221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should newbies invest with small capital in BTC on: September 25, 2023, 09:53:30 PM

Feels good actually to invest and have a saying to have an investment in crypto and not just an ordinary crypto an Apex one to be precise which is way more cooler.

However, there comes a factor to be considered CAPITAL. Capital stands as a major factor to be considered while investing  however coming to the world of crypto and BTC precisely,  I think small capital won't do this considering the current monetary value for BTC.
Remember  the greater the capital the higher the profit and the higher the risk however considering BTC the risk minimal.

If we can't provide a considerable amount of capital in one go, there is always this DCA method where we can accumulate Bitcoin as time pass by.  There is no rule that forbid anyone from buying Bitcoin in a fixed and constant manner to accumulate a target amount of BTC.

Quote
So How Much To Invest??

As I've said earlier, investing  little in BTC now won't give you a tangible profit when the profit comes but its advisable to invest 20- 40% of your capital in my opinion .However as a beginner or newbies, you literally know nothing about investing even if you have an idea you are still new to it so it is advisable to start with little amount to understand how the game is being played before considering any percentage  to add in your investment and this should be strictly  done according to your capital.

Why not the whole of your capital?  If you are sure that the risk in investing in BTC is minimal then it is a good move to invest 100% of our capital.  Then we can just save another one to venture for another investment.

It would be a waste if we only invest a portion of our capital if we know that the risk is minimal and the possibility of profit is high.  It is not being greedy but being practical.  One can say to diversify but I think there is a time for that when we are able to save money for another batch of investment.

222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accumulating Bitcoin with ease on: September 25, 2023, 09:37:15 PM
I am not doubting what you have stated OP, but you should know that for people to accept or adopt bitcoin is not by force and no matter the strategy that you come out with, it is the peoples choice to say if they will use bitcoin for their payment or not, even with the discount price.

I agree, it is the people choice whether to use Bitcoin as payment option and we cannot force the idea to them.  The good thing is that, giving them information on options on how to accumulate Bitcoin.

From my own understanding, the best way to accumulate bitcoin with ease, is for you to use DCA method, where a certain portion of your will be used to buy bitcoin weekly, or monthly regularly. If you don't have a means of income then it is better that person look for one, to enable him use part of his money to buy bitcoin. OP, what you are dayng are ways to promote bitcoin and not ways to accumulate bitcoin because there are some countries that bitcoin is banned, how to you render your service in such place and get paid with bitcoin. You can use p2p method to DCA through exchanges, even though bitcoin is banned in that country.

DCA will be easy for those people who have extra funds  but for those people who barely meets their daily needs, it would be very hard.  Looking for a job and get paid with Bitcoin is also not easy to do.  Since a freelancer have to compete against other applicant and have to build his portfolio to be better than others in order to get chosen to do the job.

This simply means that the ease of accumulating BTC is not the same for every people.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Flip or Trade? What’s The Bigger Gamble? on: September 25, 2023, 09:19:51 PM
I don't like day trading to be honest, so I'd choose to flip a coin. If you're a swing trader, that's a bit different, long-term traders who hold an asset for a year or longer are also a different breed.

It's hard to choose since you're not giving us more details about the type of trader that you are, but when I read predictions by some people who constantly get everything wrong when it comes to bitcoin, I start to believe in coin flips more and more Cheesy

Prediction are often made with contrasting conditions, it says the trend of the market in two opposite path by using if and else statement.  So it is conditional.  I have read lots of predictions and they states  the condition of the market and sentiments while in TA a measure of something to states the possible trend of the market price.  Those who just give prices without any kind of conditions is called speculation not prediction.

I would take day trading any time against coin flip due to the reason that day trading have factors that can affect the result to be in profit while coin flip do not have.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 24, 2023, 11:10:10 PM
I read that this is the 4 fighters that Inoue wanted to face before moving up in division,

1. 🇵🇭 Marlon Tapales - This November
2. 🇵🇭 John Riel Casimero
3. 🇲🇽Luis Nery
4. 🇺🇿MJ Akhmadaliev

Can we have an official source to these? As far as Inoue is concerned, he is not a type of boxer that target a certain boxer in terms of he really want that to be his opponent. Marlon Tapales isn't on Inoue's radar but since the Pinoy boxer got the championship belt, then he needs to fight him as that was a mandatory to become the undisputed champion in the Super Bantamweight Division.

