2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from hackers. on: March 01, 2020, 02:43:12 PM
As I was reading news today on cointelegraph, what i read really shocked me. It was about a new trojan. The trojan can affect exchanges apps. The trojan get access to specifically google factor authenticator on devices and steal it. Use the link below for the full details

https://cointelegraph.com/news/threat-alert-new-trojans-targeting-major-crypto-exchanges-apps-discovered

I am new to cryptocurrencies  but I gained a lot from this news. We need to stay connected everyday to read news because cyber criminals are looking for ways to steal our coins.

A week ago, I read about the safest wallets, I found out that the safest are paper wallet and hardware wallet. The wallets are offline but to make a transaction, you have to connect it online. I later read of a malware that can steal cryptocurrencies  from trezor or ledger nano in just 15 seconds which are the best hardware wallets.

So, we need to know how to manage our wallets too and have a strong antivirus to protect us from hackers and also we need to know the latest threats from cyber criminals so that we can protect ourselves away from them.
Knowledge is our best weapon against all these hackers. If we are going to stay ignorant and miss out the most important news in the market every time, then we would end up becoming prone on getting hacked. Always stay updated on which antivirus would function best on protecting your information and at the same time, know and find some ways on how you can give your account the best security it should really have. If you are going to let your account lie down without any protection from hackers and you are being careless, then don't be surprised anymore if one day you lose all of your wealth.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT BITCOIN on: February 29, 2020, 05:57:08 PM
It happened that yesterday a secondary school teacher who teaches in a private school visited my office after sighting my banner about learning how to buy/sell bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. He told me he heard bitcoin could make him to become very rich at the shortest possible time. He was willing to offer me money since I have a physical office where I sell bible/Christian literature. I objected him, but took out time to educate him about bitcoin and the blockchain technology how it's possible for it to change his financial fortune with proper coaching and a determined heart of discipline. He was very concern about who will buy the bitcoin from him and if his fund will be trapped, I showed him the bitcoin market capitalization and he jerked in surprise, and talked little about custodian and non-custodian wallet. He was fascinated and at this point he is more willing to underdsatnd the market than just investing without knowledge.

Just before he left, I gave him a serious caution never to give anyone his money with the hope of getting a weekly or monthly dividend, and never to buy and coin that promises to display bitcoin in 3 years as such promising a big price growth. He promised to visit again with his I-pad and diary to start practical class.

Our little exposition of bitcoin and its working principles can help save innocent investors from Ponzi and scam promoters. I never had such opportunity 3years ago, had to read online.
Bitcoin is an opportunity everyone shouldn't miss, if you don't know anything about it yet, it would be best that you start studying it. Afterwards, try out if you can invest large amount of money on it but make sure that you always monitor's it price so that you may know when are the best time to buy or sell. If you are going to be distracted on other things, then you wouldn't be able to work out your investment. Bitcoin is something you need to pay attention with and you should exert all your effort on it if you truly believe on its capability.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will the Halving affect the BTC price? on: February 29, 2020, 05:24:27 PM
How will the Halving affect the miners? According to the laws of demand and supply, the scarcity of the Bitcoin supply will lead to an increase in Bitcoin demand, leading to a rise in prices. Is this only in theory though?

This is what I got from an article on the Bitcoin Halving and its theoretical effects: https://elitemininginc.com/2020/02/what-is-the-bitcoin-halving

But I think miners can't afford to proceed on just speculation. Or is that exactly what is going to happen? Seems we are entering the bear market again and we are only a few months away from the Halving
Most of the speculation says that the halving would help bitcoin's value boost up but considering the fact that it's still just a speculation, we cannot consider it as an assured result of the halving. As we wait for the halving to happen, if we believe that it would increase bitcoin's price, we should already start setting ourselves ready for it so that we can make the most from it and avoid letting it slip away out of our hands. Be mindful of what may occur if that happens and atleast monitor bitcoin's value to see if the assumptions are real.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a failed experiment? on: February 29, 2020, 05:03:39 PM
Today I'm thinking of selling my BTC even though it would be a big loss right now I've been with BTC a while and used to the volitility but this time I believe it's different

I was a believer in BTC and the future of crypto I believed having 1 or more BTC was a smart thing to do that many would look back in 10 to 20 years wishing they'd bought some when it was still obtainable by the regular Joe.

