601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin stability important? on: December 31, 2023, 07:57:10 AM
I think promoting Bitcoin stability is partly a matter of avoiding the Alcoin crisis, major changes in cryptocurrency activity, high inflation and excessive volatility, and the Alcoin market. Volatility can increase uncertainty, hinder investment, hinder growth in Alcocent.
What is your opinion?
Maybe for you it is an obstacle, but for many people who are with bitcoin (crypto), volatility is an investment opportunity. What is there will be multidimensional views about it, stability is not expressed in bitcoin and although many people may wish for it, my thoughts are that it is infinity, and represents the limit of Bitcoin. = bitcoin. Regardless, the reality is that we see bitcoin acceptance growing, but in terms of scale, it is still a very new field or, more frankly, very small in scale compared to other markets. We will have target levels for the future state of the market, and there will be changes in society, so there is no real guarantee of whether in the next 100 years you will see what has changed regarding bitcoin.
602  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are the Western people very apolitical? on: December 31, 2023, 07:48:39 AM
I live in Russia (please note that I support Ukraine). I consider myself as a nerd, prefer talking about science and philosophy on science forums. And I found that the Western science forums are less interesting for me, because they ban for philosophy, politics and new theories (speculation). I was also unable to find interesting English-speaking political forums; and I have also heard that on Reddit it is known that people there who write in English are often not from Europe/USA, but from India or China.
Do you agree with that? Did you notice on this forum, that most nerds here are not from the Western world but from Russia, India and so on? I mean, that people from Russia can show interest to cryptocurrencies just for this interest, while the Western people must have monetary motivation in this to support the cryptocurrencies discussions.
This is very sad if this is true, and I think that the reason is the fact that the Western democracies are mostly not democracies indeed; the ruling elites make the people stupid and apolitical, because overwise the people can think about a revolt.
Not really because I have also come into contact with many people in the West who have a real curiosity for fields that do not always receive much attention, I was very surprised to discover a top university in America with a major in theology, a field that I think is the end of all fields. But we also strongly agree that from the current life perspective, people believe more in empirical things than in things that are still unclear, or simply in a way that completely denies everything that they cannot explain.

As in the field of medicine, things like meridians and acupuncture points are known to have existed for thousands of years in many Eastern cultures, but only in recent years have Western research accepted that they are the truth, and they cannot know exactly how humans can find those things. Yep, in life it is true that there are still many things that we cannot explain. Along with developing and finding new/old things, we should show a more objective spirit towards everything, and not also that it always brings scientific achievements to explain everything. I once read about the book "Journey to the East" perhaps at some point the shift in research will move towards this land where things go beyond scientific explanation and only await acceptance.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there long-term profitable sports bettors? on: December 31, 2023, 07:36:04 AM
I wanted to open a new discussion on this issue. I recently watched a video about gamblers. There was a presenter who helps gambling addicts get out of the dark streak in their lives. He worked in the bookmaking business for many years. He believes that there are no long-term profitable players in sports betting. This is impossible by definition. If you start to win often, the bookmaker company begins to cut your odds, either reduce your winnings or block your accounts. It's as if the bookmaker is telling you, "You're not here to get rich." The presenter claims that he does not know any profitable players over a period of several years. There are rumors that such players allegedly exist. But where are they and who saw them? What do you think? Are there profitable players in sports betting?
It's like there will still be special cases of some people who are considered to have made achievements in this field, but we can't really know where they are and how they achieved it. I can agree that any field will not be for the crowd, but people with skill and luck can get that success, even though I am not the player who gets it but credit otherwise everything is possible, even here you will find such people but do they want to come out to share what they have been through? It is unlikely that some services have statistics on the list of people with regular winning rates, but they may belong to those who have achieved profits in this game.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BRC20.COM a legit project? on: December 30, 2023, 10:53:13 PM
I meant the 7th largest BRC20, not amongst all cryptos. Took this number from dashboard.brc20.com
I know about this cryptocurrency, in your opinion, "what is legality?"

To me it's basically a qualified altcoin listed on some pretty quality exchanges so what more could you want?

