Well, if you want a refund apparently I found a fast method-

Go over to their forums, start a thread entitled "Your customer service sucks" outlining how you went through proper channels at first to resolve your issues (simple shipping address change in my case) and didn't hear anything back for weeks.

Tell the first BFL fanboy to get in your face for questioning their all knowing and infallible overlords to "suck Josh's scammer dick more"

Once banned, head over to their Facebook and ask them politely "where is my money you fucks..."

Then send another email to customer service calmly explaining I would be posting a thread entitled "BFL IS A SCAM" on every forum I could find until I get my money back.

Just got:

Hi Adam,

The referenced order has been canceled, you will receive a refund through PayPal within 5 business days. Thank you for your business.

Best Wishes,
Abbey
BF Labs, Inc.

Sure, I could have been more mature about it, but this is not a mature company either when it comes to their business practices and helping their customers with legitimate problems.  It did become my mission after a point to simply be as disruptive as I needed to be to get my money back from these scamming cheats and liars immediatly. Mission accomplished. Sometimes you have to fight the dirty with dirt.

Ill be giving my funds to the likes of ASICMiner or someone else that actually deserves it instead.

Fuck you Inaba, your company is garbage and I will be making sure the world knows it too.

Maybe consider filing an FTC complaint as well.

This may be of interest to you: http://business.ftc.gov/documents/alt051-selling-internet-prompt-delivery-rules

Complaint form: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

I will happily do so, might stop by the BBB as well.

I just tried filing a resolution with PayPal but it was instantly closed, too long since the initial transaction I guess?

So BFL has my money and apparently won't give it back. I will give it some more time but I might just be screwed here.

I can't imagine the cops face when busting in on what they think might be the pot bust of the year only to find a miner and his giant computer Grin
1344  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I was just banned from BFL forums on: May 23, 2013, 04:30:34 PM
Yeah I reversed Paypal before it was too late, can't trust a business that treats customers terribly.

I'm looking into my options for a reverse charge, all I can do at this point I suppose.

Anyone else astounded by the fanboyism over there? Must be inner circle or just 100% delusional because they hold order #1-10 or something
1345  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I was just banned from BFL forums on: May 23, 2013, 04:15:33 PM
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

1346  Bitcoin / Mining / I was just banned from BFL forums on: May 23, 2013, 04:05:14 PM
Just happened. True Story

I helpfully pointed out how their customer service sucks with links to the many threads here pointing out the distain and campaign to rid Bitcointalk of their ads and such. *edit* yes I probably could have handled it with a bit more tact, I admit.  But I'm trying to speak for the community and try and get BFL_Josh to answer for his companies' crimes.

I asked for a change of address through email, 2 weeks in I finally got a reply after starting my thread, a week after I hit them back still no change to my shipping address as Jally's "fly" out the door.

Asked for a refund. No answer.

Now I am apparently now banned with a time limit of "Never"

I guess Ill not be getting my money back, or my order is being sent to the wrong place?

It is now my vendetta to lose them as much business as I can. So good job turning a potential customer into a sworn enemy. I will get my order money back in lost orders for you.

Where is my money you bastards?

I call for a full on mutiny, enough is enough. These people are a pimple on the ass of this industry and needs to be cleansed.
1347  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Scam Alert Thread on: May 23, 2013, 03:15:02 AM

It is good there are more than just me putting together this information in a clearer way. Would you maybe be interested in working with me on CoinCanary?

Sounds interesting!  What is your vision for the site?

Ill PM you

1348  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty is going own? BTC and LTC? on: May 23, 2013, 03:06:21 AM
We'll see this do some funny stuff I think.

Mining is leaving the world as a hobby and stepping into a serious business with a serious investment and competition. We'll see who is serious enough to stay in, those that won't will retire/sell their rigs. In the face of ASIC all bitcoiners are separating this way now.
1349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BlockBurner - Crucible FPGA Scrypt Miner - Answering the Call on: May 23, 2013, 02:58:13 AM
I think it is way early to worry about anyone trying a 51% attack, as that would entail a single person or entity controlling over half of all available hashpower. In addition to all of the GPU rigs currently out there, we would be adding a new wave of hardware on top of it to a diverse pool of people. I don't think it's worth worrying about at all. FPGAs will strengthen the network with something better and much more efficient, in a way we're just part of a natural upgrade to something beyond hobbyist hardware.