Now I feel that BTC will trend down hitting sub 1 dollars prices possibly even 0 over the next 12 to 18 months. the current coronavirus outbreak has been BTCs first real test and it failed hard and failed immediately. It's not a store of wealth and its failure to hold value in a economic down turn is spectacular and visible to all.  Today I think BTC is a failed experiment. What are your thoughts?
Considering the success bitcoin was able to reach, I don't think we can consider it anymore as a failed experiment. If it was a failure, then it would have ended up way back and was not able to remain at the top for so long. With the upcoming bitcoin halving, we should be wiser on what we are doing with our bitcoin. The halving would surely boost up bitcoin's value so it would be best if we are going to set ourselves ready for it and make the most from it. It would be best to try than to regret if ever the said circumstance would happen.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if the all countries convert to cryptocurrency? on: February 22, 2020, 08:03:20 PM
Now that more and more countries are starting to go cashless (http://www.bbc.com/capital/story/20180427-does-a-cashless-society-benefit-everyone), is it possible that we also start converting to cryptocurrency? If that happens, what do you think are the advantages and disadvantages? Paying virtually is very convenient for me as I do not have to bring cash and it prevents petty theft but what is the disadvantage?

I don't find it beneficial as many countries goes cashless, it may only form competition to those recent cryptocurrency present in that certain country. If ever that happens, one of the advantages we can consider is the efficiency and convenience while for the disadvantages is the abuse of power that may be applied as some organizations or the government commit power tripping . It's not really necessary for a country to make cryptocurrency since there are a lot of some pre-existing digital currency at the moment.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus is a Fake Flag to destroy China! on: February 22, 2020, 05:56:04 PM
Crytp Related!!!! Be patient...

This one is easy....

How many die from common flu a year in U good old U.S A? =

The CDC estimates that as many as 56,000 people die from the flu or flu-like illness each year...

How many people in usa? = 327.2 million

Ok.... thats simple... now this....

How many common flu related deaths in china a year? = Just try to google this statistic now now??? its crazyyy..

how many people in china? = 1.386 billion

america is shutting chinas economy and the media is playing along and lots are buying it all... i have a friend in wuhan a teacher and all is good.. apart from too many kids to teach shes over worked lol...

The People's Bank of China is “close” to issuing its own cryptocurrency, according to a senior official. ... According to patents registered by the central bank, consumers and businesses would download a mobile wallet and swap their yuan for the digital money, which they could use to make and receive payments.12 Aug 2019

Is there a connection?? why the big fuss...

thoughts?
I can see corona virus as a false alarm for the world to see China as a threat to the world. If we would take a look back on what happened before, China was against crypto and banned it completely but after awhile, it turned down its bad view about crypto and started tolerating it. Although the corona virus outbreak started pumps on different coins, we cannot still be certain that it had a correlation to the pumps that occured. Maybe it is just a coincidence somehow that's why I chose to monitor the market value more than to rely on the phenomena.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Real reasons to Why do you gamble? on: February 16, 2020, 04:58:12 PM
Maybe it's asked before, still, it will help us a lot.

Why do you gamble?

Why do you do not invest that money instead?
Why you do not donate them?

Because you are bored?
Because you are looking for entertainment?
Because you are going after the big score?

Why?
It is mainly because of the desire of being rich someday that's why I entered gambling. Though my desire is high to get all the wealth I could possibly recieve, I do not get myself involved in gambling too often. I only risk on gambles whenever I have excess income from my investments which I think can be considered as self control. If I would be too greedy and crave too much for money, there's only two things that may happen to me in gambling, I can either reach what I am aiming for or end up in lots of casualties which will eventually make me broke.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TIPS FOR NEWBIE GAMBLERS ! on: February 16, 2020, 03:45:42 PM
I used to gamble a lot starting from 2005. I will share some useful tips for a newbie gamblers.

1. Do not deposit anything, before your account is not fully verified. Because any bookie will accept your bet without verifying your account, but if you win and request a withdrawal, they will refuse and ask you for verification. You might not pass it for a lot of reasons, like bettors from your country are not allowed to use that bookie, or the documents provided by you are not acceptable e.t.c...

