141  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 22, 2024, 08:10:47 PM
The ways of earning and living for young people have changed drastically since we moved from the agriculture(field) era to the technological( Internet money) era. Many young people are willing to sit at home waiting for a freelance job rather than going out to work for someone and getting paid little shillings. Research has proven that the rate at which people quit working in traditional industries has increased, perhaps they have found an online skill or a way to offer their services with high flexibility.

Link to complete Chart

The concern is very alarming this is because if limited young ones are willing to work in these traditional structures (Oil, Agriculture, manufacturing, etc.) how will they grow? The Gen Z workers (that is people born between 1997 - 2012) were the first to prioritize flexibility, personal well-being, and as well as intelligent usage. Of course, the internet money is way higher than low-paying jobs in those sectors, they can either choose to start their own social media accounts that would endorse them or pursue freelance work rather than entering the traditional workforce.

So if there is a way to create balance and bring more young people to have interest in the traditional workforce what would you think of? I was thinking that increasing minimum wages and granting more benefits like health, rent to mention a few would help

Do you know why? because they see or watch a lot of hooked videos about having freelance/online jobs that can earn a lot of money, and usually even those from the provinces dream of going to the city to find a job where in fact, there is a lot of manpower works are waiting for their place but we can't blame the generation now, because they are more aware of the truth, like here in our country, when you are a farmer, you are poor. The government doesn't support you anymore, you're going to be robbed, so who wants to stay in that kind of job or career, right?

142  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: April 22, 2024, 11:22:49 AM
With central banks struggling to keep inflation under control, people are beginning to lose trust in the traditional financial system. Some politicians (eg: Javier Milei) even suggested to abolish central banks as they're the main cause of the world's economic problems.

If the global economy continues to deteriorate, do you think central banks will collapse? If that happens, it will be the end of Fiat for good. In such a scenario, do you think Bitcoin will become the currency of the world?

What's your opinion? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

I don't think central banks will collapse even if economy are experiencing downfall because banks is the main source of storing and producing money as their savings and investments and majority of people are using bank, especially nowadays that everything is in digital usage, online banking is essential so I think it's unlikely to happen because it will cost too much negative effect to everyone.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: April 22, 2024, 10:22:21 AM
Well it may be that being tired can impact you in the decision you make in gambling yet I think there is not a big of a problem making your bets when you are tired if you already knew what to bet before you became tired.I don't think that being tired can impact your gambling habits like it can impact you in real life if you do things while tired the room for marginal and non marginal errors are simply to high and it reduces your performance in any job you can do yet in gambling as I said I don't see it impacting the person that much.I personally have gambled when I was tired as I have been playing since 6 Pm to over 12 Am many times and I have had my big wins when I was near falling asleep during that 12 Am time so for me in gambling being tired doesn't really mean anything or that it can impact you a lot.
The lack of sleep can impact your ability to think clearly in the same way alcohol can affect you, so it can be a very big deal to not sleep properly, and since many people that gamble at physical casinos have a few drinks to let loose, it is easy to imagine how much their ability to think rationally is affected, which could lead them to commit several mistakes and as a consequence they may chase their losses, making them to commit even more mistakes.

I really agree with you, even though we are tired from work and lack of sleep, we should not gamble because these two things have a big influence on gambling. We should be able to focus on playing, but instead we make more mistakes because of fatigue which makes us not optimal at gambling. And it would be better if we feel tired and our mind is unstable, it is better to relax and not force ourselves to gamble because it will be a disaster for us later.

The best way to do when you're tired is to get some rest and relax your mind so you have a reset mind once you're doing gambling. If you're tired and you still continue in betting, it may possibly leads you to a bigger problem or huge loss. Proven and tested because some gambling addicts are experiencing the same situation, they even lose more rather than winning because their mind is exhausted as well as their body.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 22, 2024, 08:52:49 AM
Have you notice? In the streaming community, the influence of gambling is getting worse. Have you noticed that many streamers have started to stream gambling and promote it? Sad, but it's the reality. I'm noticing that the streamers I'd used to watch because of their gaming contents and also streams that they do while gaming are fading; they are focusing on and promoting gambling platforms, and the alarming thing is that those streamers used to have young viewers who also played the games they were streaming, and suddenly they left it all out and changed what they streamed, which was gambling.

