Something like Bter would be nice to get on...
1082  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC-e withdrawal issues? on: February 12, 2014, 05:11:52 PM
You can perfectly withdraw right now.

A whole bunch got stuck on 10-11 feb. Not just BTC-e but Stamp and many other exchanges as well.  BTC-e tweeted a little while ago that these will be resent 13/02 aka tomorrow.

Well we went #1 on coinwarz again, same story as usual. Expect the diff to be 30+ in 10 mins.

If we do have a fork, pretty much everyone I can find (xhash, block explorer, coinwarz) are all on the low diff fork. I've not yet found one where it's much higher.

BTC-e just tweeted BTC in limbo will be resent 13.02 (tomorrow)
1086  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC-e withdrawal issues? on: February 12, 2014, 03:02:33 PM
Still nothing.

Tweets are only posted in russian.. Google translator:

"Until the end of February will be temporarily unavailable output in Privat"

Wth is this supposed to mean? We wont get our BTC until the end of february!?

The BTC-e tweet only concerns fiat withdrawals into a specific bank in Ukraine called Privatbank. It doesn't concern any English speaking person so it makes sense to keep it in Russian.

Wow, current profit rate is 12,000%

Not possible, Atlantis just said these coins don't even pay for electricity  Huh

How did anybody think the price was not going down? Way, way too many premined coins were sold for very cheap. You think people won't sell at 10x their buy-in? On that exchange there's not enough BTC to buy through the dumpers. Of course another issue right now is that many potential buyers can't transfer their BTC from one exchange to the other.

I think the coin can survive and recover, but this was predictable. With all the crashes going on people get edgy and want to materialize some of that profit.

The price is going down, and for good reason: anyone keeping their BTC on an exchange can't get it out!
I want to transfer in some BTC to buy at 1/3rd my last selling price but I can't...argh.

But why is LTC falling as well??? It΄s a BTC problem. Should be the time for the altcoins.

Altcoins always go down compared to BTC when BTC is going down. Possibly people liquidating to go into fiat through BTC.

Still on xhash with 5 MH, doing well.

BTC-e Tweet: "Due DDOS on Bitcoin network there is a delay possible with crediting of transactions madden between 10-11 February. Be patient please"

Bitstamp has the same problem. Bter has the same problem. At this point just wait.
1093  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC-e withdrawal issues? on: February 11, 2014, 07:57:42 PM
Right now just about every exchange isn't processing withdrawals or deposits correctly. Wait for the storm to pass.

but what if the withdrawal did process, and it's nowhere to be found? my case.

Very simple, once it hits the blockchain btc-e has nothing to do with it anymore. It's the problem of whoever owns the address you sent coins to.
Like I said, pretty much every exchange is knee deep in **** right now with their wallets. Nothing is working. Nothing else we can do right now.

1095  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitstamp btc withdrawal problem on: February 11, 2014, 06:50:28 PM
Question:
Why is it that until yesterday no one's transactions were affected by Tx Malleability DDOS attacks, but once MtGox declares it to be their issue, all the sudden everyone else is hit by the same attack? Is it copycat hackers at work?

Maybe it gave some people an idea, or it gave people the right opportunity to use the exchange-rate tanking weapon they had been sitting on for a while.

There is still a large difference, the systems at Gox misuse TXIDs, other exchanges now are unable to process withdrawals because the stream of crap is creating a situation their systems aren't designed to deal with. It's a lot like comparing a server error to a ddos. The first one is a server issue, the second one needs to be mitigated.
1096  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2014, 06:41:42 PM
seriously. among the top reasons given again and again on this forum for why bitcoin might tank (forever) is exploit in software code. so. we are back to pre - bug news level in  less than a half hour. wtf?

Well obviously harmless exploits aren't going to drive the price to 1$. No-one is losing their funds with this one (unless you left them on a retarded exchange like Gox obviously)
1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2014, 06:27:13 PM
You mad, MtGox haters? It's Bitcoin that is shit. Gavin Andresen and Jeff Garzik have been exposed as Bitcoin marketeers "There is absolutely no problem here guys".

Technically they were right. The problems at the exchanges now are slightly different from Gox, it's an internal bookkeeping issue now, which can and will be fixed promptly by the proper exchanges while Gox remains closed indefinitely.
1098  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC-e withdrawal issues? on: February 11, 2014, 06:24:18 PM
Looks like every exchange is in the same boat right now, they'll have to apply some software patches so that their systems can see through the crap they're being spammed with.
1099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2014, 06:07:58 PM
So, the general position of other exchanges seems to be "our software did not have MtGOX's bug, and now we have removed it".   Grin

This is slightly different, the problem at Gox is that they're using txids for things they were not meant to do.

The problem everyone else has right now is that the same exploit/feature is being used for network wide DOS. It's freaking out systems and preventing transactions but there is no chance of any BTC being stolen out of any exchange that wasn't programmed like Gox.

Great, now the sheep can stop the panic. Oh wait.

I'm not panicking, but I would appreciate getting my withdrawal from nearly a day ago... they were working today anyway, but the ones that got stuck yesterday have not moved and btc-e hasn't commented on it in any language.
