41  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A fully decentralized marketplace on: April 25, 2024, 08:17:46 PM
How user friendly do you think your platform be? -- not a rhetorical question, BTW

I think one of the biggest challenges of such marketplaces is onboarding users esp seeing what went down with openbazaar. Perhaps, you could think about hitting a middle ground between security and user friendliness? 🤔 (tho im not sure what that is ofc )
42  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you need help? on: April 25, 2024, 06:29:17 PM
I've read many scams that started in PMs, so I agree with Oshosondy. A lot of of people are surprisingly gullible, op. I hope you can understand this -- most especially people who have been suffering from mental health issues are likely to not be in right mind all the time.

For everyone's confidence, let's try to keep it in public. If someone can't post using their main account, then make an alt account -- alt accounts are allowed as long as you don't use it for cheating.

As a fellow victim who suffered similar symptoms (allegedly), yeah, maybe op could offer some help up to some extent but if they're not a mental health professional then it's advisable to take their words with a grain of salt and ponder first.

Also, if someone's getting a crippling stress from trading, they have to ask themself if it's worth the trouble. IMO, no, I would just quit it all and stick to holding.
43  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does clogged mempool affect your crypto business? on: April 24, 2024, 09:38:55 PM
Thank god we're slowly hitting normal levels again.

Is the runes hype joever 'for now'?  -- maybe because of the slight dump? and/or folks were just rushing to do transactions before 4th halving which is already over?

In any case, brc-20 hype will start again once btc pumps, I suggest making preparations early like keeping low fee altcoins. For businesses with BTC-only currency, best we could do as users is to suggest alternative payment methods.
44  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchanges Nowadays on: April 24, 2024, 08:34:31 PM
Used to be super active but got burned by most of the old closures (Cryptsy, btc-e, Bter, etc), so where is the best place to trade nowadays?

Were you using exchanges to store your cryptocurrencies? if so, this isn't advisable as you may have already know. The best middle ground approach right now is to withdraw your funds to a non custodial wallet if you're not actively trading.

In addition, I think, it would help if you can list your use cases or some pros and cons for you as well as your country. Ultimately, every exchanges will have their own pros and cons hence it's up to us to weigh things down -- prioritize our must have use cases/features/coins and pick cons that are bearable for us.
45  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hit the MAX WIN on Zeus vs Hades—$240K payout in crypto! 🚀🚀🚀 on: April 24, 2024, 06:12:18 PM
It’s my first time to see this casino but I think they might be connected to ltccasino and other casino with same name branding. Keep us updated and please provide screenshots of your withdrawal to guarantee that all your testimonial here is genuine.

Interesting, you're def onto something and there's indeed a connection as I saw ethcasino.io in ltccasino's website, see: https://archive.is/QAZNG#selection-627.0-627.25

Maaan, this is another bad sign because as we all know, ltccasino doesn't have a good standing in the forum and other platforms like casino guru.

For anyone unfamiliar with them, see:

46  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance app is no longer available in Philippines. on: April 23, 2024, 11:47:15 PM
According from a local news outlet, it doesn't look like binance can register anytime soon  Huh

Can Binance Secure a License Today?

It should be noted, however, that Binance cannot obtain a license today because of the current moratorium for applications of new licensed virtual currency exchanges, set forth by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in 2022.

So I'm not expecting this all would be lifted anytime soon. Whether binance is interested in obtaining a license or nah is a different story though. I did look at Philippine peso "p2p market" and it looks like it is business as usual for many people.

Also, I'm assuming if you're a local who managed to install the app before the removal or through other means, then, it will still work, no? -- without altering IP
47  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ViaBTC free accelerator should not be trusted on: April 23, 2024, 10:20:04 PM
I had the same experience. My previous tries were all filled with "captcha not right" even though they were all correct otherwise, the captcha itself wouldn't return a "success" message, no?

But I was able to push a transaction today. I'm not exactly sure what's goin on either  Huh

My theory is, maybe I needed to submit once the free slots refreshes on viabtc and not as soon as the hour resets on my clock? will have to test this next time.

What I've been doing was submit as soon as the hour resets on my clock and these all returned captcha not right error. On my last hour of trying, I tried to submit an entry as soon as the hour reset on my clock, naturally, this returned captcha not right error. Then, I saw the free slots went down to 14 so I tried again and it finally pushed through -- on my previous tries, I got the "quota has ran out". Ig, I was lucky this time that all slots weren't taken yet.

The "captcha not right" would still be a strange error, in any case lol

49  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading campaigns helps level up trading for traders on: April 22, 2024, 11:12:15 PM
So, even if traders incur losses, the prospect of earning substantial rewards can motivate them to keep trading.

But risks should be taken into account as well. For instance, they could end up burning a lot of money and not getting the reward they want or at least the same value of the funds burned. But hm, I think most people in the forum are not whale enough for such contest.
50  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 22, 2024, 10:34:01 PM
IMO, I think people are coming in and out of BTC all the time.

But we can draw the line on how significant are these numbers. Sadly, I don't have any concrete data to show you but if you ask me, significant drops would most likely happen during the bear market aka when price corrections comes. and I don't think we're at that stage yet but we'll see.

There are some speculations about continous down trend in preparation for the new ATH, if this happens, I could see some weak hands falling out lol.
51  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: April 22, 2024, 09:53:26 PM
This is a usual case in the country and I don't think is a new thing anymore because had came across lot of news related to this.

Ah really? I'd avoid them at all cost then.