I don't blame them, but the thing is, they sell their dignity in order to promote gambling, maybe because the offer is too good for them to refuse, but the concept of them abandoning their dignity and ignoring the fact that they could have a bad influence on their viewers, even if they put a warning about being responsible in gambling, the thing is, people or viewers will for sure be attracted if they see the streamers getting or winning too much money. And the theory is that, what if the money or account they are using is not their money or account? Is it an account from the gambling platform that they let the streamers use in order to promote the platform? I can't ignore the fact that a theory might be possible. Anyway, what do you think? or can you say about this streamer transitioning to streamers whose content is gambling? Feel free to share your insights.

Yeah, I noticed that too, like majority of the streamers nowadays is promoting gambling at the end of their live session but I understand if some of them are accepting the offer because streaming is their main source of income and having an opportunity that offers a huge compensation is such a huge blessing to them even if promoting gambling is indecent for some viewers. Maybe having a disclaimer is the best thing to do but we can't control people who watched their stream but it could lessen the probability of reaching the live to those minors if they set up an age restriction for their viewers. I have this speculations since then that some streamers are using a set up account so that once they do live streaming, it only shows pure winnings when they promoting the gambling but this is an speculations only, it's still not proven.
145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What the Heck Do Gamblers Mean By this Phrase on: April 22, 2024, 06:53:24 AM
Basically it means that the cards are running good for you.  Like in poker when the cards are flowing, means you have been winning alot playing any 2 cards.

Thank you for providing the meaning. I was actually going to ask someone because I don't know either what card flow means in gambling. I am only hearing this today and nice I saw the meaning from your comment.

Tbh, it's a popular line or qoute of some veteran gamblers here in our country which is I think the real meaning is they are having a good flow or pattern of winning cards and it's a good thing for them to continue on what they are doing because it can lead them to more winnings. There are so many simple  qoutes about positive outcome in gambling with a deep meaning.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: April 22, 2024, 04:54:44 AM
Personally , I tend to check forebet to see what AI predicts on some certain games but when it comes to so called "experts" I really cannot trust them because as soon as I see a betting company sponsoring him , I know for sure that at least 1 game will be fishy and he will give bad predictions for that game. That being sad , I think it's really bad to believe them or even worse , pay to see a ticket they've made just to lose both the money you gave him and also the betting money for that ticket.  Undecided

Well this can happen in many ways, because first of all I don't trust AI and I don't trust what they can do to be able to Generate forms of prediction that are better than machines, in fact I dare to think that I trust even more in the groups of those who are on telegram that entry is free but the predictions are based on what a human analysis does, that is why I have always said that human prediction is even better than any AI or supercomputer, humans still see things, details that Not a machine or an AI , we evaluate human capacity and we Know what can happen to an event X, and what the reaction of a particular person may be like.

Human analysis and prediction is way way better than the AI because there's no proof or data that shows 100% ability of AI to distinguish or predict the exact things that will happen that's why I don'r really rely my answers in computers prediction not unless they will release a Data analysis and 100% results about this matter. For now, I only consider personal/human predictions because many gamblers has been accomplished many things and winnings because of personal prediction and analysis.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: April 22, 2024, 04:08:42 AM
Good for him; he was able to use the money to give the family something and settle some financial needs, even though he bought things that were not necessary.

People who are close to him should try and advise him to take the right steps and avoid gambling for the main time. Let it be that it's still part of the winning that was lost back to gambling before it gets to a point where he might end up borrowing just to fulfil his gambling desire.
Money will run out if it is not used in the right place and buying things that are not needed is something that gamblers often do. The money we earn in gambling is usually easier to spend and very rarely do people have the control to buy something they need. People consider money in gambling to be hot so it is easier to spend it in uncertain places and it is very difficult for them to use the money in more productive places.

