I just added two Avalon mini's (new from the auction) at 60 Gh/s each.  Can someone recommend a difficulty setting?
1222  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YIFU IS AUCTIONNING? on: October 23, 2013, 02:54:01 AM
I have no history with Avalon. All I know is there was an auction last week. I paid very low sum and have a bunch of miners in my office.
Given the weight of these things, it cost him more to ship them than I paid.

Condolences dwdoc.  That really sucks.  It's times like that you really wish you had an uncle Vini.

Ok,

So i opened the box today and they are missing the power cables, and the little wifi aerial thingy that sticks out the back end of the rig. Need to pop out now and see if i can pick a cable up quickly to make sure the unit itself actually works.

I only bought two and the other i shipped out ASAP to a friend so can't confirm if this is the case for everyone or not. It is possible that the cables and wifi aerials were in the second box? You don't actually need the wifi aerial, it should still be able to pick up signal...there is just a little gold screw where you could fix one onto the rig.

Other people confirm if these things are missing as you get yours in too please... WIFI AERIAL + POWER CABLE

Dimensions of box
20 in x 14 in x 17 in

Actual weight of 1 box
11.2 kg

Dimensions of rig
16 x 9 x 6

Packaging was good with double ply boxes used. and lots of padding. The units themselves are black and have an industrial look and feel. A lot heavier than the Butterfly lab 60 gh units. I hear these Avalon ones can be overclocked to 85 gh/s so i am going to do that tonight.
No instructions or manual included in the box....

Instructions to use:

Connect your laptop to the eithernet port of the Avalon
Setup your laptop IP address 192.168.0.101
Open http://192.168.0.100
Make sure WR703N can access Internet, Configure WiFi: Network -> WIFI -> Scan(select your WIFI network) -> Join Network -> WPA passphrase -> Submit -> Save & Apply for connect to WIFI Internet
setup your mining worker: Status -> Cgminer Configuration.
Restart the cgminer service: System -> Startup,
Check your avalon status: Status -> Cgminer Status
Setup password/using ssh

Thanks!  Can I reimage the new card on my laptop or does it all have to be done on the pi?
Also, what's the difference between the image file and the chainminer files?

EDIT: Anyone?

I restarted my miner for the first time in 2-3 weeks and can't get it going again.  I have a starter kit plus another h - card and two on the way. V1.0.
Here are some screen shots.  Can anyone diagnose what's up?  I am thinking the SD card went bad?  I have never had a problem with it but everyone else seems to be writing about it.

Mines held up at LAX customs for an undisclosed delay.
What is at LAX, 55 nm chips?
Why would you think that? I guess he has his avalon minis at LAX..
Yep. Nine of them.

Mine your own equipment - certainly your right and I'm guessing the smart thing to do.
But then you should have never sold starter kits. You just piss people off by making them impossible to complete with cards.  I'm not sure what portion of the economic model you and your partners don't believe in.  But I understand the one where I give you $500 and for the privilege of mining about $250 worth of coin.  That's not a good model for me.  I would not mind break even.  But this model is broke.
1233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: October 18, 2013, 03:38:32 PM
So it's prob smart to cancel Oct pre-order now and wait for November immediately available order?

once all the october kits and cards are shipped, i expect/hope we will see a drop to <2.5BTC/h-board with immediate availability. This would mesh well with the promise of 2.25BTC store credit on the delayed august stuff

I dont think Dave will have anything for Nov.
That's my concern.
1234  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: October 18, 2013, 04:28:48 AM
I hand it to Dave a BitFury for getting the August orders out the door when promised (most all).  But since then
communication, follow up and product competitiveness have all fallen badly.  This despite the fact he has 2 office people.
At this point it appears the GB's for the USB miners and the Drillbit System group have the upper hand in customer service and likely ship dates for those that want a more reasonable price and need to order now or have ordered in the past month or so.
I would love to pick up some H-Cards (at a reasonable price) to fill my V1.0 M board.  But it sure does not look likely.
1235  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] BitFury H-Cards on: October 18, 2013, 01:45:01 AM
[WTB] BitFury H-Cards for V1.0 M-Board.  I currently have a starter kit with 8 cards. But would like to add to it.

Can pay in BTC or Paypal.

If anyone has a starter kit they are not using, now is the time to sell.

The h-cards are worth less every time the difficulty goes up.

Check out my reputation here and on eBay.  My username is Moonlightminers.

EDIT - 10/25/13 purchased a few but still looking for more

EDIT - 12/09/13 still looking, don't be shy.