The problem with altcoins or similar to bitcoin is that it is recognized without paying attention to the information surrounding it. Although some things are forced, nonetheless, on its scale, it is acceptable to this on the brand name causes attraction.
605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying and Losing My First Bitcoin on: December 30, 2023, 10:46:01 PM
Bitcoin is still completely illegal in my country. I was first introduced to Bitcoin through a friend of mine. I first bought Bitcoin in early 2017. I bought only 25 dollars worth of bitcoins then. The feeling of making the first investment in life was different. Although I wasted that Bitcoin by investing in a third party hype site. I had a hard time losing my first bitcoin.

How did it feel when you first invested in Bitcoin?
$25 is an amount of money that I think is valuable for you to learn something useful. I myself have missed many opportunities and in the past I have seen my own stupidity when I sold bitcoin at too low a price, but until now. Now, after many experiences that I think are quite useful, I have realized that with bitcoin, people always have many opportunities to develop and achieve their goals. There are stupidities that I find quite humorous in myself. I once accidentally transferred bitcoin to an address that did not belong to me and through small mistakes I was able to recover and try more to learn the ever-changing knowledge surrounding bitcoin, from equipping protection skills, analysis, capital management,... yep, remember one thing, we will all taste the taste of the goal for which we have strived.
606  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It will save your capital more than you can imagine on: December 30, 2023, 10:37:59 PM
The truth is that following discipline in trading will help us minimize the risk of liquidating all assets and leave opportunities to recover losses, but honestly most people experience the feeling of daydreaming. The amount of capital may be enough to make them re-establish everything. Only when we receive the liquidation notice email do we see the mistake. Yep, the money will continue, I also had a long time to follow the trend and persist in the bear market period, I also had to pay a lot for that stupidity, and when it changed direction, I also was no more capital to continue. So learning how to manage capital and follow a clear strategy, whether the profits are low or large, requires being ready for loss, and we still have a chance to continue.
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 30, 2023, 10:27:00 PM
I can't imagine that Ten Haag still has a great future at Manchester. Even after the defeat against Nottingham it became clear that the team has a lot of problems and that it is not developing at all. Ten Haag had some time in which the team's underperformance was not so noticeable because the focus was on the club's change of ownership. Now that this has been completed, for me it is only a matter of time before the new owners look for a new coach who can further develop the team. It's a shame to see this performance from a world club like ManU.

The joy from the midweek win didn't last too long, yes we saw them have a sad ending with 2023. There were so many gameplay problems, honestly I always felt like they were like comedians on the field, there were opportunistic situations that were not taken advantage of. Obviously, in the last seconds, if Eriksen's break had been more precise, they could have retained 1 point, but anyway, the result of the match was negative accurately reflects MU's bad play. I also have some speculations that Ten Hag will soon leave the coaching position. Their current performance is unimaginable because the expectations for them from the beginning of the season were quite high.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Too Broke To Own Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2023, 10:20:12 PM
To be honest, I don't really own bitcoins because I do not HODL. I always see myself selling my coins due to one issue or another, possibly because I really cannot afford to live my dream of holing until Bitcoin makes me rich.

In practice, I barely earn more than $3000 from my job, my wife's mortgage, and other demands waiting to snap up the money. Sometimes I sell in a bull market, and other times I sell in a bear market. Would you say that holding BTC isn't for everyone? Am I not too broke to depend on Bitcoin for financial freedom? Yeah, I'm working for my financial independence, but Bitcoin has remained a peripheral component of that plan. Only if I can HODL for a few years.

Do you comfortably HODL? 300% is quite a lot. 1000% for me is a dream.
Prejudice from your own understanding makes you doubt your own abilities. I don't think there are any limits in life, you don't have to force yourself to approach something you eligible yet. Do you have a job that brings you income, and are you willing to spend 5 -10% of your spending to buy bitcoin every month, and accumulate it for 5 or even 10 years... and learn again "what is investing?" The term can be easily searched, but when asked, not many people can understand its basic content, and many people like to play a game without understanding what it is about. This time, how you understand bitcoin will reflect your goals and how you seek opportunities with it.

