Great looking board. Way over priced.

Here is what I use for my BitFury starter kit.  Works like a charm and looks better than a paperclip.

How does what other manufacturers are doing to clear obsolete inventory effect what compensation you are due? How does the price of BTC effect that? If you wanted to speculate on BTC then you should have bought it rather than miners. How are they responsible for the rise in difficulty?

The product is about 2 weeks late, and 0.05 reflects what it might have mined in that time. They were not obliged to give it to you, but they did. That is far more than most other preorders have delivered.

The 0.05btc compensation will be absorbed in the next batch. If the next batch of blues were going to be priced at 0.40btc, then the price will now be 0.45btc. The loss will be mitigated and will be no loss at all. (that price is an example, I have no idea what future prices of blues will be)

Also, some people didn't just buy the blues to mine with, some people bought them to resell them. The people that have bought them for resale, will have a very hard job selling them at their planned price point due to competitors prices dropping so much. When the price for the blues was set, it was set at a price that was in line with the current market. Why would someone buy a blue for £125-£150 to get 2.2GH/s when they can buy USB erupters for far less money and have far more hashing power? To sell the blues and be competitive with the market would mean taking a huge loss.

We should have been mining/selling the blues we ordered weeks ago but they haven't even been shipped yet. In that time the market and diff has changed vastly.

I feel a fairer form of compensation would have been a voucher for discount off the next purchase, just as asicminer did with the erupters. There would have been the opportunity to give a greater compensation as the discount could have be offset on the next batch with cheaper production costs and there would have still been room for some profit. Also, the profit margin would have been greater on the orders that did not have a voucher. Not only does this reward the people that invested their money to get the first batch produced, it would also serve to generate extra sales.

Ha! They are responsible for rise in difficulty?  These guys are more connected than I thought.

At last some pics!

@Beastlymac : How come the main resellers have not been sent any of these 300 blues? Each person I have spoken to has not received a tracking number and are not expecting a delivery.

It totally sucks... without the resellers group buys you would not have had enough orders to run your batch, you would have had nothing. Nice way to show your appreciation for their efforts. You have left them in the firing line taking the flak for your delays and when you had the opportunity it ease the pressure on them, you chose not to and just looked after a few select individuals.

0.05btc compensation is a joke. That doesn't nearly cover what we have lost due to the rise in diff or the price of btc. The next batch of Bluefury's will have to be priced competitively and will mean a substantial price reduction, so the 0.05btc you give us back will be absorbed in the new price.

When the price for the BlueFury's was set, it was competitive with USB Erupters. The 0.9btc for a BlueFury would have got you about 7 USB erupters and would have delivered roughly equal hashing power.
But the Blues shipped late and at today's rates, 0.9btc will now get you 20 USB erupters, giving you around 7GH/s... way more than a Bluefury.

So does the 0.05btc compensation ease the blow? Not at all.

I totally concur.  I posted the following similar observation at ssinc's thread here:

Code:
Personally, a 0.05 BTC is an inadequate compensation considering all the factors that have been in play and the fact that at this very moment,
I can get 50 BEs (17 GH/s) with a free 49-port USB 2.0 hub for a mere 1.75 BTC.  That equates to 7 BFs at a cost of 6 BTC after the 0.05 discount
is applied (0.85 each)...and they don't come with a 49-port USB hub.

Amusingly, right on cue, some kumbaya lapdogs sort of got their panties in a bunch for merely pointing out such facts.  I'm surprised that you haven't gotten your share of the flak on here yet. Wink

Not a lapdog. Just hate whiner victims like yourself that order risky products from risky manufacturers in a risky business then think they are entitled to compensation when it does not all happen to their liking. So they try to justify their whining using illogical comparison arguments in an attempt to prove they have been grievously wronged.  In reality they have no place in a group buy and we are dumber from reading their posts.
But no not a lapdog.

I missed the section on the OP that said "refunds for any better deal you ever find in perpetuity." WTF?
Really feel bad for you and the other victims of this injustice.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silkroad Gone: Bitcoin Rising on: October 27, 2013, 05:27:16 AM
Actually the only reason BTC went down after that was emotion.  Silk Road's effect on the price was like a fly on windshield - zero.
BUT I will say that other more organized and nefarious groups, like those often associated in movies with Italian heritage, could be keeping more in BTC than anyone cares to imagine.  But they don't build websites and attract attention of the public. IMHO

That's actually a really good point that I hadn't considered.

