5201  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Core or Classic? on: March 23, 2016, 12:06:12 PM
To me is not the question of 'OR' :

If core just move a small bit / reschedule slightly  & classic forks into than we might have a nice compromis and all are back & unifyied in freedom.

All politics here is just getting people out of BTC  = anti marketing!

5202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the anti-blockstream sentiment? on: March 23, 2016, 10:57:35 AM
Think of security issues.

If the side chain is not equal secure than the main chain but lower, you not really want that, since than your BTC can be stolen from a side chain attak.
5203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: March 21, 2016, 11:28:56 AM
I ETH going up again or is it dying?

Both might happen - just matter of time...  Grin

Edit: I just saw: Issues are going up ..

5204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: March 21, 2016, 08:27:55 AM
I general adding features is always good - if there is value. Right now, it might be the only chance for Classic  to get along with some more as just the 2mb.

Or - that's what I  prefer - it might finally lead to a code-compromise when the good features would come together (in core) and we can all sit back & calm down...
The problem isn't features, it is manipulation. Even if we disregard whether the added features are good or not, you have to remember that they sold the story of "just Core with a 2 MB block size limit". Now they have moved away from it and started adding un-reviewed features (unless you could reviews by Toomin Cheesy). At least in the time of XT they weren't trying to sell you such a story.

Yep - that's the sad thing and might be a result of resources, that we all want to be better concentrated.

Having ideas (and also weired ones - here I'm expert ) is always good - but without the resources to analyze & settle them - they might got lost.

5205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ToominCoin aka "Bitcoin_Classic" #R3KT on: March 21, 2016, 08:14:26 AM
So Classic is just 2MB to start, then some other shit? Well that was more than a bit deceiving. Huh
That's usually how it goes. They tell you "it's just Core with a 2 MB block size limit" to pull you towards them and then they start adding random "features".

5206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is a billion dollar bubble on: March 20, 2016, 10:17:18 PM
This flawed garbage is deflating just like every monthly new paradigm. It's tiring.

Bitcoin is compared to the gold of the internet and has already higher volatility than any physical commodity ( actual oil). So think of ETH wants to be the gas of internet, that vola must be factors higher... And looks like it is.
5207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is better than.... on: March 20, 2016, 10:12:30 PM

Microsoft is running everything, they think to have a chance for being interesting in the future. Similar approach as Google running a host of "experimental" services and letting the less popular services to die. So the MS running something is a nice to have thing but not really important.

Haha, yes one should start a topic like 'Google is accepting Bitcoin' and that is correct since any search for  'Bitcoin' is accepted and delivers lots of hits.. Grin
5208  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The timely confirmation incentive in a system with no mining rewards on: March 20, 2016, 08:39:53 PM
The confirmation times are sped up by the fact that most blocks only require low POW (and the minters can be preparing their difficult POW between the block where the information is sourced from and the block their POW tx needs to appear by).

Understood. Presumably you're compensating the miners for their difficulty PoW, though?

That is what I haven't decided upon yet (but in reality it is likely to be necessary to at least have some reward).

I like the idea of splitting up the POW as you suggest into a low and heavy one.
Would that mean that in general the wallets do the low one, but at very high speed by only collecting txs in some local range and form preBlocks. Than the havey ones Asic likes come in and collects + verifys the preBlocks into some final blocks, and all together low and heavy share some reward if all is done correct?
5209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if classic coup is just a large-scale manipulation by altcoin pumper gang? on: March 20, 2016, 06:45:40 PM
i don't think that altcoin pumpers has anything to do with all the classic drama going around specially starting it.

This. The blocksize drama actually started over a year ago and should have been resolved by now.

