321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give Bitcoin investment time on: October 16, 2023, 07:00:57 AM
One thing I noticed is impatient among the newbies investors since their mindset are always focused on profits maximisation and, secondly other thing that counts again is the approach just as you said, people didn't give them the real concept and how it works. I could remember someone telling me he will invest when bitcoin price is going up saying that now is too dip that he doesn't want to lose his money.. and I was like you don't want to buy dip and sell when is coming upor hold for long term? And he said yes then I didn't want to go Into argument with him because I know he is not ready to learn so I didn't go further telling him to buy because it's against his wish and whatever that comes out of it I may bear the blame.
That's because the people that have introduced them to bitcoin probably was embellishing stories and they don't balance out the negatives and the positives that bitcoin has, they solely focus on positives because they want the people to receive the bitcoin gospel wholly so they try to not talk about the negatives more often. Maybe it's the impatience, but I think that misinformation also plays a key role why newbies fail or experience loss early on their investment journey.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ's view on Halving on: October 16, 2023, 03:15:20 AM
I'm not going to lie but what CZ said is just a common sense, nothing profound to get out of it, just a keen observation of what to do when you feel unsure of the market movement at best. But I guess given that he's a prominent cryptocurrency figure it's going to be generating some social ease on people that's a bit worried about the market so in the end, I feel like me hating on what he's saying would be a nonsense thing to do, it's not like he's promoting anything besides the halving countdown clock on Binance.
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can CEX, institutional investors, whales, hinder or halt the growth of Bitcoin? on: October 16, 2023, 01:53:04 AM
I take it as a bullshit because the only way to control Bitcoin price is you need to own all Bitcoins, while FTX isn't own all Bitcoins.

Actually I don't understand why centralized exchange need to make the Bitcoin price below $20K, what's the point? they're making money from people who keep use their exchanges, so regardless what the Bitcoin price, they're still make profit.
It's not the question of who owns the bitcoins can control the price, the lesson in the article is that if the CEX conspire with whales and other big bitcoin players, they can easily change the value of bitcoin so people wouldn't see the true value but it's not really a big scare imo, I am sure that CEX needs to be honest about their dealings and that they have to make sure that they still put the interest of the people that's on their platform rather than their own but even that is a pipe dream. The reason that they're deceiving their users is because they're not content with the profits that they're getting out of providing services, they want to skim more for themselves.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robert Kennedy Jr. Promises to End White House War on Bitcoin on: October 15, 2023, 03:53:58 AM
He would get my vote over biden or trump.

Not a fan of 80 year old men running the country.

Kennedy is closer to my age of 66 so I rather pick him.

I double checked his age and he is 69.
But you have to know that politicians will say anything that they have to say so they sway more votes to their names? I mean that's been the thing for a long time already for politics, they promise something outrageous and then when they're finally in the seat of power, they start looking the other way and breaking all the promises especially those that they're passionate about when they were just asking for a vote. Hopefully this man though will not just be an all talk no walk kind of guy, I have my doubts though given that time and time again, promises are always broken.
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: October 15, 2023, 02:00:37 AM
To be honest, I think that it's high time for us to stop pitting bitcoin and gold or X investment against each other, it's always going to arrive at the same conclusion that they're different and that they each have their own pros and cons. Maybe there are some really attractive advantage to this one compare to other it just so happens that the person comparing or telling you the investment has some degree of personal bias. The best thing you can do when you're in the same dilemma is do a self-assessment and see what really works for you, bitcoin is for people who don't mind the volatile nature of its market and those people do mind losing the value of their investment because they know that bitcoin's return will be high, so if you're not in that category at all then you have to be second-guessing whether you should invest in bitcoin or not.
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 01:01:50 AM
Just because of this one incident happening doesn't mean that your claim that you can't trust gambling houses that have agents, it's just that the business that hired that agent didn't do their due diligence of investigating the person before hiring them. The only saving grace to the situation that you're talking about would be that the owner would still pay the person and conduct an investigation to arrest or apprehend the agent.

