Are you hyping for the altcoin that fills your pockets?  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
I am sure that Litecoin's price will spike hard after the SegWit implementation, but not like what people expects (i.e., 0.1 Bitcoin per 1 Litecoin).

I would be jumping for joy if your numbers came true.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have my pockets full of LTC and my home boys do too! on: April 22, 2017, 02:58:11 PM

LTC at $15.00 in 24 hours.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / I have my pockets full of LTC and my home boys do too! on: April 22, 2017, 01:36:20 PM

WoW! Are you guys watching, just Wow!
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Who had soft hands? on: April 22, 2017, 11:48:50 AM

And just recently sold their LTC because they thought Segwit wasn't gonna happen? As you may or may not know, an agreement has been reach, that should be able to sustain a segwit signal at 80%. Bitmain and others are now on board with SegWit. Isn't great, that the Litecoin community was able to work together like this?

Anyhow, I did not panic, and I did not sell my LTC. Look at it now people, and it's only just begun!  Many people did panic in the last week. LTC had lost 100 million cap, which has mostly been regained. Hell Yes! I got my mojo back baby! Yes! Lets go LTC!!!

8-Hour Miner Meeting Ends With Litecoin Scaling Agreement

Litecoin's scaling debate may be coming to an end.

A group of miners and exchanges is throwing support behind a new proposal, an agreement that follows weeks of increasingly acrimonious debate over whether the technical upgrade would be enacted on the litecoin network, the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Backed also by the cryptocurrency's creator, Coinbase employee Charlie Lee, the statement endorses a "Segregated Witness soft fork on Litecoin", which would bring a scaling upgrade first proposed for bitcoin to litecoin, most likely sooner than it could be activated on the bitcoin blockchain.

According to organizer and litecoin community member 'PZ', the meeting was held on WeChat for over eight hours, from 12pm to 8pm Beijing Standard Time today.

Created by bitcoin's development team, the SegWit upgrade has long been lauded for the creative way it seeks to increase transaction capacity without needing to alter hard-coded block size rules. Litecoin, like bitcoin, also has a 1 MB cap on the total capacity of transactions per block, and as such, it faces similar scalability constraints long term.

Overall, the statement endorses a collaborative approach and blasts the use of so-called user-activated soft forks, or UASFs, as viable scaling alternatives.

The post reads:

"We agree that protocol upgrade should be made under community consensus, and should not be unilateral action of developers nor miners. We advocate that Litecoin protocol upgrade decision should be made based on the needs of the users, through the roundtable meeting voting process, and activated by miner voting."

Miners backing the proposal include Bitmain (Antpool), BW.com, BATPool, F2Pool and LTC1BTC – a combination that represents roughly 68% of the hashrate. That number rises to approximately 84% if you include LTC.top, which is reportedly controlled by the same owners as LTC1BTC according to the meeting's organizer.

Notable among the participants, however, is Bitmain, which threw its support behind a potential block size increase as well in the future – provided that capacity usage rises over a certain threshold.

Speaking to CoinDesk, Bitmain co-founder Jihan Wu confirmed he was personally in attendance at the meeting, despite his long opposition to the same upgrade on the bitcoin network. He said that it was the combination of SegWit, with a promise to support on-chain scaling solutions, that ultimately led Bitmain to back the proposal.

"Charlie [Lee] promised to provide solution of increasing the block size when it is half full," he said.

Going forward, it's unclear how quickly the capacity upgrade could be enacted on litecoin. Miners will now need to signal for the upgrade by downloading the latest software that includes support for SegWit.

More than 75% will need to signal for the upgrade, and this figure will need to be held for two weeks, according to the original proposal, published with the software in January.

"When the usage of litecoin block capacity is over 50%, we will start to prepare for a solution to increase the 1 MB block size limit through a hard fork or soft fork," the statement reads.

According to organizers, efforts are being made to bring other parties and stakeholders within the group, including exchange services Bitstamp, BTC-e, Bitfinex and Poloniex.

Sounds like great news!! It looks like the leaders at Litecoin, are much better at coming up with deals than the Bitcoin folks. I will retain my LTC for sure.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Why is Litecoin rising again? on: April 21, 2017, 12:28:03 PM

With the Segwit Signal well below 75% now, why is LTC on the rise?Huh Don't get me wrong, I am glad of this. I was not one of the ones with soft hands, and sold immediately, after it was evident that segwit was not going to happen in period 6.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC Segwit is over 70% on: April 20, 2017, 05:27:16 PM

Where is the Litecoin leadership, and what are they saying? It looks like there is starting to be a lack of organization. What are their official plans for the currency? It does not appear That they can sustain 75% for not even a few days, so what is the plan? Are they just going to take it in the rear from Jihan Wu, or will they stand up to him and do something??? I see no official word anywhere. It doesn't look like a good sign.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Jihan Wu flexing his muscle on: April 17, 2017, 09:24:30 PM

Looks Like Jihan Wu brought a bunch of GHS online to signal against segwit for LTC adoption. Signal currently below 75%, so is segwit over, or how does it work?
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: April 17, 2017, 11:38:29 AM
LTC highest value was 50 dollars during the pump in 2013. There are many altcoins now compared to 4 years ago. It would be a miracle if LTC can go above 20 dollars as the supply of coin is increasing and demand is lower than the supply. LTC is rising now because of SegWit. After that, its price will drop below 10 dollars again.

