221  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: illegal and humiliating video verification in Rollbit.com on: November 09, 2023, 05:09:18 PM
Rollbit must be really scared of people that's out there trying to steal from them or even exploit their system and I can get that but what OP has done for them is just a step too far for Rollbit, are they that scared of receiving complaints that they resort to this kind of bullshit? It's actually weird that they even want you to do those stuff when these kind of thing could be prevented if they just hire more developers that are interested in fixing their website security but no, it seems that Rollbit wants you to do those unnecessary and paranoid stuff for confirmation, does Rollbit need that much information to be secured? Are they guarding the garden of souls that you've got to be a human because God forbid it won't work when it's a different being?
222  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The mom of my friend got scammed 7.3k$ from coinbase usin an app like teamviewer on: November 09, 2023, 04:20:03 PM
Did this woman trust an unknown person on the Internet to share personal data with him without knowing more information about him? I mean, identifying the man using the available data is easier than tracking Bitcoin addresses, which may require court papers to recover your money.
Regarding Bitcoin addresses, they will most likely end up in a central wallet, but without starting legal investigations, you cannot ask these services to recover her money.
That's probably what's happened, scammers are good at social engineering so I don't think that they had a hard time having to convince her to do this kind of thing. Also, isn't TeamViewer works like a remote access tool right? I think that's how they've got that person and has stolen her funds. Regards to the possibility of investigation, I don't think that even if there's one, it's unlikely that they're going to ever recover the money stolen, this is a syndicate in my opinion so you'll have a hard time finding the group or even arresting any of them since this happened online.
223  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips to Follow traders/scalpers (who use Stop Loss) on: November 09, 2023, 03:37:47 PM
Avoid signal providers. I do not know of copy trading, but it is better as you follow the trades of people, unlike signal providers that you will follow nothing than the providers to find ways to earn money from you without them thinking of you winning or losing.

As for copy traders, I do not know much about it, but there is nothing that is better than learning trading yourself and use the amount of money that you can afford to lose to trade.
I can second that 1st advice, signal providers often only benefits those at the higher level of pecking order in that signal group so better off not be the reason that they're going to make more money, especially those that ask you to pay for their signals, heinous thing to do for them. Copy traders are a pretty good way that you can make money without the worry that you have to think too much about how you will trade because you're hitching on the success of the trader that you're copying and most copytrading features help you identify the best traders to copy so you needn't worry too much which one you should copy trade.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whatever happens, hold on to your Bitcoin. on: November 09, 2023, 02:55:56 PM
Bro, I'm sure that you're not going to see any sane person selling all of their bitcoins right now so your advice on the title is moot, a lot has seen bitcoin go from 69k USD already and there's more that's expecting bitcoin to go much higher after halving or in halving so you don't need to worry about people being unstable with what price they're planning to sell their bitcoins.
Yup, anyone thinking of selling now and taking out 2x of profit (if they were lucky enough to buy at $18k) is a fool and will be missing a major/big profit which we all will see happening in 2025.
I make sure to keep everyone in touch with my goal or target of Bitcoin i.e. $178k for November 2025. I am definitely sure Bitcoin will be able to achieve this target.

So, hold on to your Bitcoin as the OP said.
They can probably get away with not selling all of their bitcoins and then getting some profit out of their initial purchase and then hope to get in bitcoin again by buying back in case the price of bitcoin goes down again so those people selling at the current highest price have a little window to get in again. As with what OP said, anyone would probably also have to consider not doing anything stupid like selling everything.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 09, 2023, 02:04:08 PM
But those that do not make any of such research in the past will not still regret if they are able to hold their coins and not sell.
That's not something I will not dispute and never have I agreed on something this much because of how correct it is and it's simplifying the explanation as to why bitcoin's the best investment. I would probably be using these phrase or the idea of it to explain why bitcoin is a good investment to be had.
I've been there, albeit in alts, had it been btc I wouldn't regret it as much. In previous bull markets I held alts for too long that either they went dead or significantly down to never recover again to their previous heights.

