Question, does the value of unexchanged coins get updated? What I mean is, when coins get added to unexchanged they have a certain BTC value at that moment in time, however they might be a lot lower or higher a few hours after while remaining unexchanged. I'm building up a lot of unexchanged and wondering if the value is reported accurately.

It's difficult to extrapolate much real info, because we don't know who was mining on which server, and at which point in the day did some of them switch from eu to us or vice versa. Some people use failover others load-balance. These things make a difference that is not detectible via hashrate alone.
Certainly when I heard EU was switching to straight LTC I would have moved my rigs if I had access to them. I had a terrible payout by staying EU. Other differences appear mostly a case of unexchanged balance being exchanged, or not, which is not an issue over a longer time period anyway.

H2O clearly does not feel like giving much info so all we can do is guess, pretty futile really. If we find a better place to mine we'll leave. For the time being, here we are.

Can someone explain why mt gox has higher price of bitcoin while everyone else are lower?

Didn't they already explain this to you multiple times in this thread? Even though this isn't the thread for that.

It's extremely hard to get verified to use Mt. Gox, so that means it's very hard to get money out of Mt. Gox. The price stays higher than other exchanges because a lot of people have money trapped there.

If I withdraw with bitstamp it means that I've lost like 5 days of mining. That sucks. I really hope it goes back to 915 $.

You lost nothing because the Gox money isn't real. Even if you get verified, and send yourself a bank transfer from their site, it won't come. It hasn't for months.

Today's payout is looking a hell of a lot better than yesterday.  Should come close to doubling yesterday which is great!

How much of that is due to decrease in unexchanged balance? I have half the unexchanged balance I ended with yesterday, which makes my balance look better.

For me, both unexchanged and the main balance have been going up quickly today. Unexchanged is double it was yesterday and my balance has already well surpassed yesterday's payout. EU pool.

I've lost up to 3 days of mining due to recent bitcoin crash. Still waiting to get verified on mt gox. Their customer support are awful, not even answering.

why would you even try to use mt. gox.  you will never get your money out.

Highest bitcoin price, why not? Coinbase is US withdraw only and BTC-E is chinese.

Gox is priced in monopoly money. You can't get real cash out.

BTC-e is Russian by the way. For cashing out Bitstamp is really good. Forget about Gox prices, they are high for a reason (trapped money)
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 07, 2014, 02:18:21 PM
How often do you guys exchange bitcoins to dollar? I've been waiting like 1 month to get verified on mt gox.

No point to use Gox. Even if you manage to get verified you probably won't get money out. The BTC prices are attractive but its a black hole and has been for many months now.

In other news, today looks to be going great on middlecoin. Way more BTC stacking up in my balance and unexchanged than the previous days.

At 1.00V actual GPU voltage, GPU-z and HWinfo report around 150W (input) for my watercooled 290 at 790 kh (911/1250). Looking at GPU temps that's fairly plausible, exactly the same temp as my 7970 did at 98W core +42W memory.

I run 4 7970s per Corsair 850 PSU for months now, I think 4 290s would be easy on a 1000W as long as you run them in efficiency mode like this.

All reference boards have voltage control, if its disabled by BIOS just flash the damn thing.

It seems my googling is not that effective.  I cannot see how to flash these sapphire cards to a different bios.

I think the main problem now is that we are mining ltc on eu server that is not the most profitable coin now and thats why our profits decreased dramatically.

Main problem for me is that we're getting considerably less LTC than we should, at least yesterday not sure yet about today. I'd move instead of whining but I'm away from my rigs for 2 weeks.

Why wouldn't you run VNC or Remote Desktop on your rigs in case you have to control them while away?

Yeah I haven't gotten around to it yet, it's a bit tricky with the dynamic IP and I don't have direct access to the router for port forwarding either, it's a long story but I'm waiting for better internet to become available very soon.

Checkout TeamViewer, works great with a dynamic IP (don't need to set up anything on your router).

