161  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which one is your most favorite alternative to Preev.com? on: March 22, 2024, 07:21:18 PM
PNNV seems to have transformed itself into an instant exchange. Does not show BTC/FIAT rates like Preev.com anymore.

Yeah, owner decided to remove it because preev.com was back, see:

I do wonder if this setup is for good or still part of the maintenance/temporary though.
PNNV is now shifting exchange service completely, so it will keep on the front page. No more live price monitors, I think the reason is that preev is back.
Yep.

Preev is back so at least i could provide exhcnage services.

But with how things are looking with preev.com, perhaps there's a good chance they might bring back the live price monitoring 🤔

Problem is, they don't seem to be active on bitcointalk anymore.

In any case, we still have other alternatives like preev.net
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 22, 2024, 05:07:38 PM
Of course, it's a bummer when we lose but I think of it as a part of the process. I have never expected, I will always win to begin with -- it's gambling, after all. In addition, I only gamble within my monthly budget so no crying and financial dent when on a losing streak lol.

Personally, I like the anticipation of what will be the result of my bets plus actually winning does make my day lol. This is the fun part for me.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: brazil sanctioned law that taxes online betting in the country on: March 21, 2024, 11:47:38 PM
I'm not against taxes as long as it's not gonna be pocketed and the taxable scenarios as well as the tax percentage are made in respect of each possible cases. Sadly, I don't think this is what's happening here.

But with gambling being stigmatized, I wouldn't be surprised if the goverment think of the high taxes as a morale boost for them. Simultaneously, they're not completely banning the industry so they'll be keeping the usual part of the cash flow from operators  Grin

But in the coming months or year, we'll see how many players will shift to off-shore betting sites lol.
164  Other / Archival / Re: 🚀 Galactix.io | The Cosmos of Crypto Gaming | Explore, Play, & Win Big 🎲 on: March 21, 2024, 11:12:29 PM
That's a pretty stale introduction, OP.

I agree with my fellow members. You can check this thread for a list of graphic designers and campaign managers with their portfolios included, see: Bitcointalk Services from Bitcointalk Members

If you only want a nice infographic for your ANN thread, reaching out to a graphic artist should do, but if you wanna expand your promotion on the forum, I would recommed reaching out to a campaign manager. Campaign managers typically have graphic designers at one call away as well so no need to reach out to an artist if you end up choosing the latter unless you wanna handpick an artist you want.
165  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX terminates services in India, asks users to withdraw funds by April 30 on: March 21, 2024, 09:56:49 PM
I thought that India has 30% of taxes from crypto profits and that means that they're welcoming any development of businesses and services that will happen there. But as I have read some info about this termination of their support and service to their Indian users, one main reason - local regulations.

I actually think of the 30% tax as a part of a soft ban because it's too much of a dent to traders. IIRC, soon after this was imposed, more than half of the volume from their local exchanges went to global exchanges with laxer KYC policies because the locals thought they could circumvent the huge tax imposed on them thru such means.

If the Indian govt is imposing such burden to their local traders, it's safe to assume exchange operators could be experiencing pressures as well. Although the indian market has a great potential, it's just one market out of the many countries global exchanges are serving. In addition, a lot of global exchanges are off-shore businesses that wants laxer policies as much as possible.

In a notice sent to Indian users on March 21, OKX asked users to close their accounts and redeem funds before April 30. The crypto exchange cited local regulatory hurdles as the key reason behind the decision.

BTW, I could not access the article from your link. It's missing an extra 's', see: https://cointelegraph.com/news/okx-terminates-services-india-tells-users-withdraw-funds
166  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Help Out Decentralized Gambling Research - Chance To Win $500 in BTC✨ on: March 21, 2024, 08:43:46 PM
We are happy to announce that the raffle reward has been raised to $500 in BTC!

This is made possible by our new partnership with Dapp Casino (https://dappcasino.io/). Dapp Casino is a specialized platform focusing on the evaluation and ranking of decentralized gambling establishments. The bigger prize will hopefully boost survey participation. This partnership does not impact the content or integrity of this research project.

Congrats on finding a sponsor, op!

BTW, what do you think of splitting the prize pool so more people could win? I think this can be attractive as well since folks will have more chances to win a spot. TBH, even 100 bucks is a pretty sweet deal to me.