What I said happens with alts and not with BTC that's good thing about it.
The problem with altcoins is the fact that most of them are mostly riding on the hype that bitcoin generates so when bitcoin starts to ease out of it's bullrun, most altcoins go down with it at a much worse kind since they've got more people invested in it hoping that the price would continue to go up.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and it's 4 Year-Cycle on: November 08, 2023, 08:48:29 AM
The 4 year cycle isn't exact though be last halving cycle, we have waited for about a year to see the price from skyrocketing and during the halving there wasn't a lot of movement in the market. It was during Tesla's bitcoin purchase and their acceptance of bitcoin as a payment for their cars that affected the prices.

I just want to know if you're a god or a ghost.

If You're God, I'd buy a lot of bitcoins right now and wait for money to fall from the sky.
If you're a ghost, I'll sell bitcoins now and wait for a cheap bitcoin (say, $2,000) to buy.

But who can tell me, are you God or ghost.
What are you smoking bro? Can you give me some?
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What conditions might cause you to stop gambling? on: November 08, 2023, 07:02:32 AM
It's easy, if I have a family and a kid to raise and fund his/her education and I am not making a lot of money when that time comes then I would definitely stop gambling altogether, helps with the household finances and many other things could've been used for that money anyways. Another condition I can think of is when I have contracted a disease that will require me to have a medical maintenance to check on the symptoms or slowly treat the said disease, like heart disease or kidney disease, this diseases that I've mentioned are definitely going to make anyone stop gambling. There's probably other conditions out there but these two are the conditions that would definitely make me stop gambling.
228  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guide for newcomers Start a fun and profitable gambling entertainment journey o on: November 08, 2023, 06:06:56 AM
Checking his Post History all of the 21 posts he had are newly created thread just to advertise this site https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=3576527;sa=showPosts;start=20  so i agree with you that he must learn about the rules .
and also what he is doing is creating thread and will not come back or engage in that said thread and look 3 days after this thread created he never back online , wondering that His next online is when there is a new thread to promote this Site of His.I think there is something that players must consider before even depositing here.
There's definitely something wrong with that, advertising wrongfully and not engaging the right way with the people that's replying on the thread is definitely something that anyone should. Definitely agree that a consideration should be taken by players with this gambling site, if there's no interaction then there's definitely something fishy and you can't really argue that he's a newbie, there's some semblance of decency in the posts so I am sure that OP knows the he/she can reply to the threads but chose to create another.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: November 08, 2023, 05:28:15 AM
Yeah, I think the last thing I've read about it was giving Trump a massive win against Biden in many contested states, something like 5 out of 6 or something like that.

But at the same time it's good to remember that most media is just a propaganda machine, and they might just massage the numbers to show you what they want you to believe.

