581  Other / Meta / Re: Is resetting a BTT account password bad? on: August 09, 2023, 04:58:48 PM
You are free, and no one is against you changing your password because, as you indicated, it is for security reasons.
But what reason would that be that you resort to changing passwords? I mean, you can just tick the Always Logged In in your browser so you don't have to relog. I don't know of any reason that someone will hack your forum account even if it makes a lot of money from signature campaigns, you can always report that you're account's stolen.

When an account activates and appears suspicious, or the manner of posting and interactions in the account changes, reputable forum users usually use the password changing time as evidence to show the user wrong or to protect the account from being utilised by a hacker.
Highly circumstantial evidence though, what if they've forgotten their password or they've updated their password scheme but that's an unlikely thing to happen. Most password changes are almost always suspicious given how account selling is a thing here. Nothing wrong with changing password, as long as you can prove it's you by signing your PGP key, this one pretty much helps you avoid the suspicion altogether.

583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: August 08, 2023, 05:51:28 PM
What is the point of discussing if doping is allowed during Olympic games or not, if every athlete uses it unintentionally in medicine and sport supplement they take. There are not clean athletes in professional sport. And Olympic games are not about sports, but which country has best pharmacology and which athlete cleans his body better. Imho doping should be allowed, but it has to be controlled, there must be standards.
You saying that these athletes who've trained for a really long time to compete in the highest competition in terms of sports are doping is such an insult to them as you are basically saying that there's no way that human body can reach those heights in athleticism without the help of performance enhancers. That's what I would I expect of someone who doesn't do sports, that everyone who can do what they can't do can't be real and that they're cheating in some way. Also, where did you get that bullshit opinion that there's no clean athletes in any sports? Is the data peer-reviewed? Are there investigations that supports the claim? Any scientific journals? The reason you want doping to be allowed is cause you're weak.

We should also tell them that they need to stop creating those What If topics like What If you win blah blah blah, it's getting tiring to answer the same shit, maybe do some creativity to the hypothetical questions that's really going to cause a debate and not just a one sided cult like answers, it's tiring although those topics do make you think against the current, you can filter out those who put some thoughts in their answers.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 08, 2023, 03:10:36 PM
Even with $600000, the fear of going broke again will still never leave my side because yes $600000 is a big amount of money at the same time you are still not far from going broke because people like living the extravagant life just to make other people be aware that they are now successful.
That's because you're so attached to material things that you're going to get crazy when you lose something. Sometimes people forget that to rest when they're already where they want to be, always desiring more. Maybe I'm saying this because that kind of money is enough for me to retire in 20s. But yeah, in this hypothetical situation I don't see the point of being too worried about being broke again when it's just money. If you want to be able to win at this hypothetical question and keep the money while being satisfied, learn to treat yourself now of things that you want and learn the ability to be content with what you have, that way when this really happens, you're not chasing the high and extravagant life for far too long.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 08, 2023, 10:49:36 AM
If it is were the old days when women were restricted I would have said that this is really true but things are advancing now and most of the country now women are now taking part in almost all the activities that were once reserve for men only and that also includes gambling habits too.
Even if that's true, there's probably a statistics to back OP's claim that the major demographic for gambling is men, I could probably say that it's true as I have been to a lot of gambling spots when I commute when I was studying and now working and I don't see a lot of women betting on horse races, dog races, even poker tables, probably the reason that some women are in those spots is because some of them work there or they're with some man who gamble or the casino allows hookers to work there and give some of the gambling men a good time.
587  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: August 08, 2023, 09:13:37 AM
You do have to keep it if you're so insecure about your habit and you care too much about what people say, I say let them judge you, you're living on their heads rent-free, don't you want that? People waste their time talking shit about you? It's not like their words will be a problem for you. And also, keeping your habit known means that when it becomes an addiction, people can intervene and help you. I can give you an example of why you shouldn't keep your habits especially the destructive ones a secret, Hillel Slovak and Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers are both heroin junkies but Hillel wasn't as open to his habit unlike Anthony and so he's mostly alone when he scores which ended his life due to an overdose and with no help around him, he passed away.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: August 08, 2023, 07:10:55 AM
[
If you are onto gambling for the first time it's not possible to get addicted to gambling because you haven't tasted what winning feels like, you will be consumed by doubts and uncertainty.

But wait till you have a taste, win some money, that's where you start feeling like there is more if you keep digging, is this not where gambling addiction starts?

Do you think its possible to become addicted to gambling when you haven't win a dime or after you win?

I think addiction starts after you win, even if it's just once, that's when you start gambling recklessly and you also start betting higher.

