Been following this on yobit this week how do I buy a static node? just buy 1m coins and put in the xby wallet? Can I backup offline for security correct?

Read on page 20...i followed the instructions

Are there any wallets for MAC?

Hi Brad! You have this answer in the slack channel.

I think a few people have tried this MAC wallet now... it is OK to be posted on the Github and ANN?

Hello

I joined the adventure but can you tell us more about security? Thank you

Is the compromise with the static nodes that this part becomes more centralized with respect to the bitcoine, to a maximum number of 650 static nodes?

How will static nodes support DDOS protection?

If there is a price peak and 90% of the owners of static nodes are liquidating, will the network not be much less secure?

The long-term renewal of static nodes is destroyed at the static node over time. I do not think the good deterioration of the number of static nodes from a first block is a good idea.

Sooner or later, you will face the turnover. You can set up a lottery or static nodes competing on the price, or a first come, first served, that is to say 300 knots max, if the number goes below 300 then the portfolio that signaled the setting Static node level, the longer is upgraded to the static node on the network.

Thank you for your post!

I am hearing that we are not going to have to worry about this. Please continue watching as more information is revealed about how the system actually works.

As for people liquidating, this can happen and we will deal with it at the time. However, I think that as we construct this company that people will not opt to sell out of what can become a long term income stream from the SHOCK rewards. Also, if they want to sell, there will be buyers provided that everything we are working towards is coming to fruition.

The first priority of all of this is to create the successful company and with this we will have sufficient STaTiC nodes available and not willing to close them.

EDIT from Borzalom:

With STaTiC nodes, 90% of the connections are made directly to other STaTiC nodes and the other 10% are connected to nonSTaTiC nodes.

An attacker or attackers cannot know all the the STaTiC node IP's because only 10% or less are connected to untrusted nodes. If any STaTiC tries DOS then the others will immediately blacklist and disconnect the attacker STaTiC. Other nonSTaTiC nodes have access to only 10% of all efforts and transactions.

Your other question about why an attacker will try to attack?

All STaTiC nodes have empty wallets and only ONE available STaTiC is enough to sign the blocks... we don't need more. Other nonSTaTiC nodes also share and accept blocks that come from a trusted STaTiC. I think it is impossible to receive a successful DDOS type of attack. I also think we will not have to wait long before some creative script boys make an attempt of or course if it is possible to to a DDOS, I will find a solution ;-)

We need to get Xtrabytes on Coin Telegraph, I'm sure that will explode the price. Dev can you look into that. Just to spread the word.

Normally I would say making a forum once a coin has matured is a good idea but i think even soon a dedicated forum would be a good idea.

RE: Cointelegraph...

Fantastic idea... but I would prefer to wait until we have the STaTiC nodes up and running before we step into the ring like that...

Definitely on the agenda though!

Thank you!

566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XtraBYtes - The Proof of Signature Blockchain Database on: April 25, 2017, 05:03:56 PM
bought some more while at work computer. hopefully wont be fired for doing  Grin

I dont know why the price has not rocketed yet. but kind of gllad it hasnt yet.

Talk to your boss, he/she might thank you for introducing them to a great way to earn extra money! Wink

I have been trading in these markets for about 18 months and I have seen that in general when a coin does a news release, the price normally goes down afterwards (even if the news is good) and ours did also, but after the release it was like being in the twilight zone  Grin There was ZERO reaction for a fairly considerable amount of time while people read and digested what we released... I think we made a big impact!

Then by the next day we had haters standing at the door... and slowly the price went down because there will always be people unsure and they sell. Otherwise, we have maintained what is the current floor price of XBY and that is the 40 to 45 satoshi range.

So, this shows us that we have raised the floor price by 4000% to 4500% in the last week and soon I think we will see the price starting to rise again to the next floor price. This will continue for several months as we release more and more information and sections of the coming XtraBYtes technology.

Don't sell your XBY... buy more so you can be a STaTiC Wink

Can I suggest a new moderated thread when the team get their ducks in line and have a new website and someone to do the graphics etc. All great coins early on get FUDed to death because traders are frustrated they can't buy a large amount cheap so they want the price drop.

agree. I wonder if we should change the name later. its fine for crypto but its not very user friendly if average people use it.

