I am never sure if those newcomers posts are serious or not  Cool website is always up, twitter exists although it will be not updated before incoming announcement.

ima see if any friends/family want me to buy and run mns for them. After this last year of crypto-craziness they all listen to me fairly closely rofl.

Happy New Year everybody out there!

Take a nice long swig/toke for 8bit somewhere amidst the celebrations.

HODL 8BIT!

You both are right... Old website is down, the new one (http://www.8bit.trade) is up, but there is no link to the new website in the OP. BTW, coinmarketcap shows another website link, but it is outdated too.

I suppose the outdated OP is the main reason of newcomers asking/telling weird things - as they are being misled by outdated information.

This means just one thing: the new thread (the one where the OP can be controlled and kept up-to-date) is long overdue...

... this space is not for rent ...

Where did you take this URL from? (nevermind, from OP)

@everyone: regarding drays' post - please tell coinmarketcap to update the links - I guess I have already done it. Their mills grind slowly, but they grind - help them speed them up.

I can imagine it takes a while. They (Is there even a 'they'?) have to manage a list of hundreds of coins and tokens. Then they have the responsibility for not posting malicious websites, so when you submit a new website they need to validate it somehow. Do they have a protocol for that?

There is a guide on the website, on discord and also on this thread (like 40 pages ago, use the research)

First of all, get decent Ubuntu, 12 lts has already reached its EOL.

Looks like you have moved your 112-8bit input collateral.

I was able to compile wallet using these instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1028119.msg25225323#msg25225323
Then I got masternode working by adding following lines to init.cpp:

Code:
        } else {
            return InitError(_("You must specify a masternodeprivkey in the configuration. Please see documentation for help."));
        }
        // ------------------------- start -------------
        std::string err;
        masternodeConfig.read(err);
        if (!err.empty())
            LogPrintf("error while parsing masternode.conf Error: %s \n", err);
        // -------------------------- end -------------
    }

    fEnableDarksend = GetBoolArg("-enabledarksend", false);
Without these lines it doesn't read masterned.conf, therefore it will not be able to find stake coins.
Not sure how everybody else's wallets are working without this fix. Mystery....

You've managed to turn your mn wallet into a wallet that also stakes your mn rewards? If so... *clap clap clap*
