81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Looking for stake alternatives on: October 30, 2023, 11:12:18 PM
I guess this is a direct attack on stake even though you didn't provide any evidence to back up your claims that stake games are rigged, this is the second time i have seen this kind of thread where a user will be asking for stake alternative, anyways we have various casinos that have to build their reputations here in the forum, that ops can easily choose from.

With just a little search through the board,  you will have several options to choose from and align your test to one of them and then get back to share your views and comparison between stake and the new casino.

Obviously, saying that stake games are rigged, it is a direct statement that Stake is not being honest anyway, it is not our concern since we have different experiences on that platform.

With regards to Keno, you can try the casino that has their announcement in this forum, aside from the given casino names, I think they have Keno on their platform.  You can check this link of the list of casinos that has an announcement in this forum.
82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin about to close at the highest price in 78 weeks! Looking strong!💪 on: October 30, 2023, 10:55:57 PM
With the halving approaching I would advise new guys to avoid falling for trends and hype that would create FOMO and FUD because there would be lots of panicking next year around the Bitcoin halving be smart to fall for pump and dump altcoins .

We can just do our regular DCA, this way we can avoid uncertain purchases or sells.  We still don't know if we are really in for  a bull run, often times when the market is overhyped, bull trap is being laid.  So we better be more vigilant this time.  Don't panic when someone execute a trap and just keep the hodl and accumulation of Bitcoin until the market had transitioned to bull run completely.  This might happen after the halving, though I hope this time is the start of it but there is something in the history of Bitcoin that keeps me from thinking that this current price rally is the start of the Bitcoin bull run.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a “safe haven asset” on: October 29, 2023, 11:08:45 PM
I greatly agree with what @stompix stated on the first page of the thread.  Bitcoin is no where a safe haven due to its high volatility especially when one is looking for such in a short period of time.  As of now Bitcoin is still at a decline considering its ATH way back 2021.  we can never say a safe haven asset that inflicts losses to our investment especially when the person invested when Bitcoin price was higher than the current market price.

Bitcoin is a good investment for long term but saying it is a safe haven asset can be highly refuted due to its high volatility and the market cycle itself.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2023, 10:45:03 PM
Something came out in my mind recently:
How would the price of Bitcoin change if there were no other cryptocurrency than Bitcoin?
Would Bitcoin develop faster without a competition?

Since the question is just a case scenario then we can answer it by a case scenario of Bitcoin price being only one in the cryptocurrency industry.  Right now the marketcap is around $1.27T  dividing it to the current supply of Bitcoin which is 19,527,662 BTC then we can get a price of $6,503,594.74

Many people believe that if there is no alternative cryptocurrency, the price of Bitcoin will rise because it has no competition.

But, in my opinion, the price of Bitcoin is lower if it does not have a competition. Why? Because if there is no competition, the buyer's thinking is "should I buy this or not?" however if there is competition, the buyer's mind is "should I buy Bitcoin or these alts?"

As a result, not just Bitcoin but other altcoins will benefit. So, rather than being upset or sad because there is a competition, we can look at it in a positive way.

If there is no competition and there is a monopoly on the market, it is obvious that Bitcoin will have a higher price.  This also happen in a regular business establishment who has the monopoly of the products or service.

Having a competition, the fund going to the market is divided so it is an obvious thing that the price will get cheaper or lower but the service will surely improve since one wanted to give more satisfying service or products in order to get the interest of the investors/client.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we seen the lowest low of this bear market? on: October 29, 2023, 10:28:30 PM
Since the FTX crash I listened a lot to Gareth Soloway and Nicholas Merten from Datadash. Both expected lower lows. Soloway even expected BTC to get under 10k at some point. With the recent price rise I'm a bit worried that the ship has sailed. In his most recent video he no longer mentioned these lows. He even mentioned a 50k possibility for this year.

There is nothing wrong with listening to people who claim to know much about the crypto space. But I doubt if anyone can predict the price of Bitcoin accurately. All we can do is speculate based on our view of the current or future global economic outlook.