2. Do not bet a big amount of money, because if you will win, bookie will use all tricks to not pay you big amount of winning. Most common reasons you will hear are multi accounting, fraudulent activity, incorrect bets, e.t.c.. They will simply block your account and confiscate all your money. In some cases bookie might return only your bet amount and refuse to pay winnings.

3. Do not be fooled by some kinds of "Super Promotions" like "Place multi bet that will include not less that 4 positions with minimal odd 1.4 and if only one position loose we will return you the half amount of the bet" Multiply bets gives a big advantage to bookmaker because the possibility of win in case of 4 multi bets is equal to 20% or even less. Also avoid any kind of bonuses, because if you will accept them, you will find out that 4 rollovers bets are required to get 100% of offered bonus. Any promotion or bonuses offered by bookmakers are nothing but a way to force you loose more of your money.

4. Avoid playing slots, because all slot games are pre-programmed to 80/20% in the bookies favor.

5. Avoid to accept so called casino bonuses that are offered by bookmakers, that have integrated casinos, in addition to sports betting. Because, some of them can actually confiscate any money you try to withdraw before you will satisfy the bonus “terms and conditions”

6. Sometimes you may see that all poker tables are busy or a lot of players are online playing different games. Don't be fooled. A lot of bookies are using pre-programmed bots to create a fake buzz and make you believe that a lot of gamblers are betting big amount of money and their platform is very popular.

7. Always play only for fun. Bet only what you can afford to lose.

THIS TIPS DO NOT MEAN THAT ALL BOOKMAKERS ARE SCAMMERS AND ARE PUBLISHED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
All of these tips are very essential and needs to be followed strictly or else you might end up losing lots of money. As a newbie, you do not really know how things works inside a gambling site so you better get some tips and advices which may help you avoid scammers and lead you to higher probability of winning. It is very usual to see scammers and fraud inside a gambling site which should be a reminder that we must double our precautions to evade any possible interaction with them and never ever trust a stranger specially during the game.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health 🤕symptoms on: February 15, 2020, 03:41:16 PM
I have read this article: Youth gambling problems: a public health perspective I consider it important for gamblers, Gambling addiction greatly contributes to drug and alcohol abuse and theft. Joining a casino makes you lose a lot of money and smoke a lot of cigarettes and wine, This, of course, will pose a major threat to your health!!!

Can crypto really give solutions to gambling addicts?
-Eliminate drug and alcohol addiction.
-Get rid of bad habits like theft.
-Reducing the risk ratio.....

😉Did joining gambling make you addicted to drugs and drink?!!

There are times wherein gambling and drug addiction becomes correlated to each other since there are instances wherein it feels good to commit both at the same time. I find it more dangerous whenever such things occurs since drug addiction pushes you to decisions that you will definitely regret later on since it is less intellectual. In my case, I do not collaborate gambling to vices cause I know it can affect my decision making. It's a strategy actually and somehow it helps become smarter with your decisions in gambling.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: two gambling games that are players favorite on: February 15, 2020, 02:39:31 PM
There are two games gamblers like this are card games and dice games ive seen people who look for this games everywhere , because this games are easy to learn and dont need too much effort how to do it, at the same time there is a bit high chance to win, aside from other games do you agree with me, feel free to share ypur opinion thanks
Those two are the most famous and the easiest for some reasons too but the bets on such games are really high. I've experienced playing those two but you should not belittle these games cause strategy on these two are quite complex and you should definitely think about your decisions before committing it too. You can also see lots of gambling games that involves cards and dice since the efficiency upon playing these are much better compared to other games like betting in sports which are much easier and you do not have to think about your decisions on it for too long.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: February 15, 2020, 01:37:28 PM
2020 NBA Talk
Let's talk about 2019/2020 NBA regular season here.

-Archive-

2019 NBA CHAMPION Toronto Raptors
Finals MVP: Kawhi Leonard

**

2018 NBA CHAMPION Golden State Warriors
Finals MVP: Kevin Durant

**

2017 NBA CHAMPION Golden State Warriors
Finals MVP: Kevin Durant

**

2016 NBA CHAMPION CLEVELAND CAVALIERS
Finals MVP: LeBron James

I think for this season, Lakers has the highest probability of winning. Even though there are super rookies all over other teams, they wouldn't be enough to beat Lebron's team for this season. Golden State is already showing that it wouldn't even have the capability to make it even in the playoffs after having Steph and Thompson injured and Durant moving to Nets. Giannis may become a rival to Lebron and we are all excited to see them brawling in the Finals for the championship, same thing for Russel and Harden in Rockets which can be a scary combo for a team since they are two MVP candidates often.

