1481  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory Wallet stuck in Sync mode? on: June 30, 2020, 09:33:35 AM
It would appear so, but the date of 2017 has me confused as I have sync'd Armory since then and move coins in/out?

https://imgur.com/a/NzaEzsL

That's fine.
But there are morethan just those 10 block files, right? How large is the whole blocks folder?

And also, can you confirm that you are using the latest version / have upgraded (https://btcarmory.com/)?

Your files show you're running Armory Version 0.96.4 - this is not the newest Armory release.
Have you tried Armory Version 0.96.5?
1482  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet 1.0 Is Released on: June 29, 2020, 09:25:14 PM
Hello i dont set pasword in wallet0 in wasabi when i created. I can set pasword now? i dont found where.

No you can not.

The password is not used to encrypt your wallet file, but to encrypt your seed (from which all private keys are derived).
Setting a password now would mean that you receive new private keys and therefore new addresses.

What you can do, is to restore a new wallet using the same mnemonic code and adding the password.
You will have a "fresh" wallet with no balance. Then you can send everything from your "old" wallet to your new wallet.
1483  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ⚡️LightningVoucher—A banknote base on BTC LightningNetwork⚡️ on: June 29, 2020, 01:38:04 PM
You could scan the QR code from the LightningVoucher to recieve the Sats!

Or you could simply use your smart phone.
I don't get the reason why something physical (printed) is necessary for that.

What would be the benefit compared to a LN transaction?
1484  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it possible to broadcast a Tx while Electrum is offline? No! on: June 29, 2020, 11:41:30 AM
Just to double check.

Wallet > Information > I get the master public key

Please confirm

Yes.

I can restore the wallet with this public key but it's a watch only wallet and I can have it in the online device. I think I have a clear idea now.

Yes. This watch-only wallet will only allow you to derive public keys (and addresses). This means you can see the whole balance, generate new addresses and create unsigned transactions.

You basically want to use that wallet for:
  • Creating a new address
  • Checking you received a transaction
  • Create an unsigned transaction
  • Broadcast the signed transaction

Your offline wallet (containing the private keys) does:
  • Sign the unsigned transaction
1485  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is it possible to broadcast a Tx while Electrum is offline? No! on: June 29, 2020, 11:21:55 AM
1. Create a wallet while my device is not connected online.
2. Save the seed somewhere offline.

You shouldn't be doing that.
Instead, generate your seed and mnemonic code while being offline.

You could just use a usb-bootable linux distro with electrum (verify the signature) to create your seed completely offline.

Further, it also is not necessary to go online with the device containing the private keys.
You can use a watch-only wallet on your online device. Just import the master public key into your online electrum wallet. You will see your balance and can create new addresses. You just can't spend from them.
With this watch-only wallet you are able to create unsigned transactions, move them to your offline device, sign them there and move them back to your online device.

This way your private keys are never exposed on an network-connected device.

1486  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain wallet shows innsufficient funds when trynig to send btc on: June 29, 2020, 11:13:24 AM
~snip~

He already imported his mnemonic code, but ended up with an "empty" wallet, most likely due to chosing a wrong derivation path.
This is currently being discussed in the local board.
1487  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Blockchain Unzureichendes Guthaben, obwohl Guthaben vorhanden on: June 29, 2020, 11:12:12 AM

1488  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer/Impersonator hip3r/bizoxi/elmanchez on: June 29, 2020, 10:23:52 AM
So you trying to tell me that screenshots from telegram could be fake, but screenshots from PMs cannot be fake ? Cheesy

Screenshots can always be faked.

I mean if you delete your PM's or the scammer deletes it, mod can verify it ? Cheesy

If person A sends person B a private message and deletes it afterwards, the message still remains in the inbox of the recipient (just like with emails).
When you report a PM to a moderator, he will see its content.

So, yes. A moderator can verify PM's.
1489  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Blockchain Unzureichendes Guthaben, obwohl Guthaben vorhanden on: June 28, 2020, 10:39:17 PM

1491  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Blockchain Unzureichendes Guthaben, obwohl Guthaben vorhanden on: June 28, 2020, 09:43:22 PM
Benutzt du eine eigene Wallet und hast Zugriff auf deinen private key oder befinden sich deine Coins auf einer Onlinewallet?

Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass er mit "Blockchain", das blockchain.com web wallet meint.

@OP:

1492  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Why not integrate Tor into Electrum by default? on: June 28, 2020, 12:20:22 PM
in any case i am wondering about BIP158 and how much privacy does that offer in practice since it seems to only make it harder to analyze not impossible. and more importantly how does the implementation deal with this BIP since i have yet to dissect Wasabi

Generally, the privacy is definitely better than with BIP37. However it still depends on the implementation on how much better it is.
Not leaking your wallet addresses, but downloading full blocks from nodes in the bitcoin p2p network, already makes it much better.

Obviously, there would be some attacks like monitoring which blocks are being downloaded and compare that to the transaction graph as mentioned in the bitconi-dev mailing list.
However, by connecting via TOR, downloading each block from a different node through a new circuit (what wasabi is actually doing), as well as choosing an appropriate false positive rate (for downloading blocks which do not contain any address of yours), that's a huge gain in privacy since a simple comparison to the transaction graph is not that easily possible anymore (downloaded via different IP's / tor circuits & downloaded from different nodes & false positive rate).