I agree that it is ok to listen to the analysts but we should always verify their predictions with other analysts and our own interpretation of the current market.  Having many good references is a good thing since we can have the pros and cons of the situation and it is up to us what to come out of those analysis and predictions.

What are your thoughts? How big of a price rise do you expect if an ETF gets approved?
And is a scenario of World War III (Israel + USA + NATO vs an alliance of Islamic countries) bullish or bearish?

Refusal to approve Bitcoin spot ETF and the escalation of the war between Hamas and Israel to other parts of the world will not be favorable to the Bitcoin space. Another war will affect the global economy which will in turn harm the Bitcoin market. But an escalation of this war is unlikely.

Obviously, rejection of  ETF means a bearish sentiment while war if not worldwide can be bullish for Bitcoin because people might find ways to have their assets converted to a more safer one and Bitcoin is one of the best choice.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Make a Quality Posts in the Forum on: October 29, 2023, 10:06:08 PM
As far as I know a quality post refers to a post that give substantial information about the topic.  The post should be relevant to the topic being discussed and does not derail the discussion by citing a non-topic related stuff.  It does not necessarily needs to be a long novel, (other adds more unnecessary words to make their post looks longer) and it would be great if it is direct, short, and can be clearly understood by readers.

@OP it is really indeed a need for knowledge to be able to interact to the thread wisely.  And slimming its research for knowledge down to a single board can really help the member to easily gather information, discuss relative information and post quality reply and topic because his knowledge is centered on that board.  It makes learning  and mastering of knowledge faster unlike having all board in mind at once.  Worse a confusion may occur like when one is trying to learn Bitcoin and altcoins and participating both on Bitcoin board and altcoin board, if not careful, the knowledge acquired might get mixed up resulting to crappy and possible spam answers because of the mixed up understanding of the subject involved.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Mattress Mack" loses nearly 10 million dollars on Astros Loss on: October 26, 2023, 10:51:24 PM
( could you ever bet millions if you had it? )

If have hundreds of millions then I do not mind betting 1 million into the sports that I am very familiar with especially when I believe that my favorite team have the upper hand.  The question actually depends on the capability of a person to finance such bet without affecting his financial status.  Those who got some millions won't bet with the stated amount but for those who have hundreds to thousands of it won't mind because they have the capability to lose such amount without flinching.

According to the replies, that guy is still on the green after losing those amount.  So I think he would not mind the losses and will continue to bet with such huge amount until he found out and realized that his finance can't support such huge amount.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 10:35:13 PM
I am also irritated by the guys action and feel sorry for the young lady.  It is right that the young lady call off the engagement and she should charge the guy and file a case against him so that she can get her money back.

It is not the right reason that the guy wanted to get the burden off the lady by gambling the fund off.  That is pure laziness and very irresponsible of the guy.  If he wanted to help out, he should double his effort on earning money by finding extra sources of income.

Quote
I am really speechless and confused, and i think it's best for me to call the wedding off, what will i even tell people that already know about our wedding plans? this is the most disgraceful thing that has ever happened to me.

As I said it is really the best move to call off the engagement.  This kind of thing won't stop and the guy would possibly end up selling his wife and kids just to fill his urge to gamble. If he is worrying about other people, he can just tell the truth about the guy's gambling habit, the reason why he wanted to call off the engagement.
89  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: October 26, 2023, 10:17:41 PM
OMG... That was a great win. I sometimes play demo when I don't have money to deposit, but in my life I have never hit maxwin in nolimit city. Nolimit city slots are very difficult. I've got Maxwin on Pragnatic Play

It would be amazing guys, if it was real money. You get $450,000, that's a crazy win. Have you played with a real account after getting maxwin? maybe you are still lucky
Keep playing that type of game because you will get maxwin like the maxwin that happened in pragmatic play.
Playing the demo is also fun to entertain yourself when you can't make a deposit even though the winnings in the demo cannot be withdraw.