A new moderated thread may be something to consider and we will discuss the PROS and CONS of this in the newly forming committee (if interested in being on the committee, please see this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864397.msg18740035#msg18740035 )

Changing the name? You mean to not use XtraBYtes?

I personally believe this is the most powerful brand name we could ever ask for in the space we are entering. We can and will build massive campaigns around this name.

I am about as worried about the FUD and Trolls as I am about going to the bathroom later... but if they lie and are rude, they are shown the door with truth and collective hammers.  Cool

Anyone informed by reading our thread is a solid supporter of XBY and XtraBYtes. We do not need to worry about the people saying bad things in an effort to drive down the price of the coin so that they can buy low and sell high...

It's all good and just brings more attention Smiley

568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XtraBYtes - The Proof of Signature Blockchain Database on: April 25, 2017, 04:35:17 PM
Do we have an estimate when static node registration completion will be launched?

It sounds like the next version will be available at any point, but we are not going to put timelines anymore... Borzalom is using every available amount of time he has to get this set up working 100%. He does not want a messy blockchain being released.

What I can suggest is for everyone to practice the setup steps... and also (for anyone who has not already done so) take the time to review the history of XtraBYtes on the 3 different forums (start with the ANN and down the page you will see links that go back) and once you see that everything is genuine and as we say... buy more XBY or spread the word.

An informed community is a STRONG community...

Thank you for being part of the XtraBYtes!!

569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XtraBYtes - The Proof of Signature Blockchain Database on: April 25, 2017, 04:24:42 PM
I think that it is better to spread after the whitepaper comes out

This may not be a bad idea... however we are a long way from being ready with the whitepaper.

This is new technology, it is experimental... Borzalom is building and tweaking all the time... The job is getting done, don't misunderstand and he will create magic, but the whitepaper cannot be completed until we have everything up and running 100% because this is what the whitepaper is all about.

This is why we are "estimating" a 2 to 3 month timeline for the whitepaper...

For a small fee,you can submit to Novaexchange and since there's already had a strong community support and many are now coming in to supprt this coin, you can submit it to their trading platform you only need 250 votes and every users can vote once daily.

Thank you Aoic! We have discussed this exchange a few days ago and it did not appeal to anyone.

I personally fee we should focus on getting listed on Bittrex and as another member suggested, Polo may pick us up if we continue growing organically like this...

What are the benefits of being on smaller exchanges like Nova and others? What are the MAJOR Altcoin exchanges we should be shooting for other than Bittrex and Polo?

Can we please have some opinions with regard to setting up a listing on Nova?

Thank you!!

My Question:

OPTIONAL

6.) Creating EARNINGS Wallet:

a.) Type the following commands: mkdir earnings (click enter) [Please notice the name of the directory now... this is the EARNINGS directory and this is where you could send all your SHOCK earnings if you wish to keep them separate from your MAIN SPENDABLE wallet.]
d.) Type the following commands: w6xupxtrabytes-qt.exe -datadir=earnings (click enter) [Now a new version of the XtraBYtes wallet will start and this will be empty (assuming you have coins in your MAIN "spendable" wallet) and therefore it is a completely different wallet.]
e.) Copy-paste your RECEIVE address and IDENTIFY it as your EARNINGS wallet.
f.) You can use this wallet address for your STaTiC registration and if you have multiple wallets, you can use this same address for all your SHOCK rewards to be deposited from each of your STaTiC nodes.

Should this receive adress from step 6) be inserted in the spendable wallet address of the static nodes?
              g.) Close the wallet

Yes, this is done if you wish to have a SEPARATE wallet to know your income without having to sift through your transactions on the MAIN wallet.

Keep in mind that when you download the QT for the first time, this creates a wallet... this is what we call the MAIN wallet and this can also be your SPENDABLE wallet if you do not wish to create another. The system will default to this address for payment if you do not specify the EARNINGS wallet for payment in the STaTiC node setup.