Conor McGregor said he's in talks to box Manny Pacquiao, and a prominent boxing reporter says the Filipino is interested

LAS VEGAS — Conor McGregor said he has been in talks to box Manny Pacquiao, and a prominent boxing reporter said the Filipino is interested in the fight.

Business Insider attended Wednesday's press conference at the Palms Casino Resort's Pearl Theater for McGregor and Donald Cerrone to build interest in their UFC 246 welterweight fight at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.

McGregor mentioned that his plans included a return to the boxing ring to improve on his losing record, having been defeated by Floyd Mayweather three years ago.

McGregor said he thought he did well against Mayweather in 2017. "With adjustments, I'd do better," he said. "Now I'd take victory."

Do you think this fight is possible? sure, it's gonna bring a lot of money for both fighters and this should be a better fight than conor vs mayweather because we might see the power of Manny here punish a trash talker conor.

What do you think on this article?
I don't think that is a good idea for McGregor. Manny Pacquiao is a legendary boxer and is very close to defeating Mayweather way back. Having the fact that Manny almost ended Mayweather's undefeated record, that makes the probability of McGregor from winning the match. I would definitely bet on Manny if this would happen. I am confident that I would win if that's the case cause the boxing ring is Manny Pacquiao's element and the octagon is McGregor's which somehow predict who will be the winner.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling websites need to add self-control functionality! on: February 15, 2020, 08:29:28 AM
Lately, I've been gambling a bit too much again and it's impossible to add limits to most crypto gambling websites.
Heck, I've found it to be impossible to just remove your account, without contacting support.

I think it should be mandatory, or at least standard, to include easy ways to prevent members from gambling.
In my country (Belgium), legal gambling websites are required to have player-imposed limits, plus general limits on their websites.
I wish crypto-based gambling websites would do the same.

Anyway, I've just sent an e-mail to the one casino I was still playing on, to close down my account. I hope they'll do that without any issue.
But still, I wish they would just add a function to do it by yourself, or add some self-control functionality.

I.e. let people exclude themselves for X amount of time
Gamblers tend to surpass their limits whenever they feel good or frustrated that's why adding a self control functionality would definitely help a lot most specially to those who have severe addiction. Instead of gambling sites being too greedy, they should instead mind their players monetary status so that they can still keep on gambling without experiencing bankruptcy. Anything that is too much in this world can destroy you that's why self control is a must and shouldn't be ignored by everyone most specially for the gamblers.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing did you feel you must return the soonest to win back your losses? on: February 14, 2020, 05:24:20 PM
I found it as one of the most interesting question from this article. http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/ga/content/20-questions

Do you guys have that kind of feeling when you are losing in gambling?
Whenever I am experiencing consecutive losses in gambling, I tend to stop for a while to strategize and think of the mistakes I've made from my previous defeat. If I am going to let myself be controlled by my urge to regain from what I lost, I would definitely end up losing higher causualties. I consider it as a huge mistake gamblers commit, losing self control can definitely end up giving you greater disappointments so be wise and smart with your decisions whenever you are gambling.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you gamble? on: February 14, 2020, 04:54:42 PM
Are you gambling everyday?
twice a week?
once in a never again?

if you gamble everyday, can you stop whenever you want or are you fully addicted?

would love to hear more on your habits here on the forum.
I usually gamble whenever I have extra income from my investment. I'm not the kind of person who would gamble everyday since I know the risk and I'm not that wealthy yet. Most of the time I would just join campaigns wherein amidst the long wait of the income, I would still wait firmly for the profit with higher probability of assurance. Instead of gambling that is too risky, I choose to take a risk on those that has high probability of winning. I can control myself in terms of gambling and I consider it as an advantage.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among us here has been addicted but successfully cured addiction? on: February 14, 2020, 03:14:42 PM
I read that there are people who are addicted in gambling but they are successfully cured from addiction, I'm interested to know what are the methods they do in order to get cured from such addiction, I use the word cured because gambling is a serious problem, I call it as a disease, so please share you experience so we can also help those who might have been experiencing an addiction right now.
I agree that we can consider gambling addiction as a disease somehow that sticks on you till it consumes everything that you have. In my case, I have been into gambling addiction way back 2017 when bitcoin's value was still very high. I was confident enough cause my investment went very well till the day came where all of the profit I made from my bitcoin investment was all gone. My fellow investor and friends helped me to cure my addiction till I was able to completely end it and regain all of my losses.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, stop when you are winning or stop when you are losing? on: February 14, 2020, 02:47:12 PM
I like to know your opinion about the question because I believe every gambler has a different way of managing himself.

