801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] GCoin release on: May 04, 2013, 09:51:06 PM
so is there some blockchain magic happening, or why won't somebody simply hack the software at some point to allow scanner-less transactions?

It will be open source, anyone can change the code, but we all have to be using the same source.

We have a system built in to call your cell phone, every time you send coin, but this is a subscription based service, $2 for the first 200 phone calls, (automated) and $5 for 1000 total. This is of course optional, we make no profits off this, and we will show the logs to prove it, that's just what we pay in fees.

We also have a feature set up to designate the origin country upon download, so if you're in the United States, and someone manages to bypass the securities, the cyber department of say Russia will automatically be notified if the coin were sent to a Russian wallet.

Everything will still be anonymous though.

You know, this would actually be kind of cool if maybe you used a fingerprint scanner (which I suspect is a hell of a lot cheaper than this vaporware retina scanner).

...

P.S Can I buy the retina scanner with Junkcoin? I'll give you 0.000001.

Yeah but we figured the retina scanner would be safer in the long run, who knows someone might have a high def camera an a hacker can pull the finger prints off the video, so there is no way possible for this near impossible, but still possible scenario to ever happen.
803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin snack machine (fast transaction problem) on: May 04, 2013, 12:03:48 PM
Vending machines get robbed all the time, I don't think that the 4 people in the world who know how double spending is done properly will hurt the owners of the machine.

P.S. I know more than 4 people was being sarcastic.
P.S.S its no different than when you watch a video on youtube that shows a button combination that spits out money, and free drinks.

Donations for what? Should not be begging in your title for donations.

We wont be taking any orders until we launch, butterfly labs doesn't want more pre-orders. Sorry!
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] GCoin release on: May 03, 2013, 11:02:31 PM
A $5000 retina scanner to use the coin?
Is this a joke or is it meant to be taken seriously?
I'm honestly asking, not being sarcastic.

Actually our supplier just told us its going to cost more, its going to be around $8500 now.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] GCoin release on: May 03, 2013, 10:04:45 PM
50+ days to mine?

No its more like 48 hours now.
809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] GCoin release on: May 03, 2013, 07:58:16 PM
Same shit, different day. Let me make an educated guess:

"No premining" = 'OP has 10 friends that have GPU mining pools of 100s MH/s that they will turn on the first SECOND of release. This will make it impossible for anyone else to mine, since only stale blocks will go to anyone sitting on a 'normal' (0.3-2 mh/sek) mining computer. First 10.000 blocks goes to the 'friends of op' in a few hours, then they stop mining and sell the new 'feathercrap 2.0' on BTC-E (since they will list it after 2 days cause they are whores and would list invisible goat semen if it made them a few bucks)'.

There, now we all know the rules and can play by them.

Actually the source code will be released early, but the source code has a time lock, you cant start mining til release. Everyone has the same source... so everyone can mine at the same time.

Linked to the Atomic clock of course...  No changing your bios date/time ahead you scammers!

It's linked to the google clock.

815  Economy / Speculation / Re: the real reason btc is dropping on: May 03, 2013, 06:34:56 PM

They're only making $250k a day profit..
816  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: use of bitcoin trademark? on: May 03, 2013, 06:26:51 AM
I read something here in the United States, the public cant know before its registered or something. BTC was widely used, and adpoted. I don't see a US court agreeing to give any funds to anyone, especially to an outside company.
817  Economy / Marketplace / Re: $1,000 bounty for Blockchain.COM (not .info) (Updated to $1,500) on: May 03, 2013, 06:12:52 AM
$1000? For real? Cheesy $1000 is low price even for pointless random domains. This one is worth much, much, MUCH more.

http://www.namecheap.com/

$4 to register a domain, I would say $1000 is a very fair price

Some domain names sell for 500k+ one that I was looking to bid on in auction went to 850k...

819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your views on pre-mining? on: May 03, 2013, 05:07:02 AM
lets say that a new coin being developed needs money to be raised to pay for developers and one suggestion was to have an ipo where the public will pay x amount for a number of coins pre release. and this is limited to like 100 ppl. how do u feel about that
all of these alts are the bitcoin platform changed around a little.
820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your views on pre-mining? on: May 03, 2013, 04:50:37 AM
People hate premine because of the fact its ripping people off.

By the time you let others join in, you mined 1,000,000 coins? Now its harder to get coins for everyone else that jumps on board. The way coins are starting these days 1M coins is worth 100k, why is it fair you make 100k and all you do is remove 3 letters out of the word bitcoin?
