I learned what happened and I feel maincoin is right. But the community should not be punished for dev's action.

The site is back online since I paid for it. When the hosting expires it will be redirect to the official site.

Let's hope for the best.

Thanks bitrev!  You are a good person.  The community definitely should not suffer because of whatever happened (I am not sure what it was, and only hope that I had nothing to do with it).  We want the community to thrive and the only way to do so is for active involvement and majority agreements on where this coin should be headed.

I'm also not entirely sure what happened - but he was selfish to punish the community like that.

I'm glad you could fix it.

I agree - this is a community coin now, the only way to thrive is for active involvement and majority agreements on where this coin should be headed!

As I said, in the case of LiteDoge and many other crypto coins the term "Community Takeover" actually means "Community Managed/Driven".  It is inevitable that dev's will eventually leave their coin for some reason or other, which results in a "community takeover".  This is where communities have direct control over key project decisions as well as the management thereof. Thus the potential gains of a "community takeover" are undoubtedly large, reversing existing power relations that creates a voice for all.  It is expected that this will result in the undertaking of self-initiated development activities, that is more responsive to the needs of the community and gaining synergy through shared initiatives.

All are a now responsible, not just one individual - less risk and more fun.

I have forgiven and moved on already - we all should!

LiteDoge to the moon ... such fun ...

My thanks to the devs for keeping this coin alive and functioning throughout all that has happened. I would like to request that they implement similar features that Hyperstake (HYP) uses for passive block management for efficient staking:

"setstakesplitthreshold" Automatically ensure that blocks do not split below a certain set amount. Example, if set to "100,000" then after staking a block of LDOGE will never half below 100,000 LDOGE and will automatically combine smaller blocks and create whole new blocks from the excess. This will ensure that a user will not have blocks too small to effectively stake or take up too much resources from too many small blocks.

"SplitBlock" Automatically splits larger blocks into a size of your choosing so you would not have to wait for a larger block to passive half to a certain size or do it manually. Example, you just bought 10,000,000 LDOGE and you wish to stake them at 100,000 per block. This would mean you'd need to send 100,000 LDOGE to yourself 100 times or set SplitBlock to 100,000 and when that 10,000,000 LDOGE stakes it will be automatically be turned into the desired 100 blocks of 100,000 LDOGE.

The advantage of both features is obvious but I am not privy to how much work it will require. I only ask that you take a serious look at it.

    Thank you.

I was always wondering why would someone do that.....
1. It is more than certain that, whatever you'll be mining, you will get less coins for your hashrate. All rigs have smaller hashrate on multipools and get a higher number of stales, due to the speed they change coins. The higher the speed they change coins, the worse your rig will perform.
2. All multipools fail to follow difficulty and price changes, when they start mining a coin, it is usually time to move on another one.
3. Multipools can't mine the most profitable coin, because of the algorithms they use. When X coin has a temporary drop in price, it is excluded from "profitable coins" automatically... It's even worse when you let them exchange for you, when the coins get to the exchange, they never have the value you were mining them for, because several hours have passed (if not days).
4. When you let them exchange the coins for you, you always get screwed, they don't get the highest price for what you mined or the lowest price for the coin you want and you pay extra fees.

I'm mining for a very long time, sha256 and scrypt algos, I never use multipools, no matter the reason, prefer to do the maths myself.

Edit: and I didn't even touched the subject "transparency"..... there is no such thing in multipools, you never know whats going on.

Multipools that payout in a certain currency for your work are not profitable at face value for what you mine but if you use them in conjunction with trading they can give you consistent profits and keep the coin alive on an exchange if there is little to no volume for the currency on it's own. In essence, you will create volume by mining when the multi goes to buy they coins it will pay you in. Of course, you still must choose wisely on which coin you wish to be paid in as this will take time.

Server downtime

Postby Chris Sokolowski

Hi everyone,

Prohashing will be taking the server down for an extended period of time to transfer our entire database to solid state storage. Until now, we have been running our database on a hybrid SSD/HDD arrangement, but with the new block explorer and the increase in hashrate, the database can no longer sustain the I/O needed for reliable performance. This manifests itself in long website load times and random bugs.

The maintenance will take between 12-24 hours. The reason so much time is needed is because the database is extremely fragmented on the hard drive and copying the data will be slow. We expect to perform the transfer on Monday, when the solid state disks are expected to arrive, but if their arrival is delayed, then we will perform the maintenance on Tuesday. I will provide more specific estimates when I get more details on the shipping.

Thanks again to rootdude for all his advice on solid state disks. We will be running a RAID 10 of 1 TB Samsung SSD 850 Pro disks, which I estimate will offer at least a 10x performance improvement over the current arrangement. With the new, faster database, we look forward to the many possibilities that lie ahead.

Thanks,

-Chris

Nice, thank you.  Maybe with all the turmoil in Greece, they will move to using LiteDoge as their national currency.  ::crosses fingers::

Nah, I'm just playing.  Did you receive a bounty for this?  I did say I was going to start managing the bounties, but I kinda walked away from the coin for a week or so because the drama gave me a headache.  Anyway, hopefully that is all behind us, I was just curious if you received anything for your efforts or if you hold LiteDoge and were just doing it for the community.