Of course it's the first time, you can't get addicted on something without a first time experience. That depends though, some get addicted because of beginner's luck, they want to chase that high and in gambling that's difficult since it's a game of chance while others get addicted because they lost a lot the first time and they think that if they stop, they won't be able to get to the winning moment because they stopped and then they go back to my first example, they will chase that high.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peer pressure as a substantial gambling catalyst. on: August 08, 2023, 06:27:35 AM
Yes, when we see other people make tons of money from gambling, we get curious to try it and make money too. Seeing the progress in the lives of other people through gambling, many people get attracted to it and think that gambling can give you a huge amount of money in a shorter period of time. Basically, people gamble to get rich quickly. But in the initial days, they overlook the risks associated with gambling and make silly mistakes. So yes, peer pressure does act as a catalyst, and hence people start gambling to get ahead of their peers.
Such a sad mindset that just because someone was successful, you want to replicate that success in that instant as if they are the saame as you. Not even asking how they do it. I don't think that people gamble because they see others make money in it as a primary reason, maybe they just want to gamble or not get bored and to do something with their time, there's not a lot of people who go to a casino to make money, most of them just want to have fun or I could be wrong and that it's the opposite and that people are easily influenced by what they see and giving in to their envious nature.

Peer pressure is a catalyst but not a substantial imo, saying it's substantial means that people gambling always have this as a factor to their reason why they gamble and thinking so means you underestimate people that they all give in to peer pressure.
590  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Is cryptos-miner.co a scam? on: August 08, 2023, 05:15:01 AM
Here's some counters to their claims so they look legitimate.
  • If you're determined enough, you can cheat your way to make your Trustpilot profile legitimate, and they got a low score in Scam Adviser which means you're going to have to doubt their credibility then and there because there's mix in opinions regarding their trustworthiness.
  • The fact that they want you to pay some amount just to withdraw your own money is already a sign that it's a scam, no such thing as that can happen unless it's transaction fees and most of the time the tx fees aren't supposed to be high or the site doesn't ask for it themselves.
  • Their explanation of how they make their money is obscure, what mining machines? There should be some techie explanation on how they generate profits from your payments to them.

I don’t know much about bitcoin mining machine.
It's a broad term, it could mean anything from ASIC miners or your computers, and they use that obscurity so you will think they're legitimate. And you shouldn't have got to it if you have zero knowledge in the first place.
591  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING]Fake Token Sale Running For Arkham Token [Don't Connect Wallet] on: August 07, 2023, 09:54:50 AM
Telegram is heaven for scammers, scammers have been promoting various scams using Telegram for a long time. Arkham is still trending in the crypto market so there is a lot of potential for scammers to successfully scam crypto users. Arkham is currently trading on all big exchanges so there is no point for traders to buy from the fake website provided in this telegram group. Crypto users should stay away from such scams and expose them when they find them so that other crypto users can be safe from these scammers. Keep up the good work OP.
Thank God, I only use Telegram for the SuperNotifier, I don't know if there's hope that Telegram will be able to purge their application of scammers and other malicious entities because it's been a paradise for these malicious entities for a long time and I think it should be time for them to start cleaning house but so far, nothing has changed. Only problem with these tip you got is the people that will read it, the scammers would probably find a way to make sure that unwitting newbies would buy in their channel like saying that it's cheaper to buy to them or that they are giving exclusive X token privileges if they buy there.

Nice catch OP, your battle against the endless horde of scammers is appreciated by many.
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Idea to receive 10x-1000x coins the coin project on: August 07, 2023, 06:33:26 AM
This one has nothing to do with ponzi scheme.
Do you Understood what's the plan ? I'll explain again then 10x-1000x coins means i'll buy the coins what's cheap on presale stage on bulk and distribute to subcribers.
I collect funds from the monthly subcription fees and then using that funds to buy large basket of cheap coins what's on sale on presale.
Can you create an illustration on the trickle model of your coin project, I want to see if it really is a Ponzi scheme and I'm sure that others would want to see it too. From what I understand, you're trying to collect money so you can buy cheap pre-sale tokens? If that's what that is then I don't think you will find anyone that will be interested in your project here because you're taking the money without the guarantee that those pre-sale tokens will increase in value.
593  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Thoughts on a Bitcoin smart wallet? on: August 07, 2023, 03:43:33 AM
It's a nice concept but the only problem with that is you're tracking how they spend their bitcoins which is a breach of privacy since that's a user data now I don't know much about technical stuff but if you have a way to encrypt that data in a way that it's not going to make sense even if the data has been leaked then probably you have a chance for the people here to like that idea. Even that thing that I'm saying is a breach of privacy with just the addition of data obscurity. If I'm being honest, when things like these are being developed, I always ask myself if the previous iteration has a critical flaw that needs to be addressed but if there's nothing then I tend to not like the upgrade since most of the time it's just an additional feature which just makes things more complicated.
594  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian ruble is scam on: August 07, 2023, 01:42:31 AM
Financial problems that occur with Ruble also occur a lot with other countries, but I'm sure that the Russian government will do everything to be able to make Rubles normal again, and we who hold Rubles don't worry because everything will get better soon.
Not really, other countries don't start invading neighboring countries and face sanctions that destroy their economy. Yes, they will do everything in their power but I am sure that most Russians will have to suffer from the currency devaluing. Regarding getting better, if the war continues, I don't think that being better is going to come to the citizens soon. Putin wants to absorb Ukraine so I am sure that he will do everything to do that including facing another default.
595  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 06, 2023, 03:59:15 PM
~
In my opinion, the point you made is quite reasonable because contributions to the economy do not only occur for those who have jobs, but those who do not have permanent jobs also always make a contribution to the economy. This means that as long as everyone always needs food when hungry and has to buy food to keep himself alive.
Well yes, you've just expounded on the point that I've said about consumption being a contribution of the unemployed population and you've just stated what I've said already said but in a different set of words and sentences.
~
It will still have something to do with the economy because the circulation of money that is used by everyone when buying something will make it the wheels of the economy so that everyone who is still alive in this world actually always contributes to the economy, except for those who no longer need food. So even this contribution does not only take place for those who have a permanent job, but those who do not have a permanent job also make a contribution in this kind of thing.
Again, you've recycled what I've said and you keep repeating the same thing. And also, those who don't need food still contribute to the economy, they might still be using services like hospitals or buying medicines and if they die of starvation, they are giving works to coroner, embalmer and the whole funeral industry which all of them get some form of compensation or salary when they do work and they in turn contribute in the economy.
596  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 06, 2023, 02:07:16 PM
~

