301  Economy / Gambling / Re: ▄■▀■▄ 🌟BITVEST.io🌟 💰WIN BY 🔶PLAY 📈INVEST➡🔺🎲🎰🔲 | BET CONTEST ▄■▀■▄ on: October 21, 2023, 01:06:21 PM
To be fair, people hardly ever talk just about their gambling experience, because, usually, there's not much to talk about. There needs to be something interesting to spark any discussion, i.e. some huge win or loss, some special event etc. So if we were to limit the discussion purely to gambling, this thread would hardly ever be bumped to the top page.
I mean if the campaign really is inactive, there's really nothing to talk about and it's insane to bump the thread just to remind people that the casino is inactive. Totally agree that if we want to spark any interest or discussion in the gambling thread, the said gambling thread should consider promotions or bonuses but it's Bitvest.io, they've been on this platform for a long time, no need for bonuses to spark discussions, just coming back from a long slumber would definitely be enough.
302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: October 21, 2023, 11:34:06 AM
You know what they say that success is everybody's friend but failure is a bastard, so if you're a gambler and you're making fortunes from gambling, at the same time making out quality time to be with loved ones, believe me you'll hardly have a problem with their relationship. Especially when you're responsible in meeting up with your financial obligations without making any excuses. I think that the reason why some gamblers might have issues in their relationship is mainly because they give excuses in their financial obligations, if there's nothing to show for all the efforts that they put in gambling.
That's not really a justification as to why you should keep gambling even though it's severing or damaging your relationships. Of course it's different story if you are winning all the time or that you are responsible in your gambling habits but that's not the rule, it's an exception. Can you do what you're talking or you're just saying that because you think it's right because I feel like you make it look easy to sever bonds to justify gambling as if that's what's happening to every gamblers out there.
This is very much on point.