Maybe that list is those who wants to face Inoue instead and try to keep the monster at the Super Bantamweight for the meantime.

Luis Nery is honestly just full of talks. He won't stand a chance against Inoue. On the list, it's really John Riel Casimero as a better opponent for him although even I will support Quadro Alas here, Inoue is seems to be the better fight over him. Casimero have a hard time dominating the unranked boxer he faced on his last fight. If that performance will be applied against Inoue, it's a clear win already for the Japanese.

I looked on the internet and happen to find this article: https://fightnews.com/naoya-inoue-even-if-all-belts-unified-ill-stay-in-the-122lb-division/150758

The statement is from his manager and promoter Hideyuki Ohashi, stating that after the unification fight against Tapales, they might consider fighting John Riel Casimero or Luis Nery.  I haven't found the article that Inoue is also looking to have a match against Akhmadaliev.

Quote
His manager and promoter Hideyuki Ohashi, former WBC and WBA world minimum champ, explained his blue print. “If possible, Naoya will exchange gloves with Tapales for unification this year. Then, next year, he may face John Riel Casimero or Luis Nery. Robeisy Ramirez might be Naoya’s future target should he move up to the featherweight division in the future.”
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is life on: September 24, 2023, 10:54:58 PM
I see a lot of people here comparing gambling games to bitcoins I think those who do this are mentally ill because bitcoin is recognized as the best coin in the world and we see everyone's future in bitcoin and bitcoin price is so low now that's why we  Let's all buy Bitcoin now and it will be very beneficial for our future.

Only Bitcoin enthusiast recognized Bitcoin is the best coin in the world, others recognize their national currency as the best one.  But if we are talking about cryptocurrency then yes, Bitcoin is recognized as the best cryptocurrency in the world despite its technical development is lagging.

I'm not saying gambling is bad I'm saying no one should gamble because if you gamble you can lose everything your whole life income can go there that's why you trade bitcoins you light your future and gamble happy happy  Never get addicted to it and try to stay away from it.

Gambling should be viewed as an entertainment so it should not be compared with Bitcoin since these two are very different in function.
226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with your transactions. on: September 24, 2023, 10:27:00 PM
It is a standard operating procedure that when doing transaction one must double check the receipent, the amount of payment and the processing fee.  In case for Bitcoin, it is the wallet address, the transaction fee and the amount of BTC to be sent.  There is nothing new to this advice but people are can easily forget the right procedure so reminding them from time to time is a good thing.

In my part I always make sure that I check the recepient address carefully verifying if correctness of the address, amount.  I use electrum so I can easily see if i am overpaying with the transaction fee and adjust it accordingly.

Bitcoin is not like the banks were using that if the transaction makes a wrong details they will take it back, its the opposite of it, the transactions now will float and nothing will receive this reason why people now are adding the copy icon for the easy way of copy the address and not manually inputted because its prone to a human error, in making transaction consider the Address, Fees always check in the mempool, and the amount sometimes if you make a full payment the fees will deduct on it make sure you make an exact amount. Also check once you paste the address because sometimes theres some tool used by the hackers to change the address into their address.

True that, reason why we should always do the SOP of verifying the details of our transactions.
227  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first knowledge in Bitcoin/Bitcointalk on: September 24, 2023, 09:53:10 PM
I heard about bitcoin from my uncle and he has been talking about bitcoin since February 2022 and have been hearing how bitcoin pays and support youths. If invest in long term. And he also warned me that bitcoin is not get quick rich scheme and there are different ways one can get bitcoin. And the ones he told me were:

How can it pays and supports youths if the plan is to hold for a long term?  In this kind of plan, investors are suppose to spend money to buy Bitcoin and stash it for years.  Stashing it for years will not produce profit so saying that it can pays and support youth when one is not selling it for a very long time is somehow misleading.

Quote
1) buy bitcoin and store it in the wallet for the next bull market   to come. And he told me to buy it in the bear market and invest it for a long term investment for like 3_5 years period, so I am planning to invest for the long term.

