1241  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Ripple dead? on: September 04, 2013, 01:12:42 PM
sold 1m xrp already, still keeping a small amount. price will drop slowly
ripple value will only rise when source is released or there is a new big giveaway.

Why giving away will let the price rise up? I saw many people see this, but I can't understand.

That is because it doesnt make any sense.  Smiley

1243  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it true that btc is a "deflationary currency"? on: September 04, 2013, 03:08:50 AM
I think the thing that no one realizes is that there is not a limit to the production of bitcoin. Bitcoin is just numbers how many numbers are there? It is like saying that the dollar cant be inflated because they are only minting quarters. If litecoin can be trade in and out of bitcoin at will then truthfully there is no difference at least no greater of a difference between litcoin and bitcoin than between quarters and dollars. Bitcoin and all the alt coins that can be freely traded make up the digital currency market.

So no digital currency is not deflationary.
1244  Economy / Currency exchange / Bitcoins sellers insurance pool. Suggestions? thoughts ? on: September 04, 2013, 02:51:24 AM
I want to start a fund for traders to pay into to insure their btc trades. Everyone has been burned lots of us have seen trades that we would like to make but cant risk it, I would like to propose that we set up a pool for insuring our sketch ass bitcoin trades. It would take a little work and would have to iron out a lot of details, but it could be done right.

Some issues that come to mind for me is requirements for sellers, obviously only members with an established trade history would be allowed to participate, need a payout review system/method, need to figure out how to hold the funds and how claims would be distributed.

I know there are security concerns and what not.

Let me know what you think? How it could be set up? would you would like to participate?

1248  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: September 04, 2013, 12:54:53 AM
It would be great if the trust rating of the person posting was displayed next to their thread post. So i dont have to click on the thread to see that it was posted by a scammer. That would be donation worthy to me  Smiley

It is visible where it's needed the most —  in the Marketplace board and its child boards and in the Trading discussion board and its child boards.

Someones character should always be important.

I want to see it in the "started by" and "most recent post" columns. That way I know if a scammer started the thread or if a scammer replied to it..

Really every time someones name appears so should their trust rating.
1249  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: One simple tip to avoid being scammed when buying BTC. on: September 03, 2013, 09:44:03 PM
Great advice. If someone says they dont want you to see how many coins are in their wallet ask them to send to a blockchain wallet. I would often insist on doing a micro transaction, what you want to know is does this person have any coins at all. Start with a 10 dollar trade. If they insist on larger amount odds are near 100 percent that its a scammer.

I wasn't to happy when i found out about default trust especially when I found out trade fortress had default trust.

"Man you guys are f@#$%d... I didnt realize what was meant by default trust.... f!@# you I dont trust any off you insiders. Especially TradeFortress there are numerous scammer threads about him... He is a lender! I dont trust lenders of coin!  I trust who I trust not who you think I should trust. Shit is bullshit."

1252  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: |WTB| Bitcoins for MoneyPaks on: September 03, 2013, 06:37:26 PM
I never knew what her game was, but it always seemed very odd to buy 76k in btc with money pak. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Who knows she may have just sold some second hand MP cards, but I bet she always planed on cutting and running or maybe she realized that BTC wasn't the best investment after all. At any rate it looks clear she is not going to be able or willing to cover the loses. Sorry guys. It is more about who you are dealing with than anything, you have to consider the source. I would recommend only dealing with people who have a proven track record of doing what they say and only doing small transactions with people who don't. Anonymity is bullshit!! Crooks and criminals are the only people who require secrecy (with rare exceptions) If someone wants to buy from you get their Fing name! that way if they screw you they wont get others and they will only get you once!

There is no perfect payment system.