Another reason why you should carry out a proper background check before employing anyone. We do not just deal with gambling addicts, also deal with thieves in physical sports bookies.
That's what I thought too, background checks does wonders although given the limited information, it's safe to also assume that the gambling shop did their due diligence of background check and this was just the moment that the agent finally found the price for selling his soul/dignity.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: October 14, 2023, 11:31:21 PM
I think all games have their good and bad days, so some people sometimes keep playing even though they know that they won't win that day, or feel they are too unlucky to bet at that time.
What you have to do is be patient or try another day, but that's difficult for those who are used to having to play without ever thinking about the target.
I mean that's how things are in gambling, being patient in gambling requires that you're already a patient person outside gambling and not just because you're gambling, you can't just will a habit to be instilled to you just because you wanted it for your current purposes.

The first gambling I've played is when I was in elementary and it was just a circle of friends, we copied some kind of dice game we've seen from the adults, I can't remember the mechanics of the game but it was a fun game to spend our spare lunch money at that time.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 14, 2023, 04:14:30 PM
~
Quitting is the only way to not plunge yourself into debts. If you lose in gambling and you keep on playing thinking that you would win you would end up with more losses and no wins.

Please log out mentally and physically after a loss or a win. Because we can still ask this question in this way, if we win in gambling, what do we need to do? The answer for both is same thing.
Thanks for doing a TLDR in my previous post, basically I just want to tell people that the only out there is quitting. Helps that you did say the same thing again. Smiley Your second statement don't make sense, what same thing are we talking about?

Once pressured and frustrated, people are often choosing to just embrace the risk and hope that things would be better. I’d say a self-destructive approach is what frustrations push gamblers to do.

Let’s say you continued playing regardless of the huge loss. Your goal at this instance would be to get your losses back but once it got back, you’d look forward for a profit since you managed to win. This is where things become a cycle.
I don't know about that belief but I don't think there's a lot of people that will just jump the shark just because they've lost a large amount of money in gambling in such a short amount of time. With the second statement, it's another situational thing, results vary per individual although the difference is easily distinguishable, some will quit after a break even, some will continue as you've stated but not everyone will be doing the same thing.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 14, 2023, 02:58:04 PM
In your opinion, what should we do if we have lost a lot of money on gambling? Do we keep gambling to win so we can cover up previous losses? or stop and work normally and leave gambling? Or do you have other suggestions?
If you still have a control over yourself, then the best thing that you can do is to quit, that's the shortest answer there is and I don't think that there's no better alternative than just quitting entirely thinking of all the losses you've got. Or if you're still in denial that you're addicted to gambling or that you're making an excuse to not stop gambling, the best thing that you can do is to continue playing or quitting for now and then starting over again next day to try and recoup your losses the last time by believing that you're not going to be playing as bad as the last time.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 13, 2023, 09:58:49 AM
I think you have never watched Fury fights before. Even though he is fat, really fat, he has enough stamina for 12 rounds. I have never seen him breathing heavily during fights. Dont forget, that behind that fat, there are muscles like steel, that were formed during hours of training. Of course no one cancels deadly punch to the liver, but try to punch throw all that defense and fat. Similar to Ngannou. The fact that he is more fit, probably has 6pack instead of lifebuoy that Fury has, does not mean he has more stamina. Btw, all those muscles eat more stamina than fat.
Dude definitely doesn't watch Fury fight and doesn't know that you can be muscular beneath those chubby stomach plus Fury already has the mass and the punching power, anything that involves training would be an excess to him. I didn't know about the muscles eating more stamina than fat so I have to be doubtful of that, doing further research on that.

My take on this fight would be that Fury would win this match up, that I am sure given that boxing is the match otherwise it would be Ngannou that's going to be winning if the setting was in MMA. My reasoning for my prediction is flimsy though as I believe that Ngannou's MMA instinct is going to be something that he has to fight consciously so that he won't commit any violation in boxing meanwhile for Fury, it's just fight as usual. Unless Ngannou's conditioning is top-tier combined with his knockout punching power, there's a small possibility that he will score the victory.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a strategy to lose on: October 13, 2023, 07:45:26 AM
Can you tell me one person in the forum that really believes that though? I highly doubt that there's one and that they're expanding their horizons in gambling games to increase their chances of winning, the likely reason that they're probably doing this is that they want to try new kind of games, gambling on only one game would get boring eventually and it's going to be boring much faster when you're losing in that game and I don't think that it's not a bad thing that people are gambling on different games, it's their money that they're spending anyways.