Yes.. Sometimes I play demos when I don't have money to deposit or the money quota for gambling has run out. I have limits when it comes to gambling, if my quota of money for gambling has run out then I will not make a deposit even if I have money.

I only try demo games to know the mechanics of the game.  How the slots work, the bonus round work and to test whether it will pique my interest.  I never played demo games for fun since gambling game is no fun if there is no risk involve, IMHO.

In the past I had poor financial control in gambling, so I spent a lot of money on gambling. Now I have changed and it is best to limit our money and not spend it all on gambling because it is an irresponsible act of gambling. Playing gambling is fun but if we spend all our money then it is a disaster

Good to know that you had learn how to control your finances and bankroll.  Controlling and limiting money to spend in a casino is one trait every gambler should have in order for them not to ruin their financial aspect and at the same time don't give a bad name to the gambling industry.
90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Man Who Stole Over 51,680 Bitcoin on: October 26, 2023, 10:02:21 PM
The story is one reason not to trust centralized exchanges that they keep our data private.  If centralized exchanges are truly protecting their customers data, then it should have not been leaked to any institution.

I believe on those early days, Bitcoin was considered/believed an anonymous coin that can mask someone identity, so that maybe one of the reason why the person got careless.

Anyway it's a tough story and I feel sorry for the guy. He seems like a good person and the punishment is WAY too high. They took everything he had, not only the silk road coins, which is crazy.

It is a normal practice for the authority to ransack the property of a suspected person.  They do authorized robbery in the name of justice lol.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to build a career with bitcoin? on: October 26, 2023, 09:47:17 PM
To answer the topic title, yes it is very possible to build a career with Bitcoin.  One can establish an entrepeneur career by using Bitcoin as mode of payment.  They also can build their trading career with Bitcoin and can also build their job career by applying on a company that integrates Bitcoin and in need of programmers and developers.

One of my older brothers bought bitcoin with that money, instead of keeping it in the bank, about 6 months ago, the price of bitcoin was 24-25k+, and he bought about 1 BTC. The price of bitcoin has increased to 34K+. In just 6 months, he has made a profit of 9k+ dollars, which would have taken more than 20 years to get from the bank. This means that bitcoin can become a millionaire if people invest in it at the right time. I also bought some bitcoins myself and did it by withdrawing money from the bank. Success is not possible if you do not take risks in life. I know how hard it is to make money and if it is to sweat your head and work day and night, then it is worth it. And we can make a lot of income by buying or trading bitcoin with the right rules. I think bitcoin is a bright future for us.

Bitcoin trading does not always ends in a profit.  Many day trader were burn by the sudden reverse movement of Bitcoin.  Since Bitcoin is highly volatile, one wrong decision can cost us our trading investment.  Holding in the other hand is different. Since we are not actively selling our coins and buy at a cheaper price, the risk of losing our investment is very minimal to non-existent unless we sell at a loss.

With patience, our Bitcoin investment is surely have a bright future.
92  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much money can you make by investing in Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2023, 09:22:12 PM
Where the risks of loss are considered to be the lowest. No doubt some coins crashed but that doesn't mean all coins are worthless.

You are right. Coins can crash, and not all coins are worthless. But how will you differentiate the once that can crash and be worthless from the once that, after crashing, will still be able to bounce back, since even coins that we consider strong once are crashing and they are not bouncing back? If you are taking a risk, it’s better if it’s always minimal, the higher the risk that you are taking, the higher the chances of you losing money.

It can be differentiate by knowing the liquidity of the coins.  Bitcoin together with some altcoins are highly liquid that the possibility of it going worthless is so small that the risk involved in investing into them became minimal.

The only coin that I know that won’t disappoint anyone is bitcoin, and that’s why I do encourage people to go for bitcoin. I feel pained whenever I see people losing money in altcoins, and some people go to the extent of investing in meme coins that are completely useless, some of them are newbies that are being misled.

Bitcoin price (not Bitcoin itself) disappointed lots of people who have weak hands.  It is not correct to say that Bitcoin won't disappoint anyone. In the span of time and turn of events, many people had been disappointed by Bitcoin price making them sell their stash after panicking to avoid certain losses in times when Bitcoin price got dump.

