So if the coins are in my wallet, they're okay? Or can they disappear?
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Sending fake coins? on: December 09, 2012, 04:11:56 AM
I read everywhere when receiving coins, wait for at least 6 blocks, whats this about? Is it possible to send fake coins, have them show up in my wallet, and go away later?

Normally I get the coins within 60 seconds, can they be reversed?

The other thing that worries me too is that if people of her age no disrespect to her or anyone of that age but mistakes can be made and would they really be up to the mining challenge..

I run a 14 staff / 4 shop series of bottleshops (Alcohol only retail store in Australia)

I've got a lady about her age (60ish) who is about 5" 6' and wouldn't weigh anymore than most women her age.
But I would trust her to.

-Put away several tonnes of alcohol a day
-work 12 hours straight no problem
-doesn't conflict with other staff
-do accurate till and stock work

I'd trust her to do more work and of better quality than ALL of my staff under the age of 30.

My point?

Don't dismiss somebody because of their age, it makes you look like a retard.

o.0

Now if your staff member made a scratch on a bottle, would you still sell it?
I don't think they were judging on their age, over the fact that shakey hands might make that solder hit a wrong area, but still be placed off as 'cant hurt nutin'.

If there Hired then they must be able or capable of doing the work don't you think?

I'm sure of it. it seems to me your a sore buyer that just wants his ASIC asap.

NOT A BFL STAFF

Didn't buy an ASIC, Id rather waste my money elsewhere. Besides, they said they can pump what was it 900 of them out a day? I think I can wait 3 days after launch to order mine. I was just clearing something up.
Anyone is capable of putting a chip on, doesn't mean they have steady hands. I wasn't judging anyone, he was comparing someone stocking a shelf, to soldering equipment that some people paid $30,000 to buy.

" doesn't mean they have steady hands"......."I wasn't judging anyone"

Seems like a Form of Judging to me. just drop this, your point have nothing substantial in your argument.

NOT A BFL STAFF

Right, I never said she was not fit for work, I only illiterated what one of his worries could possibly have been. Hense the "I don't think they were judging on their age", I never said anything about me.

I believe if you have a certain amount of funds transferred via Dwolla, that will be reported to the IRS (As Paypal transactions over a certain $ or qty are).

Nice thing is my accountant handles it.

But that's only on coins sold for US currency.

I believe anything over $1000 in one shot is, that's what I'm told. And when you sell over 200 items, and $20,000 worth its also reported.

1128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: national minimum wage LAWS. good or bad? on: December 07, 2012, 10:20:58 AM
Is this thread even about minimum wage anymore?
My input if so is minimum wage has to be there.

Take walmart for example if they paid all their employees $80 more each week, it would cost them an extra 8,736,000,000 granted they made 15 billion last year, but that's more than half of profits. Would hurt the economy more I think.

I know some people want to save money  Grin

I do.  Smiley

I've been wanting to try out e-cigs for a while, I just didn't want to spend the money.  Half off is too good to pass up, though.  Smiley

So, as someone that doesn't really understand what I'm looking at, I need a starter kit and some E-liquid?  What else?  Needle bottle?

I'm a babe in the woods.  Tell me what I should buy from you.  Smiley

A starter kit, and some liquid. You technically don't need the needle bottle for the clearomizers for the EGO-T, but its easier to fill the clearomizer, its a convenience thing only, will make filling it take 2 seconds, vs 15. The EGO-W comes with a needle bottle, its required to fill the automizer.

I am interested too, what would be a package that you could sell that would let me know if I like the taste?  I love the idea, but it has to taste as good as my drum.

I'm not sure if it would be a good thing, its not really something just to try and not like it if you only want a specific taste and wont budge, unless you have spare cash. I can tell you that if you're looking for something that will have a great hit to the throat, Marlboro high is what you want.

1133  Economy / Services / Re: I'll Pay 5 BTC to Anyone that can build the following. on: December 05, 2012, 10:00:01 PM
Is this taking into count that a thing like this would potentially be a few hundred pounds of rubber balls on the outside pulling down, as the balls in the water is lifting up?
It makes no difference what else is going on. All that matters is that the energy that comes out is from the water pushing up on the air and the energy that needs to go in is an amount sufficient to raise any equal volume of water an equal distance. Since water is much denser than air, the energy that comes out of the machine must always be much less than the energy that goes into it unless the machine is slowing down, in which case it will soon stop.