This is the reason why I stated the question above.  Let us say you are in your 2nd year of bachelor degree, waiting for 3 - 5 years makes you a graduate student and holding Bitcoin won't give you profit unless you sell it which is planned after 3 to 5 years/

Quote
2) trading is the buying and selling of bitcoin in the market at all time or anytime which gives you profit if you can trade well. But trading is more risk than investment.

This can support the your statement if you happen you get regular profit from trading.  It is indeed have more risk but this risk can be mitigated by learning TA and FA and applying them to the trade.

Quote
3) mining is the solving of mathematical problem through computing system when someone send bitcoin to a recipient, a miner must mine the coins in the blockchain before the recipient will receive the coin.
         Conclusion:
In my curiousity to know more about bitcoin, he told me to register in bitcointalk so I will learn and know more from there. So if I make any mistake in any of my writing, please correct me. I am open to correction.

Rather than posting your thought, you could have do some search and read the lots of questions of newbies who got here before you.  You can find out more if you read more and possibly your question can have more depth.
228  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Marry a Coin/Project - Practically Example on: September 21, 2023, 09:43:07 AM
Marrying a coin is like compromising your investment in the future. No one holds guarantees what will happen in the future so if these coins you are hodling suddenly drop and lose their value, you will lose the chances to make future profits. This is the reason why we have to sell if we see the market is giving us opportunities to make profits. And hold when the market is giving us a signal that there is more profits coming ahead.

True!  A trader or investor must set a realistic selling price target.  He should always be ready to part his investment when the profit is realized or the selling price is met. It is not good to set selling price that is not realistic since it can lead to marrying this coins and live with it in eternity.  I have seen many situation like this where the investors setting up unrealistic selling prices only to end up bagholding worthless tokens and coins.

... always take profit.

This is the problem for any investor, to choose the right level where it is necessary to sell the coin. In this case, if the price of the coin is constantly increasing, and you want to sell it at the maximum price, you need to fix your profit by setting a stop loss.

This ain't a problem if the investor is not greedy.  If the investor is content having an average profit an not aim for massive profit such as 10kx.  Indeed one must use the stop loss option in order to protect our investment from too much losses and also protect our profit by selling our holdings in case the price surge and we are waiting for it to surge more, it won't hurt if we set the stop loss option at some point but still in the line of profit just in case the market gets dumped.
229  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: September 21, 2023, 09:25:37 AM
Shuffle has been around for almost a year now, i'm not trying to ruin or promote shuffle. I'm just happy they sent the 5$ for the promo. Chill guys
Hey mate i am well aware that the shuffle team promised a $5 bonus for all that register from this forum using a special code to cliam the bonus m, but at the moment,  i cant fine the code any longer which is what have delyed my registration on the site for two days now.

Do you mind point me to the link where to find the Bitcoin Talk bonus link I would like to use it and also I hope the 5$ is issued without deposits.
There was a condition for the $5 bonus. He said it was for the first 50 persons. Maybe the number of beneficiaries is upto 50 and he stopped issuing the $5.

I missed this announcement so I am also assuming that the 50 limit was already met.

Either way, I tried their platform and the experience is impressive.  The platform UI is great, their games run so smooth that I never experienced any kind of lagging. The site registration is easy too, it is that in order to deposit we need to fill up the Lvl 1 KYC since the deposit address won't appear if we failed to comply with the email verification and Lvl 1 KYC.  The level 1 KYC is just some basic information, no need to submit any ID.  Someone who is very sensitive about privacy may frown about this process but I see this as a good thing since the platform is straight forward regarding their policy about KYC.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Elon Musk keep what he said or not? on: September 21, 2023, 09:07:18 AM
I think the hype of the news about Tesla accepting Bitcoin if the electricity use for mining is 50% green energy is just for publication.  For whatever its worth, I believe the news had already served its purpose.  I do not think that it will cater that hype anymore whether Tesla will accept BTC as payment or not.

Even if Tesla started accepting Bitcoin again I doubt it would have the same impact it did in 2021. The perception people have of Musk has changed significantly since he started embracing controversial political beliefs. Since his takeover of Twitter he has caused it's value to decline dramatically by making changes that the majority of people don't really want. Even after adding Dogecoin support to the Tesla shop a few months ago it's price remains down over 90% from it's all time high. Clearly his influence doesn't really matter much anymore.

