Hello Everyone

Sorry we were offline for a while in the forums, we were incredibly busy with Heroes development and pushing forward the Beta release for the first gambling game lately.
We have been working on dozen major changes, at this point we completed more than 50% of them.

Here are the main things we are working on in the near future:
Heroes:
  • Event descriptions and invite: Each event that starts in game will describe exactly how it works with a small screenshot. Before it was a simple text window saying "Event XXX is starting do you want to join". We are  converting that to a basic HTML layout so we can embed media to that invite
  • Increasing demand for new player generated items: New players often have issues finding ways to 'catch up' to older players. We are introducing a new boss, a new item system and modifying a few rates to make the items that new players can earn easily have more demand so that they can focus on those areas of the game to help them get started and earning
  • Adding multiple new weapon skills: There are multiple weapons in the game with many models that aren't being used by players. We are re-working how those weapons work to make them more in demand for players. This increases variety in game paly and gives older players something new to work on with relatively little work from me (just a few skills and some balance changes)
  • Frequently asked question system: In addition to our live support system. We are working on what is basically a in-game wiki that will contain categories and lists of questions/answers for them. This includes things like rates, times of events, quick star guides, etc. This was already on website but we are re-formatting it and re-working the content so we can access it from inside the game using a help button

First gambling game:
  • Art - Done
  • Core mechanisms - Done
  • Website authentication - WIP
  • Blockchain logic - WIP

In General

We are here for the long run, we're not for the pump & dump, we have a limited budget, and we prefer not to have someone to do communications on a payroll at the moment, before we feel the game is ready for a PR boost and fast growth of user base.

We are working lean, doing what needs to be done when it needs to be done; developing, testing, changing, tweaking, reiterating, etc. To have a great game that players will love to play and that players will want to buy and spend JWLs which is how all of us are going to monetize this game.

At this moment you can expect dev updates about every two weeks, however we will make greater effort to be more reactive and post on going updates more frequent in BCT, Slack and Twitter.

We would like to hear suggestions from the crypro community regarding the games or any other project comments. We want you to assist in any means you can/want and we will discuss the selected ones.

Have a great weekend  Smiley

@Dev how much of the ICO funds do you have left for development? I heard that you plan to put some burn mechanisms in place for the currency and I would suggest that you maybe rather accumulate jewels and have them locked for a second round of funding to potential angel investors. That would give you more capital for development Wink

I doubt they would ever need to do that because:

1. Thats a shady move and these devs don't strike me as that type.
2. They got waaaay more than they asked for in the first ico.

We would never do something like this without far advance notice and the approval of the community. The burn mechanisms are created in such a way where both the holders of Jewels benefits from the burn as well as us receiving part of it. Taking all of it on the other hand creates uncertainty for investors and does not help them or incentivize them to hold Jewels. More over it can be a scary thought for an investor if the developers or any individual for that matter owns a large portion of the coin.

I'm sure some of you saw our Tweet last week there would be some big news to clarify we'll be posting some updates and reports about the progress of things as well as a document detailing systems of Rebirth, how they will affect Jewels and what to expect. We apologize for the delay on releasing this document as I know I posted some time ago that the first part of this series of documents would be issued near the end of the month but will instead be released in about 7-14 days from now. Thanks for the understanding and hope everyone is looking forward to it.

More and more its looks like an abandoned project. They put eggs on it. Zero response from them.

I'm not sure where you've gotten the idea of an abandoned project, but allow me to clarify a few things,

Currently, we've started development on the networking layer of Rebirth. This month, we'll be aiming to publish a whitepaper for Rebirth broken into segments for release and review by the community. We're open to feedback and criticism and of course we're open to adapting based on new information and ideas that come to light.

We're also actively looking and forming connections with press related marketing personnel as we begin our development in 2017.
It's but a matter of patience Smiley

It's been awhile since I've posted myself since usually Chris has popped in as of late to post updates/answer questions but I thought I'd just reiterate that we have been working hard and will continue to work hard towards the goals we set in the beginning.