I think that talking about the supply is no longer very revelant nowadays, at least for big established crypto-currencies. Take Ethereum for exemple : its supply is infinite, growing nicely each day, but yet it is the most valuable crypto-currency out there. And I definitely think Litecoin has a great potential, not to reach 1000$ of course, but maybe to reach 15$ in a long-term point of view.

$15.00??? Where do you come up with such a clunky figure??? As I write this it's at $12.78. Yesterday it was at $11.70, and we are still approximately 10 days from SegWit activation. It most certainly is going to go past $15.00. The market cap is at $640 million, up $70 million in a couple of days.

I believe if segwit activates, and it does not on Bitcoin, then Litecoin can become an investment vehicle. I think one thing that is attracting investors also, is how much tighter of a community the litecoin community is. If they can get themselves together now, before the value rises too much, they can set up the currency for the future, and this could be great for wider adoption. Regardless how torn apart the Bitcoin community is however, I wonder whether they are stupid enough to let Litecoin steal its thunder?

I just hope that if or when segwit is activated, it doesn't become a pump and dump. I would love to be able to invest long term. Regardless, I bought all I had available to buy in LTC ($690.00) worth if it goes to just $35, I will be very happy. Smiley
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Craig Wright turn out to be Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 17, 2017, 02:24:40 AM

]Sure, Wright could move known Satoshi coins and it would be known that he is satoshi, however the absence of this movement does not disprove that Wright is satoshi.

The only way to truly disprove something is to prove a certain set of circumstances that would make it impossible for this something to be true. So, in order to prove that Wright is not Satoshi, someoen would need to show that it would be impossible that Wright is Satoshi (one example of this would be to show that Wright was in a coma when Satoshi was posting).

I would say that the current evidence shows that it is highly unlikely that Wright is Satosh

The Burden of proof is on Wright since he is the one that came forward to make the claim that he was Satoshi Nakamoto. As others have mentioned in this thread, Craig could have easily proved that he was Satoshi, either by signing Satoshi's public key, or he could have moved some of his bitcoins. He has not done so. So I conclude that he is a liar, and an idiot. I say an idiot, because with his knowledge, how could he not realize that the evidence he presented, would be looked at by computer experts, and then be debunked?

Furthermore, he chose to submit his evidence to journalists, who he knew were not that technically sophisticated. I just don't get what he was trying to do, honestly.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: April 17, 2017, 02:12:55 AM
Due to so many scamcoins, I see LTC going up to +$20 soon. But I do not think that it will go to +$1000, and the first reason is the market cap. It would make LTC go past BTC, which I see impossible as Bitcoin was the first. Why would an Altcoin ever be better than Bitcoin, if this was the original idea?

The group behind Litecoin are trying to do a lot right now to increase the value of the coin. I don't believe it's a scam coin, however, if it can gain wider acceptance, from vendors, and governments, because of the technologies that segwit will bring to bear (if adopted), then I see it going way up in value.

The litecoin community appears to be willing to work together, at least more so than The Bitcoin Community.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 60,000 Unconfirmed transaction and counting on: April 16, 2017, 12:42:02 AM
Time to kill this thread. Unconfirmed transactions down to 6700.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: April 15, 2017, 11:51:34 PM
"Never" is a long time.  Could litecoin go to $1000 within a year?  Probably not, but crazier, stupider, more unpredictable things have happened in the world of crypto.  So yeah, never say never.  Imagine asking people in 2009 if bitcoin would ever be at $1300.  They might have laughed you out of the nerd fraternity, but here we are in 2017 and we hit that mark.  Litecoin definitely has some advantages over bitcoin, so you just never know.

Agreed, I think that segwit can add value proposition to ltc because of the feature sets that coders can implement if segwit were to be implemented.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: April 15, 2017, 11:12:59 PM

$100 is difficult value for litecoin, but ltc is no need segwit in my opinion, the hype of segwit just give a short fomo for ltc itself. I think your speculation looks non sense.

SegWit adoption on LTC is not for block size increase. It will allow coders to add many other features to LTC. Maybe $100.00 in the short term, may not happen, but it's not inconceivable for LTC to get there.

135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have to pay 10% or 20% extra will you still be using bitcoin? on: April 15, 2017, 11:04:44 PM
The reason for this might be tracked here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1865675.0

Unfortunately the thread has been hijacked by non believers and sig spammers.
So I thought about having a more mature discussion.

