it's $8608
