Thankfully, I escrowed my 40btc bet and have actually received the 80btc from escrow.

Thanks Matt   Smiley

The fact that he allowed escrow early on makes me think he intended to make it a real bet until it was clear he was going to lose hehe

I guess he intended to set up a heads I win, tails you lose scenario. Hence the limited use of escrow. The fact that he did some escrow (I'm presuming its true) makes me think he intended to win and get btc or scammer tags galore doled out.

If anyone wishes I can PM the whole log. Not posting it cause I don't feel like editing it.
The fun part starts there, with pirate offering to take on his bet and matthew refusing it.

So either...
Matthew truly believed he would win
or...
Matthew's "lesson to the community" and going out with a bang was worth the loss of a potential $100K

The debt of a bunch of scammer tags?  If I put up a big bet, I'd take the scammer tag option.

He offered to escrow my bet (with a 3rd party, of course) I foolishly trusted him. This is also one of the reasons I believe that the initial bet was authentic. He thought that he was going to win...

No. That quote was only to post the time, nothing more. The real proposal(s) is(are) a little further ahead of that.

I didn't know he escrowed some. That's interesting and definitely lends credence to it being a real bet initially.

Holy shit! There are over 200 posts to this thread today alone. How the hell am I suppose to do my valuable research when I now have to read all this to make sure I'm not missing anything? Rumor has it that psy is polishing up a brand new badge for me, but now I have to put everything on hold while I read, read, read. By the time I'm done with this thread, there'll be other posts on the other threads, couple with new threads, that I'll have to catch up on.

That said, Matthew you really have fucked up my evening plans.

~Cackling Bbeeaarr~

PS: Jesus FC, I just tried to post this, and lo and behold, another post added to this thread. When will it fuckin' end?

PS #2: Guess what. Just tried it again, and no joy, but they say three times a charm.

PS #3: Will you fuckers quit posting so that I can get my valuable post in?

EDIT: I'm in!

Lamentably true.  I may have to take back my defense.  He could, I suppose try to argue that that was just to get people trusting him, but I don't think I'd be buying it.  That would ad up to a fair amount of money just to 'help the community learn a lesson.'  And a lesson which most of us don't need much help learning anyway.

I think he may have been serious initially but then as evidence of pirate not paying out coming to fruition his penis inverted and then he became a pussy and came up with the worst lame-ass excuse of how would technically get out of from paying all bettors.

How the hell am I suppose to do my valuable research

Let me save you the trouble

_________

Who is Matthew N. Wright?

I have invested considerable time and effort into this question and found some disturbing evidence.

Let me first show you this photo.

Now you may ask yourself why is this important, but if we dig a little deeper we will find that

Quote
The Wright brothers, Orville (August 19, 1871 – January 30, 1948) and Wilbur (April 16, 1867 – May 30, 1912), were two American brothers, inventors, and aviation pioneers who were credited with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight, on December 17, 1903

I rest my case.

I dunno, Matthew's been spending a lot of time trying to hunt down Atlas alts and get them banned. There'd be a certain irony in him being on the other end of that for much the same reason as Atlas.

Did Atlas ever try to scam people out of 10k's of Bitcoin? I don't follow his posts, so really don't know.
I don't think anyone trusted Atlas enough to let him into a position where he'd have been able to pull that off, thankfully. The smarmy cleverness and the dubious attempts to weasel his way out of deals, on the other hand...

Good punishment but not really fair to Atlas to be linked to a 80K BTC scammer.

To hell with your magazine.

Unfortunately, it's not "my magazine". Not sure how many times I'll need to correct that in the future. Please boycott Dove soap since I wash my buttcrack with that Wink

Fuck me! I'm still 200 posts out and now I have to change my soap brand, for if I were to pick up a bar of Dove, an image of Matthew's ass will always come to mind. Don't believe me? For those of you who do use Dove, try not to think of Matthew's ass the next time you're lathering up your crown jewels.

And for those who like to gamble: (Euronext: UNA, LSE: ULVR)

Quote
Consumer goods giant Unilever (LSE: ULVR; Euronext: UNA; NYSE: UN) turned in the worst performance on the 100 as it dropped 5.93 due mainly in part to bitcoiners switching brands upon learning that one of their own (recently tagged) uses Dove to wash the crack of his ass.