If you hear about ways to own bitcoin without spending money to buy it, that is an opportunity that you can research for yourself and it is certainly not easy if you are not ready. And one thing I realized in life is that before you want to eat a sweet fruit, think about how to grow it.
609  Other / Archival / Re: Generational wealth on: December 30, 2023, 10:11:40 PM
What would be your advice for a pharmacist hoping to create generational wealth in the pharmaceutical industry

The suggestion according to my understanding is that any traditional profession should have harmony with social changes. Not sure about OP's ability in this field, but I have some thoughts about Recognizing trends in data access in society. If you are in the pharmaceutical business, think about building a personal brand for the products you focus or some of the jobs that I have heard about in terms of dignity can apply education to disseminate knowledge to the community. I know that this field requires an extremely responsible attitude because it serves many people in society, and if you are dedicated enough, sharing what you know with everyone will create greater material value, but if you really just stop talking about how to become rich. If so, please check out more businesses working in this field.
610  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How important is Traditional Education on Children in the World on: December 30, 2023, 09:59:07 PM
The educational process always changes with the changes of society, from awareness to life perspective all change and people are forced to adapt to existing things. Looking from a small-scale perspective on the family's responsibility, intervention from the previous generation will partly guide cognitive development and there will be prejudices that exist throughout social prejudice, openness in modern culture can all bring out different aspects of life. I can describe something as real as whether knowledge is there and whether we can access it or not, like how the goal of life can be seen through awareness and how we achieve it there are many routes. I'm not sure if it's the same in other places, but I always appreciate that moral education is the foundation for us to develop many other aspects of life, but ironically the current context makes life easier. Forcing too many things gives us choices that I see as traps, overemphasizing material things, promoting personal ego,... as a delusion that makes us get stuck in life itself.
611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich, average or poor. Who loses more? on: December 30, 2023, 03:30:44 PM
Is this not contradictory? I am not rich and I gamble and lose more. The same story by many rich people. People said you can not win the house. If more people are registered on a casino or a bookie site, the owner of the site will be happy. Because they know they will have more workers and be able to pay them as they will earn more. If you deposit huge amount, the more the happiness because the house would win at last. This is not about rich or poor. And this only shows more that the rich are likely to lose more.

So why are people contacting themselves. They will say the house would win because of house edge. Now they are also saying the rich would win than the poor. Is it not the others way around that the more the rich spend on gambling, the more the money the rich will eventually lose.
Anyway, the players will be the losers because in this field only developers are dominant, so I think the difference is not an issue that we have to calculate. There may be specific circumstances of the player and each person's own capital management, but with gambling this field shows that profits do not come from the balance between winning and losing fees, but the players themselves. After that, they were strong enough to collect everyone's entire bet.

I also think of some documented cases in capital management of the superiority of the rich, but to be fair, being rich or poor does not fully indicate the player's wisdom in the field of gambling, because we are people gambling is a tool to make money.
612  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How is an ordinary person's week going in your country? on: December 30, 2023, 10:14:26 AM
Currently, I am living in a Southeast Asian country (sorry for not being able to share the location more specifically), I have many friends here in many fields, and we have different habits always similar. I myself currently do not have a specific job, because I still just stay at home and occasionally travel locally and return to the house. Basically, I live without any constraints. There are days when I stay up at night and sleep during the day without paying attention to time. I also have long periods of stress and don't like to continue. Being in contact with many people, I like being closer to nature, which is why I decided to quit my job in the city to move to rural areas and even remote mountains and forests.