Two situations:

a) the price of the same good but it cost you 25 instead of 20 if you pay with bitcoins and not a damn visa

Happened to this poor guy, yours truly, when trying to fap a bit on chat website.
Joke aside unfortunately it happened also when I tried to purchase damn video card, and an extra of 7% was added so I said screw you!!!!

b) the real problem nowadays with micropayments

The transaction fees are going up.
So if you buy like the guy who opened the other thread a cup of coffee, you might end up paying double because the damn fees.
And this is not good.

Micro transactions are getting killed. Insecurity and price jumps are making people to add extra when you choose btc checkout.

For the a case we have a solution. Boycott the damn gerbils.
But what we do about the micro payments.Abandon ship and discard them? Turn bitcoin into a store a value and large payments only?

Or go with the improvement? larger blocks ? LN ?

Before making your voice heard, try not to post some two line shit around , k?

Depends, if sending bitcoins remains cheaper than any other form of sending money, then yes. I doubt btc will get up anywhere near that high, anytime soon though. NO worries.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Craig Wright turn out to be Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 15, 2017, 10:48:59 PM
So what you are saying is that, he potentially is a scam artist who tried to fool the non saavy. What a clown really, if true.

reason being is
without ever having any PRIVATE keys. he simply copied a load of early PUBLIC KEYS which he knew would not move funds because they were the satoshi stash that had not moved in the couple years before he copied them.

he got a friend to set up a trust. and notorise the PUBLIC keys as the "proof" of collateral (first fraud)
he then insured that trust (second fraud) for a large valuation to 'legitimise' the trust.

then he used that trust to get MILLIONS from the australian government (third fraud)
then he used the new valuation of the trust + australian tax grants to grab further investments (fourth fraud(and now playing a shell / ponzi game))

..
in 2015 the auzzie government smelled a rat and chased him. he fled the country and ended up in england.
he thought he can save himself by trying to convince media that he was satoshi to then use media stories as 'proof of identity' (fifth fraud) to hope it would make the auzzie government to back down..
it failed because within hours of showing:

people recognised it was old public accessible data

now he is trying to create and apply for patents to try making new collateral to fill the void of old collateral(fraud1-2)
hoping it will be enough to sell the new collateral to cover all the legal costs and debt/civil fines and reimbursments he will have to pay the aussie government if ever extradited back to australia

..
now you should be upto date with all the drama

+1.

Everyone should read Franky's post here.
Satoshi N. was in my opinion David K. who died in 2013.

Is it kinda weird, that death spurned a big surge in price that month?

No one knew that David K.'s death meant the destruction of supply of bitcoin because his death meant destruction of the private keys....right?

...I mean wouldn't htat mean almost 1million in less supply of bitcoin?

How did David K. die, and what were his special skills?
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: April 15, 2017, 10:23:01 PM
Lol never in 30 years. Currently price of litecoin is just 1% of the amount you predicting. Maybe 100$ would be a better target but 1000$ is too much. Currently 50 million ltc is circulating and max supply is 84 million so even if there is any chance for it to reach 1k sufficient supply wouldn't be left.

lol, yes, $1000.00 sounds high, I would be happy if it goes to $100.00. Oh god, that would be great. Let SegWit happen in 2 weeks.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Craig Wright turn out to be Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 15, 2017, 08:46:19 PM

Only an idiot would think you can outwit public key cryptography. The irony is, that he was a cryptographer, no?
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Craig Wright turn out to be Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 15, 2017, 08:25:06 PM
nope he is not

nope the evidence was not convincing

it was a signature that links to a known satoshi address

Take the signature being “verified” as proof in the blog post:
MEUCIQDBKn1Uly8m0UyzETObUSL4wYdBfd4ejvtoQfVcNCIK4AIgZmMsXNQWHvo6KDd2Tu6euEl13VT C3ihl6XUlhcU+fM4=

Find it in Satoshi's 2009 transaction:

the thing is.
ANYONE in the last 8 years can copy it, its public information.
so although it does say that it validates to a satoshi known address. does not mean that craig wright is satoshi

as for the 'social' evidence
emails posts and communications have been logged publicly so its easy to read, rehearse and revise them until you memorise them
i would have questioned anyone that did know the finer details of things said 6 years earlier. because they know too much for someone that might have said things on a whim to remember so clearly without 'preparing'/rehearsing.

after all if you registered a domain 6 years ago.. would you know off the top of your head the exact time/date you registered it. without preparing by checking out the info

So what you are saying is that, he potentially is a scam artist who tried to fool the non saavy. What a clown really, if true.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Could LTC go to $1000.00 ? on: April 15, 2017, 08:14:17 PM

Could LTC conceivably go to $1000.00 if segwit were to activate in 2 weeks, and I mean in a fairly short period of time.

If not $1000.00, what could LTC go to???

Would love to hear from you guys/gals
