Ok. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I can't input anything in the Add Pattern field under the Vanity Gen Tab.

Is there a trick to it?

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

Only valid SPR characters are allowed.

The first letter can only be a capital S (since all SPR addresses need to start with an S), it will not allow you to type anything else.

The second letter also has a few restrictions, not all characters are allowed there (also SPR specific).... but after the 3./4. letter you can pretty much type whatever you want as long as it is a base58 character:

123456789abcdefghijkmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZ

Notice that 0 (Zero) and O (capital o) aren't allowed,
and I (capital i) and l (small L) are also not allowed.

The program will tell you the allowed characters based on the cursor position, see... the "Allowed @X:..." text to the right of the "Add patterns" button.

Come to think of it, I will probably make it so that the first Letter S is always present, so that people don't need to type it themselves.

7 years? Why is your hashrate so low?

Even with just one thread (215 Kkey/s) it takes me only about 50 days for a 50% chance of finding SUPERMAN with MatchCase activated.

EDIT: oh, you were probably talking about a completely different pattern then... I see... Cool

Can you guys post a few Hashrates, and what CPU you use... I am curious.

I take it that the vangen search sessions clears when you start / stop the wallet?

If there was a way to find the public key, keep the private key safely hidden (I know, near impossible), then you could sell these. Perhaps it would be an incentive for people to keep nodes up, running and 'mining'. The prospect of getting something that might have some value  Wink

Import button doesn't work.

Right click, import does work.

I fixed it, and added a small bonus feature:

it will tell you the amount of deletable and importable addresses when you do a right click.

New version (I am reusing the old link, so that newcomers will be uptodate):

http://www.spreadcoin.info/downloads/preview_wallet_0.zip

How do i import the privet key again?

Either with the right click on the address, or by activating auto-import (with unlocked wallet), or by downloading the newest version that has a working import-button:

Vanitypools exist, and they have found a way of dealing with this problem, so there is definitely a solution.

I'll look into it sometime in the future, but I do consider the in-wallet-vanitygen side project finished and am looking into the next steps to create a first testnet version of rudimentary basic servicenodes.

With the current preview wallet I'll just finish the open bugs (plus load/save feature of vangen worklist) and create the new versions for all systems, (I'll need your feedback guys)
then I will need to update the website (add Newssection) and create a blockexplorer,
all that while I look into basic first iteration of the servicenode concept.

I do have a few ideas... Cool