Actually good point, because if the family can't manage to support their children's education most likely they would go to public schools which is supported by government which is normal because it's their citizen's taxes to use as fund. But imagine this case if one family had like 5 children and they can't manage to support them so those 6 slots are already taken so for those other family they can't enroll their child into public schools due to limited slot only. I think this could be the fault of the both, which is the government and the parents. Maybe if there's no corrupted government there wouldn't be a problem in slots in any public schools while for the parents, they lack family planning that causes them to have problems in their financial. Just imagine of supporting a child starting from as a toddler their needs until they grow up.
More fault to the government to be honest with you, look at the educated population and see how many kids they have, pretty sure that they're on the low end compare that to the uneducated or poorly educated population. If the government were to pursue creating a quality education for all and their help doesn't end at the school, I'm sure that we would see a population that's smarter and knows the consequences of having a children. Or if they already have the quality education, the government should also pursue improving reproductive health policies, this one if improved to the highest level will be the biggest move against overpopulation. It's not "if" when it comes to no corrupt government, whatever you think will happen when there's no corrupt government is guaranteed to happen. The last part, a lot of Scandinavian countries already do that.
597  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 06, 2023, 11:37:32 AM
~

Well that depends on them and if those children will grow up and actually work. Believe it or not there are number of individuals from poor family who are not working and are depending on the help being provided by their government. Hence, instead of helping the country they are adding to the cost. So in a way they can be a problem.
That's not the point I'm making although your concern is valid. But I don't think that they wouldn't contribute to the economy if they don't work, if they still buy goods and services, they will still be participating in the economic circulation since them buying those stuff regardless of where they get their money from is still going to have taxes which is a big part of the economy and for the markets, more people consuming is always a good thing for the market and a good market will be an indication of a good economy if not growing.
598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype? on: August 06, 2023, 06:19:22 AM
Considering that AI is on its infancy and already created this much hype, usually what kills any hype is that nothing improves. This is also not just about crypto, AI is in everything we do and its an important thing and that's a difference. However, even if we just think about crypto terms, we can say that things like DeFi and NFT and all that they just existed, stayed the same, didn't improve much and lost their hype because of that. Now that we are looking at the situation right now, we could say  that AI will keep on improving and being better, and that is why its not just another hype, its going to be something a lot bigger than what it is today because it will improve for sure.
AI isn't a new tech to be considered that it's still in infancy, Deep Blue was introduced back in 1995 although it's considered a system and not an AI per se, it still served as our basis of understanding of how an AI should work so no, AI isn't in it's infancy, the current iterations are just more advanced and more commercially available than the others in the past and there's more applications to it in the present compared to in the past. It's continuous improvement will be obvious, there's no way for technology to go but up and I think that AI is definitely a game changer for trading especially if it finally shows a consistent results that can be proven by many people.
599  Economy / Services / Re: [HIRING ]German Crypto Startup looking for backend developer on: August 06, 2023, 04:01:15 AM
Are the team paid only in tokens? Or that's an incentive besides being paid with cold hard cash or bitcoin? Kind of difficult for you to get an application if they're only getting paid with your crypto which is not viable especially if there's no valuations for your token yet. Also, you need to move this to Services if you are hiring a developer. There should be a salary my guy if you want someone to take this hiring seriously.
600  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 06, 2023, 02:55:25 AM
To the family, I am sure that having a lot of children is going to be a problem especially if they all started schooling which can be pretty expensive even if you all enroll those kids in public schools, don't forget that with more mouths to feed then the less likely that you will be able to set aside some money for savings. If in terms of economy, I think it's only a problem for short-term since they are going to be an addition to the workforce of the country, with more people means that more labor force that is if we set aside the issue of brain drain for the sake of this hypothetical stuff.