But I also know about a few basic living errors that still persist from before, mostly I see people (workers and students) waking up around 6 am and preparing to have breakfast to go to work at 7 am, around 11am everyone has time to rest, and then resume all activities at 1pm until 5pm. Prepare dinner and most people will finish it around 7pm, although depending on the family it might be watching the news or movies, or maybe going to bed early. I think that's the general schedule that most people use where I live. I'm the only exception because I don't like going to work and just stay at home reading books, listening to music, and painting Smiley .
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: December 30, 2023, 09:51:21 AM
Every story you tell someone can either be a motivation or something to get them depressed. I have been thinking about this and I'd like to pass this advice to every serious gambler in this platform who has won a substantial amount of money from gambling, not to share their success story about winning to everyone and in every place. You do not know the story of every gambler, and on the face some gamblers may just look alright but in deep down they are in debt, some depressed due to addiction to gambling that is destroying them and has made them plan to quit. Your success story when shared indiscriminately may trigger and motivate this addicted gambler battling to stop to want to keep gambling, having the believe that their time is close. Be careful who and where you talk about your success in gambling, you may just be encouraging an addicted gambler to continue.
I understand the problem of people being easily manipulated by greed to manipulate their emotions, giving someone a vague belief is like destroying them, being realistic about helping and every outcome is not easy it is the real. There may be many stories in life like someone's success in a field where they don't know that their hard work pays for it but failure is rarely mentioned, so I feel satisfied. When I hear anything about a formula for success, I have my own way of evaluating these issues and looking at what people around them are enjoying from that perspective. So trust does not always apply to any source, just verify it yourself and go back and see the truth to what extent.
614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana Altcoin Gems still appearing. on: December 30, 2023, 08:48:14 AM
The Helium thing is surely enticing knowing that they're offering what? $20(if I remember correctly) a month for unlimited data? That's like super cheap, especially in the United States. Though I haven't dug deep enough to know what the 'catch' is. There should at least be some downside.
I think OP is talking about this: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/helium-mobile

I don't know about it either, maybe it's in the same Helium ecosystem, but at first glance it seems like it just received a big pump, and from the experience that I know, when the price has increased rapidly, people will pay attention to technology, or features that are surrounding hype.

Although not sure if OP has made a profit with this, what are your thoughts on GEM.

lol. Thank you for the warm welcome and excellent responses. I truly appreciate it.

I am fine with the $2.5K I am planning on spending on buying a positive coin but need the "Support" or guidance from this community (to begin with) on how and when to maximize the return like we all see and hear I suppose.

I don't want you to dream too much about profits, but learn all the basic knowledge about this market first.

From the perspective of money, investment, economic finance, bitcoin, altcoin, what is decentralization?, what is centralization?, ways to use services in the space,... there is a lot of knowledge that you need to upgrade yourself so you don't depend on anyone. Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable in the future
Though have been in the crypto space for quite some time now, I knew little about crypto. A friend of mine just introduced me to real estate investment.
Which one should I go for with a capital less than $2500?

You should re-educate yourself about investing, I think the view can confuse gambling and investing. Are you ready to lose that $2500, ask yourself how you can expect to profit with your ability. It needs to be realistic and not just dream about profits.

I don't have specific data for each field, but I can express that each field has its own potential/risk, and if you balance the factors that you are ready for, then think about your own responsibilities.

It can be said that in this space many people will advocate investing in cryptocurrency, but I have to be honest it is both easy and difficult, theory without practice is not convincing, with people who have not had the same experience as you are willing to trust what people say. And with real estate, depending on your local area, it also requires a lot of research, because if it's an economically developed country and you intend to invest in real estate, I don't think so. Knowing the direction you want to choose in terms of assets such as houses, plots of land,... is almost impossible, but in the field of real estate, there are many other challenges not only in terms of assets but also in the developing market system. To develop marketing, I think that capital will completely help you become a broker.

But anyway, every field has its own problems, and investors also have their problems, and I recommend that you invest in knowledge before thinking about the opportunity to get rich.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The general public still doesn't understand Bitcoin is still growing on: December 30, 2023, 08:18:47 AM
Through the way you describe, I feel the linearity from the author you mentioned, the crypto market brings attention and doubt through each stage to those who don't really care much about the operation. Since the day I learned about Bitcoin as well as crypto, I have always felt its growing development process, but I can be frank, but there are not many people who realize the potential and accompany the market. It's true that they really don't understand it, maybe because it's easy to own, they just think it's simply a profit-seeking application that comes with surrounding news like an attachment. I also have a feeling that adoption is growing in scale, which can be expected from the perception of participants being influenced by the legitimacy that, according to confirmation from the government, our knowledge of the market. This and seeing the opportunity with it can be seen as a priority for those who come first. Although is not too confident to confirm that it is completely good, I will accept the fact that I believe bitcoin will be very big in the future.
618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's Your Feeling After You Finish Gambling. on: December 30, 2023, 08:08:42 AM
Just like you're describing the emotions when we gamble, it's like a roller coaster. And I have to be honest that I feel satisfied with those experiences, not because I don't know the feelings of tension/excitement from games, but it seems that being aware of how to play always makes me happy.
I'm quite lucky when it comes to gambling, my friends who often play cards together I see that they care about winning and losing, I simply think the game is more fun. If we like to make money we can discuss another area, so it can be said that with gambling there are many emotions that we use to see ourselves through it.