It's no doubt that Poker for example is all about been cunning, logical and deception to gain power over your opponent, it's called upper advantage, this is way different from games like Blackjack, roulette or Slots.

So imagine doing all these together, most gambling games needs your understanding of the odds and taking them into account, especially when wagering, so how can a gambler get involved in all games at once just to increase their chances of getting lucky? Stop this as it's not a strategy to win, it's a strategy to lose.
Of course poker and blackjack would be different, they would be both called poker or blackjack if they both have the same mechanics, it's just a matter of house edge calculation to see which one is going to give you an advantage. Gamblers don't need to involved in different games all at ones, just tell them to focus on one game and your topic would've been much easier to understand.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 13, 2023, 06:14:13 AM
I have to say that those who are gambling at work are people who cant manage their time well. Working time should be used wisely, to focus on the work only but I wont deny that I have done it before because I was so bored with what I do in my office. I realize that it is a mistake and I do not do it again till now to avoid something bad with my career. Better to manage our gambling time, gamble when we have free time only, time when we have nothing to do at all. Time is priceless especially when it comes with our family, job, or relationship.
It's quite the contrary because if you can gamble at your work and you can still do your work, that can only mean that you have the ability to multitask which also means that you have a way or a system where you can do multiple task at a time. But I'm not saying that my opinion is right as there's always other that don't have the ability to focus on stuff at multiple angles. Regarding respecting your working time, I think that it's a matter of perspective, if you're paid below minimum in your work, I don't think that it's in your best interest to waste all of it working, there's going to down times in your work and if your loyalty doesn't equate to a higher pay, why put a lot of effort? But I digress, we should still respect that we are doing something outside of our normal working duties so when you're gambling during work, it's always important to remember to prioritize work before gambling.

I have many friends at workplace betting on football matches at workplace. They generally do it through their mobile phones as office doesn't have strict rules. We generally discuss possible results of weekend matches when we are out on break time for like 15 minutes. Its something fun to do on break time. Many people go out to smoke anyways. Its generally far better experience to discuss gambling than do something unhealthy. I believe gambling/betting at working hours is not something cool tho.

It's the same with me although it's mostly basketball matches and DOTA2 tournaments, they're even trying to make me get into their betting games to put in some money but I don't really like betting on those plus the odds are not that high and the way they analyze which team to bet on is subpar and who's got a higher odds which is a recipe for disaster in my opinion.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 rematch on: October 13, 2023, 02:37:15 AM
It is actually "Pacquiao" not "Pacquaio". Well as a kababayan of Manny I think this fight depends on Mayweather's camp decision because Manny will of course has the gut to fight. It is true that a rematch or an exhibition fight would be too risky for Mayweather as he is taking care of his 50-0 career record. Mayweather's team knew that Manny has something to prove against their dude. I might be wrong but yeah I don't think it will happen in the future.
Given that it's definitely going to garner a lot of money, Mayweather will definitely grab the opportunity for a rematch and he knows already how things will end up anyway, I am sure that it's going to be the same as last time plus Pacquiao isn't the same as his prime comparing that to Mayweather, I am sure that he's (Pacquiaoo) is going to have a hard time again. Totally agree that it's unlikely to happen and it's just going to be a rumor.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 13, 2023, 01:29:06 AM
A parent that does this should be ashamed of himself because he's not teaching the child or children something he's deliberate about, one thing about children and how they learn is that, they are more very attractive to some personal behavioural characters they see the parents do even without them being told to do thesame, they learn from those behaviors unconsciously and when we are gambling in front of the children, we are passing a message to them at our unaware foolishness and the children are receiving such, these are the same way bad environment do creates a negative influence over the children as they were being exposed to it.
Totally, I think that a parent should be a person that someone you can look up to on things that would make someone a model citizen or a person that others look up to. And to see parents letting their children know and let them watch gamble is just a weird thing to do because as a parent, responsibilities change and a lot of stuff that you can usually do child-free should take a step back or even be removed altogether.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yesterday marked 200 days to Bitcoin Halving on: October 12, 2023, 04:03:26 AM
From what I observe on this current price level and compare it to previous Bitcoin block halvings. I am more positive that we will not see anymore new lows, maybe a very nonstable or sideways will still be there, 200 days are still long plus we are about to end the 2023 year, so we should expect the unexpected.
Even if the halving happens, we're still probably going to wait a long time for any significant pump in the prices because it was the same for the last market pump, it took bitcoin a year before it can get to a new ATH, and besides the halving we probably need another significant market move because other than halving for us to truly see another ATH but you're right, expect the unexpected.
336  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best Parlay Bets for this upcoming weekend in all sports areas on: October 12, 2023, 02:03:42 AM
Not fan of parlay bets to be honest it kinda ruin what's my strategy for a bet and I'm only having fun dealing with one or two bets that aren't joined. Never have made any parlay bets in the past and I think never want to risk it in the future as well. The only good thing with parlay is that it has huge win compare to a single bet but it has more risk of course.
I don't think anyone's a fan of parlay bets because it's goddamn difficult to hit one but when it hits, you're going to be the happiest person for awhile. Of course there's close to no advantage to parlay bets for players that's why the reward is just too damn big to pass up. Plus, with parlay bets, the casino keeps themselves afloat with all the parlay bets that have failed.