I have a question:

Whats the benefit for a user to setup a static node. I mean from a technical point of view, i understand the necessity, but from a user perspective why should i setup one? Maybe i am missing something but didnt see any benefit for the regular Joe to setup one.

You receive an income, with nodes normally a very good one.

Yes, thank you for your assistance Troy.

In the not too distant future, XtraBYtes will begin selling decentralized shared hosting to the internet market. This will compete with large "centralized" companies that offer online storage and these companies are effectively hackable because they have a central location and point of attack. Therefore, this is not the best solution for people with sensitive documents and everyone knows this.

XtraBYtes will compete with other companies in the crypto world that offer "decentralized" online storage, which are NOT hackable because there is no central point of attack.

Without getting into more details or comparisons, I will just say that our closest competitor charges 1.5 cents USD per GB per month and 5 cents USD per GB downloaded.

All these fees are included in what the STaTiC nodes will be paid.

Each ONLINE STaTiC node during the block groups will be paid an EQUAL share of these profits.

There is no corporation set up yet, but we believe there will be something in place (will be decided by the committee we are forming) and whatever expenses occur from the corporation will obviously take away from the profits... However, a corporate face can and will skyrocket XtraBYtes into the mainstream, which means higher and higher XBY prices and this in turn increases the SALEABLE value of your STaTiC node as an income producing asset..

So, all of this is being constructed at this point, but this is the direction we are heading.

Thank you for your great question!!

Good day Everyone!

There have been some fantastic ideas and suggestions, along with endorsements and other ideas over the last 36 hours since we released our info. Thank you all for this support and encouragement!!

As we have always maintained and will forever maintain... XtraBYtes is a community coin and together we will build success.

With that said, I want to start assembling the committee that was suggested by CCNCCN a few days back. Anyone interested in taking part in some of the higher level decision making, in addition to Borzalom, myself and CCNCCN, please contact me by PM or join us in the Slack @ https://xtrabytes.slack.com/shared_invite/MTcwODkwNDUzMDU2LTE0OTI2MjQ2NzktYTAxZTFlYTUzOA .

Please be advised that your access to the committee requires an external wallet with sufficient XBY to own at least 1 STaTiC node (1.000.100 plus fees).

Thank you and have an AWESOME day!!

XBY is a powerful vision with massive potential. Still cheap to buy XBY. My advice is to Buy XBY when it's still cheap. you will not get this chance again for sure. its have huge community, when they hit it it will go high

People are now starting to buy and tales notice on the potential of this coin, but they need more exchanges, the worst possible scenario is when Yobit put your wallet in maintenance mode,do your pumps in other trusted exchanges or you will all regret later like all the other coin maintenance..

Thank you for the heads up... We are working on it and will work harder on it tomorrow

Great advice!

After Pos Sig is up.. what's next?

How much does it cost to get onto Bittrex?

Hello Ozboy! Thanks for posting over on Yobit Wink

Once all the STaTiC nodes are online and everything humming, the programming focus will switch to setting up the storage system. I have been given a briefing on this also and although I do not have the ability to compare, nor do I know much about what Borzalom is talking about, he tells me it will be unique and will be the best system for decentralized shared storage. If this is what he is telling me, I believe him because he delivers on what he says.

There will be many things coming along the way for the XtraBYtes community and it will be revealed bit by bit so that we can do similar promotions like this last weekend to get more and more eyes and energy into our space.

At this point, we should start to focus some time on CCNCCN's suggestion to assemble a team to discuss important decisions.

Today was a very unusual day after I believe we rocked the crypto world last night and found ourselves facing some haters today...

We will look into Bittrex... Not sure how much it will cost.

Thank you again for your support!!

Thanks for the info. Keep it up.

It is relatively a new technology. Those who have missed the boat with Darkcoin (DASH) here's your second chance Smiley

WOW - Thank you for the strong endorsement!!

Have a great evening! Smiley

https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202583854-Submitting-a-Coin-to-Bittrex

Seems as if it wouldn't cost anything to get XBY added to bittrex. Only kind of tedious and time consuming for the developers. But they like new technology.

Thanks Mx01, I have read this now and will follow up with submitting this tomorrow.

Now its late and my brain is shutting down again Cheesy
