3241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will be used to pay employees? on: June 12, 2013, 07:00:43 PM
I remember there was one company that attempted this and they eventually had to discontinue due to the extreme volatility of bitcoin. Now that bitcoin is slowly becoming more stable it may be possible in the near future.

I'm quite sure that coinbase pays its employees in BTC currently.
3242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Mac Pro for mining? on: June 12, 2013, 06:00:40 PM
Strongly doubt it will be worthwhile for mining given the pricetag there are better options. GPU mining at this point just seems pretty pointless/unprofitable.
3243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [FREE ENTRY] 3 BTC Raffle! on: June 12, 2013, 08:41:22 AM
19 days to june 30th so no use to join anymore, good luck all

I'm going to accept entries until 48 hours before the drawing. I'm thinking about weighing it so if you entered early you have a higher chance, only will do this if tons of people enter the hours before close.

I would suggest against a weighted drawing, I think for fairness it's better to simply say changing the 20 day rule.
That may get some complaints from some people but I think weighting will result in more complaints and gripes.

Yeah I suppose it would add too much confusion and be more trouble than it's worth. Thanks for your input  Smiley

Piuk,

I've been using this wallet since I first discovered bitcoin and just wanted to take a quick moment to thank you for working tirelessly to deliver such a wonderful experience to your users. If I was limited to the bitcoin-Qt wallet, I certainly wouldn't be able to do many of the things I do on a daily basis with as much ease. You've very positively shaped the direction of bitcoin and you have my respect for that.

The run bad streaks are just too horrid on here. I really don't know why. Literally when you're actually betting you'll get streaks of 4 or more losses of over 50.5 every couple times. Win streaks VERY rarely 3 or more in a row. Over 1000+ bets of 50.5 or more my win/loss rate is .75...I just cannot take this data to be correct or fair.

From a purely mathematical point of view, over time your stats should balance out towards the expected result.  Message me your user ID on primedice if you see this, I'm curious to see your overall results. I do feel you are being a bit superstitious but it was our pleasure to have you and you have my best regards.
3248  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin - The Movie on: June 11, 2013, 06:45:10 PM
Title: "The ASIC project"
here is my small script idea:

First, Some abreviations

GB= Global bank = the ultimate bank on earth
NG= National Goverment (elected by forcing peoples mind)
chip=small electronic device used for Bitcoin mining
BAM=Bitcoin Auto Miner based on cheap components affortable for public.

Earth 2015
Gloabal Bank has all the necessary hardware to do worldwide mining with huge profits.
To achive this, hundreds of "accidents" happened with the most important, the "suiside" of the CEO Dr Manix who invent the chip for the BAM
His lab burned from fire. All the notes from his designs are totaly destroyd (all of them?)  Wink
Before he died, he gave to his son (Dave) a small usb flash memory with ALL the info's about the project.
His father's girlfriend Monica, (secret agent hired from NG) try to find him son and get the flash.

National goverment forced by global bank ( ) gives away millions of $ to find any informations about the Dave's team
(hackers from his College) who try to protect him.
Mike (one of them) has a father named John (former agent joint US special forces) who realised what happened and try to help him..........

Hope that helps a little
Big story with continue action and suspense

Very impressed with this story, can definitely see us incorporating some aspects of this. The video is only going to be 5 minutes long or so most likely so we'd have to keep it very focused. Thanks, will credit you if we end up using any of your ideas.  Smiley

Loving all the answers, having a really hard time narrowing them down to a few people.

Will give away the bitcoin in 4 days (June 15th)

Ohh I'm still on the leaderboard. Someone beat me :p

Smiley We're toying around with a few features that will improve leaderboard and make you stand out from normal bettors when using the site. Still haven't 100% decided what people will be able to exchange their prime points on. Will update you all when we've figured that out.
3252  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 on: June 11, 2013, 03:49:37 AM
Very lovely car, never seen one out in the wild. Definitely the coolest thing I've seen for sale in the bitcoin community. Best of luck to you with the sale.

Best of luck in your search for one, buying a luxury car is certainly an exciting journey!

If you can't find someone through here I suggest taking a look at ebay, there are quite a few within your price range:

Sounds interesting, you won't really get much serious attention though if you aren't saying what the URL is in your opening post.

I have a gaming pc but now that I don't play many video games I now use this laptop as my primary computer, it is surprisingly powerful for something so small. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a light laptop, good luck to bidders.
3256  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin - The Movie on: June 11, 2013, 03:30:23 AM
the journalists mom is actually satoshi... endless possibilities

Yeah, we were certainly thinking of some sort of plot which incorporates Satoshi, not sure if we'd want to someone to play his role though. If I can think of a general plot I'd be able to get this moving quickly.
3257  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting on: June 11, 2013, 03:24:44 AM
Ah, couldn't resist gambling anymore, +0.05, yay! Rolls seems to sometimes be taking a while for me again though, sometimes ~5 seconds.

Yeah, we're still working on a permanent fix to keep roll speeds consistent, it is a bit more complicated than we anticipated. On my end they are only taking a second at the moment.
3258  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Unknown miner growing rapidly in mining % share on: June 10, 2013, 06:29:50 PM
If the government was interested in destroying bitcoins they wouldn't be mining them or attempting a 51% attack. They'd simply send bitcoins underground and block all transactions to coinbase/mtgox etc.

I am curious to see who this is though.
3259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [FREE ENTRY] 3 BTC Raffle! on: June 10, 2013, 06:27:08 PM
I have to remove myself from this due to a misunderstanding on my part.  Sorry for any confusion it may have caused.

No problem, if you have any questions let me know. The terms of this are really loose, so I can make exceptions here and there if people message me.