Regarding parlay bets, try The International 2023 DOTA2 Esports, haven't checked it yet but a there are in-game parlay although there's no money involved there so I am sure there are betting sites doing parlay bets on the International 2023.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 11, 2023, 01:34:04 PM
I would have to assess the proposal first, I have learned for awhile now to not easily dismiss or decline stuff that isn't right for me, I first have to ask the questions and see if the risks outweighs the benefits and the other way around. So in this case, I would probably say that I should see my friend play or even just ask what kind of game my friend is gambling in, if I see that it's something that's heavily based on luck then I would outright decline but if it's not the case and my friend is good at it, I am probably going to go help that friend although I can't be the sugar daddy that my friend will just bleed me dry but back to reality, when that reall  happens to you, that friend of yours is already addicted and you financing your friend's gambling habit is not going to help that friend.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 11, 2023, 11:50:45 AM
- Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

The only people I have seen bet horse races are old people and I don't think that there's not a lot of people that's in this forum that has bet on one even if they say so, I really miss betting or at the least watching one because there's 2 spots in my city that I know of that hosts horse race bets, I see them on my commute back when I was still a highschool student and I can remember that almost always, it's the same people there that's watching and holding their tickets with their bets on it, now those 2 spots have been closed. Another one that I'd like to see hosted here besides horse race is cockfighting and dog race, they're pretty cool games to bet on too.
339  Economy / Gambling / Re: Suddenly I am receving warnings for every casinos sites. on: October 11, 2023, 09:03:58 AM
Is this your first time trying it on the Brave Browser? I think Brave actively blocks out websites they deem dangerous for your network or pc. Try using a different browser and see if there are any difference, if that doesn't happen then there's a possibility that it's an ISP thing and you might have to contact them.
340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navigating the World of Online Gambling on: October 11, 2023, 07:50:28 AM
~

You should know that it's very uneasy to firstly identify an unknown enemy, when a casino is launching for a start, people try to rush in to give a try and test their system, other things that draws more attention is their bonus plan and offers, but indeed by this time, many would have forgotten that it's risky to use a casino that has no past records of their successful achievement and that it not also a way we should just trust any gambling platform like that without having it at the back of our minds that we are taking the risk also involved in gambling.
That's why you should have some awareness and see the subtle signs because those could be a big problem leaking out in small portions like the casino failing to do customer service or halting a players game or not paying one winner. Discipline and being aware thate something so good can be a trap to scam people is a good thing to keep in mind so you can prevent losses in case the new casino is actually a scam casino.
