However startups are made of solid projects, great devs but also dedicated and enthusiastic communities.

Yes, yes and YES!

Very soon we are not only going to have a dedicated and enthusiastic community, they will also be highly motivated...

Great things are just around the corner now.

Can't force Yoshit if they intentionally fucking with wallets. Their disabling wallets on purpose, magical pumps on coins that have wallets disabled.

Anyone trading on yoshit still deserves to loose.

Well, Yobit is being given a choice... its very simple. Otherwise nobody deserves to lose anything in crypto under these circumstances and its exactly this sort of thing that is behind the beginning of XBY. A new person should not have to wade through mine fields without warnings and roadmaps on how to find a way to avoid the crooks. This is the intention of this in the long run and so they can either clean up their act or they will learn that all the new people, will have ample warning to avoid Yobit, by the time we are finished with this campaign that will be launched in the coming days.

Bottom line Smokim is that its time for the industry to evolve past this sort of foolery.

Nuff said...

ANN Updated for NOVA Listing

Hello Everyone!

We are now listed on NOVA with the added bonus of 2 new pairings for XBY. If you proceed to the ANN page, you will see this information. We hope you will better enjoy the trading experience on NOVA, in comparison to Yobit.

Additionally, we have further HIGHLIGHTED the warning with regard to YOBIT.

This is one more step leading to a massive campaign to pressure Yobit into properly updating the XBY wallet on their exchange. Let's call this the final request to Yobit because they may be able to ban our community members from their troll box who are asking nicely to release their XBY and make it liquid again (on the Yobit exchange), but that's the most they can do and The XTRABYTES Community has waited long enough.

In the grand scheme of things, the Internet has a very good memory. Messages on boards, blogs and social media platforms tend to stick around for MANY MANY years... So, its your choice Yobit... Fix our wallet please.

Thank you!

WARNING to all Yobit Users - Your portfolio may be at risk of major losses if you remain on Yobit. Even those of you not associated with XBY will end up paying the price for their lack of professionalism and ethics in the cryptocurrency trading world. Soon, we will be motivating an army of really pissed off XBY Community Members to post images and messages all over the Internet and the repercussions of this will be that anyone who does a search for Yobit before depositing will find pages and pages of warnings that will never be removed.

In other words, Yobit may not be able to continue operating and that will be their own fault. So, get your coins off Yobit ASAP.

NOVA LISTING

Just letting everyone know that the Nova listing will be happening soon. One of our Exchange Management Team with an existing Nova account has been given the go ahead, along with 1 BTC to get the listing done ASAP.

We don't know when this will happen, but you can anticipate it at any time.

Thank you and have a great day!

... Nova is the best alternative at this stage.

When the situation in China will be cleared, we might want to look to get XBY listed at Binance - from what I have read and heard it is a good second tier chinese exchange  Smiley -> https://binance.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001567991

And I don't understand the communty they want XTRABYTES on exchanges with bigger volume but then they vote for Nova instead of Livecoin  Grin Nothing against Nova - it is a good exchange - but it's volume is even smaller than Cryptopia's..

I think Livecoin lost because they will cost between 3.5 (voting) and 4 BTC (priority) to get listed.

..."the community chose Bter with Nova..."
 why not  Bittrex ?

Please join us in Slack...

This question has been answered there and in here dozens of times. We are not going to Bittrex until the tech is ready. This is for everyone's best interest and no matter what people say, we are not doing things differently. We will go to the big exchanges later, when we are ready with the tech.

Why?

Because we are developing our technology and its enough of a challenge when the community we have gets upset at hurdles we deal with while developing. So, rather than piss off the GREATER crypto community and have them not want to come back later perhaps, it is best if we just be patient.

My advice is to pick up some cheap XBY, get involved with Slack like you are here and then when we are ready you will know everything that is happening and will have been able to make informed decisions regarding getting involved with XBY early.

Thank you for understanding!

Further research has revealed that in addition to some of the unknown factors regarding Chinese exchanges at this time, it was also brought to our attention that there have been a few issues within Bter and we simply feel that at this time, after what has happened with Yobit, the better choice for XTRABYTES is to go to Nova Exchange.

You should have done your "Further Research" on Nova also.

No new Registrations till Sep 30 in Nova.

So tell me one thing - How do you plan to get more community members to XBY when the Nova is closed for New Registrations?
Will XBY forever be traded on Shit exchanges or get to real ones

We were well aware of the registration delay. Thank you for your input as this has not changed the fact that we feel that Nova is the best alternative at this stage.