As in, some people will vote for whoever is winning at the polls at the moment, and they might want to get those votes for example.
I don't know but a lot of people aren't happy with the Biden's administration and it seems that it's going to be Trump again, I aam 60% sure he's going to get the presidency again. I feel kind of bad that a lot of people even outside the US are still basing their votes on popularity instead of what these candidates can do for them, not to sound too political but damn we need to change something about that mindset.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: November 08, 2023, 04:26:38 AM
~
If they're playing with friends, it's best to maintain boundaries so they know when to stop. They also can't compare the capital they have with their friends' capital, especially since friends bring a lot of money to gamble while we only bring a little money. We have to control ourselves while gambling so that we don't gamble excessively and the important thing is that we know when to stop gambling. Maybe we will stop earlier than our friends and that's okay because we just want always to limit our gambling and still have money to gamble another day. We also can't spend all the money at once because we must maintain the allocation of money we use for gambling to have enough money to gamble another day. And we also have to control ourselves when we have won and stop immediately because that is enough for us. And if our friends ask us to gamble again, we can say that we've had enough gambling and need a break.
You're not getting it, the theory is that this is what's happening but it's not unless you've experienced it yourself because if you've experienced winning big then you know that the high of being a winner is going to cloud your judgment combine that with peer pressure and the fallacious mindset that your first win might not just be your only win for that day and first thing you know, you're just putting back the money that you've won back into gambling hoping to get another win.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 08, 2023, 03:21:29 AM
You're right, it's capital intensive to start a casino business, you also have to be experienced in gambling sector because you will need to employ alot of developers and other clients to work under you, there's a need to also unde how to make a business management within a professional standard, but we can also do the best to achieve every desired means for best results, though it has its own risk as well.
If you have the money to do it, you can just hire all of those people that you've just mentioned so it's no big deal that you have to worry about those stuff if you have the money, maybe having an intimate knowledge on the business can help you a lot. Risk will always be there so it's nothing to be worried about because when you've taken on that risk of building a casino business, you're already doing good. To answer the question about dreaming of owning a casino, yes I do have that dream once because that's probably the easiest business in my opinion at that time but then reality hits and I saw the dark side of owning a casino and how being an owner, I am also contributor to the rampant gambling addiction that's plaguing people around the world.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Meta's no ads subscription and gambling disorder. on: November 07, 2023, 07:59:10 AM
Peak consumerism in action, people are so scared of ads and at how annoying they are that companies are using that frustration as a way to make money for themselves and give you the convenience of not seeing ads because people are so scared of ads that it might influence them. Also, wouldn't this be a useless thing anyway because you're going to see content creators having their own in-video ads that directly pays them? Regarding less gambling ads that might influence gamblers or make recovering gambling addicts relapse, I believe in the power of advertising and I believe that this might moderately reduce the people that will try gambling or anything of the like.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: at which point of a boxing match you consider cashingout? on: November 07, 2023, 07:03:05 AM
Hmmm this is an interesting question to ask. If I ever bet on an underdog and he knocked down his opponent in the first round, I'd probably risk it til the final bell rings coz if he dropped his opponent in the first round then he could do it in the following rounds. But one thing to consider is how did he knock his opponent, like a lucky punch, sucker punch but counted, accidental headbutt or just a counted slip then I'd probably think about cashing out after this. However, with Fury vs Ngannou fight I'm hundred percent on Ngannou on this, won't even think of cashing out if got dropped.
Unless the underdog knocks out the favorite, the match is still anyone's game still and there are a lot of times that the winner have been knocked down or sometimes slipped so that's not a good indicator that the underdog might win, for me it's who is more consistent on landing power punches and aggressiveness, with that parameter it's more likely to know if the boxer is likely to win although given how corrupt the boxing federation is, there's a possibility that the likely winner wouldn't be declared the winner, look at what happened to the Ngannou vs Fury fight, didn't Ngannou knocked down Fury? Who's got the belt anyway? In terms of cashing out though, it depends for me because if I'm not betting a lot in the fight, I might not mind losing my money riding it out till the end but if I bet a lot and I can see that the amount I can get out is pretty significant then I might consider depending on the circumstances surrounding the fight.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: November 07, 2023, 06:12:37 AM
Yes, that's right, when we have won, of course we will continue to place bets to be able to get even bigger wins and of course we will spend all the winnings we have so that nothing is left behind, including the capital we brought to place bets.

This happens because we cannot control ourselves in gambling, therefore it would be good for us to be able to control ourselves so that we don't get addicted to gambling because if we are addicted to gambling it will certainly have a bad impact on us, especially in terms of finances, we will spend more money on gambling rather than for our own needs.
Not most people, I think that the reason why you think that most people that win big and continue playing in hopes of getting more wins is probably because you're playing mostly with your friends and we know that most of the time, people that are playing with friends succumb to peer pressure to gamble more even after a significant win because of the combined belief that the win you've got might not be the only win you can get. Maybe if you're playing alone, you might be able to quit while you're ahead but if you still can't then the problem isn't with your friends anymore.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice for new comers on: November 07, 2023, 05:28:03 AM
Just play for fun and no matter how much your mind wants to chase losses and hope that you will win, follow your set principle on how long you're going to gamble. In fact, when the time that that kind of stuff is ringing through your head (chasing losses), that's probably a good time to stop gambling even if you still have any remaining funds for your gambling session for that day. Trust me, when the lose streak comes, it's inevitable that you're going to see more losses because you're having more and more problems thinking straight because you want to win so bad.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 06, 2023, 02:15:25 PM
I think that's a neat idea especially if you don't like to think too much and analyze too much when you're betting, especially with Parlays too, I think that if you're not that good with betting but you want to join in on the action, I think that copying other players bet can be a good idea especially if you're the indecisive kind of person. I don't think that other's luck is a thing that's transferable or even a real thing so I'm not that reliant on luck, what I rely on as much as I can is probably logic.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s your strategy on high volatility slot game? on: November 06, 2023, 12:50:33 PM
I play slot games but I always avoid high volatility slot games such as hacksaw and nolimit because this provider often gives more lose bets without hitting anything big even with bonus round. I’m not how did some players manage to become successful hitting huge multiplier from this provider.