Advising people involved in gambling is not easy because they have their own understanding in assessing gambling. But there is no harm in giving advice as long as they have a friendly or fraternal relationship. About taking out a loan to gamble is a big mistake and if he does that it means he is starting to get addicted to gambling.

That's what I've always said, It's quite hard to give an advice to other people especially to a gambler because gamblers have their own rules in life and even if we advice them what's good for them, they will not follow that because some gamblers is in the point of their life that the only thing they will do is to follow their own intrusive thoughts. When it comes to spending money, it's easy for a gambler to waste money on things that aren't that important because they already have it in their mind that the money they spend is something they can easily get because of gambling but of course we shouldn't have that mindset because it's not we always win, right?
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 10:08:41 AM
A lot of social media influencers especially bloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their blogs or videos.
I could see a huge contribution and spread of information that they made especially during this time where the majority are using smartphones already. In fact, we've been seeing a massive increase in gamblers and online gambling sites. But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?

this is one of the viral issues here in our country because some youtubers/ influencers are doing Mommy/Child parenting vlog wherein their contents are for kids but at the end of the video, there's a 1 minute video promotion about gambling, yes, they have a disclaimers but we all know that we can't control a viewers actions so vloggers should be aware of the impact that may affect their viewers especially that there's a kids or minor who watched their videos. Parents should limit their children in using social media as well because there's a lot of restricted videos going viral nowadays.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can people still get the addictive nature through friendly games on: April 21, 2024, 08:10:54 AM
It is possible. Remember that a gamblers addiction starts with something, so it is possible that you can be addicted to gambling even though you are just playing with your friends. If it became a hobby of yours with your friends, most likely you will feel the urge more and will gamble alone. But the thing is, if you and your friends are only playing gambling games without money associated with them, then it's better because it's like bonding with your group, so you better be content with that and dont go any further.
But not in all cases or groups of friends because, just like me, I also have a circle of friends that also want sports betting, and we always bet whenever there is a sports match that we want; for example, in the NBA, we always bet per match or per champion league, and we find joy anf entertainment in that.

I agree, sometimes a person's addiction really starts in such a friendly game because they get support and comfort from their friends, no one stops or limits their actions because they are the only ones playing, and when it comes to card games usually there is money involved even if they say that they will only do friendly games so you should be able to handle yourself even if your friends are with you.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 21, 2024, 03:40:58 AM
If you don’t have balance in the platform where you used to gamble, then yes you are forced to use other coins in order to gamble. The fees were really insane after the halving. Network is damn congested. The actual reason for this congestion is still unknown, but many people assuming the halving made this traffic. Nevertheless it also become a reason for the addicts to stop gambling. Let’s see when the prices come back to normal.

I don't think it will cause those gambling addicts to stop in doing this activity because even if there's a high amount of transaction fee, they still do it no matter what happens, they didn't control theirselves but I hope it can minimize their time in participating in gambling for the mean time.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: THERE ARE TWO THINGS INVOLVED on: April 20, 2024, 10:55:51 AM
In my opinion, the key to enjoying gambling is to see it as a form of entertainment rather than a way to make money. By setting strict limits on how much you’re willing to lose and sticking to those limits, you can enjoy the thrills without putting yourself at risk of major financial setbacks. Enjoying the wins when they come, but not letting the losses drag you down.
That's how it should be. Set limit on how much to spend and stick to it. Don't go beyond that, otherwise you'll experience the consequence of not controlling yourself. Greed is also one of the factor on why some gamblers (who became fortunate to win a decent) still end up losing it all. It's because of their greed for wanting more thinking the result will be the same again.