XBY EXCHANGE EXPANSION

Hello Everyone!

We have recently done a poll to see where the XTRABYTES community would like to expand at this stage in the development of the XBY tech and as you might know, the community chose Bter with Nova in second place and Livecoin in a distant fourth.

While we do our best to listen to the community, there are times when decisions that differ from what the polls tell us need to be made and this is one of those times.

With that said, I can also let you know that I have tried registering with them and due to some upgrades they are making, my registration has not gone through yet. However, as soon as I am active, I will pay the 1 BTC fee and get us listed ASAP after that.

In addition, we have decided that in light of the world of exchanges starting to test the new P2P DEX platforms, we will also register with Securenet BarterDEX. The key reasons for this is to give us an inside look at how a P2P DEX system works.

Why do we want to know this?

Well, you may have heard us talk about X-CHANGE here and there and I can tell you that it is becoming more than a concept and idea for a module now. Work has not yet started on it, but initial plans are coming together and in a few more days I will make another big announcement that will cast more light on the X-CHANGE module, along with a few other exciting developments.

Thank you!

The XTRABYTES Crew

LIVECOIN LISTING OPTIONS

Hello Everyone!

With all the drama with exchanges and such (Yobit in particular of course), I have now taken the time to further investigate and consider Livecoin as a valid destination for XBY. As many of you know, we can vote our way to the top of their vote list and spread the cost of getting listed across the community. Currently the top 3 coins have between 30,000 and 36,000 votes as you can see in the image below:

Several weeks ago, one of the XTRABYTES community members added us to the Livecoin voting page and we currently have 269 votes, as seen below. I think this is pretty remarkable considering that most of these are likely 1 vote by a single individual.

So, I would like to make a proposal to the XTRABYTES Community. We have 2 choices here: One is to pay 4 BTC for priority listing and the other is to jack up our vote count. Either way, we are looking at paying about 4 BTC as you can see by the image below, the cost of 1000 votes is 0.1 BTC and we currently need over 35,000 votes to get to top spot.

I feel the best option is to simply do a collection and gather up the 4 BTC (yes it may be a bit more, but it is a priority listing that doesn't have the "maybe we will list you" risk factor attached to it). You can see below the difference between paying for priority service and paying to buy the votes. I personally think we have enough financial power in our community to come up with 4 BTC to pay this fee and I will personally donate 0.3 BTC to the cause.

Not with Livecoin yet?

For anyone in the community who is not already registered with Livecoin. Please use my referral link: https://livecoin.net/?from=Livecoin-aBsQcCSA. The BTC earned through this referral program will be donated monthly (in a verifiable manner) to the XBY development fund. We will be setting up similar referral links for the other sites in due time and will have these posted on one of our future website sections.

This message is preliminary to get the opinion of the XTRABYTES Community. Should we decide to do this we will organize a campaign in whichever way the community prefers.

Thank you,
Dave

PS. Let us know of any other GOOD exchanges with GOOD volume that our Exchange Manager @cefinnell01 can investigate.

You won't find very many people that have been doing this for very long that think keeping more than necessary on an exchange is a good idea.

If you think it is, you just haven't been doing this long enough. Learn to manage your own security and wallets.

Correct and it is important to note that the task is not so daunting and there are plenty of tutorials out there.

Secure YOUR Coins

This morning I woke up to a report on Slack that one of our members had lost their XBY on an exchange. This is most unfortunate and prompted me to write this post.

The amount of coins and the name of the exchange are totally irrelevant because it can happen on ANY exchange with ANY amount of coins. What is important is quite simply offering some small advice on the best ways to prevent this from happening. So, here we go:

1. GET YOUR COINS OFF THE EXCHANGES

If you are not actively trading your coins, you are taking totally unnecessary risk by leaving them on an exchange (ANY EXCHANGE). Even if you are trading some coins, make the decision on how many you want to play with and remove the remaining coins.

To do this, you simply need to go to our ANN @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864397.msg18538512#msg18538512 and choose your wallet download from the list you will find under the WALLETS section.

The following are the latest wallets which are available:

Windows - https://github.com/borzalom/XtraBYtes/releases/download/pre-v1.2.0.2-win/xtrabytes-qt.exe
MAC/OSX - https://github.com/borzalom/XtraBYtes/releases/download/pre-v1.2.0.2/xtrabytes-Qt-OSX-v1202.dmg
Linux - https://github.com/borzalom/XtraBYtes/releases/download/pre-v1.2.0.2-win/xtrabytes-qt-linux-v1202

2. SET UP 2FA (TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION) ON EVERYTHING

Not only do I have 2fa on my exchange accounts, I also have my Social media and Email accounts all protected by 2fa. For the time it takes to set this up, the peace of mind that comes with knowing that nobody can access your accounts without your password and your phone in their hand is a great recipe for sleeping better at night and relaxing during the day.

