962  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: December 17, 2023, 09:18:12 AM

963  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 17, 2023, 09:13:08 AM
If blue collar jobs pay can be increased as they do for the white collar jobs, it will be nice. This discrimination we are talking about can also be viewed from another perspective. If there was no one with deep knowledge who had gone to school to teach the craftsmen about their work, there will be no work for them to do.

In the same way, if there’s no new innovations to make the craftsmen manage their work well, there will be no options to what they can do with the little knowledge they’ve mastered over the years. There is a reason why the system is designed this way, it can’t be changed but can be adjusted to favor the blue collar workers too.
And blue collar jobs deserve the salary increase that they demand because of their capabilities to do in a work, they do physical work activities which requires additional pay. Nobody is looking down on blue collar jobs but sometimes, people treated you based on your job or educational background which is definitely discrimination. Correct me if I'm wrong but there are some countries who gives well compensation to their blue collar job workers because they believe that the salary should be balance based on the weight of the work.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 17, 2023, 08:46:40 AM
You can only gamble in your workplace if you have the time to do so,

Even if they have time to access online casinos via their computer or smartphone, it is still unethical for an employee to do so at work, let alone during work time.
do individual activities like that after finishing work. or in your free time on your work holidays. that's better to do.
Those who carry out gambling activities even at very busy times, I think are beginner gamblers who are starting to get addicted to gambling games. senior gamblers are unlikely to do that.

I beg to disagree on your last statement, Mostly those notorious gambler who preferrably do gambling during working hours are those people who's been in the gambling industry for a long time. The seniority are the reason that's why they have a strong desire to do that because they've been used to it since the beginning.
965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 17, 2023, 08:41:30 AM
It depends on the degree of addiction, if one quits it might be unfair for the other one. The best solution is for both of them to give up gambling and be a good role model for the family, that is if they don't want their kids to end up like them. As an adult, I never encourage anyone in my family to engage in gambling as I myself know how it can ruin you not just financially, but it can ruin your whole life. It's not bad to learn gambling games and play them with your family as long as you teach the kids the possible consequences of gambling and let teach them the importance of handling finance.

Well said, If they both have the worst addiction in gambling, Both of them must give up gambling so they can focus in their own family, It might be difficult at first but come to think of it, if both of them are not doing well in life, how can they give their children a good life? possibile it may cause a bad experience while growing up for them and seeing their parents being addicted in gambling and gradual breakdown of the family may affect their mental and emotional health
966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 17, 2023, 06:30:40 AM
Let's start with the simple choice: Do you consider yourself to have a gambling problem affecting your happiness, security, relationships, finances, etc? (Yes or No)
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.

(First question was above)
(Second question) Either way, when it's time to stop, how exactly do you do it? (For example) Change other habits, go new places, exercise more, stop drinking, simply "swear off" gambling... How exactly do you stop? Thank you.

I don't have any gambling problem that affects me and other people because I'm the type of person who's willing to do things without sacrificing important things and people in my life. I can't consider myself in that situation because I'm not addicted to it, I can control myself from the urge of doing something beyond my boundaries and that's my secret of not having any problem when it comes to gambling.
967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 17, 2023, 06:25:31 AM
Only a risk-taker could do that, someone who can afford it even if they lose, or at least has the courage to try betting that amount. And it seems the bettor really knows the game of basketball; he probably thought this through. If it were me, I probably wouldn't do it, knowing that there's no guarantee of winning. I can't imagine myself getting lucky, especially in sports betting. I would likely hesitate and regret it if I ended up losing. But it's also really nice to try something new from time to time.

Yes, only a risk taker can do that and those people who has a lot of money because they didn't even care if they will win or not. What"s important to them is to place a bet and let them see what happens. As you've said, gambling is about luck with a little bit of strategy and familiarization that's why there's a small possibility of winning but there's no 100% guarantee.

968  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers trickily claims they wins the bet while they never did. on: December 17, 2023, 06:07:45 AM
Don't be deceived, not every gamblers who actually claims that they won really won.
Some falsefully speculates that they won just because they want to pave an ease to those who has been advising them to quit or limits gambling simply because the gambler has been unlucky to win instead he keep betting over and over without a good bankroll management in their gambling carriers.
They basically do this because they feels disturbed and inconveniences of the people's opinions and advices towards the gamblers unprofitable gambling experiences

Why claiming they won even if it's not? Seems like deceiving theirself is the only way for them to accept their losses and to recruit other people to do gambling so that other people can experience what they have experienced in gambling. It's true that not all gamblers are experiencing wins but at least be true to yourself that you've experienced major losses. lesson learned.