Thus, it's better to play just for fun and not to profit as main desire. Because if the latter is the reason why you keep on playing, you'll just pressure yourself while not noticing you already go beyond your limit on how much money you can only afford to spend.
Setting limits on your money is the best way to gamble and live in general. Its just the truth. Just think about it: you decide what the rules are and how things will go. Dont worry about getting things done; just enjoy yourself. A clear head means better decisions. And its not even about luck. You have to know the game inside and out and know when to play your hand and when to fold.

Everything is ruined by greed. Trust me, that voice has made even the smartest people lose it. All of a sudden, they start losing. If you want to get rich while gaming, you're doing it all wrong. This is important: pay attention to the event.  Anyone can bet, but are you being smart? Thats a form of art.

Yup! that's right, setting limit while doing gambling will help you a lot not to lose more and to maintain your gambling activity in a moderate mode because we have a limit or boundaries that we follow. We need to be more responsible because sometimes even if we already have a limit, there are times that we bet beyond our budgeted money because we want to gain more or we don't want to lose the opportunity but in the end, we will lose more because of greed.

152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 20, 2024, 10:30:12 AM
The best time to stop gambling is now, most especially when you are losing, because gambling become a negative activities when you continue to lose, since you will likely have that bad feelings of unmotivated because of the recorded loses, and if it be mixture of winning and losing at the same time, one could advice to continue but in this case of consistent losing, it is better to quit at once.
You'll stop when you don't have money to gamble, that's a real gambler. What is your purpose of gambling? of course to enjoy and to win which could be the 2nd goal, but since we will likely loss, we should set up a bankroll that is already intended for gambling, and you win or lose, you'll never tough money that is not intended for gambling. It's not the curse of losing but it's us being irresponsible, because we don't understand the risk of losing, that's why we can't accept if we lose.
Thats a literal situation and it would be better that you shouldnt really be waiting for yourself to be put up on such situation on which does simply means that you had busted up all the money that you do have and this is something that you should have that completely make yourself that stopped up completely. Gambling should be fun, if you are already that allocated up some funds or already have that budget then it would be better that you shouldnt really be going beyond those points or with those limits because if you do find yourself that impulsive then you would be adding up more money until
you cant be able to do so since you have busted it all. We do know that emotion is something that would really be so damn hard to control specially if you are on such condition on the time that you would be making yourself trying to cope up with the loses that you have commited. Losing streak could really happen to anyone and if you do have that bad self control and decision making then you are really
that putting yourself on such great danger.
I'm fine with losing all the money I have as long as it's intended for gambling. Actually, it's not really complicated, because if we understand the risk and have accepted it, we will enjoy gambling in its entirety.

Let's say I go to a casino and I brought $1000, it's expected that I may loss that amount but it should not worry me as I can afford to lose it. So in order for me to enjoy, I should also set a goal on the amount I should win before I stop, so if my goal is $1000, that's double my bankroll, I should stop when I reach that amount. Plain and simple, because if we complicate these things, it will take us somewhere we might not like what would happen.
Knowing your money may vanish? Smart, open-eyed play. Setting a win aim and leaving? Man, harder said than done. Your strategy is promising. The actual battleground is your thoughts. Your discipline—how strong? Can you leave with $1000 burning a hole?" Your enemy is temptation to double down and chase that next rush.

Understanding your circuitry trumps the odds. And your plan? If those constraints hold, I'll support it. Enjoying gambling within your means is fine. It's simple in theory but terrible in practice. Keep your plan and headspace, and you may win.

It's easier to be said than done, you already know what's your enemy while doing gambling so you should also know what will you do. when you are tempted, just always think about your initial plan and stick to it, one of the ways to not lose to temptation is to have strong self discipline and do not listen to your other thoughts because it will lead you to danger.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tropicana, 3rd oldest casino in Vegas, shutting down after 67 years on: April 20, 2024, 07:51:44 AM
Haven't gambled there. Haven't been to Las Vegas. Haven't been to the US.