Also, for those of you who do not have smartphones, you can still use 2fa through email and even your email can be protected by using a different email to authenticate. The simple point here is to ensure that a hacker would need access to 2 different accounts in order to access 1 account. This is how you protect yourself when dealing with information and finance on the Internet.

Its not just the World Wide Web - It is the WILD WORLD WEB and it definitely can be very wild and savage if you do not protect yourself.

Dave

ANNOUNCING BORZALOM 777

As mentioned, there are many MANY discussions and developments ongoing with the board and one thing in particular that has been requested is an open session with Borzalom.

Well, I am happy to announce that he has agreed to answer questions once per month and so we will turn this into a monthly event.

The name of the event will be 777 WITH BORZALOM and what this means is: 7 questions at 7 pm GMT on the 7th of the month. Our first session will be on Oct 7th which will give us plenty of time to prepare. We will use an audio platform because I believe hearing Borz speak and answer questions in his own words will carry tremendous weight moving forward.

Between now and then we will test a couple different formats and will later announce exactly how this will proceed.

Also during this time, we would like the XTRABYTES community to come up with a list of questions, from which the Board will choose the best 7 questions that CAN BE ANSWERED. Please post your questions in Slack at the #xtrabrainstorm channel or you can post here on the forum also.

Thank you!

SEPT 4th MARKETING BLITZ UPDATE

There are several exciting developments in the works that the XTRABYTES community will be very happy to learn about. The website is close, the initial non-technical whitepaper is close and we even have a roadmap on the way. In addition to this, we have a surprise coming that we feel the community will be very excited about with regard to development funding and there will also be some paid advertising and incentives for community members.

What I can tell you is that the Board and the Developers and other assistants are all working very hard and there is a massive amount of discussion happening on how to bring all of this out, in step by step fashion, for the best result and benefit of the XTRABYTES community. All of this discussion has resulted in an inability to properly finalize some key aspects and thus we are going to hold off on releasing the information until we are all satisfied with what we will present to you for the 90 day marketing blitz.

Yes, we understand the desire to get things rolling on this date and we would have liked to also. It is better that we wait and not roll things out prematurely.

On a side note: the next phase of TESTNET is coming soon and will include the PULSE and VITALS system. After that, if the tests go well, Borz will be able to start migrating to the Zoltchain.

Thank you,

Dave, Zoltan and The XTRABYTES Board

I've been wondering what ccrev meant by development funding. Sorry if it is similar to what im going to mention and ruin the surprise and I have no inside information.

But I wondering one solution might be to have an inhouse ICO for an APP for Xtrabytes. Maybe a simple app like a messenger or something that makes use of the securoty and storage cababilities could be taken on by coders in the community and they could take a cut of ICO and say 40% could go to XBY development fund. Their incentive wpuld be first access to the core and deployment, first voted by nodes and would of course get the backing of the community who would invest knowing they can make money and also fund their xby investment. Win win maybe..

Just floating an idea..

I am thinking the development funding change will most likely be another lowering of the transaction fee. If not, then I am hoping for a DAPP release such as a messaging platform or simple cloud storage app, both of which would probably have XBY usage fees to generate the additional funding required. Imagine WhatsApp, but in the lovely black & blue XBY design scheme.  Cool

Just my thoughts.

We like surprises here Smiley So, lets all be good kids and not peek at the presents under the tree or try the 'ole guessing games, 'cause if its not what you hoped for then there is no disappointment! Wink

it is the cold wallet of C-CEX exchange.
in April that wallet had 427m.
So it's just been slowly being redistributed to holders since then and they have a hot wallet too for being able to instantly send you coins from.

Ok.  I'm wondering why does CCex only have 1/4 the volume of cryptopia for this coin if most of the coins are stored there?   The next biggest holder only has 20m+ coins which i'm guessing is cryptopia.  I'm not familiar with the exchange history, is there a reason for this?

