321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coinbase instead of visa/mastercard for your business. on: September 27, 2014, 03:56:10 PM
Wouldn't be smart to only accept bitcoin as not everyone has adapted to bitcoin...yet.

Yep I've had a bitcoin sign for months, have not made any sales. I'm at an outside flea market, any time someone walking by notices it and knows about it, they just say scam to their friends and keep walking. One day... We will make a sale from the sign.
322  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Coinbase "Cost Basis for Taxes" usage on: September 24, 2014, 05:17:59 PM
The IRS cares that you give them money. The don't care where it came from. Taxes should not be stressful as people make it seem.

FIFO just follow the method, the IRS doesn't need to know your balance, if you bought 10 sold 9 made $200 in profit, just tell them that. You're not going to get an audit unless you make $25,000 a year and somehow bought a new house, new boat, and new car with cash, unless you pay the taxes on that income and send in your FIFO information with bitcoin.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: PAYPAL PARTNERS WITH BITPAY ET AL on: September 24, 2014, 05:07:43 PM
In future news: Bitpay buys PayPal.
Before 2025. Honestly though, I've seen a lot of Bitcoin companies come and go. I doubt BitPay will even be around in 11 years. But I don't doubt another bitcoin related company will buy out Paypal before 2025.

If Paypal adopts BTC and become a payment processor, it will become a much bigger company. It might buy Bitpay, instead of other way around.
If Bitpay gets sold to Paypal we will be nearing the end of Bitcoin days.

What makes you think Gallippi would sell to Paypal?  They just entered into an agreement recently, and he's been instrumental in the growth of Bitcoin.  I don't think his soul could be sold that quick, considering all that he's put into it.

Is this a joke? Microsoft just bought Minecraft for 2.5 billion dollars. Tech companies are buying up everything that will turn a profit.

If you're offered $2.5 billion for bitpay you would be foolish to not sell. Granted its possible bitpay will produce more in the long run, but there isn't a guarantee that bitcoin will be around in the long run. And you could just dump $1.5 billion into bitcoin, and in the long run still make more than owning bitpay.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: PAYPAL PARTNERS WITH BITPAY ET AL on: September 23, 2014, 07:17:22 PM
won't be able to break $460.  Time for another dump.

yup already dropping. The news is good, but its not altering and wont bring much attention to bitcoin.
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: PAYPAL PARTNERS WITH BITPAY ET AL on: September 23, 2014, 07:04:11 PM
Already up over 10%

328  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Electronic Cigarettes on: September 12, 2014, 09:59:47 PM
Well theres a thing called flavors but it doesnt taste great.

There are actually a few thousand different flavors. You have to find the one you like. It's like Gatorade.

Are these e-cig cleared by the Department of National Health?

These are refillable ecigs. They have not been certified, though you can get your juice anywhere. I'm not sure of any juice that's cleared by them.

330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would you start to accept bitcoin payments as a business owner? on: September 09, 2014, 12:35:48 PM
Imagine you are the boss of some kind of business that deals with physical objects everyday and why would you start to accept bitcoin payments?

What are you going to do with all that bitcoins that you've earned? Hold it? seriously?

Everyone is missing the most important thing about business.

PROFIT.

As a business owner, why would you NOT accept bitcoin? If its all someone has, or they will spend it because you accept it.

Though I've been accepting bitcoin for 2 years, and have a sign, I've never done a bitcoin transaction face to face because of it. I did however meet someone from the forums however.
331  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Changing the colour on biaddress.org / dogeaddress.com on: September 08, 2014, 08:24:11 PM
For everyones information "biaddress" is for those in the LGBT community who want to make paper wallets.

-B-

Uh.. What? No one cares about this information.. As long as the service is good who cares who its for. And LGBT don't need their own service to make wallets. I'm not sure any service cares about your sexuality.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An obvious problem with Bitcoin? on: September 08, 2014, 08:15:46 PM
I don't think Bitcoin will ever be allowed in its current state by any first-world government to get very big. The reason being is that all transactions are anonymous. Governments need to know the amount of money going into their country and the amount of money leaving their country. My proposal for this is to have an option (default value: true) on each transaction to get the geolocation of each IP (Country only) and put that in the txn hash.

you would be allowed to disable this option but the majority of users would be too lazy to change it and a slightly accurate amount is generated per country.

Does this make sense?

So what you mean is people will be able to avoid taxes? Isn't there a few trillion USD being hidden right now? I see no difference, the poor can do it also.
333  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Electronic Cigarettes on: September 08, 2014, 06:42:54 PM
I'm setting up my new site, its not finished so I have the prices set basically wholesale. Everything is 1/4 of what stores sell for.

www.eniecig.com

Anyone who makes a bitcoin purchase, as long as its profitable, will keep these low rates.

I used e-cig before and I got a bad cough because of it.

Some people cant use PG in their ejuice. Try with just VG.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin about to rise dramatically due to the JLI (Jennifer Lawrence Indicator) on: September 05, 2014, 12:59:08 PM
If jlaw is basically going to be the reason why bitcoin will make another bull-run, then my mind will be fucking blown and nothing in this world will make sense to me anymore.

It doesn't make sense to you that a few hundred million people are hearing about bitcoin again? Many for the first time can raise the price? lol
335  Economy / Goods / Re: Cohiba Robusto box of 25 Original Cuban Cigars Hand Made $700 on: August 31, 2014, 09:43:53 PM
You are right there are too many scammers around and I won't send this box without payment, I have lost money working this way and when the customer gets the boxers they automagically forget to pay.

If you want contact me deabraha@hotmail.com I will send you the list of items I have and you can try with something cheap to test the service, if you don't like it you will notify others.

Here we are playing a trust to each other and the risk runs in both ends.

Haha... Yeah no one gives a shit about anything but escrow, and bitcoin around these parts. How about you use bitcoin, like these forums are designed for?

338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please tell me this isn't how transactions always work.... on: August 28, 2014, 06:35:02 PM
Can someone please explain to me what is happening here? He had $60, sent $22, why could he not send the $6?
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Amazon buy Blockchain.info till 2016? on: August 26, 2014, 08:22:22 PM
Blockchain.info is a free wallet service, and doesn't make Mich profit, there is no reason why Amazon should buy it. I think blockchain.info is open-source, Amazon could use the code and start there own service if they wanted to.

It's a brand, and who says they don't make money? As soon as you login to your wallet there are 5 partners that blockchain gets a payment for referrals.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people price things in fiat but want BTC - choose one or the other on: August 26, 2014, 06:47:37 PM
It is a familiar denomination. Changing the way we think about something takes time. Many of us all ready take losses when we transact business because we pay exchange fees to top off our stash when we spend bit coin.

Why do people always say this? How much are most bank accounts? $8-$15 monthly? Are you spending that on fees.. Technically you're saving.