On topic, as long as we understand Bitcoin, the technology and the economics, it is easy to engage with Bitcoin investment.  The amount of money one can make from BTC investment depends on many factor which includes, entry and exit price. One can't calculate and realize profit if he don't sell
93  Other / Archival / Re: CEO of Stake.com (Eddie Craven) Found Decapitated In Home on: October 25, 2023, 10:39:00 PM
I just came across this news article about eddie craven the ceo of stake.com.

is this true?? this is so gruesome i hope its a hoax

https://medium.com/@cnnaustralia/ceo-of-stake-com-eddie-craven-found-decapitated-in-home-c97466afb173
After seeing this news I was very scared. I searched from various sites to check the integrity and only found this on CNN news channel. I think this is completely false propaganda. This fake propaganda is running to damage the platform. We will never believe this and you will not believe this propaganda. This propaganda is created to harm the platform.

I was unfazed bacause I already think that the news is fake.  It is a hoax because news should have been everywhere if that news really happened but instead we can't find any news about the fake story and only on that account.

I do not know what entertain people to post fake news.  Whether they have a grudge against the person, posting fake story of someone killed in a gruesome way isn't funny.  Even if they make up fake story just to have views and clicks, this will backfire in the end since people that find out that news are fake, they will stop reading and following the article created by that account.  Worst the person behind the account may get imprisoned for instilling fear and lying to the masses,
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 25, 2023, 10:22:45 PM
First, get well soon @OP. Now to the topic...

It is really bad to chase losses.  You are lucky @OP that you are able to recover your losses with some profit in hand before quitting.  Many gambler that chases loss are not that lucky and end up losing all their bankroll deposits resulting in a huge amount of losses.   I also experience chasing losses and the result is undesirable so from then on, I stop when my bankroll got depleted and never again redeposit just to chase my losses.
95  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $5k rise within an hour plus. on: October 25, 2023, 10:07:14 PM
This can be considered a recovery though this is one of the longest bear markets the community is facing. Breaking above 32k and holding that position for more than 24 hours gives long term investors more confidence. A lot of long positions were opened by the traders as soon as BTC broke 32k and started rallying towards 35k. This continuation of the rally can take us to above 40k by the end of the year.

True, this can be the miners relief trend.  But still I am puzzled about the sudden surge of Bitcoin and the continuation of that surge even though it was confirmed that the Blackrock ETF approval is a fake news.  Is there some huge force behind these Bitcoin surge?  I am wondering if we are in for a bitcoin bull market transition before the halving or someone is setting another bull trap just to take advantage of many naive traders and investors.

It would really a nice thing if the uptrend of Bitcoin is a natural market of demand and supply effect and not some trend manipulation by some groups in order to take profit at the end that can cause losses from the biters of the bait.

96  Economy / Economics / Re: What does being rich mean in your perspective? on: October 25, 2023, 09:51:55 PM
For me richness is the state where person is abundant of everything.  Both physical and mental are in good health, there is no problem with finances and it can be able to sustain several generations that follows even without working.  There is a bountiful love from our love ones and relatives, and friends.  For me being rich is having all our basic needs and wants to be able to meet and do not have any problem of lacking with them in the future.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor talks about Bitcoin, and you WILL be disappointed on: October 25, 2023, 09:35:41 PM
We can't avoid this kind of thought where we question one's stand point when we knew that the person is heavily invested on Bitcoin.  I read the article and I find it not disappointing since he is only giving his point of view on how Bitcoin market will grow.  He has some point even though it is disappointing for the Bitcoin fanatics.  But after all it is just a personal point of view and we have our own.  We shouldn't be affected by these kind of article or any influential people when it comes to our investment.  Let them share their thought and let us continue our own research about the truth behind Bitcoin, after all it is our investment, our own decision to make.

What is known about Michael Saylor today is that he is an entrepreneur who continually says Bitcoin is great. Saylor always explains the greatness of Bitcoin at various events he attends.
My assessment of Saylor is the same that he is a person who always supports Bitcoin as a savior of currency value.