My answer to the question is I can easily stop when I am winning because I am afraid I might end up with nothing since I know to myself that I am not yet consistent enough to win in gambling, however, based on my experience, I can't easily stop when I am losing despite the fact that I already set up a limit to gamble in a certain day or a certain session.

Do we have the same attitude or not?
Obviously it is easier to stop when you are losing than when you are winning. As long as you are being fortunate with your game, you should just keep on going but still be mindful of the money that you have already won so that even if you'll lose later on, you will have some extra money hidden from them. In the end, you will still be winning amidst losing. If you are already losing for too many consecutive times, take a break and strategize then come back again to play and try your fortune once again and see if it is your time already.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Leave gambling, if it destroys you. on: February 14, 2020, 02:03:01 PM
Sorry in advance whether this topic has been created or not.
I often see topics related to stop gambling.

Arise in my mind, everyone is easy to say stop gambling but doing it is very difficult.
So I have the urge that every individual can stop gambling by having the seven elements that I give below.

Thought:
Many gambling addicts think to stop, but emotional problems that encourage individuals to have more money when winning in gambling games, the biggest impact is the opposite that gets is defeat, not to mention the impact on the family when problems arise: "I want to stop gambling". Out of the mouth.

All that is based on the mind, no, sincerely to stop gambling.

There are things you need to remember to stop gambling, not based on money, money is just greed: again, again and again.

To stop gambling there are some addicts to do.

1. Intention: the main capital intention in determining individuals to stop gambling, if someone has a strong determination to stop it will have the percentage of someone actually quitting gambling.
2. Individual mindset: this is very heavy, most difficult for many heavy addicts to do.
The mindset of individuals used to associate with gambling gangs, the mafia, now change the mindset and associate with wise, good, and respectable people, little by little addicts will wake up and the days are full of good deeds.
3. Family: in this case it is prioritized, first the family in the number position......now the family is made number 1 more time with family.
4. Hobbies: this also supports to stop playing gambling, used to be a hobby of balls, horse racing or elements that easily fall prey to gambling, now switch hobbies that do not blend gambling, such as reading, hard work, etc.
5. Debt: if the habit of debt, for now stop, accept it as is, do not look too much up, multiply look down, which needs to be remembered, above the sky there is still sky, below the ground there is still land, thankful.
6. Positive: positive thinking can also encourage someone to be more confident, first thinking evil now thinking positive patterns.
7. Greedy and emotional: stay away from this trait, if you lose in a bet you think placing more bets to win, it's all gone, you get sheer destruction, so you, have to take decision number 5 "debt" front of destruction for your, that's for sure.

If you do the above I believe that anyone can get rid of the habit of gambling.
The important thing to do something that must be a commitment in determining success.

For me gambling is fun.
Anything in this world that is unhealthy to your lifestyle should be stopped. You can consider gambling as one of the biggest hindrance for you to become successful most specially if it is already unhealthy to you. Self control is one of the most important thing that you should have if you are going to gamble. Once you enter gambling, there's only two options and you should set yourself ready on whatever may happen. If you are just a careless one, you should never enter it to begin with.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing did you feel you must return the soonest to win back your losses? on: February 14, 2020, 09:14:47 AM
I found it as one of the most interesting question from this article. http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/ga/content/20-questions

Do you guys have that kind of feeling when you are losing in gambling?
I think it is just natural that we have this feeling or urge to regain what we've lost. Many gamblers surely experience it but in my case, I wouldn't go back right away. I would learn and study things on how I could win the next time I play and see what I did wrong or what caused me the loss. I think it would be unhealthy for your investmeny if you are going to be too regretful from losing so instead of letting the urge to regain, the best thing you can do instead is to strategize so that you can surely get back all that you've lost.
