Yes it can ruin your life especially if you are greedy, if we lose there is a part where you want to get back what you have lost and because of that the losses are just increasing. it can wreck your life and your relationship with your family if you become addicted.

the most worst situation which can ruin your life are when you lost everything.

i mean like when you have lost and then gamble again to get a streak lost , you lost your money and then decide to sell everything you have in your house , still not enough to gamble as you need to have back your losing money you decde to sell your house as your 50-50 chance to life. this is the worst scenario and i have heard someone have done this before somewhere.

The worst thing is when you lose your family because of addiction, we work hard for our family but we resort to gambling and made a mistake, it is just acceptable because we are desperate to make money in the first place but if we keep doing it that would result to a serious problem like I have mentioned.
