Gambling and Superstition

In the most popular casino movies, we can often see the women standing behind the gambler because of the superstition that gambler believes will make his luck prevail. In the real games that the gamblers are playing, there are many things they are doing repetitive hoping that they will win because of their strange habit. I alone had some strange habit. I even don't remember what I was doing but I can say that this unusual habit was just satisfactorily for my mind and not for my final win or loss. Superstition is the popular habit among the gamblers and it is interesting to see someone doing something that he is believing is bringing him the desired luck.

I find superstition kind of uplifting, i don't really believe in them but in a way some rituals are fun to do and to follow especially if you get lucky afterwards. One of my traditions when playing poker is to always play a Queen and a deus till the end even tho i might have a weak hand and i'm 100% losing, till this day i never lost a Q,2 Hand.

I didn't know a woman standing behind the gambler was considered as good luck. Really? I guess that I learned something new today. I would have just guessed they did that in movies as a form of sexual intensification for the viewer... because it looks better than an old fat man.

I think if you looks back to your habit it is obvious that this superstition didn't result in you winning more or less. IT was just something you made up in your mind and thought it helped you but really it didn't.

When you're losing your hope, you need something to spend your trust in and it's should be a superstition.

Not really. I tend to think that only week people need to explain random events somehow. The same people like to blame their mistakes on other people or their lack of luck.
I'm not a superstitious person although I've been tempted by it when I really wanted to achieve something. I was so afraid to spoil it that I'd do any voodoo magic to reach my goal.

People indeed tend to blame others or just the circumstances for their losses , for the lost money that they placed on the bets they chose with their own will . Such hopeless person will try to find any other thing/person to throw the blame on in a attempt of getting a cleared consciousness about the money (if not the life ) that they have lost . Being strong enough to admit our own deeds is crucial in all life activities not just gambling , and if the person is too scared to face the consequences then why taking the risk ? .

That's fun to know that you are also superstitious, sometimes I blamed myself for doing such things as I may call it stupid but sometimes it also give me a win, in the end I realize that whatever our actions in gambling as long as we are having fun on doing it, we should not count our loses anymore.
Winning is really hard for me that's why I always bear in mind to limit my bet since I don't have the skills to bring me long term success and all I can benefit in gambling is just to be entertain.
