1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 21, 2014, 10:01:13 AM
For the love of FUCK will someone please stop the bleeding! Morons are eroding everyone's profits here.

What good is profit if it can't be turned into real money exactly?
1322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 20, 2014, 01:15:56 PM
I mailed them, they said "Sorry, it is not possible right now."  so this is fake.

Easy to see why: BTC-e doesn't use enough decimal places for DOGE/BTC trading to be possible. This has already caused issues with currencies like FTC, and they've not shown any initiative to change their engine to allow for cheaper currencies.
1323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 20, 2014, 11:56:41 AM
Every now and then the middlecoin dude has to dump a ****ton of coins, it's to be expected.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.4 Released MANDATORY UPDATE on: January 20, 2014, 11:14:15 AM
Cryptsy is a farce. DOGE deposit takes hours/days depending on *who knows*

I trade my minings at BTER and a transfer there takes...about 10 minutes.
1325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cons of card undervolting ? on: January 20, 2014, 06:09:02 AM
Generally, it'd be most electricity-efficient (though possibly less "MTBF-efficient") to increase voltage and drop current. Unsure if this is significant with low voltages in DC components. However, it's now much more possible to do by increasing voltage and dropping "power tune" in the newer AMD cards.

You can't drop the current directly, a GPU operating at maximum hashing speed (not maximum clocks per se, as already pointed out) needs a certain voltage to be stable. What we can optimize is the lowest possible voltage at which it does that. When we drop the voltage, it reduces the leakage of the chip which then in turn leads to less power being drawn. In effect, the input current is reduced considerably but indirectly. Throttling the current via powertune will seriously impact the chip's performance so that's no good in our case.

I have my R9 290s hashing at 805 kh/s instead of 875 because the difference is 75 watts per card. Not worth it for me. 911/1250 clocks at 1.00V on the GPU draws 150W on my watercooled card and 170W on the aircooled ones. Nice and efficient. My 7970s are doing 700 kh each at around 150W in a cold room. These are DC input wattages based on the VRM input current.

I could make a few percent more money at today's rates but after electricity the difference really is almost negligible, and the cards are much happier running cooler.
1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Mining in winter rules on: January 19, 2014, 10:26:55 AM
Well at least one good side of winter. Freezing your *** off outside being a bad one.

~150W input isn't too shabby for a 7970 at 700kh. The VRMs are around 85% efficient at these temps it seems.

Another rig closer to the window has the outer card running at 25C load  Cheesy

I'm running 3 290s on an 850W Corsair. (single 12V rail ftw)

Undervolted and underclocked they pull less than 200W doing 800 kh. They'll do 875 if you don't mind them pulling another 75W as well. Not really worth it from an efficiency point of view imo.
1328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 17, 2014, 11:24:07 AM
I pulled my rigs off and pointed them at DOGE. Just couldn't fix my 60% rejected hashing here  Huh
At the new pool I'm seeing 2.5% rejected shares so I dunno why middlecoin suddenly didn't like my rigs.
1329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 17, 2014, 10:22:04 AM
My rejected has been increasing exponentially, but I seem to be the only one?  Huh

http://www.middlecoin.com/reports/162Lrh1EFAvXeic9HDeRGsMA5pCD3mAn9b.html

4 rigs 7.4 MH total, 1 address. Pool diff is 1024 which is very very high compared to the diff of the coins being mined...
1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 17, 2014, 07:56:22 AM
Shares are now coming at a diff of 1024  Angry

My reject rate suddenly also went up from 0.0x MH/s to 0.8 MH/s (out of 7.5 total)
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technologies photos on: January 13, 2014, 08:38:10 PM
Good luck buying one...You'll be paying a 2x premium...mining devices are hotter than time machines you can't really get one unless you a) wait in line, b) wait until after its been out for a while and still pay 2x a premium.  I like the idea of gpus - but right now to buy them in the same magnitude that they match alpha's cost, would mean I would need to buy them in bulk right now at once, that isn't possible - you're looking at 6-8 weeks out if you want to buy a bulk of cards upfront (do you believe these zoomhash guys to be legit?  if so I'd buy them from here)

Still, even by Alpha's official timeline (odds of them delivering on time?) you would have been mining several months with GPUs before you could hope to receive this ASIC. That'll take quite a while to catch up in terms of electricity. And what are the odds of them actually delivering what they are promising to build? 50/50 ? I don't think they are better than that. It still makes no sense to tie up funds for something so far away, so uncertain, and with a marginal outright gain on existing tech which has a certain residual value.