A gambler that is responsible to his duties and obligations will less likely have a problem regarding his gambling routine and to the people around him, and this includes his connection and relationship to the people important in his life. If someone is disciplined enough to practice moderate and responsible gambling, there will be no spouse that will complain and be irritated about the gambling practice. If the needs are being met at home, no wife will be a nagger and there will be no argument. So as easy as that, you should be responsible to your financial obligations to your family and to yourself so you will avoid trouble.
Not on point dude, as much you and I agree on what @Kelward said, that's not really the case for every gambler out there, what he's saying is the ideal thing you can do when you're gambling while at the same time justifying it when that's not really the case. I don't know about you guys but if a person who is really disciplined, is also smart enough to not start gambling to test his/her discipline.
303  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: October 21, 2023, 02:10:24 AM
I've seen Thurman fight and even though he has a cocky attitude, his fighting style in my opinion is something to look out for, he won't be fighting Pacquiao if he wasn't worthy. Plus the wealth of experience that he's got compared to Stanionis is a big help. I'd put my money on Thurman on this fight although I would probably consider arbitrage betting.
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Much do you Value your Privacy in Gambling? on: October 20, 2023, 12:21:49 PM
I don't know if this will make sense to anyone but if I were to describe my valuation of my privacy, I would compare it to someone who would choose a shady casino that doesn't do any KYC. I think that that's how intense I value my privacy. If I put it in simple terms, I'd rather risk my money than for some random entity online to have my information which I know that they're going to have a lot of use when they get it. Maybe my mindset of not being attached on material things helps me formulate towards that privacy valuation so this might not be making sense to others.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 20, 2023, 07:22:44 AM
If gambling ads are banned and kids do not see such a thing, this will reduce the way kids are gambling. In my country as an example, there are gambling ads everywhere, on YouTube and TV channels, in a way kids can easily know that they can go online to gamble. It is true that gambling is in the mind of humans naturally, but the explanation of the kids that you explained is different from the land based and online gambling because there is nio way that can lead to addiction.
Or better yet, a better parenting because these external factors will always expose the kid to the things that any parents fear the most, no matter how protective you are, the best thing that you should do is to teach your kid the stuff that they need to know and the consequences of doing the actions, yes gambling would be difficult to explain but at the least you can probably find a way to talk to them about stuff. Teach them to think for themselves, basic morality and decency and dignity should be honed at an early age, I mean I've grown up with close to what I've said and look at me, I didn't stray too far on to the right path.
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 20, 2023, 01:52:53 AM
Yes, you can make a career by becoming a professional gambler, although the only games that you can really make a career out of is the games poker and blackjack I believe because those are the only games that takes skill unlike other games in the casino where the house edge are mostly favorable towards the house. To cite some examples of professional gamblers, Phil Ivey plays blackjack, baccarat and poker another player I can think of is Daniel Negreneau, pretty good mf at reading the exact cards you've got, also the students from the movie 21, I think they count as professional gamblers because they're math whizzes that do expert and subtle card counting. Another professional gambler that I can think of is probably that Bryan Cranston movie where they buy a lot of lottery tickets and they put in all the possible combination and soloing all the winnings.
307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Casino Industry's Contribution On Your Country By Percentage on: October 19, 2023, 02:41:03 PM
In my country, the current report it's around 3.7 billion USD, it doubled after the ease of restrictions in the pandemic protocols last year. The article I've checked which is the first article didn't have the exact percentage but I can attest that the gambling industry in the country is a thriving thing legitimate or illegitimate. Not to mention that most of the money made in that 3.7 billion USD is mostly from state run lotteries which is a big gambling thing for many of my paisanos for a long time now, even before I was born.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 19, 2023, 11:53:28 AM
Are there really people like that? It seems strange to me that someone will continue in gambling when failure is experienced in every gambling activity. That does not seem reasonable to me. Maybe they have had a major win before the series of losses....
With 8 billion people, it's not unlikely that there's that kind of person out there that still gamble even if they're losing, technically every gambling addict is that kind of person that OP is describing/talking about, they're eventually losing even if they win sometimes and when they lose their money, they'll just come back again to do the same thing.
There is a very simple reason why people continue gambling even though they are constantly losing more and that is, they are chasing their losses all the time hoping one day they'll hit a jackpot and recover it all.
That's not really the case for some, trust me when I say that when this people you're describing and when they win, they will definitely still gamble hoping to get bigger wins, there's no endgame for them especially if they're addicted to gambling.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 19, 2023, 07:20:26 AM
There is definitely nothing wrong with crying after regretting a decision or out of grief about what has happened, but why record yourself crying and put it for the public to see? That's the point I'm unable to understand, and it indicates that the person is probably trying to get sympathy from people for what she has lost when it's completely her own fault since she is an adult and she probably knew that one can lose everything in gambling as it involves a lot of risks.
Are you born yesterday to ask that question? Of course she did that for clout and attention and you're already on point with the notion that she's asking for sympathy but we don't have to be quick to judge because it's not like everyone is the same, there are some people that's really not that good dealing with pain alone and social media seems to be able to do that so I should say that to a certain degree, not to judge the whole person.
People need to understand one simple thing; gambling isn't a way for them to double or triple their money, it's not a guaranteed way to achieve wealth but it's just a way to either have some fun or just try your luck, don't just keep spending your money with the hope that you might win something big in the next bet, that bet doesn't come.
I used to think that a lot of people know this but seeing this kind of stuff and knowing that there are people like this that I work with or I have acquainted that thinks that you can make money gambling, it's a good thing that we're reminded from time to time. I guess a lot of people are due for a little self-introspection nowadays.
310  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hodlie: AI-powered BTC trading bots for the everyday user on: October 19, 2023, 05:25:30 AM
The claims made by the OP are not believable if you ask me, the pro version is too cheap for the supposed benefits that it offers, as if any of those bots actually worked then you could recover your investment really quickly, however this goes both ways, the developer of such bots will be able to earn what they charge for their monthly subscription by using their bots if they worked, so why not remain silent about it and use their bots in this way?

Because they do not work obviously, now this is bad enough but you also need to link your binance wallet as well, making it very likely that you can get scammed at any moment by the developer of those bots.
Well it definitely isn't believable, you've said it already, if the AI trading bot is that effective then they wouldn't share it to anyone, I mean that's what I would probably do too but no they've decided to share it which means that they're not sure it will work and they want to make money out of it while they're still testing it and with that linking in your wallet, that's definitely a red flag.

Now this is will probably be the case of AI trading bots for a really long time but the AI developers should never be discouraged regarding developing trader bots because AI at best is in infancy right now, as long as progress is a thing, we should expect bots for different purpose become good and even better than us.
311  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Scam/Fake Binance Word of the Day (WOTD) on: October 19, 2023, 03:08:59 AM
I do not trust any of these connect your wallet sites. If I have to connect a wallet, i'll just go elsewhere. I've seen a few times where scammers drain wallets with this method. Good catch here @OP. Better to be safe than sorry and just avoid this crap.
I think every veteran BCT user has the same instinct as you. I'd rather risk not getting into the airdrop than connecting my wallet to their website.

