81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 17, 2023, 06:25:05 AM
Can you give us an example of a problem that you're talking about what you're describing is a broad term and it's impossible not to be confused but for the sake of answering from what I understand, I would say that I don't think that I've had any problems with gambling before that are recurring, I've been taught discipline at a young age so I do know how to control myself when it comes to guilty pleasures.

Gambling is an activity to have fun and pass time for the thrill of it. The very notion that you want to gamble for income or important amounts that could damage your savings and affect your wellbeing is a problematic behavior in and of itself. So the first step is to limit that. And if you go bust, only come bach after your next payday. Risking only a small amount of your stable income that you can set aside after expenses.
Sometimes people forget about this stuff and so they end up gambling for a different purpose which resulted in them encountering problems that could've been avoided if it wasn't for them not losing the purpose of their gambling habits. It's a cascading effect, once you've let go of that notion that gambling is just done for fun then it's all downhill then and there.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 16, 2023, 04:27:42 PM
To be honest with you and everyone else here in the thread, reading the Terms and Conditions for a plebe like me is a waste of time so I don't read them and they're boring to read anyway since they're designed to be that way. I'm sure there's really not a lot of stuff there that would make sense to me anyway, that's my justification as to why I don't read them, maybe it's stupid of me to do that but I don't really mind if I suddenly get banned because I did something. Also, the casinos that I'm registered is where my friends play so I don't have to worry about anything, just do what my friends have been doing and I would be just fine.
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need for mental section or public orientation for new gamblers. on: December 15, 2023, 03:15:09 PM
We can just talk about it here in the Gambling Discussion and there's also the Off-Topic section so it's not really that important that we add another section, it's not like this is the go to website if you want to vent out something or seek some help in your mental health concerns. I don't think that there's a need for that kind of section. Just look at other unused boards out in the forum already, too saturated already of unused boards.

Regarding orientation for new gamblers, I don't think this is the right place for that one and I don't think we're going to even need one because people are already talking about learning about different gambling games here already, sometimes you just got to ask.
84  Economy / Services / Re: This method of earning allows you to earn $1000 a day or more on: December 15, 2023, 02:15:31 PM
My brother in Christ, at least try to make it difficult for the people that you want to scam to know that you're going to scam them, I'm sure that you're going to find more success if you put in some effort in your scams. Best of luck  Wink

In all seriousness though, there has to be some way where scammers are quickly banned in the forum so they don't flood the discussion boards with their scams and at the same time help newbies not to become a victim of these scammers that's trying to get into their pockets, has IP ban ever been considered regarding these type of stuff?
85  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi | Project status & Refund Plan! on: December 14, 2023, 11:27:48 PM
~

They already stated on their previous post that only few left that still doesn’t receive their funds before they close. The large volume of fake claims is very easy to address since they have all the original information of their players including email.

The email itself is sufficient to claim the refund without the need of KYC unless they imposed KYC to all their user before then KYC really matters at all. They should have at least process the first batch if they are really serious about this refund process.
Well, I'm just weighing in on opinions about the possible reason as to why they're still not being responsive about the emails, I mean there's a lot of reason why someone can't respond to emails quickly right? And there's also the possibility that they don't have the money yet for the other refund money, didn't their partners run away with some of the money right?
86  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betnomi | Project status & Refund Plan! on: December 14, 2023, 04:29:30 PM

2 weeks went by, no response via email, none whatsoever.

I don't know if this is true but given the volume of people that's requesting a refund and are angry at Betnomi, I think that you shouldn't base your belief in Betnomi by their response time to their emails because they're getting a lot of hatemails already and it's an instinct for them to ignore it and basically your email is probably drowned in spam and hatemails from other players. Maybe you can hope that you'll be able to get some response from them now that you've exposed yourself.