Yeah, the picture was rather irrelevant. Sorry for the confusion.
Don't sell yourself short, I thought it was a brilliant retort. Wink

Cool, thanks for crushing my dreams, and saving me tons of money, to produce this, because I was actually going to try.
1134  Economy / Services / Re: I'll Pay 5 BTC to Anyone that can build the following. on: December 05, 2012, 09:54:29 PM
Wasn't being sarcastic, displace what water? The water is already displaced, the balls would all be of equal size, and the same mass would be in the water at any given time. As half of 1 ball leaves the water, half of 1 is already entering.
Since one ball is leaving at the top and one ball is entering at the bottom, you need to convert a space at the top of the water (left by the leaving ball) to a space at the bottom of the water (needed by the entering ball). How can you do that without lifting the water up?

The energy you get from the air rising comes from the water lowering as the air rises. Since water is denser than water, it takes more energy to lift the water up to make space for the entering ball than you get from the rising of that ball.

Imagine a tube with a fixed amount of water in it. Now imagine that same tube with the same amount of water but an air bubble in the bottom. The water level must be higher in the second tube. Thus it takes energy to place an air bubble in the bottom of a tube of water without removing water from it, since the existing water must be raised. This applies regardless of what's going on at the top of the tube.

Is this taking into count that a thing like this would potentially be a few hundred pounds of rubber balls on the outside pulling down, as the balls in the water is lifting up?

It can't work because of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservation_of_energy. Generating energie out of nowhere is impossible. It (hypothetically)  might be possible to create something thats keeps spinning at a constant speed, in a vacuum and with no friction.

That's it period.

Fake.

Really?
Excuse my bad paint skills.
Picture (see above)

Why do people always assume that things are impossible? Nothing is.

Ok, if you just being sarcastic, sorry for not understanding.

Do I really have to explain why this wouldn't work?

Simple: In order to enter the Water tank, you balloons would have to displace the water at first, thereby raising the Waterlevel. This would require the same energy the water uses later to displace the balloon upward.

At next a drawing where you lift yourself up by pulling on your legs please.

Wasn't being sarcastic, displace what water? The water is already displaced, the balls would all be of equal size, and the same mass would be in the water at any given time. As half of 1 ball leaves the water, half of 1 is already entering.

Please explain how it would be affected, I'm willing to learn (And that's not sarcastic I'm really willing to learn.)

The worlds best could not do it I'm sure they went over all these theories. Not sure you guys are understanding the one time thing.

A coded book, with the answers to the coded message. Used 1 time, then destroyed.

Unless you have one of those 2 books, you're not going anywhere.

ASDW#$FGDXCV in the coded book can mean, Allied victory at this place, soviet retreat here.

You'll never crack that.

How do we know for certain a OTP was used? If I read correctly, there were millions of messages sent via pigeons during WWII. To use a OTP, don't you have to sent a pigeon first with the key prior to sending the crypto message? If that's the case, then what happens if the other end doesn't get the key but only the message?

FYI: Did you know that some prisoners are using pigeons to get drugs onto the grounds? Who here is working on Silk Air?

Possibly, but the numbers 1525/6 could have something to do with it? Like multiply 1525*6 1525+6 1525/6 etc  then change the text around depending on the results.

But I would have to assume that its more like 1525/6 is a section in a decoder book, that one person has, and once the letter is received, they destroy both. I wouldn't know I only learned about one time pads when I read the news article when it came out a few weeks ago hah..
Apparently these notes, and books, are highly flammable so if they were over-run, just give it some heat and its up in flames.

Lucky for me this isn't your property or I would be banned. Starting to understand how that whole property right's concept works now?  In this case your definition of trolling is irrelevant.

Right, seems someones epeen is to big, just because you have a higher post count, doesn't mean everyone elses 'opinion' is irrelevant. All I stated was I don't feel trolling should be bannable.

This website and its domain is the United States government property, if you don't think they can, and will seize this website at will, you're mistaken. Hows that whole property right's concept work for you? Bitcoin.org is registered with the ICANN, which is government property, which also owns everything on American soil.

Half the things you see here is about sticking it to the government, we have a better currency, hushing users up is against everything we're here for.

(And yeah, I realize the domain is registered in Canada, and probably hosting too, but SMF forums are in Nevada, in American government territory)

Don't bother replying here, I wont be back on this thread. I stated my 'opinion' and you trolled me about it, good job.
