501  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] MegaPari Review Campaign Round#3 | Reward $30 on: December 02, 2023, 11:11:20 PM
MegaPari user ID: 739126501

Registration:

I’m not sure if this is important but the link we were instructed to sign up on was flagged by ublock origin (extension recommended a lot in the forum). In case of confusion, I’m only talking about the sign up link on the op and not necessarily the megapari.com domain, see photo:

On to signing up. It was actually recommended to use gmail but fortunately, I had no problems with proton email. They also don’t require a lot of personal info upon sign up, I just went with email + password so that’s plus points. For extra safety, I enabled TOTP 2fa and it went smooth. But instead of google auth, perhaps we can recommend a better app like aegis with far easier backup system?

Deposit:

I went with cryptocurrency for my deposit and as per the ToS, it doesn’t come with a bonus.

At first, I was going for bitcoin but it had 30 bucks minimum deposit amount + it was a legacy deposit address – I would highly recommend replacing this with segwit for cheaper miner fees. Fortunately, Megapari offers a wide variety of deposit methods so I did not get stuck or anything and had other options. I went with LTC and it was credited almost instant.

Games:

I first noticed the wide variety of sports they offered as well as the countries covered. With this many stuff, it could actually be hard to navigate, good thing filters/drag downs helped ease that for me. Perhaps a dark theme so it’s more easy on the eyes as well? Anyhow, the live betting went smooth, got my price after the game ended.

The problem is when I checked “casino” games particularly, fortune rabbit. What happened was, I placed a total of 2 bets and both returned an "error", it would have been fine until I noticed I got debited after a couple of mins. Fortunately, this was just a test and I only did $.60 cents each bet.

So I took this chance to talk to their support. They responded kindly + in timely manner and are looking into it.

I also tried a game in megagames called “Witch: Game of thrones”. I’m glad there was a demo but I think I’d be a plus to add a simple “how-to”. I also noticed some games don’t offer a demo version but perhaps that is the marketing strategy lol.

For the live casino, I suggest adding a filter for english-only games so players could make the list shorter. I’ve looked into the non-english games and I don’t speak a single language so there maybe people like me who are looking for english-only games hence I think this would be a nice quality of life improvement.

Back on topic, I ended up going with monopoly and won a couple of cents. I’ve also no idea if this was a troll or what but thought I should add:

Note: it's a thumbnail, you have to click it!

Withdrawal:

I suggest a bigger withdrawal pop up page so the whole address could fit hence easier to double check if you have the correct address. and perhaps, add the withdrawal fee on the page as well?

Withdrawal test, success!

Conclusion:

On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say 8! Since the website is packed, it’s not that had to find something you’d enjoy which was the case for me. There were some tad bits of hiccups but overall, it was a fun experience.
502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 139btc I'm looking for the owner, it's important! on: November 30, 2023, 11:48:28 PM
Honestly not sure if op is offering a good deal given that the whole process of recovery is honestly complex and uncertain. I'm also not sure how such address would play when who knows how many times it has passed hands.

10% is no small amount... perhaps after the money has been recovered would be an appropriate time to discuss a reward.
503  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Ronaldo Faces $1 Billion Class Action Lawsuit For Promoting Binance!! on: November 30, 2023, 10:38:13 PM
Maybe the US government sees that its citizens buy a lot of Ronaldo's NFTs so it demands a partner. Lol

Even this NFT is not specialized for Binance.US community, right? Why are they taking this action? Strange.

Indeed, there are so many demands on Binance and now dragging Ronaldo for the NFTs he promotes, the SEC just wants to try to make a profit and continue to outsmart anything that can become money. Cheesy

Quick lookup indicates the NFT's were also made available on Binance.US and they could be making an angle with that. Article: https://support.binance.us/hc/en-us/articles/10119442847127-Binance-US-x-Cristiano-Ronaldo-CR7-NFT-Collection

Also, it should be noted that the suit was filed by a few people and not SEC. These people likely just want Ronaldo to shoulder the burden from their bad decisions AKA losses lol.
504  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can we avoid tax on crypto trading in india on: November 30, 2023, 09:38:42 PM
Honestly, the percentage is too high and I wouldn't be surprised if some locals are trading underground, ahem.

But I do wonder how India is tracking these evaders. Because for laws to be effective, it should be properly enforced, no? IIRC there was an article about locals signing up on foreign CEXs to evade taxes. I have not heard anything since then so I've no idea if they were caught and fined.
505  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Treat exchanges the way you treat your casino accounts. on: November 30, 2023, 08:41:15 PM
Whatever the service is, as long as their wallet is fully custodial, then you're not supposed to treat it as a storage. We've seen enough hacks, scams, funds management problems, etc. to know how fragile it is.

Best to go with non-custodial and non-hot wallet for storage  Kiss
506  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Goodbye Philippines for Binance. on: November 30, 2023, 05:57:58 PM
Sounds like Philippine SEC finally remembered to research basic stuff such as licensing after all the recent binance headlines.

3 months is a good time frame but I do hope binance has already started sending out notices both off and on binance for philippine based users. Can anyone shed a light on this?
507  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The fate of mixers. on: November 29, 2023, 11:25:29 PM
Basically why I view them as a service that comes goes -- a lot more often than custodial exchanges.

I'm afraid this trend will continue... since authorities focus a lot on the negative side, completely ignoring those who came for privacy. In addition, didn't some/a govt/s wanted for mixers to register? and most likely implement AML policies as well which essentially breaks the service.