Same thought here, Elon's Musk reputation isn't that as high as before.  People are now used to the stunts created by Elon Musk one of the major reason why his influence diminished.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Navigating the World of Online Gambling on: September 21, 2023, 08:48:59 AM
All gamblers both new comers and old ones are awared that there are two things in gambling either to win or to loss so there is no too much awareness again about the dangers of gambling. They are already awared before coming to the gambling section. All casinos are meant to make profit so if they are meant to beat you then it is their luck and if you beat them then you win. And that is why before you play a new game in casino site, you have to read the T/C and probably if possible learn how to play the game before playing the real game so you will know how to play the game. The things Op mentioned before navigating to a casino site are all God to know before embarking on the casino site.

The thing concerned by @OP's post is that not to be able to withdraw winnings from newly created casinos, so @OP is reminding us to check thoroughly.  This is not a matter of knowing or being aware of winning and losing, the discussion is a matter of not getting scammed by new casinos because we got lapses and lazy to check the needed information before diving into the platform and play.

Rouge casino have pretty much the have same terms of service as the reputable one, they are good with pretending to be a legit one in terms of documentation so we need to check for other factor that may identify the newly established casino a promising one or just a rouge one that can scam its player anytime.

In some point I agree with you that before a player choose a game he must do some research about it, maybe trying the demo version is a good way to see the mechanics of the game.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Free Investment tips on: September 21, 2023, 08:26:25 AM
I believe there is nothing free in this world.  If we go for free stuff, we might get an incomplete knowledge which is way less than the basic one.  If we thrive to get this knowledge ourselves such as skills, network of influence and many more, we have to invest something on it.  Every thing have its cost.

For education that is found on the internet, remember it isn't free because in order to access the internet we need to invest for a device, pay for the internet connection and pay for the electricity to keep that device  working.  After all these expenses, we get an incomplete or shallow knowledge of education since what we get on the internet are just some glimpse of these education and streamers won't dive deep of those topics.

We can get some word of wisdom from other people but they won't fully share the full knowledge they have.  With free education without investing anything, we can only get patches not the whole course that can give us an advantage to have a good foundation  .

Network of influence, we all know that we have to spend something on this.  Most of these network of influence can be found through gathering such as seminars, meetups and workshops.  So it isn't free at all. We have to spend time and effort plus money to attend the gathering stated.

Time, it is free all of us have so I agree, but the materials for serious learnings aren't free.

Health, I believe this is the most expensive to maintain it maybe a free investment but remember we have to norture this and maintain this for optimum functionality thus we have to buy food, invest in vitamins and many other supplements.

Cultivation of skill, as I stated earlier we need to spend money for the items in order to practice this talents.  Acquiring skill may probably free but cultivating this skills for commercial use isn't free.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A matter of family conflict regarding Bitcoin. on: September 20, 2023, 07:34:39 PM
It is funny how media use the name of Bitcoin just to get views from the people even though it has nothing to do with the crime.  As I read the article, it is not about the Bitcoin investment that led to shooting but the jealousy of the husband, thinking that his wife is cheating on him reason why the wife wanted separation.

It is not Bitcoin's fault that the man losses money, it is his impatience to sell at a lost or probably the guy got scammed of his money by entering a get rich quick scheme offered by a scam company.
234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Let's share some tips among ourselves. on: September 20, 2023, 07:17:01 PM
we don't know to what extent the market price will correct so it is difficult to enter at the right time even when the market is bearish.
And indeed, in trading we must have a target to make realistic profits for sure and because of that it requires several strategies and also patience to achieve it all.
What you do is a simple thing that is quite good, if you have strong patience then it is very likely that you will achieve many benefits.

However, this is different from me, who uses a lot of strategies in trading by looking at several indications so that I can have a fast turnaround, winning is quite risky, but I think it will be very worth it.

I am more of a long term holder, so I don't do day trade since it needs a lot of monitoring and is tiring for me.  My indicator is that, my reentry point is when the market price moves below my selling price.  Then since it is a bearish market, I average down every dip.  I don't buy in one go, I do accumulation every lower low until I think I have accumulated enough then set a realistic target price not waiting for Bitcoin to break its ATH.  I do not want to get greedy since it can eat up my time and effort, so I am happy with a bit of profit as long as it is not a loss trade for me.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Moment of truth on: September 20, 2023, 07:00:29 PM
To answer the list of questions of @OP

1. Researching and continue updating my knowledge about cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin help me blend into this space.