That casino has quite a history. If I were the owner, I would have sold or leased that to another gambling resort or casino. At least it won't be completely demolished. Well, businessmen must be practical rather than sentimental.

Had I been there and heard that it would shut its doors for good and would even be demolished, I would have kept with me some memorabilia. That's a place where a portion of The Godfather was shot, where James Bond stayed, and so on.

Same here mate! I haven't been in US but I heard a lot of things about that country and when it comes to casino, Las Vegas is the most highlighted City in the US. this is sad news because the place really has a history and is well known but when it comes to business, we need to know how to keep up with other businesses especially now that we were living in a digital era, everything is moved by the internet so to avoid loss, the owner must take a risk, they can upgrade the system or way of business or else it will close and open a new and modern type of gambling business.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can end poverty? In a nation today on: April 20, 2024, 07:23:01 AM
For me proverty is not the problem of a person but of the whole nation in my country the eradication of poverty has becomes necessary for the sustainable and inclusive growth of the let state the fate here Bitcoin has helps the poor by Increasin their savings and access to capital also it has help around 1.7million people in my country and also it has also impoverished people to control their investment.

Poverty is not written by anyone or I don't want anyone to insult or hurt others because of poverty but poverty that will cure you bitcoins is wrong.  Because pitcon is never out of charge To get bitcoin you must do something that not everyone can do and a poor person without education can't do it in life.  You don't have to invite to do this or work on it without invite or you will never earn bitcoins you must work on it and find the market.  Bitcoin is never going to let a man come and tell you I gave you a bit, let your responsibility go away, it's your right, you have to take away your right, you have to earn it.

you have a point, not everyone has a capability to learn bitcoin and we all know that bitcoin value is volatile, the value of this coin can change without notice depends to the market movement that's why I don't think this is the key to resolve the poverty, Maybe it can lessen but not totally end the poverty because some people in a society destined to become poor to balance the entire society and that's the truth. Take note that it's kinda hard to have at least 1 bitcoin so it is not really surprising if this will not be the answer to solve poverty in every country.
155  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe in savings or investment on: April 20, 2024, 03:32:00 AM
Having money in the bank is good but having a profitable investment is much better. So, to me is more about investment rather than just saving, because saving add little or no interest on your money but investment in various sectors like example in the housing sector guarantees return on investment in the long run. So I go with investment over savings.
If your purpose is for gaining money, investment is the choice. But we don't always expect for earning money, sometimes we are trying to secure money for the future. You need to understand that investment doesn't automatically gain profits, it has the risk of losing money. When you are not lucky or do the investment in careless way, you may have a chance to lose money. Meanwhile saving the money in bank will have no the risk of losing money as in the investment. You may pay for monthly fee in bank, but our money is safe in bank.

Anyway, just try to understand what the purpose of saving. It is not to get the interest, it to secure reserved money. So, don't compare the purpose of investment and saving!

The choice of saving in a bank is more guaranteed for financial security than investment if the purpose of saving is not to make a profit, but the negative effect of long-term saving in a bank can be the risk of losing the value of the currency due to ongoing global inflation, let's say the price of gold has now increased drastically and the impact of inflation has increased the price of gold depending on the local currency. This is influenced by the weakening of local currency exchange prices so that the decision to save money in the bank will be very risky. I still choose to allocate some of my savings to invest for the long term.

Well said, There's a risk with both savings and investment that's why we need to think well on how we properly handle our money so it won't go to waste in the future. That's true that saving money in bank for long term will decrease it's market value due to inflation. For me, If we want long term plans about our money, we'll go for investment because there's a high probabilty of profit, but we shouldn't set aside having a savings, both of them is important when it comes to financial security.
156  Economy / Economics / Re: Also consider your mental State of health while investing for wealths. on: April 19, 2024, 09:10:15 PM
Health can never be overestimated. Unfortunately, mental health is overlooked. When people experience a loss from a financial investment, they usually just deal with it in their own, nobody really thinks of the fact that it can affect them mentally.
That we why we have to always advise that people should invest what won't wreck them if they lose.
Investments are risky, and some are even more riskier and more volitile than the other. We have to take our health seriously.