If Saylor's report was disappointed with Bitcoin which was published three years ago, perhaps he was playing a drama or he at that time did not understand bitcoin like he does now, who always continuously expresses support for bitcoin.
Regardless of the truth people need to stop following people like Elon and Saylor and begin to take decisions on their own, the community does not need some kind of charismatic leader at the top, each person needs to take a look at what bitcoin offers and see if there is anything there that interest them, right now the main motivation to buy bitcoin has been to invest in it in order to make money, however as the economy gets worse and governments get more restrictive with their policies, people will begin to appreciate way more the characteristics of bitcoin that allows it to get around such censorship.

Any kind of things that needs adoption needs a charismatic advertisers.  It is not necessarily a leader since Bitcoin is decentralized and we know it has no central authority but for it to promulgate, simply telling information is not enough.  A charismatic marketing is needed for the people to easily accept and adopt Bitcoin but of course we should not create our own version of definition of what Bitcoin is and should stick to fact about Bitcoin and why it is created.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: October 25, 2023, 09:11:17 PM
Hallo people,

I bought some bitcoin at 26/27/30 and 31k. all profit so far, I am thinking about buying more, but is 35k te expensive to buy bitcoin?

No, remember Bitcoin had reached $69k way back in 2021, so the price $35k in reference to its all time high can be considered an almost 50% discounted sales.  Besides, the upcoming halving have high possibility to trigger another bull run that may break the current all time high.  Buying at $35k is really a bargain if the prediction of many optimistic analyst happens after the bull run.

But of course, we need to consider our funds since other than lump sum, we can also DCA to lessen the burden of huge outflow of money in a short span of time.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 24, 2023, 10:26:49 PM
I came across a very interesting article about fake streamers https://www.ltccasino.com/fake-streamers-exposed
Having little experience playing at online casinos, I can't be sure that everything written in this article is true. What do you think about it?

The article is clearly written by a person who are coming from a specific casino (ltccasino) and what is written in the article is about some specific streamers (Drake, Roshtein and even Eddie who is known as the founder of Stake) who are working/being paid/affiliated by specific casino (Stake). I think article is not merely written to educate people but it is more about a casino that want to make people to think negatively about the competitor. I can be wrong, just a wild guess but it is a bit strange because the example given in article is like targeted to one specific casino only while there are some other casinos that are promoted with similar way (by streamers).

But the title is misleading just to get a click.  These people are not fake casino streamer but rather sponsored by the casino to play and stream.  There is a huge difference between a fake casino streamer and being sponsored.  Whether with real money or sponsored money, these people can't be considered as fake casino streamers because the casino they representing are legit, the stream are legit, it is that the fund is sponsored by the casino.  Which of these scenario shouts a fake casino streamer? Unless the claim that they use their own money for gambling, and yet they are sponsored by the casino then they are lying.

They are hired to bring entertainment to audience while showcasing the casino services.  So these people are streaming to advertise the casino while bringing entertainment to the people.  I do not think that using the casino sponsored money should be the case here to tell that the streamers are fake.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: October 24, 2023, 10:10:24 PM
what your opinion on celebrities staking higher amount and still be ok to publicly show it and do not feel any thing even if the ticket cut just like what happened to Drake last few weeks back.

It only means one thing, the celebrities that are staking higher amount and still ok to publicly show it and do not have any regret even when the lose is that this person have way more than the amount they wagered.  In short they have deep pockets that can support a high stake bet multiple times.

What is you view and analysis on this bet,  although I see that he be confident in his selections to have staked such an amount,  but since football is a game of unpredictability,  what then ks your views on this game even though the match is currently live.

Anything goes, if he is lucky then he will have his win but if not, he might lose.  Regardless  I don't really care at all since it is his money, he has the right to spend it anyway he wanted.  About the match, everything may happen, I remember some thread here where a person lost millions of dollar by betting on the leading team and eventually got rekt.  Same scenario may happen.
