Bitcoin will probably crash along with it. The difference is Bitcoin will probably recover and gain value even if USD doesn't.

most likely scenario, is that another big fiat(euro) will take the throne and bitcoin will be valued with euro, so no bitcoin will not crash because usd collapsed, there are multiple pairs out there not only bitcoin/usd

I don't see the dollar crashing in the short term. Sure the America has a lot of debt, but this is not something new.

It has been a tendency since decades. The FED will come with a genius idea/measure and save the day... like it always has happened so far.

Well they always have an option to start a war! This is a last resort and I think this is inevitable if dollar would ever crash! Americans won't let that easy their money supremacy, remember this!

Their broken debt system actually still works only because of their world currency supremacy!

Sooner or later US Dollar will crash. When it happens most probably US government will face with issue of seperation. Most of the wealthiest states dont want to pay other poorer states debt. I think huge US debt will eventually will make US Dollar cash and this will lead to new countries and borders for USA.

Just my speculation:)

BTC is relatively linked to USD so I don't think it would be directly beneficial but it might encourage people to adopt a new payment system and BTC could get the advantage of being that system, with that I doubt there would be a massive crash in USD price anytime soon in my opinion.

For a dollar to drop, lots of factors are always analyzed and taken into practice. United states is the current superpower and with privileges they enjoy, I cant say it will be able to crash. The dollar through research has depicted the fact that it has , it is and it will be stable. This is the reason why in most of the countries is used as the official mode of transaction. This just justifies the fact that it is a strong currency which is here to stay.

It will create chaos. The states would aim for independance, the world would need a new currency leader.

Altough the dollar is doom to crash (the debt is just too large), we have sufficient replacements; bitcoin, euro etc.

Should not decline the situation of a perfect storm. A couple bad decisions of the financial authorities of the leading States could lead to unpredictable consequences that can bring to their knees the entire global financial sphere. Unfortunately every year we are approaching this situation.

This is not something bad.

Global currency's have been changed a lot the last couple of centuries

When the US dollar sacks, another currency will step up and take the lead.

No need for panic.

I don't see a dollar crash alone, european currency isn't at a good moment, and economic problems are around the world. It can be an small devaluation from traditional currencies against bitcoin and gold. But its difficult to predict because governments try to hide its problems.

Yeah exactly. If the dollar crashes a bunch of other currencies depending on the dollar will collapse as well. It won't happen without a bunch of consequences.

i am sure they will create thousands of billions of worthless fiat to save the usd at any cost. i don't think we'll need to worry about a collapse any time soon.

its how it will always be.. i dont know how much we still owe? we are in the trillions right?

the u.s will never collapase lol.

And until it does, what do you expect the world to do?
Do you expect the Sheikhs to accept dollars for their oil and wait for it to recover?
Do you think no other currency will be able to step up and take its place?

I don't think that the us dollar can crash as it is the most popular currency in the world, but the inflation will destroy and decrease the value of one dollar gradually

I was thinking about this, what if the US Dollar crashes like speculated by many renowned economists around the world?
What will be it's affects on the beloved currency, BTC?

There are multiple reasons why people say things like this.  One, is to control the dollar and the economy itself.  There are more than 50 pages in the latest economy guides that describe the methods by which a group can modify the overall strength or weakness of a given economic sector.  Things like wars and conflict are strong tools, as fear is a motivating factor for many spending sectors.

It will not exactly affect any value of bitcoin. They are not really mutually exclusive with each other .However the chances of btc going up at the same time is likely to happen since people won't afford to buy any with the prices of dollars crashed. But we all know how crashing of US dollar affects the world economy it will impact all the bitcoin to fiat transactions .

they will accept euro, in the maintime, or cny or the biggest fiat after dollars, it's not like there is only dollars out there

but it's better if fiat collapse because it was "sucked" into bitcoin, than in another way, so we have a real global currency to use

As long as US remains as the most powerful and influential Country in the World, I believe Dollar will not crash and will be replaced with something else.

I don't think that the us dollar can crash as it is the most popular currency in the world, but the inflation will destroy and decrease the value of one dollar gradually

It can take a significant beating however. Take the 2008 GFC - the value of the USD plummeted against most of the major currencies and only stabilised around '11/'12 and started making a recovery.

In theory it could completely collapse if something catastrophic happened (i.e. US was nuked) and investors lost confidence in America - but the odds of something like that happening are incredibly low.

Haha what an irony this would be if we all would embrace Euro just for this house of cards to fall apart right away after! This would be really something!