Unless someone makes a $10,000,000 order....I don't think we have to worry lol. Though that would be pretty cool  Shocked Grin

Remember that these market caps are still microscopic in terms of the worlds GDP, assuming adoption starts to explode someday GPU rigs simply won't cut it as the backbone of a new "banking" industry because they just cannot scale after a point and remain viable. Difficulty will be extremely high the bigger the network gets. The only thing saving profitability are the coins themselves continuing to gain value in parallel to total network hashpower. Hashing is about to become some big, serious business, as will creating the devices we need to support this industry.

Jasinlee is correct, we will be going through several optimizations and a lot of testing ourselves. These are the first Scrypt specific devices, so it will take some fine tuning to get every last drop of performance out of them and ready them for production.

1350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BlockBurner - Crucible FPGA Scrypt Miner - Answering the Call on: May 22, 2013, 09:06:53 PM
ASIC for Scrypt is a long ways off, and Scrypt is more resistant to ASICs anyway so we'll see.

If you can do scrypt with an FPGA efficient you can do the same with ASICs. It's only a question of the minimal volume you have to produce/sell.

Unfortunately this is true. You should keep asic on the table even if its cost prohibitive you would want to plan for 2 years away.

Definitely. In the progression of things FPGA is just the next logical step for Scrypt as GPUs get cost prohibitive with the growth of the whole network. ASIC Scrypt will come someday but will probably be a little while yet as FPGAs are just hitting the table, as they once did for SHA machines. Or maybe by then something better will come along, who knows  Cool
1351  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: May 22, 2013, 07:21:44 PM
To put it a simple way:

If your money is in a bank, it is no longer your money, it is the bank's and they may do whatever they damn well please with it. Banks are above the law, they answer to literally no one.
1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BlockBurner - Crucible FPGA Scrypt Miner - Answering the Call on: May 22, 2013, 06:48:48 PM
While it seems like an awesome idea...

No on all accounts.

Leave gpu scripting alone. Exploit another cryptoBTC currency. Script mining was damn near created to avoid fpga and asic.

Trying to hold back technology advances for [insert reason] has never worked out well in the past for those trying hold it back.  An example of this is the horse buggy vs automobile transition.  Progress will be made and we will need to move on.  It may not be today or tomorrow but change will happen.  Embracing that change puts us in a better position.  I personally do have some $$ invested into GPU mining but am aware that I need to stay abreast of new technology or risk falling behind.

Not saying I am happy/thrilled about change, but fighting it is almost always wasted effort.

This is just the natural progression. Eventually difficulty hits a height in GPU power that it becomes very difficult to scale to stay profitable with ever hungry GPUs that also put out an insane amount of heat. There is no choice but to move on to something else that is more efficient and/or more powerful.

ASIC for Scrypt is a long ways off, and Scrypt is more resistant to ASICs anyway so we'll see.

Sorry mrkubanftw, this is happening Grin
1353  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Scam Alert Thread on: May 22, 2013, 03:57:19 PM

You are so full of shit GPURigs. Enjoy red status for all of your "mockups" and the fact your websites are taking BTC for products that don't exist. Show us something real now or go away.

Even if you are for real, which I severely doubt at this point, we would rather you post nothing than total fabrications just to make it seem like you have something.

Feel free to actually remove us from your list... See the press release below...

Wednesday 22nd May, 2013.
For Immediate Release.

ASIC Rigs, a privately owned and operated bitcoin mining device company, is pleased to announce that we have received, tested and confirmed that our stylish AR2 bitcoin mining device works to specification and is on track for completion by the middle of July 2013.

In addition, it has further been decided that effective immediately, given the results we have seen from the device tested in-house, ASIC Rigs will be withdrawing all of their asic mining devices from the open market place and concentrating our efforts on in-house asic mining only for the immediate future. What this mean in layman's terms is that we will no longer be selling our ASIC Rigs mining devices to the general public and our website will reflect this change shortly.

"With the hash rates we have seen from our testing device, coupled with the fact that bitcoin values appear to have stabilized, as a company it would be remiss of us not to seize the opportunity to utilize this technology for our own purposes" says the company founder and CEO.

Despite withdrawing our ASIC Rigs mining products from the open market, the company remains strong in their efforts to support the general bitcoin mining community and will offer customers who have already paid for their ASIC Rigs mining device the option of order fulfillment as originally planned or, a full refund of their payment.

We appreciate all of the support we have received over the past few months as we have been working to source, construct and fulfill interest in our product lines and would like to thank those of you whom have stood steadfast behind our company, despite much speculation from several individuals within the mining community as to the integrity of our company, with your continued support we look forward to growing as a company and the future growth of bitcoin as a viable alternative to standardized currency.