Nevertheless, seeing how new ones are coming up probably means there is a demand for the service.
508  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Are online miner stores on asicminervalue.com trustworthy? on: November 29, 2023, 10:39:23 PM
Welp, even asicminervalue isn't 100% sure of their list so why should you?

All vendor listed are legit?

We try to check vendors to provide the safest links possible, but we cannot guarantee any of them.

You must be aware that all external links are out of our control, and one store may be safe for some users and give one bad experience to another.

All labels and risk estimates are given "as is" based on our experience and feedback from the community.

But yeahh I could imagine some people blind trusting their tested list hence this disclaimer should be on the list as well and not just on the FAQ or... just completely omit the "tested" tags and whatnot, it's not like they add specific supporting info for each yawns.
509  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Now Red 🚨 for Exchange Influencers on: November 29, 2023, 08:39:31 PM
Honestly, influencers should definitely be careful of what they're tryin' to promote but there is something fishy about Ronaldo's case.

Sounds like plaintiffs saw an opportunity to sue the man to cover for their crypto losses lol. They're also seeking 1 billion USD in damages huh? is a bit too much imo.
510  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How could this journey be on: November 28, 2023, 10:44:10 PM
I would also add ways to search threads in the forum as it will absolutely come in handy.

1. through ninjastic.space
2. by appending "site:bitcointalk.org" in your searches using your go to search engine. Btw you could also do it in reddit In case searches through reddit website ain't returning thread you want. There are loads of crypto subreddits as well and stuff like this are commonly covered.
511  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My shoppy.gg payments are stuck on: November 24, 2023, 04:07:38 AM
this services are expensive and not worth.

I switched to another autobuy service like shoppy and there is similar problem, btc isn't coming, wtf?

support told me this:

"After further review, it appears your payout has been delayed due to high cryptocurrency network fees. In order for us to ensure you get the most revenue out of your earnings,
we delay payouts when cryptocurrency fees are higher than usual. Therefore, you can wait for the cryptocurrency network fees to get low (hopefully throughout the week) in order to get paid. "

wtf?? Who else is waiting for weeks to receive the BTC? I don't get what the real issue is.

When the [bitcoin] mempool gets congested af (loads of unconfirmed transaction waiting to be confirmed), miner fees sky rockets which is what has been happening lately. So long as you transact bitcoins + mempool condition remain more or less the same, expect to encounter higher than usual miner fee.

And the bit where the service decided to delay sending your bitcoin earnings is an internal policy of theirs in response to the high miner fees.

513  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex shutting down: What can exchange do differently to avert this trend. on: November 22, 2023, 11:10:18 AM
Perhaps I'm being over the top but I don't view centralized exchanges as something that here's to stay, they will come and go for whatever reason -- that's why as a user, I take some precautions.

But exchanges can however, make some wise decisions to extend their lifespan. For instance, don't go with strict jurisdictions such as US and treat your users with a minimum amount of respect.
514  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: blockchain.com EARN commission 7 % on: November 20, 2023, 06:42:18 PM
You should read more carefully OP's posts, in his second post, he mentioned that he was only interested in stable coins investments because he wasn't looking for volatile investments like Bitcoin leading to severe losses when you need to cash out during bear markets. In addition current rates on this platform are very low for Bitcoin : 0.65% APR, which doesn't cover the risk to leave funds there, neither on any custodial platform to be honest. Currently only 7%+ investments worth it IMO, and you can only find them for stable coins or small cap altcoins right now.

Then don't cash out during the bear market. Before diving into investments, one must setup an emergency fund and all the basic stuff so they're less likely to dip into their investment when it's not harvest time yet.

I did suggest to hold bitcoin in my previous post as an alternative but it was never on anything custodial, much less on blockchain.com. In fact, my post was against that very idea. I'm not gonna repeat why as I've already said so in my previous post.

OP may only be interested in stable coins but who's to say we can't attempt to change their mind with a sound alternative :p

4. https://developer.bitcoin.org/glossary.html (has a focus on technical stuff)

Quote from: op
Where do bitcoin transaction fee goes?

They go to the miners

Quote from: op
Where do wrongly transferred bitcoin goes ? if mistakenly sent to a wrong address can it be recovered? If it lost does it add any value to bitcoin price?

It goes to the address where you mistakenly sent it! it's not exactly "lost" as well as it has just moved to an address where you don't hold the private key hence is inaccessible to you.

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible so it's up to the person on the other end whether they wanna give it back which in most cases, they don't. But fear not because prevention is better than cure.

Perhaps the page has loaded prematurely or something?

I have traveled to places with shit connection and sometimes, some pages do not load properly hence I would see some parts of the website break and I have to refresh -- I'm not primarily talking about bitcointalk but websites I've encountered in general.
519  Economy / Exchanges / Re: "Wmiran Exchange | No AML-KYC Limits" on: November 17, 2023, 09:49:28 PM
The error mentioned has been resolved. Thank you for your attention.

Currently, our website defaults to English, with Russian as the second language.

I thought the same last night as I checked it before going to sleep however, I'm afraid the error has shown up again, same with RU being the default language. I added a gif.

You could also look through merchant directories such as:

1. cryptwerk.com
2. spendbitcoins.com

[keep in mind that not everything listed will be legitimate, watch out for scams]

or look into gift card providers instead, see list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5208530.0