Yeah right, and then "many duplicate claims" happen? As if all the Betnomi customers have friends and family members who are trying to cheat on them?
Sounds very unrealistic.
Betnomi is currently pursuing the people that have stolen what's rightfully their's in the form of codes and systems. Cheating using your parent's name is kind of a crazy stuff, only way to absolve these duplicates is either deal with it or let it ran way.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: December 14, 2023, 03:44:03 PM
There are some old people in my family which are paying cricket fantasy games. They usually talk about the games and their performance is matches almost daily. It is obvious that if any younger guy in family will listen about this, he will also be eager to know more about this. How can I stop the younger generation in my family being carried away by this and focus on other important things like studies only ?
Your only move here is to give them warning that gambling isn't for them to explore yet and that it's not a fun thing to be a part of it at a young age, as others have pointed out already, let them fuck around and find out, let them learn the lesson themselves, you've guided and warned them already, there's nothing that you can do from then and there. Or if you're the assertive kind, you can always just tell those uncles to stop talking about fantasy games when there's a function in the household and that kids are nearby.

I don't think there is much we can do to help our young generations. Environmental factor is playing a vital role in your situation. We cannot just make it not exists. If old people are doing something that may cause young people to get involved in gambling then we can try to tell the old peoples. But I  doubts that will make them understand you. The generation gap is here very big and trying to help the children won't do any better. If the elders aren't listening then why would the young would.
That's not the mindset, there's a lot of stuff that you can do that can influence the younger generation and not all of them have the same approach so it looks as if there's not a lot that we can do, when it comes to gambling it just so happens that guidance and prohibition is the only thing that you can do with too much prohibition being such a bad idea because kids will just try it anyway. Even if the gap is just too big, they're functioning adults already so they have enough brain capacity to read the room regarding this kind of stuff and wisdom doesn't come with old age so even if they're old, that don't automatically make them correct.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 14, 2023, 03:16:22 PM
I don't think I'm speaking for everyone here but if you have a family or you're going to be celebrating holidays with your loved ones then the answer to this is probably obvious which is spending less on gambling if not altogether spending zero cents to gambling so you can make the most out of the celebration with your family. I don't think I even have time to spend with gambling during this time because everyone's going to be busy and I'm one of them at least in my family since I'll sponsor the money that's going to be spent for the gifts and other decorative stuff so yeah, no money or less money for me to spend for gambling.

This period of the year  calls for proper planning because there's a lot of expenses already  piled up and waiting to be taken  care of. For me, all my excess funds must be put to proper budgeting bearing in mind that January is just around the corner and from my previous experience, that month its a nightmare if not properly planned for. House rents are renewed, school fees are paid, a lot of spending are made so one got to be very more than careful how funds are used this period. In my own plan, I cut down my gambling budget from 7% to 3% to minimize funds wastage this period and accommodate all necessities. We continue normal mode next year February.
I agree, proper planning for spending this holiday season and you will not bleed dry financially when the New Year comes and given that it's a shopping spree most of the time, gambling will definitely take the least priority in terms of funding and if someone even tries to squeeze it in, they're definitely going to have some problems with their holiday funds unless they're the Grinch and they don't like having some fun at celebrating Christmas or New Year's Eve.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 14, 2023, 01:39:54 PM
Not really, shortening your playtime will make you get bored so easily and you will always feel like you are missing out in the fun a lot of times when you do that, maybe if you're disciplined and you don't do strategies when you're gambling, you will probably be able to do just that but you strategize in your plays then you're probably going to feel something wrong about your gambling habit, it's like you're not doing enough which makes you frequent more sessions.

To me, the best way isn't to shorten the time but to make sure that when you're gambling, you're not overdoing it and that you always enjoy what you're doing, that's the way to do it and if you feel like you're not getting that at your current gambling session then you need to stop gambling all at once for that session and then do a reset the next day or the day after.
90  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can you recommend a web wallet other than blockchain.info? No KYC on: December 13, 2023, 04:01:17 PM
~

Well, they claim to be noncustodial. We have no way to check whether that's true or not. I do occasionally have some issues with the wallet but nothing major. I wouldn't recommend it for storing any large amount though.
Going to put that in consideration, I need to find a wallet to store my bitcoin as soon as possible so I don't have to wait for Binance to shut down here in my country, maybe I can go back to using Binance if using a VPN is a possibility, I don't like using wallets to move my bitcoin because of tx fees. No worries about large amounts of bitcoin, if I had any, I wouldn't be storing it anywhere Smiley.
91  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can you recommend a web wallet other than blockchain.info? No KYC on: December 13, 2023, 03:18:15 PM
OP, heed the advice of the more experienced members of the forum, be careful about using web wallets, you're better off storing it in exchanges if you're going to go there, haven't you heard already about the scams that involves these web wallets? You better check them out first and decide for yourself if it's still a good idea to store your bitcoins in a web wallet.