You could divide the prize pool equally based on the number of winning spots you want or have a tiered winners where prizes descends e.g. 1st place, 2nd place, etc.
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 20, 2024, 11:49:34 PM
I don't think he is aiming for money here, I'm not a psychologist or something, but from what I'm seeing Bruno Mars might be overwhelmed with all of his success and maybe this is just one way for him to escape. There are a lot of individuals who uses gambling to escape with or without problems. And once they are hook, they get addicted just like the rest of us. So there's no boundaries whatsoever, even famous men are prone to be gambling addicts like Bruno Mars.

Oh yeahhh, because gambling could also make us feel good -- the dopamine, the adrenaline rush. The problem is when people develop a dependency on it.

and I guess it's not surprising that he had a drug addiction as well, see: Bruno Mars Opens Up About His Previous Battle With Drugs

I also think, this is not just about money...

Even the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan as per report says that he has gambling problems too, but he denied that. So that is another sign as well that probably it is true as most addicts doesn't want to admit on it.

Sadly, there is still a lot of stigma surrounding addiction cases so I'm not surprised. Self-awareness is another variable at play too.
168  Other / Off-topic / Re: The more You gamble for money the more You become sad with Gambling on: March 20, 2024, 10:51:36 PM
I'm gonna be honest, whenever I gamble, I would like to hit a nice win lol

However, I try to not go over the maximum amount of money I could spend for the month in question, so even if I lose it all, I'm not gonna cry about it nor it would bring a dent on my financials. After all, it's just a hobby I do on the side. Plus self control makes a huge difference.
169  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: March 20, 2024, 10:11:00 PM
Congratulations, what level of betting were you playing? I'm guessing $0.20 per roll, which would be a good result, 100 times the bet.

You guessed it right. My bankroll was too small so I decided to just do base bets. So for the first game, it's $0.20 and the second game is even lower lol-- $0.10  Grin

With those bets the most I've managed to get by playing slots is around $100, which is pretty good, as it's a 500x.

That's a really big win considering the bet amount. Do you still remember the game? I'd try it next time and see how my luck goes lol.
170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BSV trading in USA on: March 19, 2024, 11:30:40 PM
You likely have to use 2 services for this

1. To convert BSV to any major crypto
2. Once you have any major crypto, you'll have many choices for fiat conversion: either go to a US regulated exchange or to no-kyc exchange like agoradesk.com

For step one, I could suggest:

1. CryptopreneurBrainboss's exchange service on bitcointalk, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5200468.0
2. Find a no mandatory kyc exchange as others have mentioned. Keep in mind that they could still request for an identity verification + you'll likely have to use a paid VPN.

As a last note, make sure you're on official links/handles, don't get phished.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 17, 2024, 10:45:48 PM
Well, thank god he's a very in demand global artist since he still takes home $1.5 million per night after paying his debts with taxes included lol -- it's probably in installment. Plus I'm pretty sure he has other sources of income as well e.g. ads, tours, album, etc.

However, if he doesn't fix his gambling addiction, I wouldn't be surprised if he'll be in a deeper debt that possibly may be more than what he could handle. I hope he gets the help he needs.
172  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: March 17, 2024, 10:23:24 PM
It's not that big of a deal, but I think a max button on withdrawal boxes -- for custodial wallets-- would be a nice quality of life improvement as oppose to copy and pasting when you're trying to withdraw the max amount  Grin

Anyhoo, I had a good sesh today. The results were nice considering my small bankroll-- around 20 bucks lol, and it was fun!

Appreciate the amount of filters on board so I'm closer to finding the types of games I wanted plus the withdrawal that only took a few seconds to reflect to my wallet.
173  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How do I find out if a coin is tainted? Are there lists? Or services that check. on: March 17, 2024, 09:45:18 PM
amlbot.com also can check an address and return a risk score for little to no fee

But because there is no from-a-to-z guidelines or tech that every platform follows in regards to taints, receiving a low risk score does not necessarily mean the client is off the hook. Utlimately, it would depend on how each custodial platform investigate -- they may or may not use amlbot tech and/or use it in combination with other tools so other variables are at play as well.
174  Economy / Gambling / Re: Joya.Casino| Rewarding Casino | Vast Welcome and VIP Bonus| 20% Weekly CashBack on: March 17, 2024, 08:17:05 PM
Honestly, I think we shouldn't be expecting anymore that casinos that will promote here are gonna give us a full non KYC experience. We should see what's happening, government are already monitoring the crypto market, that includes trading sites and casinos as well. So if they could require a trading sites to implement a KYC before they were given a license, of couse the same thing would happen with the gambling sites as most if not all of them claim to have obtain a license.