In January, we will be looking to release a whitepaper describing the networking protocol, implementation and schema and aim to continue working towards this direction. With Rebirth, it's out aim to have higher transparency in terms of keeping investors on the same page as our development and as such our whitepapers will usually describe things in terms that any typical investor can understand as well as delve into the technical aspect of it that probably only those with technical backgrounds or knowledge of programming with understand.

This will serve two purposes as it keeps you guys informed but also provides us a clear guide to follow to keep us on task.

Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays and Happy New Years! We're all looking forward to the things to come in 2017.

you can choose between:
Beyond The Void
JewelsCoin/Conquer Heroes
Collectible Game Cards

What do you think who will win?

I'll give my 2c on this and I don't think it makes particular sense to ask "who will win" because how does one exactly determine what winning is? Is having the most profitable revenue winning because this doesn't factor in the "type" of game (MMO, RTS, RPG, Solo) or is having a product that your users enjoy and receive well considered winning? In that sense isn't it possible for us all to win? Smiley

Would also add that I wouldn't say "Jewels / Conquer Heroes" because they're not the same thing which or implies. Heroes is one of the first products we've created that uses Jewels but it is by far from encompassing all that we want Jewels to be.

I wish the best to BTV, CGC, SoG and any other similar project 2017. Good luck!

Devs be devvin'.

We're currently actually uploading/editing the latest Jewels Talk where we focus on our monetization plans for the mini-games, Heroes and Rebirth. Once this is uploaded, I'll post the link.

The video also goes into our plans a bit on the notion of PR as others have brought up. Our first point of advertisement / awareness for Jewels will be centered on the mini-games we're developing as well as Heroes. While we currently do have things we can show for Heroes (screenshots/videos from in-game) we're really waiting on being able to demonstrate functionality from the mini-games so we can get the most out of our PR. It goes a long way to show relevant pictures and videos to what's being developed rather than abstract art that may look nice but really has nothing to do with the product being developed.

Also, when we were reviewing the video we noticed we forgot to mention how monetization will affect the burning of Jewels. To clarify on this for Heroes, it will be using a burn mechanism similar to what we have planned for the mini-games allowing all JWL holders to directly benefit in value-increase. In other words as the house wins, so do JWL holders also win Wink. We'll have specifics on this when the first mini-game is officially launched into production.

What is the current status of this project?  Have any of the blockchain features been implemented in the game?
yea it would be great to get some news about

The JWL currency itself is usable in Heroes and has been a crux of the Heroes shop since the initial launch of the server. Currently the gambling game services as well the marketplace (transitioned into the auction house) which will be two very crucial aspects to Jewels are in development. Once our next major use feature of Jewels is released, we'll be clarifying and implementing a transparent burn mechanism allowing those who are holders of JWL to proportionally benefit from our activities. Following this, we will be focusing more on the PR side of things to raise awareness of Jewels.

Updates to Heroes are regularly posted on the Heroes website at http://conquerheroes.com/ and JWL related information is usually Tweeted at https://twitter.com/jewelscoin

We're currently looking into a means of being able to easier communicate our development progress on all of our projects (Jewels related, Heroes, Rebirth, etc.) in a cohesive manner and more information to come on this soon.

I hope this helps answer some questions others may have had.

The first of our jewels hangouts where Roy and I discuss the goals of rebirth, game design and the limitations of conquer and what's unique and enjoyable about it.

This episode focuses on the limitations of the combat and networking systems of conquer. The reason we are discussing it so heavily is that is what our networking prototype with heroes will focus on.

Listening to it right this second! One quick request: normalize audio for these... one of you is very quiet, while the other is very loud, so it hurts to turn it up to a good volume because of the switchover.

Thanks. I can assure you that production quality on these daily meetings will definitely increase with time. Also, if anyone is interested in being featured in a discussion topic with us, feel free to reach out to us via Slack or Email and perhaps we can arrange for a talk! Of course we expect though you be at least have some background in whatever it is you want to join the discussion on Smiley

Just thinking out loud after listening to your Jewels Talk on youtube: While I really appreciate you guys being such hardcore gamer geeks, you guys really lost me 1/3 way into the talk. I am sure many of your fellow gamers would really appreciate what was discussed but you need to understand that majority of your crypto investors are not really going to understand nor interested in such nitty gritty technical details. Nevertheless, I still listened through the entire interview, and learnt a thing or two abt the game/gaming. It was helpful.