As mentioned above, web wallets are probably something you should stay away from but if you want something in your browser, then any extension should do. There are plenty of them: Trustwallet, SafePal, etc. all have browser extensions and support BTC.
TrustWallet seems to be a go to wallet recommendation, is it really good? I've heard that it's a non-custodial one and I want to check it out if it's available on the phone, really helpful stuff if I can store my bitcoins somewhere safe so I'm not different from others here in the forum.
92  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where the mixers will promote their projects? on: December 13, 2023, 02:45:27 PM
There are still a lot of website out there that will accept to run ads for any mixers that hire them, there are also some android app that display ads, mixers could take their promotion there too. Since Google didn't ban mixer, they could still permit their ads to pup out on YouTube depending if any mixers takes their advertising there, same could be applicable to Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn and more other social media out there. This forum is not the only place mixers could get advertise, they definitely will look for another means to still market their service.
That's what I think so too, it's not like just because the forum doesn't allow it anymore doesn't mean that other websites won't advertise them too, they might still be able to squeeze in their services somewhere and Google ads probably won't mind them being advertised but now that they're not here in the forum, I'm sure that more people are going to fall for scammers that will pose as legitimate crypto mixers unless there's a way that we can still list them here which is unlikely to happen. Other social media platforms won't be a big help for the mixers though as those are also populated by scammers, yes they will find other places to advertise but now it's going to be more difficult for them and for the people that want to use mixers.
93  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Real world side gigs for sats. on: December 13, 2023, 01:59:50 PM
How would that be sustainable though? Cutting nearly a third of your usual price for services like console repair is quite a big discount. Unless the price of your service is overpriced at normal times, it probably won't last that long even if you bet on Bitcoin price making a new ATH sooner or later. I also discourage people from selling their skills for highly discounted prices since it can affect the market as a whole, which might affect your earnings in the future. CMIIW.
I think it will be sustainable but I think a lower discount would do much better because it's going to encourage your clients to pay you in bitcoin since there's a discount, that's actually a smart way to insure that OP will get more people to pay him in satoshis compared to just saying that they can pay in bitcoin, and it's not like you're losing too much in that discount because you're hodling for long anyway and they might be regretting paying you in bitcoin when the price starts pumping again. I do agree with you that we shouldn't sell our skills for a discounted price but that doesn't mean that we have to not do any discounts, if it would guarantee me that I wiuld get paid in bitcoin, I would probably just do the discount anyway, the point is accumulation after all and this is just a side gig so I think that it's not a bad idea to be doing discounts.
94  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance alternatives on: December 13, 2023, 12:44:05 PM
You can move your Bitcoins to a private wallet as mentioned by several other members. You can also move your funds to exchanges such as KuCoin, Bybit, MEXC or others.

But it's best to keep your Bitcoins in a private wallet and only send them to an exchange if you want to trade them.

You can buy a hardware wallet to store Bitcoin and other altcoins. It will be safer and more comfortable for you because you won't worry about anything.
Of all that have replied to this thread, you're the only one that did offer alternatives thanks for that and to answer your opinions on how I store my crypto, it's none of your business plus I've said it already that I don't care too much about my bitcoin losing, I've said it on other threads long ago, I don't like to be tied down too much managing my bitcoin stash so I do this stuff but I guess I'll change my ways slowly if that bitcoin becomes helpful to me especially if I plan to have a family in the future. Hardware wallets are a strong consideration to me too but I like the convenience of being stored in exchanges so I can quickly sell off parts of my investments.
95  Economy / Exchanges / Binance alternatives on: December 12, 2023, 05:17:43 PM
If you're not yet familiar with the situation, Binance only have 90 days to operate in my country (the Philippines) and given that I've stored my hoard of bitcoin there for a long time already, I'm a bit panicky as to where I should store it (ironic that I'm like that when I'm a staunch believer that I don't care if I lose my bitcoins) so my question is, what alternative wallet or exchanges I can store my bitcoins, wallets would be appreciated and some of my irl crypto friends already recommended me two wallets and an exchange and hopefully they're going to be the same as your recommendations so I can finalize my decision.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logic of some gamblers against math on: December 12, 2023, 04:44:59 PM
The reason for the belief that their luck isn't running out is because the brain is overjoyed and the fleshy circuits right now is going haywire on happiness and so the person can't think straight on what to do next, even if they are the most logical ones out there, when they win, they're definitely going to go over their plan and keep on playing, your brain craves dopamine and so you want to chase that hit from that win and so you end up playing hoping to get that win again. That's how gambling addicts started, they win big and then the next day they're chasing that high they get from winning.