Ccex was the first exchange I think for xby. The scam bitox that Borz forked was there so people who bought into it think then had the new xby coins on ccex. Yobit was also very early to get xby once the fork happened and actually was where most early investors bought and had thr biggest volume over ccex. Then yobit were dicks and were very slow with wallet upgrades so everyine ran away fron yobit and chose cryptopia which seems quick to update wallets. Ccex has been a little patchy with wallet upgrades but I think they are generally trusted....as much as any exchange can be.

Also its only 12% and I expect that to drop and. My bet is there is more xby on cryptopia now but they arent showing a cold wallet address.

Im also surprised ccex has such low vol though still people are still keeping some on there. Mainly its just a preference thing...cryptopia is an upcomong exchange I think. Personally I would recommed moving off any exchange into a wallet and only keeping on an exchange what you are willing to lose.

I think one of the main issues with C-CEX is that multiple times per day their site is down for either 7 minutes or 15 to 20 minutes (according to their popup) and so the odds are very likely that since this has been going on for months now, people are probably tired of not being able to make fast moves as a result.

Otherwise, yes it is a very good idea to get your XBY into a cold wallet or at very least an encrypted desktop wallet and just leave them there.

At this moment, our testing has only been with the online nodes using Proof of Signature consensus. The next stage of development will be with the PULSE and VITALS, which will be the full technology behind XTRABYTES.

This is a great development and it is already a revolutionary security model in the crypto world where all the trusted nodes sign the blocks rather than one randomly chosen anonymous node.  Looking forward to how the rest of the technology with PULSE and VITALS will unfold to even further enhance the security model.

Currently, you can go to http://testnet.xtrabytes.global for the block explorer where it's possible to review the signed blocks. However, at this time only 1 block is signing with all blocks accepting. The final version of POSIGN will be different because current tests are ONLY being done to validate the POSIGN concept.

Therefore, what you are seeing right now is the PROOF OF CONCEPT for POSIGN with block creation and validation occurring without POW or POS.

I'm not clear on this one. Is the one static that is signing the block the same fixed one for every block, or one static is being randomly chosen to sign the block and then the other statics accepting it? Would the functionality where all the statics will be signing the blocks be implemented at a later stage?

If you follow the link (it looks like it is down for another reset currently) to the explorer you can see the miner that is signing each time. It is random with a priority sequence being tested currently. Eventually all blocks will be signing, yes...

Since the link is not working, I will provide the following image for review, which was taken a couple days ago at the end of the first test run.

I was responsible for a big chunk of the buying over the last 24 hours...

Basically, my strategy which has served me well over the 6 years I have been in cryptos, is what I call the "cherry picker". I simply do a lot of research, find coins that show HUGE potential based on a number of criteria, ensure that the marketcap has a favourable risk/reward ratio, and then I go balls deep and hodl for years Grin

Additionally, I only go for gen 3 coins meaning the backend is something other than a gen 1 POW/POS system, preferably not even gen 2 (e.g. dPos-based systems, ETH). I consider gen 3 to be structures such as a DAG https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directed_acyclic_graph (Byteball,IOTA,ADK), Block Lattice (Raiblocks), or something entirely different than what is currently out there (what MAID is working on, what DLS formerly WBB is about to come out with, what Radix is about to come out with, and this new Proof of Signature that Xtrabytes is developing).

I really like what I have seen so far with the devs and community here and I have no doubt that Xtrabytes is going to be a huge success.

Keep up the great work!

NEWBIE TIP: Just by being in this thread you have already picked a winner. That's not the hard part. Being "right" is easy - now you must "sit tight". Buy as many Xtrabytes as you can, put them in cold storage, forget about them, come back in a couple of years. Thank me then  Smiley

PATIENCE is all it takes.

Welcome to XTRABYTES!!

Thank you for joining us and sharing your wisdom! I hope you will be joining us in Slack also?

Guys i have a question.
I'm running the test Xtrabytes client, however i have all my XBY on C-CEX.
Is it safe to transfer my XBY from C-CEX to the test-wallet or should i wait for the final official one?

Hey Niklasmato ,

Do not transfer your XBY to the Wallet Test !
We test XBY with COINSTEST.
Rule144 will make a TEST COINS transfer on your Wallet Test.
You will be notified as soon as a new test session starts and you will receive your test coins at that time.
The test is free, never transfer your real coins in the Wallet Test

The latest live XTRABYTES wallet is on the ANN https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864397.msg18538512#msg18538512

If you scroll down a bit you will find the wallet. You can download from there and install it to send your coins from C-Cex.

The TESTNET wallet is totally different and is only shared in the TESTNET group. The TESTNET wallet also very clearly indicates it is TESTNET with its background image.

Thank you!