I am sure many here would agree that you guys have no lack of skills, talent, substance or vision. But what this project needs is a bit more style. In other words, you need to 'dress up' your project with a bit more flair, and try to communicate to your non-gamer-investors in very simple and easy to understand ways. Treat us like idiots. Tell us things we like to hear like why we should believe in you guys even though we don't even play games even on our mobile phones. I know you may think it's shallow, but this scenario is a case that is not unique in the wider society. Scientists and academics too need to step down from their ivory tower every once in a while and raise support, whether financially or simply to help raise awareness abt their research from among the public, who may at first have absolutely no clue (nor interest) abt what these scientists' or academics' researches are about. And most times, they will need to put on a tie and business suit to do that effectively. It's not selling out, it is basically education, and a matter of being professional. Now that you guys have raised a whole bunch of money from among the crypto community, I think you need to proceed with marketing efforts on two fronts simultaneously:

A. Continue what you are doing: explain, clarify, reach out and raise awareness among existing and potential gamers, stay geeky and technical - Knock Yourself Out!

B. Hire a company or someone experienced with marketing crypto to conduct a proper marketing/branding campaign. Redo your website professionally, pack it with content + make it super informative and looking sleek, clean and hip. Hire artists to make game related original art throughout the site. Redesign a new logo. Write a comprehensive whitepaper specifically Re:Jewels as a crypto-currency. Include whatever you guys have done so far + all the vision and dreams you have about the coin + what you are planning to do. Include a video to explain the who-when-why-what-how of Jewels, as distinct from other cryptocurrencies. Current info available about this coin is rather messy I find. With a comprehensive marketing package done like this, journalists or writers who wish to report on Jewels as a crypto-currency will find it much easier to gather information for their writeups in articles and websites as well. You may think these things are "simply" cosmetics, but you will be surprised how positively the the wider public will respond to them. Crypto peeps especially are used to these things. Truth is thousands of investors are actively seeking for projects to put their BTCBTCBTC into everyday. These marketing efforts as I have mentioned are designed to raise the market capital of $JWL as a crypto currency, making investors want to head to Bittrex (and hopefully soon Poloniex) to buy some $JWL after visiting your website, reading your white paper or watching the video. We not only need to know how serious you guys are about gaming, we also need you to pitch your projects and vision to us so that we + many more others, would want to continue to support you. I will say it again: Marketing and branding is not selling out, it is basically educating the public as effectively as possible, and a matter of being professional.

I have been talking with Roy on Slack and know you guys already have many of what I mentioned in point B in the works already. I just wish to put it out there for future reference and for others to read as well. I want to see if the rest of the Jewels community agree with me. I have, and still believe in this team and your projects, and am very keen to see the progress this coin makes in the next few months. Onwards and forward!  Cool

So probably a 1/3 of the way through we were talking about gaming yes, but probably even gamers wouldn't understand what the focus of that video was about. Mainly, last weeks video was a very dev/programming oriented talk and this weeks video will be a follow up but we won't have to go into as much technical (programming) detail as we did last week. It should be much easier to follow.

I want to also take a moment to apologize for the production quality. As I stated before, it will be improved and we're also looking at doing it as a Google hangout-style sort of thing where webcams are shown, or something a long that line.

Your feed back on how to communicate and pitch better is greatly appreciated and I'll be taking that into consideration anytime I give a talk in the future. I think the comparison to Scientists is sort of around the right ball park as with the last video you probably didn't understand too much unless you were a Programmer (and even then you'd need to know about the networking protocol of modern day games).

Your points raised in B... to comment on them now would make this post way too long so I'm going to save that and tackle it tomorrow.

Once again though, thanks for your support and kind words. We always appreciate any advice and feedback our community has to offer us.

Almost 400BTC invested and no one willing to buy more even lower then ICO. That's not a good sign!  Shocked

Price will rise when people actually start using JWL often in game.

The game should only use JWL ^^
How do I sell my things for JWL ? On the auction house ? ( if there is one ) I have asked someone this before but it got lost in the thread.

