How many SPR coins are needed to run a service node?

0 SPR because ServiceNodes have been talked about for far too long and nothing has been done about it even when the previous Developer was babbling on about it.

If you've been closely following just since the past 5 pages, you'd realize that there is a ton of developmental action. And you'd be able to answer his question- the amount of SPR coins required will be variable. You can find additional details on this in Georgem's announcement: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1045373.msg13481105#msg13481105

Ok, thanks Gladimor!

BLITZ will require a minimum of 30k coins to run a BlitzNode, so I wasn't sure if there was a minimum with SpreadCoin.

I have 5k SPR so I hope I'll be competitive.

You should be able to host a good few nodes with 5k!

Would be nice but you need a server for it if i get it right , and all with diffrent ip´s , might be nice to find a way to have some on one computer or it will be a expansive node

I could be wrong, but the Compute Capability for your card is 1.1.  I think the minimum needed is 3.0 , someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think Charlie Lee (from memory, so could be wrong), director of Engineering @ Coinbase, has said in the past that they do have a system for accepting transactions with zero confirmations, but there is a limit on individual transactions on what they would allow without confirmations.

After doing some brief research on segregated witness, it looks like our full bitcoin nodes will be in very high demand once they are up and hosted.

Full nodes with a complete history of the blockchain will [possibly] reduce in numbers. By having nodes with a complete history, we become a connection source for SPVs, nodes that opt to exclude transaction signatures (segregation of witness ie transaction signature), as well as other full nodes.

Why is this important?

Well, when you want to collect lots of data, there is nothing better than having an attractive [sic, complete] data source with plenty of expressly served bandwidth.

So will servicenodes be paid different rates depending on what services they provide?
For example, will a servicenode hosting a decentralised bitcoin block explorer be paid less than a service node hosting a decentralised bitcoin and namecoin block explorer?

How will the rates (the servicenode's pay) be decided?

Nothing has been finalised in regards to this as it will be refined in testnet.

However, I believe the starting point is going to be a maximum of 30% block reward with 15% going to a Bitcoin node and the remainder being split between the altcoins.

Obviously open to discussion within the community.

I would personally love to see a Bitcoin node being mandatory but georgem believes that Spreadcoin should not be in the position to choose which Bitcoin fork people run.

Are there new mining software ?

The hashrate had jumped tremendously, like 10x, it seems that small fish has almost no chance to hit a block anymore

With solo mining finding block means just that - finding block. Last day I got 0 blocks with 2x750Ti ;/

There are optimised miners available from Wolf0 and SP.  Whilst they are very good, they don't account for the jump in hashrate.  We just have more people mining.

I'm always had the opinion that by preventing pools it will drive mining into the hands of the farm owners and make it difficult for small scale miners.  I don't know what the solution is but I wish it was possible to receive a reward for mining with one or two GPUs.

Hi,
I am new to the whole virtual coins scene, but I like the SpreadCoin concept.
I have experience in developing Android apps and I would be interested in developing an app for the coin.
Looked thru some arusso developed pieces, may avail of some.