Quite, which is what I said at the end of the first paragraph there  Smiley
1333  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 13, 2014, 06:13:45 PM
Is Gox a safe place to trade if so, has anyone actually got their money from them when they withdrew?.
I am waiting for my verification to go through, its been about 2 weeks. Bastards will let you deposit coins, but wont let you take them out without verification. Is there anything i can do about this?

No...shoud've read the forums man.

Maybe you can get your money from Gox after a few months. Maybe not. It's not recommended at this point. Considering it's been this way since before summer...it's not looking brilliant.
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technologies photos on: January 13, 2014, 05:59:22 PM
Sure I understand why people would be skeptical, but lets be frank - scrypt ASICs are coming, period. Im onboard that crucial first boat, because I understand risk/reward quite well.

I'm not sure you do. Unlike the SHA ASICs, these things are not delivering a hugely exponential increase in hashing power per dollar.
In fact you can buy a bunch of GPUs right now that will hash that much for similar money. How much coins will they mine before this vaporware ever ships? Even if it does, your main advantage is electricity usage. For electricity to be the deciding factor profitability has to be quite low already.

If you would get 100 MH for the price of 10 GPUs, then the potential reward would indeed be great. Right now, it really isn't. Not to mention, if scrypt asics come to dominate the large scrypt coins, the difficulty will skyrocket while tons of coins with a slightly different algorhitm are released. No matter how I look at this, tying up money in a scrypt asic preorder simply does not look profitable.
1335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 12, 2014, 06:27:35 PM
Amazing that people stays here.
Show us a pool that compares...  Oh wait, you are keeping your newly discovered pool a 'secret'... <heavy sarcasm> right... </sarcasm>

In terms of this week's profitability...well any LTC, FTC or Doge pool along with many other smaller alts we can't mine here.

I am leaving in 2 days when I get back to my rigs. The pool operator has lost my trust, plain and simple.
1336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 10, 2014, 07:41:30 PM
Probably getting hard to move so much coin, I'd rather he waits for higher prices on some of them. Each day lots of these coins fluctuate a lot in price. He probably has targets set.

I'm not on tealovers side here with the drama nor do I think his agenda is honorable, but your apologism for H2O seems a bit unfounded as well. The math does not add up, because if the volume of coins generated is getting too large to move at the prices H2O wants then the only solution is to lower the price and sell the damn things anyway. While he is waiting the price could just as well tank. If he does eventually get to his ambitious target, by then a new pile of nigh unsellable coins has been built up. The only sustainable way is sell as much coins as you generate every day.
My unexchanged is 300% of my last 2 payouts. At some point the term "auto exchange" is no longer a valid description of the pool.
1337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 10, 2014, 06:07:49 PM
My unexchanged balance is now 300 percent of my average daily payout. And growing. This is not "auto exchanging" anymore. If anyone says "not enough market depth" - well what are we waiting for, the altcoin market to expand a few hundred percent? Could take a while. If there's not enough BTC flowing into alts to get the price H2O wants for the coins we mined, then that's just how it is and we should settle for less. I'll take less over nothing for an indefinite amount of time. Auto exchanging to me does not mean "will be exchanged at some point in the future maybe tomorrow maybe next week maybe..."
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 09, 2014, 09:17:00 AM
I do think I'll leave next week when I get home to my rigs if things are still going this way. The pool is now too big to be really profitable... It's simple math to realize profit switching pools like this one only give good gains up to a certain size relative to total hashpower in the system.

Why people are so touchy in here I don't quite understand. H2O is like an absent stepparent in the main discussionf orum concerning his goose with  golden eggs. Nobody here should have a reason to be in love with this pool when it is not more profitable than straight up mining a large altcoin. On the other hand, while the herd is on middlecoin it means that there is room to make more money elsewhere so by all means, continue.

1339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 09, 2014, 07:51:44 AM
I'm getting ever so slightly uncomfortable with that growing pile of unexchanged coins towering above my payouts. I'd like to get what I mined fairly swiftly not with several days delay. The value just starts to get higher than what I trust complete strangers with in the crypto universe.
1340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 08, 2014, 12:19:22 PM
Can someboy tell me how much BTC can 1m hashrate make per day please?

Yersteday it was 4 $ !!!

My 6.5 MH made 65 dollars at the last payout. Today seems less so far, but I have a ton of unexchanged building up.