Thanks! Will deffo check that out. Bit annoyed now that I didn't look into it earlier. 1 of my 10 GPUs has gone down looking at the hashrates, could've fixed that with something like this (as long as it didn't hang the OS I suppose)

You didn't reach 0.1 BTC yesterday. That's why. Yesterday payouts were extremely low for the EU server, 75% below expected return. I'm a bit worried that no official comment has been made on this topic. My payout yesterday barely covers eletricity. LTC is not that unprofitable so where are the coins?

.01, and how much is your unexchanged balance?

Yeah that, thanks. Unexchanged is around 0.02 currently, there was definitely a buildup of unexchanged yesterday adding to the low pay-out woes but still not to the extent that the total was near the predicted LTC return. Maybe we were just unlucky. Either way I am stuck on this pool for another 10 days while I am on holiday. Fingers crossed.

1355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chances we'll see another Bitcoin crash ( buying opportunity ) 1st quarter 2014? on: January 05, 2014, 08:27:08 AM
I've had my own experience with exchanges, I've read others' experiences and I've seen the exchanges posting notices apologising for delays etc. I believe they are still clearing and processing new accounts and backlogs while taking on the burden of additional KYC responsibilities, all the while with more interest growing daily

Clearly you are not up to date on the extent of the issues at Gox. Withdrawing fiat has been nearly impossible for most people since before summer. You can transfer in BTC but you can't get it out until you get verified and that process appears to be deliberately VERY slow and difficult. I registered at Gox in April during the last boom when they were also overrun with new signups and verification was painless with support tickets being answered within 24h. Now support does not reply to tickets anymore (indefinitely) if they don't like what you are asking (like withdrawals or the verification process)

Does it really make sense to you that newcomers would transfer mountains of fresh currency to the exchange that has prices way above any other? If they would, at least Gox would be able to pay out withdrawals. Evidently that is not the case, either that or Gox is outright scamming. Yet this exchange where it makes no sense to start your BTC investing is the one leading the charge upwards. If you think that's normal, well I feel confident my differing opinion will be validated at some point in the future.

Other big exchanges are doing all right. Stamp is excellent, BTC-e pretty good even if their support is lacking. But prices for whatever reason (habit, perhaps) still follow Gox which is a hole you can't get out of. Any other site would have been considered a scam by now if they did what Gox have been doing for months.
1356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 05, 2014, 08:04:48 AM
So my 7 Mhash on the EU server paid me 0.027 yesterday. WTF...

Normal was around 0.08 to 0.1. Mining straight litecoin should be more profitable than this. What's going on?
1357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chances we'll see another Bitcoin crash ( buying opportunity ) 1st quarter 2014? on: January 04, 2014, 10:17:24 PM
I think in the not too distant future we'll touch 400-500 again. I feel the price increases since the China crash are almost entirely down to the whales on Gox. Since it makes no sense (certainly not for a whale who knows the game) to deposit large sums into an exchange that not only has the highest BTC price but also is just about impossible to get money out of, it must be for the purpose of manipulation. I feel BTC is still in a pumped state, essentially. The bulls will disagree but I just don't see how this can keep up, even if Gox itself doesn't fall over sooner or later. The elephant in the room is the fact that Gox has become a black hole, no longer keeping up their side of the deal. Not sure why this rather huge issue is ignored by the masses. Gox has become a liquidity trapped time bomb really, with BFL-esque customer service.
1358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 04, 2014, 09:38:48 AM
Why mining ltc??? Doge is more profitabele. Or mine grandcoin....but why ltc!

Start loosing my faith in middlecoin.

Yeah this is a bummer, I'm away from my rigs and decided to leave them on middlecoin during my 17-day absence...oh well, hope come monday things will be better.
1359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 02, 2014, 08:43:56 PM
But even if they are not updated for ~2 hours, things are going bad....

On the EU pool, most certainly.... getting much less than mining straight DOGE should deliver. Been slow all day (and my stats do update)

Around 40-50 percent down from yesterday. My graphs show little to no immature or unexchanged coins either.