970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All thanks to my family they contributed and bought bitcoin for me on: December 16, 2023, 11:49:46 AM
I don't want the year to come to an end without having any Bitcoin. I have seen a lot of people here talking about their bitcoins and how their investments are going. The thing that gets me depressed the most is when I hear about the halving next year and how bitcoin prices may be influenced positively. I wish i could just have some amount of Bitcoin. However, seeing the price of bitcoin now i became restless if the price will soon go higher and i may not afford it. So i pleaded with my parents if they could support me. Seeing how curious i am they helped me with some amount in my local currency so i used it to buy Bitcoin. Help me thank them for what they have done for me. Am so happy right now.

This is the amount in my local currency i believe it will get me up to 90 dollars of bitcoin. I am waiting for my friend who will help me buy it by the weekend.

Thank you mom, Thank you dad. And thank you Bitcointalk.

It's nice to see that there's still a supportive parents when it comes to money or any financial planning because there are some parents who let you do all by yourself and they don't help you because they want you to learn the hard way without asking any help from them. It's good to know that you have your bitcoin investment, congrats on that! May i know if you want to invest in bitcoin because most people are talking about it? how about the knowledge you have about crypto investment? At least you know the basics, you can learn it through your friend as you've mentioned that youe friend are the one who will help you to buy bitcoin. That's a good start, Congrats again!
971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 16, 2023, 11:28:14 AM
There is no amount of money I can lost that will make me take my own life, even if I feel like i can't, because that's suicide, as a Christian it's even a condemnation, a very big sin, such thing trapped your soul and they become stranded in the spirit world, because its never you time to leave this earth, you forced it.

If this man just give it time and sleep over it, he will get over it, you are hurt and its fine to cry it out, its fine to be sad for day, but it will come to past and you will be fine, I have lost more than $3000 before and my bitcoin wallet was hacked weeks ago, I am now used to losing money and I have this peace in me that I will always be fine.

If you can't afford to lose a amount of money don't use it to gamble, people still won't learn from this story, but I hope they stop risking a lot of money on gambling, its most times not going to worth it because losing is the most possible thing that will happen when you gamble..may his soul rest in perfect peace and I hope his creator forgive him for taking the life he can't create.

Yeah, you have a point but even those religious people have this kind of suicide thoughts once they experienced heavy problem in their life, even if they cry, pray and rest a lot, still there's a big problem waiting for them that's why so many intrusive thoughts comes to their mind. It's easy to be said but it is hard to apply once we are on their shoe. mental health is so important nowadays so it's better if you have yourself checked by the professionals.
972  Economy / Economics / Re: Learn to use DEBT in a proper way to create asset on: December 16, 2023, 11:13:34 AM
Yes I think we shouldn't be taking debt for our personal leisure or product which depreciates with time which is the mistake people make but it's equally risky when you borrow it for business but it gives a possibility of giving profit which could cover the interest charges. I personally don't think these loans or credits are good because it pushes people at the brink of poverty with penalties and late payment fee, etc.

One should never fall in debt for products like car, expensive mobiles and all. Because only few are able to manage it wisely as I have seen people using two credit cards and keep rotating the amount between two.

In my own opinion, one thing that I consider as good debt is purchasing property, as we know that land appreciates the price from time to time which is a good investment and business too, because you can let other people rent to your house, in that way you can acquire profit which help you to pay your debt or if you have no plans to put it for rent,  You can sell it at the higher price and you were be able to pay your debt while having large profit
973  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you remember when Twitch banned gambling? Now they allow nudity! on: December 16, 2023, 10:52:39 AM
Not a long time ago, we had a lot of news and discussions on this forum about Twitch platform censoring gambling lives and content, due to their decision to keep the social media "family friendly".

Ironically, now artistic nudity is allowed (And who is going to define the limit between what is artistic and what is pornography?)!

Here we can see the double standards of Twitch's developers. Gambling was condemned as something outrageous, but nudity is fine as family friendly content...

Why do you think gambling has been being treated in a different manner by Twitch?