Since Chris already answered your question I'd also add that if you have game related questions you will probably have an easier time getting them answered (or perhaps they've already been asked) over at https://www.reddit.com/r/ConquerHeroes/

Hey,

I've been away for the last few days with some personal things but it's time for a formal update to the roadmap which will cover Fall 2016 (Q4) of development. To answer a question asked on Slack, Jewels that are acquired through the Jewels Heroes Shop are being accumulated into a secondary development fund. To answer a subsequent question we expect Jewels that are acquired through Gambling will both be accumulated into the secondary development fund, but we will also be employing a burn mechanism which will use a verifiable burn address to allow those who are holding to benefit from the decreasing of the JWL supply in circulation.

Here is an updated road map from now till New Years.

  • Heroes (now - January)
    • Tournaments
      • Cash Prizes (for some tournaments, not all)
      • Elite PK (gear is factored)
      • Skill PK (gear is irrelevant, skill based)
      • Elite Team PK (gear is factored)
      • Skill Team PK (gear is irrelevant, skill based)
      • Class PK
    • Gambling Games
      • 3-reel Slots, 5-reel Slots (progressive Jackpot)
      • Video Poker
      • A Dice based Game
    • Events
      • King of the Hill (PvP)
      • Soccer (PvP)
      • Christmas Event (PvE)
    • New Systems
      • New composition system (continued to be epxanded)
      • Marketplace (expanded as time goes on into Auction House)
      • Mail System
      • Raid System
    • Mechanics
      • Push/Pull skills
    • Expansion
      • New (Raid) Bosses
      • New Quests / Events
      • New Skills
      • New Cosmetics / Visuals
      • American (NA) Server Launched
  • Rebirth (primarily December - January)
    • Initial Concept Paper Released
      • Discuss Theme
      • Pacing and Progression
      • Classes and Design Philosophy
      • Game Play Mechanics
    • Video Logs / Discussion
      • First of which expected October 28th, 2016
    • Prototype Development Starts (end of December)

To make a few things clear, the Jewels Marketplace and Heroes Mail System is expected to be done as part of the expansion. The Jewels market place will eventually be adapted into an Auction House and will adopt flexibility to work for both Heroes and Rebirth in the grand scheme of things. The dice game we have is not the traditional dice game you're use to playing on crypto-sites. It has the same underlying mechanics of using provably fair mathematics to generate a random value, however the actual game itself is themed around and existing dice game in Conquer. We believe this will be nostalgic for those playing Heroes and a breath of fresh air for those in crypto as this has been done a million times and there are plenty of websites you can use for this. If there is enough demand, we will develop the traditional crypto dice game that everyone is use to as well.

Things for Rebirth (ie the paper release) will be mainly made available in December, although vlogs will start at the end of October. The initial concept paper will not be the only design document we release on Rebirth as once we commit to other ideas we have on the table which will be discussed in vlogs we'll be adding them to our design document so likely there will be revisions made to this document released in the months to come (i.e. January/Februrary).

I will now be active and available on Slack again, so feel free to message and reach out to us there!

nice seeing you back dev i do believe that this previous dumped will be recover as we know those early holders after seeing this updates will surely comeback here and start supporting your project again, good luck buds.

Just to be clear, despite myself being absent as Chris was still present and working and we're still on schedule with everything Smiley.

What's silly is how clear it is you haven't read the OP... At all. Wink

How can I claim my JWL?

If you were an ICO investor, you should have received an email near early September dealing how to login and set up your account. You can always use password recovery, your username should be the same as the one you used on Apex Conquer to invest with on the jewelsproject.com website just click "Login".

Your JWL should already be on your account and withdrawable. If this is not what you're referring to you'll have to explain a bit further

When I try to send my JWL I get:

"An unexpected error has occured, please try again later."

I tried sending a smaller amount and it worked.  I can't send the whole thing?

Well I'm down to about 50k JWL that it won't let me send.  What do I have to do to send them?

Might be fees? Try sending everything you have minus like 0.01 JWL for fees maybe so if you have 50k send 49999.99

I have 50k and it won't even let me send 10k.