If I was on the dark-side I would definitely store and move money in BTC.  So much easier than fiat from whatever country.
I actually thought that was one of the theorized reasons for the spike in BTC ($250 at one point) during the Cyprus banking crisis.  Cyrpus banks have long been a parking spot for Russian Mob money due to their poor oversight.  One of the potential solutions to the crisis was the government was going to seize a percentage of everyone's account to bail out the banks.  When that was announced BTC soared.  If I recall properly.  That was the Mob moving their funds to BTC instead of getting a percentage seized.
Someone is probably more up on the details than me though.

200 units have been produced Today and another 400 per day until 1800 is completed.
Quote
300 units will be shipped out Friday and the following 1500 shipped Tuesday next week.

They both add up to 1800. So, maybe the division is not what was expected, but at least its all going to get done. If other manufacturers have failed worse, this one only failed a little bit (sort of like, better late than never.)
Incase anyone is wondering why Tuesday and not Monday it is because Monday is a holiday in NZ so the fab has a day off. Holidays are causing some real issues. Units have been shipped today and tracking numbers will be sent out. Shipping will complete Tuesday next week or Wednesday at the latest.

Thanks for everyone's patience.
Can you give us which resellers you shipped to today and the quantities sent to each?

Your assuming you would not get a refund prior to shipment?  This is not BFL.

I NEED AN IMAGE FOR THE SD-CARD FOR V1 MBOARD FROM AUGUST.
Every link on the forums says "account has been disabled due to high traffic". This applies to all "drop box" links. I NEED AN IMAGE FOR V1 MBOARD SDCARD, BOTH MINE DIED.
Please and thank you...

This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!

I can't believe MegaBigPower doesn't have images on their damn website. ALL SD-CARD IMAGE LINKS ARE DISABLED OR OTHERWISE NOT WORKING. I need a damn image for an sd card for August V1 MBOARD....
At the end of Dave's opening post on this thread.  I just used it a day or two ago.

The other side of the argument here is were we all so naive as to think they would be on time?
Let's count the number of miners that have been produced and shipped when promised...........
I can think of 2 but that's a debate on to itself.  You don't need one hand to count how many on time performances there have been.  It's the 40% difficulty increases that make it particularly painful now.
1216  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Blue Fury Miners V2 2.6Gh/s on: October 24, 2013, 09:37:52 PM
No I was just curious when you said you don't mine.  I don't know the exact number of erupters I sold but it's around 1000-1200.  I saved 6 for myself.  Those are 6 very profitable erupters.  I also have 3 dead ones I still have not exchanged.  You could argue those made money too.
And I'll pass on buying any from you.  I have 20 here and 20 in another GB.  But let me know if you get .8 BTC.  I have a feeling the resale market will be competitive.
1217  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - 2.7 GH/s thumbs 0.65 BTC, 21.7 GH/s boards 2 BTC on: October 24, 2013, 09:25:24 PM
Assuming the black one's specs are measurably better, I vote for them.  Heat can kill us all.
Obviously it has to fit the plane and the double scroll.  And the fins all have to be going the same way on a fully loaded double scroll.
But another $10-20 a board in the name of cooling is probably $ well spent.

EDIT: Or you could determine who gets what heatsink based on their country's 2014 weather forecast.  Really?
1218  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN IN-STOCK SHIPPING] batch #30/31 .035 btc @ 14 USB + 1.1 btc Blade miners on: October 24, 2013, 03:47:53 PM
the only other 49 port hub on the market is $600+   so i wouldnt have my hopes up for a free hub....
You can pick them up used for a lot less. But they are rare and it seems resellers have caught on to our niche market. I would be surprised if a new design was under $300.
1219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Blue Fury Miners V2 2.6Gh/s on: October 24, 2013, 03:44:14 PM

We will have pictures by Thursday I think. In regards to packaging I don't know yet as I don't handle the packaging/posting etc. The packaging should be similar to the simplistic asicminer style.

200 units have been produced Today and another 400 per day until 1800 is completed.

300 units will be shipped out Friday and the following 1500 shipped Tuesday next week.

Just a little photo of units on the production line.

We will announce the compensation after we have completed shipping all the units.

Your numbers again don't jive man. More song and dance instead of being straight forward.
On Tuesday you said 200 units were produced. then you say 400 per day afterwards.. ok. so Tuesday 200 + Wednesday 400 + Thursday + 400 - There is 1000 units that should be done. 1st week of October will not be 1st week of November.
Did you order any?