Twitch revamps rules on sexual content

this makes me laugh real hard, Like they banned gambling but allowed artistic nudity, seems like promoting pornography? and a lot of people here says that gambling is more harmful than nudity when we all know that this is both wrong and it is inappropriate because there's still young people who can view that kind of topic. Well, we have no right to protest about that, maybe those persons behind twitch is a fan of sexual things.
974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I ask for refund if casino game has bugs? on: December 16, 2023, 10:40:45 AM
Hello guys, I have heard many stories when person was playing casino games, for example person was playing slots and managed to win a huge jackpot, 100 thousand or up to a million but casino didn't give him his winning because they said slot had bugs and they can't give away money because person won through a buggy slots.
I have never seen a case when casino called player for a refund because slot had bugs. What happens if you think that slot has bugs and that's why you lose? If we follow logic, since casino can deny your winning because they think that game has bugs, you should have right to ask for slots inspect if you lose a lot. Doesn't this make sense? I think it makes but I want to know if you had similar experience or if something similar has happened in history ever.

If this case happens, You have to report the incident to the casino's customer service or hotline since this is casino's fault for having system issue and bugs. You can definitely ask for a refund for that because the site didn't functioning well and if there's a system update, they should have give prior notice to all players to limit and prevent this kind of incident.
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 16, 2023, 09:06:33 AM
The terms and conditions of casinos and other companies is usually very lengthy and somehow boring for some people. Hence , many people rarely find time to read them. They may actually contain some of the complaints that people raise about some casinos such requiring KYC if there is need or suspicion of money laundering activities.

What is your take on this?

Honestly, many people doesn't want to read terms and conditions because of the reason of being lengthy and sometimes are quit to understand but still choose the Agree option even if some of the terms are not clear. For me, we should give some time to read especially that gambling involves money and some legal information, we need to be more aware and even if the gambling site is trustworthy, we should still not skip that part so it's better to make an effort to read and understand these agreements, as they can have significant implications for your rights and responsibilities in gambling,
976  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 16, 2023, 08:45:01 AM
Believe it or not, I don't regret knowing gambling cause it taught me some lesson in life.
How to control my greed and when to quit in order to win.
It also helps me when I feel lonely, it was my way to enjoy and forget some of my problems or you might say emotional support.
So I don't ever regret knowing it, even though I lost some money from gambling.

Same here! I always say that I don't regret knowing gambling because If I hadn't tried it, I might have been able to keep my mindset about wrong information about gambling. It really taught me a lesson and If it weren't for gambling, I wouldn't have learned the important things I should have known and been aware of like the importance of having a self control, financial budgeting and not being addicted into it. I didn't get to the point where I blame those who taught and brought me on the path of being a gambler because in reality, we have our own decisions and actions in life.

978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Young student teaching his classmates about Bitcoin on: December 15, 2023, 12:47:53 PM
Only 6 years old, wow what a legend. It looks like this kid will go very far in life. I appreciate he has been taught about Bitcoin & pushed in a certain direction by his parents but still being so young & being able to stand up in front of lots of people to give & talk & educate them is still very impressive. Good luck to him, seems he will do well in life.
Indeed, He is such a genius person. Despite of having a young age, He already has a lot of complex and various idea about crypto and bitcoin, He is incredibly genius and one of a kind and for sure, His parents are so proud of him and seems like he's enjoying on what he is doing and we can't control him by saying that he should enjoy his life by playing and doing some kid's game because we really don't know his capabilities and desires in life. Looking forward to him in the future.
979  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Nirerecomend Mo Ba Ang Article Na Ito Sa Mga Baguhan Sa Bitcoin on: December 15, 2023, 12:38:14 PM

so wala pa ding tatalo sa Holding ng bitcoin for long term mate.

980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you be annoyed not knowing the cards that made you fold? on: December 15, 2023, 12:27:15 PM
You are at the poker table and then one guy on the other side raises the plot to $20 and then another $50. Knowing your pair may not win if he has a higher pair, you decide to fold.

If I were on the table, I would like to know what his cards are so that I can know sometime in the future whether he is bluffing or not but he just mixes his cards with the rest of the pile without me knowing what they are. I'd feel like I am cheated.

Would you just be annoyed not knowing the cards that made you fold?

It is a players choice not to show his card unless majority of people in your area is requesting to show it to everyone and if a player is confident enough, he can show it to you but to be fair, you will be doing the same oncs he wants to see yours. It's valid for you to feel that you're cheated on but for your peace of mind, you may talk with him in a good way.