You are supposed to keep playing on the heater until you meet a cold section. Most of us especially me, sometimes on the heater not only keep playing but raise the bet by maybe 20-50%. In the heater, you can turn on for 2-4 weeks lose back to even with just a single section. One things people should aware, just need to set up a limit win and stop while you got cold section (streak/multiple lose) after your heater.
That's how it's supposed to be played but the problem with that is that it's just a phenomenon that many lead to believe to be true and so we end up having to think that this is true, that there's such a thing as cold section. For me, this heater that you're calling is just the same as a gambler's fallacy but the only difference is that it's a matter of winning until you hit a lose unlike the fallacy. Non-statistic strategies are not the best kind of strategy to me because when this kind of stuff is put into practice, it's overwhelming underperforming and it's not consistent compare that to those that have a math in their approach, it's totally different and you're wins and profit will go up when you subscribe to that, even if you set up a win so you'll know when to stop it's not that effective.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one you are good at? on: December 12, 2023, 03:55:22 PM
With my penchant for losing because I always go for the higher odds in betting, I'm definitely saying I'm good at managing my bankroll and so far, I am not that bad when it comes to profit or loss because I win some of those bets so the losses I've incurred overtime are sometimes offset by a huge amount if I win the high odds low chance of winning bets, I'd say that the gap in my losses and profit isn't that wide because even after I spend a lot to celebrate the win, I can still have enough to refill my gambling funds for the next betting sessions and such. Maybe I should try not to be greedy next time and just go for the safest bet or rather just do an arbitrage betting.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are slots hard to understand on purpose? on: December 11, 2023, 01:48:58 PM
What do you mean by that? If you're talking about the gameplay I don't think it's that hard to understand because there are guides on what's the winning combinations and the tutorials for the slots aren't that complicated but if you're talking about the internal mechanisms of slots then yes, that's how they should be designed so an average Joe doesn't have the ability to just understand how the mechanism works and exploit it, same with the online slots, they obfuscate the code so you don't have any idea how it works and I think that it's a beautiful thing that slots are like this in terms of mechanisms because that means there's passion and care put into creating them atleast for the physical ones.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 11, 2023, 11:58:13 AM
~
most important thing is that it all depends on our own mindset and I often say this in almost several threads that mindset very important for me because even though I keep myself busy with other activities that dont cause excessive dopamine such as hanging out in comfortable place, I dont need to spend a lot of money just being with people we love or other friend can divert our minds from excessive pleasure so as not to trigger an increase in dopamine.
You're right, we don't need to spend a lot when we're trying to have fun, it's a matter of mindset and how you perceive how having fun works because the perception of having fun is a different per person. Also, it's worth nothing that if you're feeling sad or depressed even when you're hanging out with your friends then a professional help or psychiatric intervention should be imminent.
~
diverting the mind by working on the side also seems to be good, but remember that if a gambler works all day and then works again at night, it will be very dangerous for depression to increase in the mind, so if you work from morning to evening, look for other activities that dont burden your mind too much but can forget about gambling.
That's why I said in my first reply to your first statement that an intervention that involves mental health professionals are a must because if that's not happening, depression will only get worse. There's a lot of stuff that you can do that's cheap and doesn't stress you out too much, you can always try board games or computer games right?
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 11, 2023, 10:33:36 AM
Definitely a fool, if he already went to a gaming commission to have his name blacklisted or banned then shouldn't his gambling habits have stopped because he was banned or flagged whatever? But as the story goes on, this person can still get into these casinos and still play but only get a 200 USD win, man can still waste money and not be able to bring back a profit because he can't win big which is stupid, if you're not stopping from gambling even after you did those crazy request from the gaming commission then nothing changed because the money spent is still there and he's still gambling.