With that, it is no longer trivial to establish a connection between a specific wallet and its addresses.
1493  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Running personal server for Electrum on: June 28, 2020, 10:20:33 AM
Also the CoinJoin itself needs improvements I guess. If you close your application after enqueuing your coins then you are lost again. You can not close your application until the entire CoinJoin is done.

It is required for you to keep the application open because you are required to sign the given transaction in a timely manner.
Every participant has to sign the transaction. Enqueuing and closing the wallet won't work.

That's why you need to confirm your input during the registration phase.
Once the time is over (or an anonymity set of 100 is reached), every user connects to a new tor circuit and sends the coordinator the output address and the blind signature.
After all participants did that, the coordinator builds the transaction and everyone has to sign it.

Since this is an interactive process, you need to be online when the mixing happens.
If you queue in right before the round starts, you'll be done in a minute. However, if a round just ended it takes up to 1 hour (or until 100 participants registered) until the coinjoin is being done.
1494  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Running personal server for Electrum on: June 27, 2020, 08:22:23 PM
I'm glad you got it sorted out.

It was unable to figure out that the password will be used as extended seed.

Yes, electrum could have been a bit more precise.
It is more of a password protection than an additional seed word.

Without a password, an empty string ("") is being used.
1495  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer/Impersonator hip3r/bizoxi/elmanchez/DireWolfM14 on: June 27, 2020, 07:09:22 PM
He gets entangled in an extraordinary number of shady deals though. That's either very bad luck or perhaps some actual correlation.

This thread, together with the other thread is more than just suspicious.

Regarding the linked thread.. i mean come on.. Who receives a message saying "please send a message containing address X to account Y" and does exactly that.
This is either some kind of extremely stupid behavior or some kind of a reinsurance if you get called out (i.e. "i received the message and blindly did what the person i don't know requested").

I mean, alright. Benefit of the doubt.
But together with this here, i tend to believe it indeed was just a reinsurance for himself instead of just stupid behavior.
1496  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Running personal server for Electrum on: June 27, 2020, 06:59:13 PM
By the way, if the tx is unconfirmed then is there a possibility not to show in a restored wallet? The tx is unconfirmed.

This is very well imaginable and the only thing i can think of why it is not being shown yet.
I just tested it myself (on the same machine, but removing all wallet files temporarily) and it worked fine (transaction was confirmed already).

Edit: Is there anyway, to restore this wallet using Electrum? Using the passphrase and the password. Will it be the same wallet? I doubt.

Wasabi is following BIP39, so yes you can restore it in electrum (or any other wallet supporting BIP39):
  • Choose "Standard wallet" and "I already have a Seed"
  • Click on "Options" and tick the "BIP 39 Seed" and "Extend with custom words" box
  • Enter your password in the seed extension window
  • In the next window, choose "native segwit (p2wpkh)"
1497  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Running personal server for Electrum on: June 27, 2020, 06:30:48 PM
Now in my other computer I installed Wasabi again and then wanted to recover the wallet. I only need the seed and the password but when I recovered the wallet I see no balance in it. In the first computer it shows the balance but in the 2nd computer it shows no balance.

What am I missing?

Edit: In the wallet info section I see both has same private key and other information.

One of the most common mistakes probably would be entering the words of the mnemonic code in the wrong order.
They are not labeled like this:

010203
040506
070809
101112

but:

010509
020610
030711
040812

But since you were able to recreate your wallet using the mnemonic code and the passphrase, this seems quite odd to me.
If it shows the same xpub/zpub, it actually is the same wallet.

Did you already generate a receiving address in your 2nd wallet?
1498  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Captcha bypass v2 on: June 27, 2020, 05:41:14 PM
You already can bypass the captcha for free.
After logging in, you can visit https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php.

You will get a custom URL which lets you log in into your account without solving a captcha.

Edit:
After reading your Post a second time, i might have misunderstood you.
Are you proposing that one should be able to pay a small fee (before registering) to be able to completely circumvent solving a captcha (i.e. not needed for registration and login) ?
1499  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer/Impersonator hip3r/bizoxi/elmanchez/DireWolfM14 on: June 27, 2020, 04:38:37 PM
@elmanchez

If you met him on another forum and he indeed is honest, why don't you then just finish the trade (assuming OP still wants to do that of course)?
Just use an reputable escrow (doesn't have to be DireWolfM14, if OP doesn't want to).

If OP is still willing to do it, you could easily show your good will and clear up all misunderstandings.

Shouldn't all parties be happy with that?
1500  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer/Impersonator hip3r/bizoxi/elmanchez/DireWolfM14 on: June 27, 2020, 03:50:00 PM
Yes, accpeting that, i'm doing business with @hip3r last week, he is buying Neteller/Skrill and selll USDT,QIWI,WMZ,Payooner, everything is clear.
His bitcointalk name is @hip3r

This seems a bit weird to me.
How were you able to do business with hip3r (bitcointalk account) with the telegramid @hip3r last week when he just registered less than 3 days ago ?

I think there's some confusion here.  I believe that elmanchez is saying he's traded with @hip3r, not the OP.

No confusion here. That's exactly what i wanted to be sure of because the story seems fishy.

So it is confirmed that @hookgo is your telegram username elmanchez ?

He just confirmed it:

@elmanchez, did you contact the OP on Telegram, and are you Telegram user @hookgo?
Right!