I'm curious if the shop or the brand are doing anything to fight this or their stance have always only been, just get your money from the thief-esque? because if this is happening too many times, there's a possibility that the managements have a lax quality control on their employees 🤔

IMO the brand should subsidize the losses otherwise people would be loosing confidence or perhaps too many players just don't give a damn and business is still flourishing? lol
52  Economy / Gambling / Re: Hit the MAX WIN on Zeus vs Hades—$240K payout in crypto! 🚀🚀🚀 on: April 21, 2024, 11:50:13 PM
One of the downsides of playing in small casinos is they could have limits in respect of their bankroll. Meanwhile, big platforms shouldn't have much trouble paying six digits. However, maybe you can try your luck and write to ethcasino to raise the limit?

Is it ethcasino.io BTW? I don't see their presence in the forum or other gambling forums which I think is important in case something goes wrong because gambling platforms with such presence keep a close ties with the community to solve user complaints. Well, let's hope everything goes well for you. Congrats BTW!
53  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: April 21, 2024, 11:23:15 PM
Looks like metawin is also sponsoring a relief for the victims of a rouged project

In light of recent events at @ZKasino_io
, MetaWin extends our heartfelt support to those affected.

We are offering $1 Million in assistance to KOLs affected, to promote $MWIN along with transparency in the Web3 casino community. Please DM us.

OG MetaWinners affected please drop an email to Richard@metawin.inc.  We can’t make promises and we’ll need to link any losses to your account but you’re one of us so we’ll do our very best. 🙏🏻

For anyone unfamiliar with the situation: ZKasino launch leads to widespread outrage as $33 million promised to investors is sent to Lido

Looks like this project was hyped very much in the web3 community. Now, all the promised ETH to be returned will not happen. I don't think any other reputable platform will take them on board considering their bad rep. It's likely they'll exit soon.
54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s the slot games perfect for completing wagering requirements on: April 21, 2024, 09:18:20 PM
Max win I got from Gates of Olympus so far on a local casino is around $1000 off a $100 buy feature. It's not something big, but multiplying your money tenfold with a single round is something I would take any day.

GG! big win  Grin

Out of curiousity, was this your first bonus buy of the day or it took you couple more shots?

Try playing slots with high RTP and compare it to those with high volatility and you'll see that the more you play high RTP slots, the more you lose compared to high volatility ones--at least on my experience.

Also, from what I read before, RTP starts to actually kick in once we're playing in the long run like thousands of spins so if i'm new in the game/casino, I have less focus on this -- not saying i don't care ofc.
55  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not even a penny on: April 21, 2024, 08:11:41 PM
2020 is not that long ago even for a forgetful person like me

Can you at least vaguely remember buying bitcoin or any transactions from that time? maybe go through your emails or something. maybe it's empty/you spent it all.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s the slot games perfect for completing wagering requirements on: April 21, 2024, 07:35:40 PM
In my case, I tend to focus more on how volatile the game is because if you're lucky, multipliers can go to the moon lol.

A lot of stuff from pragmatic play are great to me tbh e.g. starlight princess, gate of olympus. Nolimit's insane volatility lineup is also interesting e.g. fire in the hole 2, the rave. I was lucky enough to trigger nice bonusses in less than a hundred spins with them.
57  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing scammers to the forum. on: April 20, 2024, 11:44:34 PM
Recovery scammers particularly goes through the internet's nooks and crannies to spam their script as there were times I found their ass on obscure websites lol. I'm guessing a lot of them are just bots.

So I'm not surprised they found their way here on bitcointalk.org. It's not mainstream, yes but the forum is popular and gets a pretty good ranking in searches.
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 20, 2024, 10:27:41 PM
I might get staked for this but I almost never use bitcoin for gambling lol.

For starters, I try to always keep low fee altcoins like LTC at my disposal for quick transactions. Because their network fees are cheap, their withdrawal fee in casinos are always cheaper than btc. Not only that, compared to BTC, the minimum withdrawal amount tend to be much lower in most casinos I've played to as well -- this is useful if you have a small bankroll.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 4th Bitcoin Halving on: April 20, 2024, 09:42:12 PM
It's another milestone that surely going to be seen soon but as we celebrate and welcome this 4th halving, here comes some unwelcoming fees update
I wasn't expecting anything better than this ... Atleast 20% of the total number of miners we have (from my estimate) would have to quit due to the halving... [how do you keep doing a business that isn't profitable anymore]?...That being said, I guess all they gotta do is increasing the fees for that reason - also for how congested the mempool currently is.

Rewards are halved but the price of bitcoin has increased more than 100% a year ago which could make up for it. However, I'm expecting a percentage of miners quitting once the bear market hits -- this happened previously too iirc.

Miners would have to manipulate the mempool by spamming them for instance to increase fees. Though I'm not saying it's impossible, the fee surge is most likely because of the runes hype.
60  Economy / Gambling / Re: AVIATRIX | NEXT GENERATION OF CRASH-GAMES | EARLY BIRD BONUS on: April 20, 2024, 07:29:50 PM
We opted not to flood inboxes with a large volume of emails, so we're only sending push notifications on the website to confirm everything is in order. You'll receive your email upon launch Smiley

Okay, that's fair.

Of course, we can provide proof of our licenses. Just send us an email at our official address listed on the website: info@aviatrix.xyz

Is there any particular reason why we can't do this in public? I do think it can actually boost your reputation when it's viewable by everyone.

BTW, I didn't see any answer to this so I'm just gonna ask.

As of now, is there any part of the demo game where we can play with real money? After trying the game, some of us were confused about this and would like a clarification from you.