I like to put myself in the mind of the scammer who's doing this, how did that scammer come up with WOTD as a means to scam people? It's not like there's a person out there that takes crypto this serious that they have to have this on their phone, without knowing how that scammer thinks, I assume that this scammer would probably have an easy time using the most brain dead scam that everyone knows compared to doing this, I can't wrap my head around how they can scam people into putting their wallet in that site.
312  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Phishing Stake.com Giveaway on: October 19, 2023, 01:45:27 AM
Nice catch, the funny thing here is that they're using Dana White's picture and he's probably not even talking about Stake here and I have to say that this is probably the most random picture of him, talking in a talkshow. I have to say though, they've got the most legitimate looking website if you don't look at their URL, scammers are getting more and more meticulous in their schemes now huh? Imagine if they've just find a web developing job, they seem to be proficient at doing that part.

Did my due diligence.
313  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User Support@web3devs Scammed 100 Pi coin on: October 18, 2023, 03:22:37 PM
That should've been a red flag when the asking price was so high and that they don't mind to pay for a coin that can't be withdrawn, and it's weird that Pi Coin still exists because my friends have warned me about that coin a long time ago and they're laughing at people that are promoting this coin. Either way, the scammer didn't really profited that much out of this scam, 30$ worth of Pi Coins is just a pathetic scam, might as well just return that coin, other scammers are probably laughing at that scammer right now. I feel bad for that scammer a little bit, sold his soul for 30$, that's not even enough to pay rent lmao.
314  Economy / Economics / Re: A dog that vomited and then ate the vomit again on: October 18, 2023, 07:02:03 AM
He could have some narrative behind why he continue to attack bitcoin, nevertheless the effect is just temporary though. Maybe he secretly invested on bitcoin, or someone as a hedge fund manager acts for him to be a investor, we will never know.
Couldn't have said it any better, if I am in Buffett's shoes I would probably do the same thing, talk shit about bitcoin because I have seen the potential of it to grow and I know that I have a lot of money and if I can lower it ever more using my influence then I can probably squeeze in more profit when I buy bitcoin when it becomes lower. I don't think that he needs to have someone act for him to invest in bitcoin, anyone can freely do it but given that his investments are numerous I would probably believe he does but that person who proxies for him is damn trustworthy.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what these people say or do, people should just stay away from anything centralized and stick to buying as much bitcoin as they can before it is too late Wink
Perfect statement but I have problem with this last part, even if you say that, you'll only probably sway 2 or 3 people, it's inevitable that the public will always do what others are going to say given that people in general aren't taught to think for themselves.
315  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you find yourself doing unnecessary purchases when there is plenty.. on: October 18, 2023, 05:03:50 AM
First time I've got a big amount of money, I definitely splurged on things that down the line, I've regretted purchasing albeit they're things that's fascinating to look at so the regret got less and less when I think back on it, eventually I've learned the concept of not being attached to material things when I was watching a Kids/Teen cartoon show, you become free when you're finally severed from your Earthly attachments, that's the lesson I've got in that show and it's still guiding me to some degree about how I deal with things especially if it involves money.
Yes, obviously, I think it's human nature though. But looking back I should have at least invest that money or just save it for future used. Because we don't know what the future lies ahead, maybe down the line there is some emergency within your family and you could have used that extra money to help.
That's the most wrong assumption about human nature I've read in a while, modern consumerism isn't human nature, it's a behavior that's shaped and created by the capitalist society that banks on having people consume the products produced by the businesses to make a profit and create the economical Oruburos which means that it's not natural, the fitting thing for this would be that it's human instinct to adapt and survive, now it's human nature.
316  Economy / Economics / Re: Isreal and Palestine war and losing your wallet phrase and password on: October 17, 2023, 03:23:31 PM
Have you consider that you lose all your coins because the wallet phrase to your coins and PC burn in a war.
So what will you do if you survive after the war to start back your financial struggling and your crypto investment journey. Or can you get the coins back?
I don't think that it's going for me or almost any person here to advice you about what to do next after surviving the war, so I will try my best to relate something and I think the closest would be a fire engulfing a house but that's still a different story. If I recall correctly, war torn country survivors are going to be refugees in other countries that's giving asylums, your best bet in that scenario is you become a refugee in a country that's not racist and against immigrants and if you can, establish a business (higher chance of business boom if it's food related given that new culture means curiosity for the locals who've never tried the new culture's cuisine), I mean that's what a lot of immigrants have opted to do when they went to other countries right? If you have the passphrase saved somewhere online, you can probably get it back.
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 17, 2023, 01:10:08 PM
Others have already pointed out that this money is unfortunately irreversibly lost. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, there's nobody to change is back to the way it was before. But if a person gave someone a down payment in cash, it would be the same. With a bank transaction, the chances of actually convincing the bank to cancel a transaction of the ground of being scammed without going to court also seems highly unlikely to me, though. And the window when the bank hasn't actually sent the money yet isn't big, it's around a couple of days. So being ripped off is a very unfortunate situation, but it would be hard to navigate with fiat money as well, if we're being realistic.
If you have the necessary information to back up your claim that you are getting scammed, the bank will definitely consider freezing the scammers account or even help you and law enforcement to track down the scammer which is one of the few selling points of doing bank transactions for something like this. I wouldn't say that it's difficult to navigate fiat money, the problem is financial literacy isn't a thing for many people so they don't know a lot about money even though they're adults, just ask your local financial advisor about different financial questions you've got, pretty sure they're going to help you.

