What's the cutoff?
Up until the bet ends. do you have any problems keeping balance considering the weight of your steel balls? I believe the correct phrase is "Balls of Steel". Steel is remarkably light. I think the appropriate term here would be Brass Balls. Or maybe marbles, as they might be shattered in 2.85 weeks time. I think osmium or iridium is more like it.... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmium

In fact, given the reduction in centre of gravity, Matt would be a well balanced individual if he had osmium balls. Hence, it is much more likely he has steel balls.

So, if pirate does pay out, Matthew gets his investment back and can pay out some of it for these bets. If pirate doesn't pay out, then Matthew covers some of money he lost to pirate. Nice hedging strategy. correct me if i am wrong, but aren't you backwards.. if Pirate pays, he gets investment back PLUS all these bets. If Pirate does not pay, he has to pay all these bets.. so he is adding to the bet that pirate will pay.

Matthew: Bitlane's investment is not paid back. Ie. Pirate already defaulted.
Don't waste your money in these matters anymore.

It is my money to waste, you don't need tell me what not to do. Thanks for your concern though. If you'd like to profit off of your surety, feel free to put your money where your mouth is, otherwise, this thread is not for talk, it's for action.

This bet has a 3 week timeframe. It probably would have been better to do two weeks to match Vandroiy's bet, but I feel like the difference between 2 and 3 weeks is minimal.

Monday has passed and still no word, not a single peep from PIrate. The last thing he said in the chatroom was "Now back to your regularly scheduled trolling". I wonder if he's fled to cancun or something. Someone posted a link (perhaps as a joke) of an address to a live feed of a plane that was going to South America. Who knows. Either way, I feel I haven't been fair enough to those who are wishing to use this bet as a hedge to their potential losses in Pirate and I'm raising 2 numbers: - amount of maximum bet - You may now bet up to 250BTC per person
- amount of posts required - You must now be a 250+ post established member or find someone to escrow the coins for you
Cheers

Cheers Crazy bastard. Well tell you what, my bet, with payout address 3CK4fEwbMP7heJarmU4eqA3sMbVJyEnU3V, happens to be the firstbits 3c. So if you win, I'm just gonna give you the associated private keys. This is a deal you're not going to get again! (er, until they make another address type...) (offer contingent on me not having done something really dumb and used a key in the p2sh script that I can't give away, but I'm pretty sure I didn't do that)
