Developer please remove link to online wallet on http://getsmartcoin.com/

Yea, how often do we need to point this out? FFS.
1222  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: February 06, 2014, 01:22:24 PM
Btw, you know that the courts of law, make the banks give the money back to people when the money is stolen because of vulnerabilities in their systems right?

Are you new? These things aren't regulated...that's kind of the point. You want the law behind you, go play on the stock market. Don't put any money in crypto you can't afford to lose, and don't whine if a technical issue stops you from making a "would be" profit. Risk of the game and all that.
1223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 06, 2014, 08:37:35 AM
Manipulation or not, both the Gox issue and the potential Bitfinex issue have the potential to severely depress the price. It's a matter of when.
1224  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 06, 2014, 06:52:52 AM
I never had problems getting fiat or BTC out of Gox. 5 days to transfer fiat into my account . 30 min to transfer BTC.  I use EURO and JPY and live in Europe. Gox transfers from Poland. I guess it is only americans hating Gox? This fall to 830 seems good, since the less of a gap between excanges, the better.

I do however not use them anymore since I am holding and have my BTC in cold storage now..

I'm from the EU and cancelled withdrawals from Gox after 6 weeks of nothing (and no clue from support when or what)
1225  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox frequently not matching orders at market price - anyone know why? on: February 05, 2014, 07:21:04 PM
The ticker thing has seemed to be inaccurate with these kind of things, what do the charts at bitcoinwisdom or bitcoinity say? Often the ticker will show a much lower low than any trade that actually went through...no idea why but it was already doing that many months ago before I stopped using them.
1226  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox withdrawal error: "Invalid bitcoin address, please confirm your input" on: February 05, 2014, 07:18:56 PM
Isn't it amazing how all "technical" problems with Gox happen to involve getting some of your money out. Quite the statistical anomaly.

why did difficulty just drop from 11 to 5?

Looks like over half of the hashpower got switched or went offline. I'd love the diff to stay like this for a while  Grin
Odds are though it'll be back soon enough...

Have you wondered that there's the "remote" possibility the devs are in on it

Not really no, because that would be retarded.

Dev already controls a very considerable premine, whatever funds were in the online wallet are peanuts by comparison. Not worth the effort to increase his holdings by 1% and destroy the coin's reputation in the process. The whole purpose of developing a coin is to make it worth something so you get paid for your efforts eventually.

SMARTCOIN IS A SCAM !!!!

Stop making unsubstantiated posts like that or I'm deleting them.

Would be a good idea to take the wallet being accused of scamming off your page though.

Anyway, it's incredibly naive to leave anything worth of value in a place where you have zero control over it. Too much shit can go wrong, intentional or otherwise. Therefore, I do not understand the point of using online wallets. I trust myself more than I trust anyone else, especially with crypto this is the only correct attitude. Just google for hacked online wallets, the list is long. Very long.

1231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ••• [ANN][SMC] SmartCoin • FAIR DISTRIBUTION • 3 EXCHANGES [COINMARKET.IO] ••• on: February 05, 2014, 12:05:42 PM
It wasn't actively promoted by the dev, the creator of it claimed a reward, and it was listed as an online wallet is all.

Doesn't matter who "promotes" it, any online wallet has a huge red target on its back. Even large and reputable online wallets have been hacked over time. There is absolutely NO reason to use or trust an online wallet. When they don't scam you they still get hacked, frequently. History has proven they are NOT SAFE and you guys put your trust in one that's been online for literally days?
1232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ••• [ANN][SMC] SmartCoin • FAIR DISTRIBUTION • 3 EXCHANGES [COINMARKET.IO] ••• on: February 05, 2014, 11:56:31 AM
Can someone explain me why hordes of people trust their coins to online wallets? I honestly don't see it, you're trusting your coin to a complete stranger with usually no prior reputation of any kind, when it takes all of 4 seconds to download and run the wallet on your PC. Want to have access to it anywhere? Put it on a USB stick.

Online wallets are the crypto equivalent of leaving your wallet with notes sticking out of it on the dashboard of your parked car.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Freshmarket.co.in compromised on: February 05, 2014, 09:14:06 AM
Why would someone ask a 10 BTC ransom to release coins worth... more than 10 BTC? Doesn't sound like good hacker logic unless he's just trying to get another 10 BTC on top of everything of course.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SCRYPT JANE] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: February 05, 2014, 08:48:37 AM
I'm new to the scrypt-jane thing, getting odd results from my reference 7970s.

In one rig (only 2 cards, but 8GB RAM) they do 535 kh each at the usual setting which gives me 700 kh/s in regular scrypt.
The other rigs (3 & 4 cards, only 2GB RAM each) they only do 455 kh at exactly the same settings.

Does system RAM influence hashing speed?

smartcoin, when do you plan to implement Kimoto's Gravity Well? Any plans as to make this unique? Maybe adding in anonymous messaging like Neocoin?

All of those features would require a hard fork. In order for something like that to go smoothly, careful planning must be done and ideally it should only happen once in the entire lifetime of a coin. Even once is too many, but due to pressure by the community, I stuck with the original release date.

At least at this point you only need to talk to 1 pool to make sure the majority goes onto the right fork  Grin

Another vote for Smartcoin [SMC]

+1

Love SMC and really dig the CoinEx interface after getting into MOON trading there.

I just thought that a smart person would want to sell and rebuy back in at a much lower price is all. Just ignore though, you learn a lot that way and call anyone who you disagree with a troll.

What makes you think we're not trading this thing all the way down? I know I am. The swings are hilarious, I've lost count how often I've made 20 to 30% in a single trade between the exchanges or by (somewhat naughtily) dumping on the buy orders and then buying back way lower from the "oh noes it's going down" crowd. As an added bonus when the price drops the difficulty drops with it right on cue, all things considered as little as this coin is currently worth it's not particularly unprofitable to mine compared to other coins.

You are a troll because you rehash BS like "premine dump" "dev is a woman " (WTF?) plus your constant stream of pointless negativity about a coin you don't even own - also the fact that you even seem proud about trades where you lost 25% for no good reason.
Anyone could see that the price was going to go down after the initial frenzy, it says nothing about the future of this coin. Many coins have been just about entirely worthless and written off and still rose. In fact these are the best ones because you can realize very healthy gains. Good luck getting a coin like LTC or DOGE to go up thousands of percentage points from where they are now. If you buy into 10 of these, 9 can fail and you still come out way ahead. I'm happy mining this thing, selling some, keeping some, and trading to keep the BTC value of my holdings stable during the price decline.

I quite like xhash, different and nice interface and excellent payouts.

I sold at 4650 because I was smart enough to read the signs.

If you sold that low evidently you suck at reading "the signs".

Heck I sold some at 11500 just yesterday which I had picked up at 5500. You must've sold about as low as it ever got. Good job.

At any rate why are you still trolling this topic if you no longer have a stake in it?

at .0004650 you moron! I sold at the effing peak, right after it launched.

Oh look, the troll is decimal challenged as well.

The current price is 5255 satoshis. The way one reads numbers in the civilized world, no digits are supposed to follow after that.

Also, you're such a troll you can't even keep the story straight:

I bought at over .0001 and sold to .000075.

GTFO before you embarrass yourself further.