I feel bad for what happened to OP but at the same time a bit appalled that OP trusted someone online especially when it involves money. Plus points for OP though for not being bothered too much from getting ripped off.
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am 19 years old boy living in South korea. Please give me an advice on: October 17, 2023, 10:18:54 AM
~
100 dollar is for personal use. I can use it to anything I want. I use father's credit card for my expenses.
I'll hold you to that statement which means that I am going to tell you to look at yourself and do some self-introspection, are you the kind of person that's going to be going out to have a few drinks with your friends once in a while? Or are you the one that just wants to stay at home or invite them there to have a few drinks? Your answer to these questions would be helpful on how much of that money is going top be in bitcoin, there are other stuff besides those 2 questions that I've said but I hope you get the point. Now if you're the loner type that have a really small circle of friends, I would just carelessly advice you to invest all of it in bitcoin.

Another thing to consider OP is that when you invest in bitcoin, expect price drops that would make you panic and might make you do something ridiculous like bailing out at a lower price than when you've bought your bitcoin, hodling will be a test of patience for you.
Try www.bitcrash.games where people are doubling their monies/crypto within a couple minutes
This is not the right advice for you OP, don't use that money to gamble, just invest it in bitcoin and hodl. Wth, that's a blatant and reckless way to promote your business, I guess it's normal since it's crash.
319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am 19 years old boy living in South korea. Please give me an advice on: October 17, 2023, 08:40:36 AM
Can we know your living conditions in South Korea? Because depending on where you're in the country, the expenses will be different and if you're in Seoul, you're going to need all the money you've got and those that's sent to you because Seoul is one of the most expensive city in the world. Check your expenses and try to maintain a 1 week routine and see if there's any money left before the next aid comes, if you're struggling to make ends meet at that 1 week routine, you probably need to focus on daily expenses first before investing in bitcoin. This advice is purely my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.
320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evolution of Money: From Barter system to Bitcoin on: October 17, 2023, 07:42:47 AM
In my opinion, bitcoin is not a successor to fiat currency because basically bitcoin is the antithesis of a centralized fiat system. Bitcoin is a big vision and a form of resistance to the centralized fiat system and criticism of fiat money which is always printed continuously.
Antithesis is definitely the right word for this, bitcoin was created by Satoshi because he wants people to have more control over their money and that they're able to earn it themselves by mining it directly.
I hope one day bitcoins will be accepted all over the world and that would be a big leaf for mankind because we can get rid of paper money which we know is being used by banks and other governments to put pressure on individuals. If only people could create detectors to determine those people who are using bitcoins for their illegal activities such as drugs and other illegal kinds of stuff, we might have already seen it happen in the past because there would be no more problems after that.
It will eventually, the resistance is coming from the older generation of politicians and people that still thinks that there should be no changes in the minimum wage and that the rent should get higher, once these old and traditional cronies get replaced by the younger generation especially the millenials and those that have an exposure to technology, acceptance of bitcoin is going to be smooth because either the resistance of the government into accepting bitcoin becomes less difficult or everyone agrees that they should accept it for the people. Another would be problem of bitcoin acceptance is probably the banks, they're not a fan of change and so they're definitely going to try to influence the new generation of politicians.