Send an email to roy.khan@jewelsproject.com from the email you're registered with. I'll take a look into it tonight once I'm home currently out at a family function. Sorry for the inconveinience!

Was there a beyond bitcon meeting today.

There was and if there's ever a doubt if there is - check @officialfuzzy on SteemIt and look at the RSVP thread. I think it's a fair assumption to make those that are attending live are also up voting us and already know about this. The recording as usual will probably be live in 2-3 days.

To highlight an important point we made during this week's Beyond Bitcoin meeting we're going to be changing how we do our weekly updates to a system that adds some extra content for both investors and gamers following our project.

We will no longer be attending every week of Beyond Bitcoin but rather will RSVP if we have very important updates to announce such as the planned expansion-patch for Conquer Heroes in the upcoming months. Instead we will be holding our own weekly hangouts in replace of Beyond Bitcoin on a Discord server that we'll be setting up. This allows us to reach a wider audience of discussing changes and updates reaching both gamers and crypto investors. The hangouts will be all recorded and posted on youtube and we encourage audience participation throughout the session.

We will also be starting next week an unscheduled unedited vlog series where Chris and I hope to cover a variety of topics such as game play, mechanics, concepts but may also address things such as difficulties we come across, alternative approaches we come up with to use to circumvent said difficulties and just a variety of topics in general. Occasionally for certain topics we may look to bring on guest speakers and get their thoughts on things in real time. Over all we think this will prompt more discussion but also give both investors and gamers an idea of what's going behind the scenes. As mentioned, there will be no release schedule or fixed time length of the videos which alleviates content deadlines from us but likely there will be at least 1 vlog a week at 1 - 10 minutes in length.

Welcome to bittrex, did you pay 3 btc listing fee there? Or they added you without fees?

No fee was paid so if you're a user of the Bittrex Slack or Twitter be sure to give them a shout and tell them thanks Smiley

EXCHANGE NEWS

We are officially listed on Bittrex now.

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-JWL

do we have any official jewels logo? We need one before this becoming very big. Smiley

I'm personally a big fan of the fa-diamond as a design starting point, but we'll be discussing this more soon and possibly holding a contest for logo design Smiley

To the others above, thanks for your support and I'd encourage you join us at the Beyond Bitcoin hangouts live if possible Smiley

Chris, have you considered hiring a professional PR person. Im listening to you on BB and you just seem to be rambling a tad. I know coders are a funky bunch so think about it because a pro pr rep could do wonders.

We have, but I think you're forgetting something which is that we're working off a budget that we already have broken down and allocated for the most part. I don't think at this point we can justify bringing someone on for simply being a spokesperson for us and paying then for that in contrast to the jobs we've recently brought people on for (Client Security Developer, Statistical Analyst Consultant). You state they could do wonders so would you mind elaborating on what you personally think they would bring to the table that's currently insufficient?

I apologize if it seems we're rambling on but at the same time I'm also surprised that you'd rather hear news about development and plans going forward from a representative rather than those who have the vision themselves and are developing it. I think due to this, we can go a lot more in depth when we give our explanations of where we're currently at and more important we can answer technical questions. I think this is an important point because it's worth noting Beyond Bitcoin is not simply us dumping information/updates as listeners are encouraged to probe us with questions relevant to discussion. It's hard to equip a representative with technical answers to questions we don't know ahead of time.

Thanks for your input and I'm sure as we get busier and in the future at some point we will be adding a teammate to our roster for this position.

Will definitely try the mmorpg game soon.

When you are ready to try it out you need to create an account first on their website. http://bit.ly/2dKNuBb

Then when you get in game check out their Wiki page for some help on getting started. http://wiki.conquerheroes.com/

Also when you are in game their is a small ? Icon on the bottom right hand side that is LIVE support, I used it last night and a character came to me in game to help me out. Super easy and super convenient for newbies.

It's a pretty fun game you guys, once you kind of get the hang of how to get around and farm stuff and do quests it gets kind of addicting.

Also want to add there is a simple in game marketplace button where newcomers can buy valuable items and unique items, gives JWL demand and use case right off the bat.

Just want to clarify an account on jewelsproject.com and conquerheroes.com are one and the same.