All that is happening is that people are taking advantage of the fact that it's not resolved. You see this in business all the time. A company drops the ball and a competitor aggressively moves into the space. Expecting competitors to hold fire while this drags on and on and on is naive. Of course they're going to use the vacuum to promote their alts

But I really wonder how the big Mio investment is paying off? Can only be by getting BTC cheap now and later get a big news like 'Scaling Solved!'....
5210  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-18] Bitcoin finds room in small funds; large institutions on sidelines on: March 19, 2016, 08:05:58 PM
The article mentions that an estimated 50-90% of bitcoin's current market cap is held by near-institutional money. That is indeed significant. If more institutional money flows in, the market cap would dramatically improve.

Sure, but it works both ways, if 'institutional investors' lose interest in Bitcoin, market cap would dramatically fall.

Yes and it would be better to see less 'institutional investors' and more individuals and have the same price as today. I feel that individual investors is what will propel this coin.

Yes and no. I d like to see lots of instis coming in AND running miners as well, they really can afford this and will ensure better mining decentralization what is crucial i.o. to ensure proper trust.
5211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2MB Pros and Cons on: March 19, 2016, 03:35:43 PM
I was just wondering why this thread here is now sw else. Feels like some bad politics happened and moved things into some 'illegal' underground and failed to better discussed it on facts... Huh
OP was banned due to repeatedly breaking the rules (in addition to being in a signature campaign). He must have re-created his thread on that forum. Additionally, they apparently blame theymos for this ban. He had nothing to do with it.

Hope that very soon some real intelligent species here or there will realize that all that poor fighting leads only to lose base and only makes strong some alts... Signs for that just cannot be hidden away.
Not if one is being paid to do so. All would be fine if people agreed with Segwit now and some increase via a HF later (2017 maybe?). A 2MB block size proposal has no benefits aside from increased TPS.

IMO all will agree to this IF

1. It is the ONLY quick straight fwd solution
2. there is enough proof due to testing incl all preripheric appl
3. nobody is left out / no ugly side affects come up with

5215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth pump is just part of the ongoing coordinated attack on bitcoin.... on: March 18, 2016, 08:42:13 AM
Eth looks very flawed, i just downloaded the wallet, and it looks very dissapointing.

I cant even use the wallet its so badly designed. I dont even know where the wallet file is located.

It's a real mess.

Yes- it's time to deliver now and revalue on hard facts ...

ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!!

Duh. Every pump has its dump be it eth, btc, or whatever.

Feel sorry for those who got sucked in by "eth will be $50 in a month" and other such rubbish. The pump went a lot longer than I thought it would for a much higher price. Its been a ticking time bomb for weeks.

The pumperdumpers/insiders got rich and their suckers now belong to the fraternity of bagholders.

Sell for a loss now or wait on the hope of another round of pumping. Sometimes they never go back up to former glory.

Waiting and hoping is historically the worst decision.

Has bitcoin returned to $1000. No.
Has litecoin returned to $48. No.

I've tried to appeal to their intelligence with reasoning too and they just don't want to hear it.
I guess you just can't cure stupid.. got to let them be.
Let them cry FUD now then go quiet and skulk off with their tail between their legs later.
Notice how when the price is rising we have 20 new topics a day on page 1 ?
But when it gets dumped on they all go quiet and start talking about other coins ? ROFL
Sounds like you've git a faulty logic board because it's actually:

ETH in news = ETH price rise = ETH topics to post and discuss.
ETH not in news = ETH price falls = less ETH topics to post and discuss.

Let see where we are news-wise after next weeks R3CEV funded Ethereum Socratis Meeting in NYC.

No it was rather   ETH price rise  -> ETH in news , so quite easy to see manipulation here.

And forget about R3 - they play with a private ETH chain and with IBM Hyperledger and Eris Ind so just a news hype as well.

5219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex DDOS attack on: March 17, 2016, 07:43:15 AM
Question, is Poloniex better than C-Cex? I am new in trading altcoins, what is the best altcoin trading platform? Thanks!

I have account on both sites Poloniex and c-cex and so far they earned my trust. I cant recommend a best trading platform but check on the volume of altcoins being traded in each site. The bigger the volume involved, with more traders doing trades, the better the market movement.

.. and the bigger the risk to get attacked ...