Asides from that, some people prefer to save and invest instead of taking care of themselves. I know that saving and investing is good but also take care of yourself. Eat healthy and exercise. What's the point of having savings if you're not healthy enough to spend it? A vacation does a lot in refreshing your body. If you have the money plan for it. Find ways to be happy. Don't just put all your money in savings or investment while you can't take care of yourself.

It's important for people today to be able to save or have investments even though their health status has been compromised, I also don't know why there are many people today who ignore their health even if they feel something is wrong, I'm one of those people, even though I know something is wrong with my body or mental health, I always set it aside because I'm so busy in life, but that shouldn't be imitated, we should always prioritize our physical and mental health, because when we get sick, anytime the money we have saved to pay for hospital bills can be used up by chance.
157  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Advice for a young millionaire on: April 19, 2024, 08:19:17 PM
Becoming a millionaire at that young age is very overwhelming. What the young boy should do is to avoid some set of friends. Truly peer pressure and influence he mostly hangout with will certainly influence him to make bad decisions. Wealth should be maintained and not to be squandered. After abstaining from bad friends, he can start a business with 30% of the money, one that would be managed by his mother and then he can keep the remaining money for some time until he is wise enough to know a good investment to start.

that's right! He needs to know well all the people that comes to his life because some of them are after his money only. When it comes to investing your money, prioritize having a good financial advisor that really cares for you and for your money, not just a simple advisor that having a lot of invites is the priority rather than keeping your money safe. Having a huge money is a priviledge nowadays and not all people are experiencing what's the feeling of being rich so you need to be more conscious to your circles.

159  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Advice for a young millionaire on: April 19, 2024, 05:08:28 AM
What financial advice would you give to a young boy, probably, at the age of 18 who just received a whole lots of money from the inheritance of his late father who was a trader and multimillionaire in the textile industry?

The boy is the only child of the widower and does not seem to be interested in the same line of business and even when he does, he requires more maturity to be able to manage the business such as graduating from the college, etc.

Maybe the only thing I can advise him is that he should study more carefully where it is right and good to put the big money he has and he should also know well the people he can trust. He needs to be more attentive to things, knowing that he has a lot of money in his possession, and if he can handle a business left by his father, it would be better if he continues it, just don't let the things he inherited go to nothing  because nowadays, young people are very lucky to have generational wealth from their family.
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: April 19, 2024, 01:31:40 AM
Does gambling needs experience or anyone +18, even the inexperienced one can also play? Though playing gamble has a limited age grade or age bracket and the accepted is from  +18 years and there are some casinos hall at the door post, it is written clearly that it is only people of +18 can play. But what about the inexperienced ones, are they allowed to play gamble as well? Or they are also restricted to have the fun? In my observation, there are two elements to participate in gambling. One, you must above 18 years in my country and secondly you must have an experience to play, so I want to know if inexperienced people can also play gamble.
There's more elements that's attached to gambling. Knowing what to do in cases of gambling shouldn't be a problem for anyone. We should be careful because this young generation are exploring in technology, they can swiftly learn everything in a day, it's just about knowing the right path to follow. +18 and above can comfortably place wagers on games, they already in possession of hinged gambling. They're not kids anymore, they know how to increases and reduces the game odds.

As we are living in a high technology era wherein everything is accessible no matter how strict we are to them in navigating sites, we are not aware that some minors 18 and below has been engaging in different prohibited activities because we are not with them 24/7 and we don't want to check them everyday, right? So what should be the right thing to do so they will not participate in any gambling activities due to their age restriction? We need to guide, talk and explain to then everything that gambling is not suitable at their ages, that we need to show them what is the consequences if they will continue doing it without proper management. Talking with them is the easiest way to prevent them in any harm, take note that the more we stop them, the more curious they become and in the end they will do it out of their curiosity.