there's no doubt that in gambling we will experience a lot of emotions, most of the times, it is a mix of those mentioned by the OP. but if you are losing and the money you are using is just a loaned money, for sure, the emotion would be on the negative side. and you are in a rush to recover those losses, leading to possible more losses and loaned money. that's when a gambler can get addicted because he has other things in mind like chasing losses for him to pay for his debts. but it will just go on and on, up until he can't get out of the situation anymore.

but if you are playing using your spare funds and stopping once you got busted, i can say that for sure you have your blast in your games. because you are enjoying the game because you have no worries that someone is after you to collect your debts. i guess, that's a better feeling than chasing losses because somebody is calling you to get their money, right?

these days, as i am just playing on occasional basis, only if i have extra funds, i would say, i am only enjoying the games til it last. so for me, i can see the positive side of gambling because if you are not pressured to get the funds back, i believe, you will enjoy your gambling session. so long you know when to stop and quit for the day.

That is the problem when we imagine risky situations, each person's responsibility is not simply each decision in work, game,... but it is also expressed through each action whether being the smallest will also reflect the results. I'm not the type of person who likes to put close friends in situations like you mentioned, but I also agree that it's completely true, because I was also born in an environment where family members are people who are addicted to gambling, but having to mortgage their house and land makes life stressful, which is why I don't want to be like them. But I also don't want to be strict about gambling, so my level of understanding is just one of the tools that we can utilize to have fun, manage money, manage emotions, game analysis, etc. is just redundant for me in this field but it may be true for others, because as I said from the beginning, I don't rely on this field to make money.
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 08:55:15 PM
Questions like this has popped out in several occasions and arguments concerning Bitcoin investment. My friends will say you must lose before you gain or rather have more experience investing in Bitcoin. If its how it work, Bitcoin isn't for a low income earner as well as not gonna make you rich when you can't invest something tangible to it. On the other hand people are been made big and wealthy in same program. What does it in tell, cos am quite sure people had already known what's going to happen in the market in the nearest future to give them the strong mindset to invest porously. My biggest fear is losing my hard earn to something as volatile, vulnerable and uncertain as btc. What's the possibility you invest without losing. Is it guaranteed in this kinda market?
I can imagine starting over with understanding "what is investing?"

Whether it's bitcoin or other things, they will still have potential and risks in the process we are exposed to one person's formula is not always correct for the majority, so you just experiment and see what reflects on you. I know there are very lucky cases, but it is not a plurality and maybe, OP can also be lucky people, but more realistically, if you do not have knowledge and skills in this market you will be at a disadvantage many risks. Doubts will gradually dispel as you experience many feelings in this area, but always remember that a decision is yours and you need to be responsible for it.

620  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you see young girls who engage into prostitution on: December 29, 2023, 08:46:16 PM
I once talked to a girl whose job was sugarbaby. Like many people, I initially had an unfavorable view of that job. But when we talked to understand better, I learned that the girl's life situation was quite complicated. She was from a poor family with many people, she had to earn her own money to go to school and provide for her family. Although she herself admitted that she did not want to do that job, her living situation was not enough for her to live according to her wishes. I'm not someone who likes to be skeptical about other people's stories, so even the truth of that story can help me imagine that many similar cases exist. There are things that are truly associated with morally corrupt behavior, but there are also things that we must truly see the pitifulness of in life. After all, this is one of the many nuances of life, as long as they feel comfortable with those things.