Once I start seeing the popular slots providers on the list, I'm already 90% sure the casino has the typical kyc/aml polices since I don't think these providers would wanna work with a full non-kyc platform.

But I think there could still be a few gambling platforms out there but we should expect them to be limited like only deploying their own games e.g. l0tt0, 8ombard. But things could change once the platform becomes super well-known.

Gambling dapps are also in the gray line.

176  Economy / Gambling / Re: Joya.Casino| Rewarding Casino | Vast Welcome and VIP Bonus| 20% Weekly CashBack on: March 16, 2024, 11:44:59 PM
If it's not clearly stated on their ToS, then things will keep ambiguis. Even though, they can update the TOS since the same TOS must allows them to make appropriate modifications and updates whenever necessary. Do you know users who review the terms of use, especially if they use the service without problems?
It has become an open trick: platforms offer users tempting and attractive terms of use during launch. Users use the platform for a relatively long time without problems until they are satisfied with the quality of service. Then suddenly problems begin under the pretext of suspicion of possibly tampering with the system or attempting to deceive. All of them are legitimate arguments, and on the basis of them, the argument can be given for updating the TOS. I am here stating my opinion in general, and I do not have specific information about Joya’s situation in particular.

If this is about their TOS, I took a look and it was pretty clear they can ask for identity verification if they deemed so and accounts are constantly monitored.

There are many clauses that talked about this but I'll just quote a snippet

Verification of Your Identity; Money Laundering Requirements

5.2 By agreeing to the Terms of Use You authorize us to undertake any such verification checks from time to time as we may require ourselves or may be required by third parties (including, but not limited to, regulatory bodies) to confirm these facts (the “Checks”). You agree that from time to time, upon our request, You may be required to provide additional details in respect of any of such information You have provided us, including in relation to any deposits which You have made into Your Account.

There's also a dedicated page for kyc/aml policies, see: https://joya.casino/info/kyc-and-aml

Genuine question, is it actually possible to integrate bitcoin on dapps? after bitcoin ordinals, I'm not sure anymore lol.

or were you all talking about pseudo bitcoin in another chain?
178  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: March 16, 2024, 08:51:47 PM
I'm not sure how the forum judge NSFW images, probably it's still fine since it just a lady that wear panties? not full naked or have a sex activity.

It should be fine since Theymos gave an OK to bigbitmine's avatar which IMO is more suggestive, see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=358121

bigbitmine and El Emperador's avatars are fine IMO.
179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: March 16, 2024, 08:10:45 PM
This is one bill that is interesting to follow, gambling is very much legal in our country and many content creators are getting rich creating content about gambling,

and content creators are just the tip of the iceberg. The government is likely earning millions from taxes and fees from gambling operators. Winners from some jackpots may get taxed as well. A full blown ban on promotions will surely hit the industry.

I don't think it will reach this forum, its only for content creators on social medias who have large following,

I guess you have a point with bitcointalk being a non-mainstream platform hence likely won't be on their radar. From a resources to reward ratio perspective, it's such a poor target as well because it doesn't take a genius to know no one, if not, most would be able to pay huge fines.
180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: March 16, 2024, 12:20:11 AM

Any chance this bill will be approved?

And its such a big amount compare to other crimes, the heck Sen Padilla. because this I think will affect Filipinos here in the forum if they proved us to be promoting casinos. I did have a medium account where I wrote  some articles about gambling and added my referral links and I did create a youtube channel for it.

I get where the senator is coming from but it does sound extreme. Being in an early stage, there is likely to be changes about the bill (if approved) as well so I'm expecting it to be laxer.

I also doubt the bill would be retroactive -- means past actions will not be counted because it doesn't sound fair if it's retroactive. Plus, they would need to fine the influencers first so imagine the noise from that community lol.

But I guess this is one of the reasons why I try to stay private on bitcointalk because you never know what happens next.