Please direct all requests for further information by email to support@asicrigs.com or see our Facebook page for more information on our companies growth over the coming months.

Withdrawing what miners? Those ones you never showed us a working version of ever? Not only will you not be coming off my list, I will be advocating that people stay away from your scammy "business"

Who is your CEO, and WHO ARE YOU for that matter?

I had the respect for the community to post my details quite publicly

Lets see it. This press release is cute but ultimately means nothing, it is just words.
1354  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: using hardware to crack wpa for money on: May 22, 2013, 01:19:41 PM
What you propose is fraudulent and illegal, begone!

Er..probably should have responded when I was fully awake enough to read OP...

But it seems the need for GPU rigs is still present as ever, they can always be relegated to the lesser coins of which there are several.
1355  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Scam Alert Thread on: May 22, 2013, 06:53:45 AM
I have answered another thread about our company website http://www.asicrigs.com in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=169969.0 please feel free to continue posting any questions, concerns or comments you have in there (so that I can keep track of feedback and answer your concerns in a timely manner).

Thank you.

Here's my question. This is the image you used on your facebook page:
http://www.fujitsu.com/us/news/pr/fsa_20121031.html

Start explaining.

It has already been explained numerous times IN THIS THREAD.

The images we are using on the site and our FB page presently are just mockups. Why you people can't read responses to questions that have already been answered before asking them again is beyond comprehension.

We're going to be posting another announcement tomorrow (hopefully, if we get all the specifics written in time) along with some other stuff that should make many in the mining community happy Cheesy

You are so full of shit GPURigs. Enjoy red status for all of your "mockups" and the fact your websites are taking BTC for products that don't exist. Show us something real now or go away.

Great resource, I can see I have a lot to learn!  Smiley  Wish I knew about this when I was making my chart.

asicminer.com link isn't working anymore..  maybe it's just offline atm, I think I was there yesterday

It is good there are more than just me putting together this information in a clearer way. Would you maybe be interested in working with me on CoinCanary?
1356  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Another ASIC company[Could be a scam?] on: May 22, 2013, 06:44:37 AM
I'm putting you on Red status GPURigs/Asics.

It is obvious you either-

1. Don't have your shit together as a business or
2. Are in fact some kind of scammer posting fake images and accepting Bitcoin on your site as payment outside of escrow. This is fraudulent

I'm also 100% convinced GXMining.com is also yours, by look and feel alone you cannot tell me this is not related to GPURIgs/ASICRigs. I have asked you before about that one and so far I have not seen any answer from you either way about this site to confirm or deny. It has nearly the exact same "mockups" on it.

And BTW a mockup is a representation of an idea for an original design, not taking a picture of another vendor's gear and erasing the details in Photoshop.

Fish as hell, don't send these clowns anything.
1357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto Found ~ Introducing the CMG on: May 20, 2013, 12:31:50 PM
I'd prefer this version of who Shatoshi Nakamoto is

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emDJTGTrEm0

Check it out...

The speaker discribes Shinichi Mochizuki

http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2013/05/19/ted-nelson-says-that-bitcons-satoshi-nakamoto-is-shinichi-mochizuki/

This guy actually does sound like a real candidate. I assumed either Satoshi was a genius, or a group of very good engineers.
1358  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASX Project on: May 20, 2013, 04:13:44 AM
what i don't get is why people still might think kncminer is legit

Well they are now down to 7 units as of 8pm 5/19/2013

Unlike KNCminer  the ASXProject admins still do not have SSL verification cert on their site however they claim to be working towards it.

Last I checked they are no longer processing payments with Bitpay.

I along with others truly hope that these claims are real.

However caution is needed here.

This means nothing without direct proof that their devices actually exist and work. It would take me about 20 minutes to set up a cart with a "product" with an inventory counter.

Dont send your money until there is proof
1359  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Received BFL Jalapeņo Today! on: May 20, 2013, 01:41:02 AM
There is a lot of clear bias between the earliest buyers and the later ones that came in as this new information on their scammy personal pasts came out into the open. They are the first to defend BFL.

Could even be denial? If I had $1000s into them I might be too...
1360  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 20, 2013, 01:35:33 AM
I am still waiting on my miner, it has been a month now without any replies to my email... I sent 200 btc and was promised express shipping.

Please answer my emails CedarTec.

Did you really send them 200 BTC?

You should probably start accepting you will never see it again now...

Why do you say that?

Read the last 52 pages of this thread and ask again. They are an obvious scam  Undecided