2.  Its been a mixture of both rough and smooth sailing.  There are times when it is hard to comprehend what lies ahead and there are also times when the market can be easily read.

3.  Don't be greedy and hunt for get quick rich scheme, since it always ends up badly.  Have enough time for learning and keep oneself to be updated.  Diversify not into different cryptocurrency but different types of assets.  Pick Bitcoin as main cryptocurrency investment, it is the safest one in crypto space.

4.  No, I do not have a get rich quick mindset but I do believe in lucky investment.  Investment and learning process are two different thing which can be done simultaneously.  It is the laziness that slows down the learning process.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is The Father After All on: September 20, 2023, 06:43:03 PM
So what's your opinion ?

It is observed that when Bitcoin started to rally, other cryptocurrency seems to follow.  This is the reason why even non-Bitcoin holder also looks forward to Bitcoin halving event, because Bitcoin halving is the major catalyst for the market to transition to Bullish one.  And when the Bitcoin market enters the Bull season, a new ATH is recorded along the way.

The hype of Bitcoin impact other cryptocurrencies because they use this instances to market their own coins and since the sentiment of the cryptocurrency market is positive, every thing seems going to an uphill ride so even the altcoin market is affected positively by the Bitcoin market surge.

Do you continue to save paper money even now?

It sounds like you're into shitcoin buying if you mention coins that become decorations in your "trust" wallet. Why are you interested in shitcoins as a newbie in this field? This creates unnecessary risks when you could be investing in proven and reliable coins. I'm talking about btc or eth (and those closest to the top), as a last resort.

Bitcoin is the best investment for the least risk but for massive profit people are turnong to shitcoins and other altcoins even though the risk is to great that one must consider their investment being lost once the dive into it.  Bitcoin now adays cannot give the profit newly founded projects' coins can give.  This is the reason why many are still risking their money investing into shitcoins and other altcoin projects.

Quote
Even with a stable income, it is not very pleasant to receive losses.

True that, but some people are risk taker and they new they will lose their money more than getting profit but when they got lucky their money may turn 1000x in a short span of time.  That is how shitcoins and other altcoin market works, just like how Bitcoin market works sometime ago.

@OP welcome to the forum, I also have the same experience where I invested in shitcoins and meme coins.  I lost on several investment but one successful investment can recover all the losses plus the huge profit.  Though I always invest what I can afford to lose.

For newbies, I do not advice investing in newly created altcoins because it is really too risky, it is best to start with Bitcoin since it has high liquidity and proven to be in uptrend somewhere of its 4 year cycle.  Though it is not as high return you can get from risky investment from altcoins, at least the risk involved in Bitcoin is very minimal if you have the patience to wait.
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is the language here different from what we use in the real world on: September 20, 2023, 05:58:44 PM
If a person is new in the community discussion and is not yet familiar with the subject being discussed, it is obvious that lots of terms will be new to them.  Terms like hodl is never been a part of regular word in real world outside the cryptocurrency community, it is a word created by a drunk person misspelling the word hold but became widely accepted in this community.

Another thing is when a person is new to trading, terms used in trading will be new to him.  Same way with the term used in discussing terms of cryptocurrency since cryptocurrency isn't much talked outside the cryptocurrency community.  After a long stay and participation in the discussion these language you feel different will become a regular terms for you.

240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No KYC vs KYC enabled casinos (Facts you need to know) on: September 19, 2023, 10:57:22 PM
I think people should stop believing these "No KYC" casinos. Most of them have no upfront KYC but that doesn't mean they are not going to ask in certain cases since it's part of their terms that they can enforce it when necessary. It's only a matter of time before crypto casinos would get licensed so just accept the fact that you'll have to submit documents at some point when you register.

I believe every license casino have to ask for KYC no matter how they hide it as a strategy to get gamblers that is avoiding KYC verification process.  No casino can be exempted from the regulatory board.

I also don't want to play in a casino that has no license because there is a huge possibility that they can exit scam anytime since these casino is not bound to any rulings.  So I prefer a casino that is under regulation than a casino that is operating illegally (without license).
