No reasons to worry: [23:18] pirateat40: ultramancool, only because of past performance (or trust) but legally with it being an unregulated asset at least in the US, anyone could just run with the money and never heard of again.[23:21] pirateat40: EmanuelDeOrtego, nothing will happen, just a waste of money.

Then you should have read Matt's rules before betting with Matt in Matt's thread. Too late now, you're in. I'm not saying there's wiggle room, and I'm not saying there should be wiggle room, but if Theymos is really going to be distributing scammer tags, the real questions are these: 1) Who does Theymos think won the bet 2) Is Theymos biased now that he has money on the line 3) Does 2 matter in bitcoinland To be sure I don't piss off a mod for no good reason, let me add to clarify that (3) is not about Theymos or even this forum. I recently made a similar post about such concern with GLBSE and OBSI.HRPT. See here: ... My point being in both cases that we are in the wild wild west, not that anyone is abusing power.

No, the thing is Matthew made it clear that the bet was about if Pirate would pay as stated in his thread, and Pirate states that he will send back the funds with full interests.
My bet is made under those two statements. I have no problem honoring it if Pirate pays in full with interest.
.
Then you should have read Matt's rules before betting with Matt in Matt's thread. Too late now, you're in. What about it being too late? That's what Matt's rules are. That he lose if Pirate doesn't pay as described in his thread. What does pirate's thread say? That he'll pay back the coins with extra interest. If people agree to a partial payout, people have not been paid as described in Pirate's thread.

Especially after some are repaid in full. Time is ticking. Bitlane's refund was due last Friday, which triggers Vandroiy's bet Friday next week - 2 weeks grace. (Matthew's bet started counting from Monday this week and will resolve at September 10th tops - 3 weeks grace).

Yeah, I'm not afraid of that. It's not about me having second thoughts about the bet. It's about why everyone seems to thinks a partial repayment would/could be in Matthew's favor. It's written black on white that pirate must pay in full with interests for him to win the bet.

MNW's bet makes more sense then buying TYGRR.BOND-P for > 0.5BTC, which people do as we speak. Still seams like free money essentially... If there would only be a way of shorting GLBSE bonds.

I think you guys are going to get burned by the ambiguous wording of this bet. Namworld already pointed out (as have I in other threads) the caveat that allows matt to win the bet, even if pirate doesn't pay in full...
Be careful guys....I dont think there is a chance in hell that pirate pays in full, but the way Matt has worded this bet, he still has a good chance of winning. Don't let greed cloud your judgment.
I think if a grouping of large investors (especially the operators of the Passthroughs) agree to a reduction and MNW claims that the bet is won with that, Thymos will just have to pull out the scammer tag en masse. The OP was pretty explicit that Pirate had to meet the obligations in his thread, and Pirate was explicit that all investors would be paid back the funds owed plus interest up to the hour.

Yeah, either pirate pays everyone in full or we get proof of a complete list of lenders each of whom explicitly states that they agree that reduced payback satisfies the deal. Neither is going to happen.

I'll start to believe that pirate is starting to pay when I see bids at face value for the GLBSE BurtW bonds PPT.[A,B,C,D,E] as stated. In the event that BS&T stops payments and returns the principal and interest to date or changes its terms and conditions so that the intended pass through of interest is either stopped, pays lower interest or at a schedule that does not align with the PPT bonds the bonds will still be redeemed for their full face value on their scheduled redemption date. PPT and the above mentioned backers will cover any shortfalls from the capital reserves of PPT.
In the case of a total default event by BS&T (failure to return our funds to us) you will receive 25% of the face value of the bonds from the capital reserves of PPT (0.32 BTC per bond).

Actually not. Matthew himself stated he knows it's 100% or he loses. I bet based on his statement in IRC 100% isn't going to happen. Better get my coins ready Matthew.

Is betting still open? If I can get the bet on my terms, I'm in I guess.
5btc 19j1Gum75LdYJ4ChHa919aWG1UMEcS8LGR My bet is that pirate will default. Defaulting means not paying out 100% to all investors (including interest). Partial payment (regardless of any agreement by pirate) counts as a lost bet by Matt.