Are betting fixed amount of spin on each game then move on to the next slot game after the you reach your target spin count or you wait to hit something big before you switch games.

In an event that you hit early huge multiplier, do you still play using same game or you immediately switch different game?
What does moving to another slots game do though? Will that make any difference? Because if I recall, slots are pretty random and they don't have any set number of spin before any wins so I don't think that your ritual is really doing you any favors. Aren't most slots regardless of the volatility still the same to the core? So I'm stumped why would someone change to a different game if it's essentially the same game as any other slots?
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Telegram Casinos good or bad? on: November 05, 2023, 02:19:07 PM
I'm not going to try them anyways so the only way that I can answer this is by saying that they're most likely a bad thing, Telegram's a scammers haven or paradise and I don't think that's the first place that you're looking for when you're going to gamble, it kind of sounds weird and at the same time makes you stay on Telegram for as long as you normally would which I think is a waste of time. Also, it's also pointed out that the good TG casinos are on good Telegram channels and I don't really have the time to join and find out if they're a good channel just to gamble in one when there's already established websites that I can get in like my signature campaign and many other crypto gambling platforms that are also advertising here through signature campaigns.
239  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: November 05, 2023, 01:37:44 PM
I’m not sure about this but probably the catch is the potential donation for those who will be helped by this service or some purchasable materials that gives more detailed approach to solving the addiction problem.
Donations aren't a bad thing, I do think that if we want this kind of charity to keep serving more people and help more people recover from their gambling addiction, I do think that donations shouldn't be a thing that we should be too penny pinching about because that's the only way they can keep their service going and it's not like most of them are subsidized or helped by the government. To be fair to the donators though, it's important that any charity should have a transparent auditing of all the donations that goes through their organization so people will be more encouraged in donating to whatever cause they're trying to act upon.
I hope that I will NOT use this someday but it’s really nice to have this kind of service available on gambling board of the forum since I’m almost become like this on my previous gambling activity.  Cheesy
I'll hope with you too that me and you won't have to use this to solve our gambling addiction but I think it's not a good thing for us to say that it's not for us, these kinds of organization are the kind that looks like you don't need but when you need them the most, you'll be looking for them. Kindd of like paper clips or any other small negligible stuff in your office or home, you see it everyday but you won't see one when you finally need them.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are too focused on history repeating itself on: November 05, 2023, 12:37:54 PM
You are speaking as if 2020 was a bad year for Bitcoin. It wasn't. There was COVID, yeah, but it was a fantastic year for Bitcoin. It was as though there wasn't a global pandemic happening, wreaking havoc in every country's economy. The year opened with the price of Bitcoin at around $6,000. By the time the year closed, the price had already risen more than $20,000. And then the rise continued the following year even though it was still a pandemic year. Although the price corrected around the middle of 2021, it quickly recovered and registered an ATH by the last quarter.
That's probably because OP has some bad experience at that time and OP surrounded himself with people that has experienced the same thing so OP concluded that 2020 was a bad year. I guess it depends on how you look at it, if you're a bearish investor at that time, you're probably creaming your pants during the black swan event but if you're not one then you're probably having a different reaction. In regards to the title, I guess that people are way too focused on the repetition in history is by the fact that bitcoin's pattern throughout it's Genesis is almost close to being the same, a halving being followed by a huge pump that resulted in a new ATH, if that's the pattern that keeps on repeating, you can't really blame the people if they're focused on that alone.
